 1 May 2019

Yoga teacher training is that important aspect of life that can make or break your career if you aren’t serious about it or didn’t do it from a certified place. Therefore, choosing a destination for a certified yoga course is more of a responsibility. If you are also planning for a certified yoga course but unsure of from where you should do your course, then this article is for you.The following article will shift your focus towards Thailand and will guide you to the reasons why you should do your yoga teacher training in Thailand:Renowned yoga teachers: While enrolling for yoga teacher training course you may check the list of experienced yoga teachers available for teaching. You will realize that yoga teachers involved in the particular yoga school of Thailand may turn out to be a globally renowned yoga teacher. This is because yoga schools want the students to learn and practice yoga in the most authentic and professional way. This is made sure by aligning yoga teachers that have expertise in the different styles of yoga. Perfect class size: Since yoga schools in Thailand focus on effective learning and want to make sure that every student receives personalized training during the session; they make sure the class size is average. The idea behind this is that if you have a number of students in a class it is difficult for the teacher to concentrate on every student. Moreover, the teaching doesn’t yield any result either for the student or the teacher.Spiritually active: Thailand is a secular country that has several religions living in a peaceful manner altogether which includes Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, etc. The religions and culture of the country make the person spiritually active. You may pay visits to Buddhist temples that may help you in educating rituals in Buddhism; other places that you may visit including churches, mosques, etc. You may also plan a yoga session near a temple in order to grasp the calm and positive energy of the place.Comprehensive healing treatment: In Thailand, you may combine your yoga session along with some activities that have a healing effect on your body. You may learn Yoga Pilates, spa and ayurvedic therapies, Thai massages, kickboxing, Muay Thai, etc. If you have planned for yoga teacher training in Bangkok you may combine golf, bounce Inc. with yoga which are also one of the major as well as new attractions in the area.Cost effective: Being an Asian country, Thailand is cost-effective as compared to the prices of certified yoga courses in other countries. You may combine your airfares, training fee, accommodation at a much lesser budget as compared to countries like Canada, US or the UK. Moreover, accommodation and food are included by most of the yoga schools. So, you see, Thailand offers not only authentic and traditional yoga teacher training course but also offers the amazing experience of a relaxed and de-stressed holiday that helps you calm your mind, body, and soul. The above-mentioned reasons are just a brief part of the bigger picture of what you are going to experience. The best way to judge the reasons is to plan for yoga teacher training in Thailand.

Technology based education will it solve the problem we are facing ?
 9 May 2019

We can use Technology to provide education to children: We can give quality education by using the technology and by connecting to the globe, and where ever possible reuse the existing information.Use a commonplace for school, like the temple, church in absence of school.EDU-VAN for education: Mobile van will contain equipment like Computer, Mobiles, Mobile gadgets like memory card, Mobile/Radio charge outlet which will be used by the teacher and students. The mobile van can reach to the remote place and can be used to teach the students. The recorded media like pdf can be saved in the mobiles so this will serve as a textbook for children. The children can take the mobiles to their home and can learn. The usage of recorded media such as videos from youtube, how stuff works will help the children to learn at faster/own phase. Probably some rights are needed as these materials are been used by an organization. We need not invest a huge amount in mobiles there are many organizations that recycle the mobiles, with the advancement in technology probably we can get the recycled mobiles at a cheaper rate, and can have the recorded materials in it. Moreover, we need just a device to play media files and have pdf so that will not cost much.Google Hangout-based education: We can ask students from other countries, to provide online class sessions to the refugee camp students. If we can design a Time-Zone based Time Table, and by having collaboration with schools and colleges we can execute this idea. As a part of social service activity, points credit should be given to the students and teachers of various school, where they will be spending 2 to 3 hrs a week in teaching the children on their favorite subject. At the end of the session, the google hangout video will be available which can be used as recorded material and can be reused for clarifying doubts and refreshing the subject.Radio-Based Education: Still there are places which may not have enough electricity so we can use the radio in those places. 3 or 4 dedicated channel for education, where the subjects can be broadcasted repeatedly and weekly once. Children can attend the school (a common place like temple/ Van) and can get their doubts clarified. If that is not possible an interactive radio session can be conducted/Email based question-answer session can be conducted where the children can post their question to the staff/teacher they will send a mail to other teachers and will provide an answer.Bring Innovation in Teaching: In today's world innovation cannot be ignored, so even the teachers should keep learning, and should introduce new approaches in learning, there are many online free courses on creativity and Design labs. Which will be useful for teachers and students. So the teachers/students can enroll in those courses and can share their experiences. One such course is by Novo Education, Creativity course by Tina Selig https://novoed.com/creativity, where you get a chance to interact with professionals from various background. "Nothing can replace Experience, and when some shares it please absorb it!"Knowledge Sharing Session: Let the students learn through the recorded media, and let them be one day teacher. Where the student takes the class for other students, the idea is to improve their confidence and soft skills which are required for their future. In the advanced version of knowledge sharing the refugee students can take the class to the foreign students so they can overcome their fear.Advanced Skill Learning: We can use some mobiles to have an advanced skill set learning, which contains recorded materials on various subjects like "Languages, Photography, Journalism " etc let the student learn these skills through the recorded media. Then UNHCR can conduct a workshop on that subject based on the enrolled student's strength. The accelerated workshops and apprenticeship help them to achieve the job.Security Issue: One of the main reasons, girls avoid school is security reasons. If we can deliver the materials through recorded media through mobiles, we don't need even the internet, they can play the recorded materials and pdf at their own phase. They can clarify their doubt once or twice in a week when the Edu-Van reaches their place. "It's better to learn, than being taught." Moreover most of the girl's dropout during the secondary education and by using the animations we can teach them easily as the  "picture is worth more than a thousand words"!Divide and Conquer Education with informal discussion: Let the girls interact with each other, their neighbor/ friend let them learn one subject properly and share the learning with other girls in their locality.Time Management: When a girl becomes pregnant, or she has household responsibilities she cannot spend enough time in school, with the help of recorded media she can learn the things at a faster pace, and by giving 3-4 hours on the important subject she can achieve a good education. After a certain age " We can learn by our-self, but we need to invest ample time and confidence to achieve it.Advanced Skill Learning: We can use some mobiles to have advanced skillset learning, which contains recorded materials on various subjects like "Languages, Photography, Journalism " etc let the student learn these skills through the recorded media. Parents and Families: Parents should encourage their children to attend the technology-based school, as schooling is delivered to their home. So the security issue is been addressed. At the max, their children have to visit the EDU-VAN or Church-based school weekly once or twice. This is a chain reaction when one family follows it, others will start doing it.Communities: The communities can help in setting up the school in the church or other common places, and they have to spread the message that "By educating a girl they are educating their society" during the public gathering they need to spread the message of Technology based schooling and their advantages, such as their children has a good scope to get a job, quality education. So this encourages the parent to send them to school.Though all of these are thoughts can this be realized?

The Best Medicine

The Best MedicineTopics of discussions with friends hover around different issues at different ages. As teenagers, we discussed about our challenges in learning, adolescent problems, etc.  In our youth, we discussed about our dreams of our future, life-partners, career, etc.  A few lucky ones discussed about their love affairs, which had happy ending!  Then came our middle age, when we were busy managing our families and careers and very rarely got to meet our friends.  Whenever we met, the discussion was about how we did the balancing act, our children’s responses, concerns about their education, behaviour and so on.  Children grew up and entered teens and then we had the challenge of handling them.  God knows whether our parents thought about this challenge so much, because the exposure that we had as teenagers was so limited.  Time passed and our children left homes in search of greener pastures.  They found their life partners and the focus now is on their new families.  This is a natural cycle but we all started feeling the pain of empty nests.  We were left to tend to our aged parents and hence when we meet people, what we mostly discuss is ‘health’ or rather ‘ill-health’!  It is not that death is the trend now and it never occurred in the yesteryears but death did not haunt us as much as it does now.  We keep hearing about the demise of the elders in the family, our friends, our colleagues and that keeps reminding us that the time is ticking away.  What haunts us more than death is the age-related complications before we actually embrace death!  Thus all we discuss is about exercise, prevention of certain chronic diseases, management of chronic diseases, weight-loss, diet, medicines, labs, hospitals, doctors - Oh!Do we really get respite from such thoughts and discussions?  We do, if only we go back in time!  How do we do that?  Thanks to technology, we are able to connect to our old friends, friends who can make us feel young!  Recently, we connected through WhatsApp and fifteen of us, who schooled together met up in Secunderabad!  Wow!  I tell you!  Nothing can be as invigorating as attending a school reunion!  Many of my classmates live in Hyderabad/Secunderabad and they took the lead and organised the reunion painstakingly.  We were lucky to get in touch with eight of our teachers.   We invited the teachers to our school Keyes High School, Secunderabad, which was established in 1881.  We felicitated them and sought their blessings.  They were so touched and were genuinely happy that we had all done well in our lives and careers and our children have excelled in their fields.  In fact, one of our teachers said, ‘Seeing your vigour and enthusiasm and your fresh memories I feel like gathering you all in a classroom and conducting a lecture!”We then spent hours in a service apartment, sharing all those golden memories, reliving every incident.  Each of us had something to share.  One of us is a gynaecologist and she shared many of her professional experiences in a very witty manner.  All of us spoke about our marriages and some of us had juicy news about love affairs!  We spoke about the play ‘Panchali Sabadam’, which our classmates had staged on the annual day! We pulled each other’s legs, laughed heartily and even danced and sang!  All of us went back in time by 46 years, putting aside all our present worries, pains and sorrows!  Three days just flew by.  When the time came for us to depart, we were all sad but all of us decided that we had to organise such meets more often in future, getting some more of our friends into the loop.  A few more friends have joined the group since then and are now very eagerly waiting for the second reunion, which we are organising in our garden city in December.  This is the b medicine for all ailments in this age!  Do take this medicine in higher dosages!

Please give details about your initial education and forming years of lifePresently,I am a student of class 5, studying in Prudence School, New Delhi. How did you get interested in literature? What inspired you to write?I am not sure, how it began. I use to finish my school work very fast and would then start writing on bits of paper, loose sheets and in diary. Once my mom asked me to write about 'my most unforgettable moment'. I wrote about my late grandmother. After reading it, my parents, immediate family members, got very emotional. That's how I think my potential was realized by my mom. She encouraged me to write more and meanwhile got to know about this platform 'StoryMirror'. First time when I posted my story on StoryMirror, and the first 'Like' I got from someone unknown to me, acted as a catalyst. Since then, there has been no stopping. What difficulties did you have to face with respect to literary work?I keep writing because I love writing. I have not faced any problem except asking for votes. What is your view about the present day literary work?I like literature because it gives me ideas, increases my vocabulary, makes me more sensitive. Everytime I read a new story, there is a new reality to discover. I love reading fiction like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Roald Dahl series, Geronimo Stilton etc. The joy of reading these works is immense, as it takes me to an entirely different world of pleasure and fantasy.Do you think that the emergence of digital and social media has given a new opportunity to creative writers?Yes, because through digital and social media, the reach to read has increased immensely. Please tell us something about your literary workI like writing and reading about crime,  different people, places and also about fiction. What was your first literary work and how was it published? My poems have been published in 'Hindustan Times' newspaper. My first poem which was published in the newspaper was 'Thank You'. I was appreciated by my teachers, classmates and my parents. How many ways literature can contribute to society in future? It is a very strong medium, through which views of people, emerging issues of the society, entertainment for everyone and intellect/passion of the writers can be beautifully expressed and penned.Where do you see yourself after 5 years in the literary world?I see myself in the hearts of my friends, peers, teachers and everyone else in the school and place where I live.  Five years from now, I will be in class Xth, and I would then like people following my poems, favorite poets endorsing them and also have more ways and platforms to express my views. What ways would you suggest to build a community for poets?Digital media is a good way to interact and share the work. Also various institutions should come forward and recognize poems as a strong medium of expression. What message would you like to give to aspiring new writers?Do what you Love and Love what you Do.How was your experience of writing on StoryMirror? It was very inspiring, great learning and a very good platform to channelize and express my views through story/ poems. I felt very motivated every time my poem got selected by StoryMirror. Would you like to say something about StoryMirror? StoryMirror is a very strong, motivating channel to bring out the creative skill of budding writers. For me, I also liked reading other stories/ poems posted on StoryMirror. It was a good way to interact and know about others and their beautiful work. Here is the link to read my content https://storymirror.com/profile/kytwvmko/agrata-verma/stories

Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.26
 11 June 2019

Self-Awareness Is Difficult - In Gita Verse 1.26 There Arjuna could see, within the midst of the armies of both parties, his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers.As soon as Arjuna saw both the parties he was shattered. As in the verse says that Arjuna could see, in the midst of the armies of both parties, his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers. This verse did not say he watched everyone and their positions. That indicates that he got into objective world and unable to turn towards himself in his subjectivity. Krishna had his own doubt how can Arjuna will be neutral when he will see whole Kuru family and their friends. To remain aware is difficult. To be unconscious is easy. If you are unconscious then you are part of the objective world and not as Individual, not settle in your subjectivity. In my blog Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.24, I have written that why Arjuna selected against the whole Narayani Sena Krishna, himself as charioteer on a condition, that he would neither fight nor hold any weapon, Arjuna knew that the whole purpose of this war is just not winning or losing or exhibition of their strength, but universe wants to deliver message to whole humanity that we can fight without enmity. Mahabharat war was not just an ordinary war it was war in which Pandava fought without enmity. Keeping this mindfulness of universe message he selected Krishna against whole Narayani sena. He gave priority to Universe and not his desire to win Indraprastha. Pandava did not want to win Hastinapur they wanted only their part of land and that is Indraprastha. The unconscious can be transformed only through awareness. It is difficult, but there is no other way. There are many methods for being aware, but awareness is necessary. You can use methods to be aware, but you will have to be aware. If someone asks whether there is any method to dispel darkness except by light, howsoever difficult it may be, that is the only way - because darkness is simply the absence of light. So you have to create the presence of light and then darkness is not there.Unconsciousness is nothing but an absence, the absence of consciousness. It is not something positive in itself, so you cannot do anything except be aware. If unconsciousness were something in its own right then it would be a different matter, but it is not. Unconsciousness doesn’t mean something; it only means not consciousness. It is just an absence. It has no existence in itself; in itself it is not. The word unconscious simply shows the absence of consciousness and nothing else. When we say ‘darkness’ the word is misleading, because the moment we say darkness, it appears that darkness is something that is there. It is not, so you cannot do anything with darkness directly - or can you?You may not have observed the fact, but with darkness you cannot do anything directly. Whatsoever you want to do with darkness you will have to do with light, not with darkness. If you want darkness, then put off light. If you don’t want darkness, then put on light. But you cannot do anything directly with darkness; you will have to go via light. Why? Why can you not go directly? You cannot go directly because there is nothing like darkness, so you cannot touch it directly. You have to do something with light, and then you have done something with darkness. If light is there, then darkness is not there. If light is not there, then darkness is there. You can bring light into this room, but you cannot bring darkness. You can take light out from this room, but you cannot take darkness out from this room. There exists no connection between you and darkness. Why? If darkness were there then man could be related somehow, but darkness is not there.By selecting Krishna, Arjuna brought light. Why in India there is lot of emphasize on living master/Guru?In the East, the blessing of a master is very very significant.A great receptivity is needed, a great feminine receptivity is needed to find the master. And if you are available and a living master is there, suddenly something clicks. There is nothing to do on your part – you simply be there. It is such a vital energy phenomenon that if you are available something simply clicks, you are caught. It is a love phenomenon. You cannot prove to anybody else, “I have found the master.” There is no proof. Don’t try that because anybody can bring proof against it. You have found it and you know it; you have tasted and you know it. This knowledge is of the heart, of the feeling. At the same time remember - Nobody can put you right except you yourself. The master simply teaches you to be a master of yourself — that is the true function of a master. He does not want you to depend on him. But the mind goes on playing these mischiefs. The mind wants you to depend. The mind is always in search of a father figure or a mother figure; you want somebody to hold your hand. You want somebody to guide, to lead. The master can only indicate. He is a finger pointing to the moon. But the mind plays a mischief: it clings to the finger — you may even start sucking the finger.Arjuna was well aware of his weaknesses. He also knew that only Krishna can help him to come out of his Unconsciousness.

Children who are being bullied can suffer various problems and difficulties. They would not be able to have proper sleep and thus would be suffering with insomnia. They would start underestimating themselves . They would not share their problems with elders which would affect their future . There is a solution for every problem and thus the problem of bullying also have a solution . As we are mindful that if the roots of the tree are strong so the tree will be surely strong. The roots of a child is his/her school so if we start from school itself so it would be beneficial for the bully beef as well as the one who is bullied. There can be as many  solutions to this problem. School  has the most important role in it.  School can conduct workshops , projects or activities about anti-bullying. This will help children to learn  in creative manner. It should be as creative  as  it can be , as the attractive things are attracted by children fast . School can reward children on the basis of their behavior .This will attract children and would result in change in behavior. Schools should have open communication. Communication is a key to building close and harmonious relationship.Children should discuss their problem with teachers and adults  . Schools can have counselors which would help the students. They could discuss their problems with counselors . counselors help children to solve their problem and understand them . So lets together take oath not to bully . STOP BULLYING !!!By-Ananya Katiyar

Please give details about your initial education and forming years of life.I have recently turned 13 and am moving to 8th grade. I have been born and brought up in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR. I started my schooling and continue to be at Shikshantar – a place where I can be ‘me’. From my early days, I have been fascinated by all kinds of cars – that’s what even my teachers from idiscoveri preschool remember about me. As I am growing up, this has become a passion – I am an avid fan of all kinds of car racing – F1, Formula E, Moto GP etc. I enjoy a variety of music and sports - from the age of 6, I started learning tennis & piano and they have gradually become an important part of my routine. I have fun playing games on the Xbox and PS4. And…as expected, I can remain engrossed in books for hours!!! How did you get interested in literature? What inspired you to write?   My parents always encouraged me to spend time with books. I remember listening to a wide variety of amusing stories in Hindi, English and Bengali from my parents and grandparents. This started me on my journey with books and this bond has got stronger day by day. At school, I enjoyed reading (or initially observing the pictures) the books from the small book stacks in the classroom. A few years ago, I and my friends became Tintin fans – we used to exchange the comics and read them together. We still do that with books we are currently interested in. During summer holidays, I have spent my time relaxing with the collection of my mother’s old books (& Archies comics!!!) at my Nani’s house. My interest in literature spans a vast range and I enjoy characters like Famous Five, Geronimo Stilton, Shonku & Feluda, Harry Potter etc. I have been entertained by the works of many authors - Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Herge, Ruskin Bond, Satyajit Ray, Agatha Christie. Mystery & adventure is the genre that I love.  At school, we were always encouraged to express our thoughts and feelings on paper – first through art and then through writing. Starting with a few lines in my own spellings, I began writing short pieces based on the themes given in class.  I got a lot of encouragement from my teachers and parents and over time, my writing skills evolved to poems and short stories based on prompts or on areas of my interest. Guided by my English teacher, my mother approached Children’s World magazine and my work was well appreciated by the editor. When my first poem got published, it further boosted my confidence and motivated me to write better .  I was selected for a workshop ‘ Kissa-O-Kalam’ at Sahitya Akademi in May 2017 where I got to learn about different writing techniques from the mentors and hear interesting ideas of my companions. I have also participated in a number of creative writing competitions including Katha Utsav(2015), Scholastic Writing Awards(2016), Hindu Young World Club contests etc. These experiences have brought in new perspectives and enhanced my writing. What is your view about the present-day literary work?Modern day adventure stories excite me. I have read the series of Percy Jackson, Alex Rider and Time Riders. I find these to be thrilling with fast action and quick changes of scenarios – the twists and turns take the story to unexpected endings. Moreover, these adventures always involve some novel type of technological features which makes it more interesting. I find it difficult to put down the book till I have reached the end –you want to finish it as fast as you can to know the climax. Please tell us something about your literary work.I enjoy writing short stories and poems in English. I generally pick up abstract topics and use my imagination to spin stories around them. For this, I draw upon my experiences of travel, stories that I read, games that I play and what I observe around me.Some of my works include:Short stories - Autobiography of a Pair of Socks, A Chance Encounter with Hanumanji, Desert Escapade Poems – The Paper Boat, Fire n Ice, Falcon, Sounds of Silence I have also written few poems and short stories in Hindi – बचपन, जंगल बचाव, मन करताहै What was your first literary work and how was it published? My first literary work was an English poem called ‘Sounds of Silence’ which was published in the ‘Children’s World’ magazine on its 50th anniversary in April 2017. It is a monthly magazine brought out by the Children Book Trust, Delhi and is one of the oldest magazines for children.Where do you see yourself after 5 years in the literary world?                            I am keen to continue writing short stories and hope to sharpen my writing skills in the future. One of the ways I plan to do this is by pursuing my passion for reading. This will help me to get more ideas and to create extraordinary stories. What ways would you suggest to build a community for poets?                          Online platforms help amateur writers to share their works and read contributions from others. This can be enhanced by holding regular events and workshops. Emerging writers get to interact among themselves, appreciate other’s style of writing and learn from each other. Inviting a well known poet or author to share their thoughts will help young writers to get new ideas and develop their writing skills.      What message would you like to give to aspiring new writers?I always believe in the motto “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.”                            How was your experience of writing on StoryMirror?Story mirror was convenient to access. The features of a theme picture and introduction helps to arouse curiosity and makes the piece inviting for readers. It is encouraging to know that others are enjoying your writings and read their interesting comments. Would you like to say something about StoryMirror?StoryMirror is a great initiative to bring together young writers and create a community for sharing , learning and developing literary skills.
