Do School Need To Impart Sex Education?
 Ananya Sanjay Kumar
 26 February 2018

Sex education or in broad terms “sexuality education has been a topic of great brainstorming in India lately. Just like every other idea it also has its own set of protagonists and antagonist. While supporters (I’m also one of them) cite “better knowledge about sexual health and well-being” as a reason, opposers bring religion, tradition and culture to support their stand.Sex as we know it has been a taboo in India. People are not comfortable talking about it even though it’s as natural part of life as breathing. You can talk and discuss every other part of the body, their functions, diseases that affect them, the causes and remedies of these diseases but about your reproductive system? NOPE, that makes you mean, ill-mannered, ill-cultured douche and what not. You may find many saying that sex education is an obscene western concept and India with all its culture and traditions doesn’t need it. Yeah right! As if we reproduce by ‘photosynthesis’. Though the list of myths about sexuality and sex education is endless, Here we’ll try to bust some of them.MYTH NO. 1: Sex education teaches children to have sex at an early age.NOPE, It doesn’t teach children to have sex at an early age. It teaches them to understand their reproductive system just like any other part of the body. It teaches them about the changes they’ll be experiencing at puberty and how it’ll affect them. It teaches them how to handle and be at par with these changes. It teaches them about the the social, psychological and biological aspects of a leading a healthy sexual life. It teaches them about sexually transmitted diseases and their prevention, birth control measures, sexual abuse and its prevention etc. A healthy sexual life doesn’t only include the physical act of sex but the overall sexual well-being.MYTH NO. 2: Keeping children away from these things will keep them innocent, well-mannered and cultured.Well, certainly not. Children are always curious to know about everything and it applies to sex as well. Not telling them about these things will make them search for this information through some other medium which includes friends, internet and even porn. Chances are very high that these mediums will give him/her a half-baked truth and fill his head with myths about sex. It will only leave him more confused and disillusioned. I once checked a forum of sexual awareness people often used to ask their questions about sexuality. There I found teenagers asking if watching porn will make them pregnant or applying semen to face will make their skin soft. What do you think is the reason behind all these myths? Just one i.e. not talking to them about sex. That way they don’t get their information from credible sources and accept myths as truth. Not talking to them about it will also make them too naïve to understand the difference between a casual touch and an intent of sexual molestation. As we all know that sexual abuse among children aged 5-12 is a grave problem in India. About 30% of the minors are sexually abused in some forms or the other. That is a very gruesome figure and a great cause of concern. A percentage of these crimes happen because children are not aware about it. Making them aware will definitely reduce these incidents by a great margin.MYTH NO. 3: India doesn’t have cases of teen pregnancy like Europe. Why do we need this?A grossly misinformed statement. Child marriage is still prevalent in many parts of India and it sure results in teen pregnancies. Actually the number of teen pregnancies in India is 62 out of a 1000. This is higher than Europe and America. Educating children about birth control measures will lessen the cases of such pregnancies thus saving many lives in the process as the cases of death of teen mothers while delivering the baby is dangerously high.MYTH NO.4: Children should not be told about things like homosexuality which is against nature. It will make them homosexuals.Homosexuality is not against nature. It is as natural as heterosexuality. Telling someone about it will not make them homosexual. Sexual orientations are decided by genetic factors ant can’t be changed just by knowing about all other orientations. Knowing about it will only make them accept the diversity of orientations and looks look at homosexuals with inferiority.MYTH NO. 5: What about the culture? Our culture never shunned “sex and sexual” from being discussed. In fact we had many scholars like Vatsyayana who did extensive research on this topic. His research is still a source of extensive learning on this subject. It’s the Victorian era moral codes imposed by European colonizers in the disguise of tradition and religion which is confused as Indian culture here. So, the bottom line is that you can educate children/teenagers about sexuality while Indian culture will remain totally safe and sound.

DEEP IN MY HEART, EMBOSSED LIKE AN ART.

She was married to a person she never loved. She never had a right to marry the person she loved. Even after all the years of fighting for her unfound love. She got married. Got married to a fake heart. A kind of heart which never came forward, letting the mind do it’s work. A work to undress a soul. With a right on that soul, every night he just used her body as a mode of entertainment. Something known as lust became his only mode of entertainment. Something known as lust became his only mode of living a happy life. Something known as lust became a mode of complete destruction of her life. Every night she felt like her soul is being 'raped'. Every night she saw a person on her bed with those devil horns. Waiting for her to undress herself. Every night she had nothing apart from missing the only person she loved was never made to be with her for a lifetime. All she was left with, was a shattered dream. A shattered love which had went far. So far that it could never be seen. All she could do to stay alive for her child is to keep a curve on her lips and never let that fake happiness disappear. All she could do to stay alive just to see a glimpse of her love was to prove love for her husband who never possessed a heart in him. All she dreamt for was the love which she got from someone who possessed a heart in him just for her. Been years of marriage but still her loyalty never let her fall in love with a person known as ‘her husband' who never possessed a heart. Well people say that sometimes things stolen are never found. Her heart was one of that kind. Which was stolen long back by someone who possessed a heart in him.A right that husband had. To undress her without her wish.A right that husband had. To make a lady, a naked doll. Just for fun.A right that husband had. To call that lady as his, ‘WIFE'. A right that husband had. To make his wife stay in his arms. Naked. For a lifetime.Been years of marriage but still her love for him. The husband. Never existed.Just like a time machine. Which never existed.True love never dies even after ages.Love is just like air. When it comes in front of lust. It’s never visible.©The Gumnaam Writer©The Part Tym HubbyI Be Your Pen, You Be My Words.#smblogcontest

 27 March 2018

Blurb:Born in the quiet village of Shambala, Kalki Hari, son of Vishnuyath and Sumati, has no idea about his heritage until he is pitted against tragedies and battles.Whisked into the province of Keekatpur, which is under the fist of Lord Kali, Kalki sees the ignominy of death trumping life all around him. He learns that he has been born to cleanse the world he lives in, for which he must journey to the North and learn the ways of Lord Vishnu’s Avatar; from an immortal who wields an axe. But trapped in the midst of betrayals, political intrigue and forces that seek to decimate him, will he be able to follow his destiny before the Kaliyug begins? My Review:Kalki – The tenth avatar of Shri Maha Vishnu, who is supposed to be take his form during Kaliyuga for samhara(killing) of Kali Purusha (Evil who sits in every person) as per mahapuranas. Inspired by these words author has taken readers into the world of mythological fantasy. Opening with a war after the deed between kali and Vedantta to acquire Keekatpur. Kali churns his evil with a motive of power. Somewhere in a remote village Shambala for the parents of Vishnuyath and Sumati, Kalki Hari takes his form(birth), who is not aware that his life has a purpose of “DUSHTA SHIKSHANA AND SHISHTA RAKSHANA” (Kill evil and Restore Dharma)Kalki who lives a happy and prosperous life in his village meets Kripacharya who explains the purpose of his birth/reincarnation. As destined he eventually meets the evil king kali in the process of creating an empire.Inspire of a slow beginning, the secret of the plot lies in the map which closely relates the characters and places without any impediments. Story is written in multiple viewpoint which makes you observant to every detail and keeps you on the edge and attentive to detail. Regardless the book is 400+ pages in length. The characters(tribes) are too many to remember, infact i referred the book back and forth to not to miss flow. Book is fast paced and always taking unpredictable twist and turns, sometimes it becomes as well.Kalki sets off on a battle to finish Adharm. Will he succeed in saving the world? The book is divided to two parts: Battle of Shambala & Rise of kali (My Favorite)I see many similarities with the actual mythological characters1. Sage Shuka (Parrot Head)2. Lakshmi (Godess)3. Arjan (Arjuna)4. Thakshak5. Vasuki and so on.Special mention to the Book Cover – “The BEST BOOK COVER” till date, The characters are excellently written and well placed in the story. The pace of the book is very good. Super fine paper quality.Remarkable effort of the young author in through research, I’m sure he would have referred to various scriptures and epics before bringing this book out. If you are a lover of fantasy and mythology, this book is highly recommended. This book carries almost all the aspects and breaking the myth of complex words when we take the mythological reference. Nothing in specific, I liked everything in this book. Hope unanswered questions are addressed in Satya Yoddha Kalki – The Eye of BrahmaPS: While I post this, I see the second book is taking its form. Cant wait more to read the next book in this series.Direct Link: https://www.amazon.in/Dharmayoddha-Kalki-Avatar-Vishnu-Book/dp/8193503309/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522175115&sr=8-1&keywords=kalki+by+kevin+missalRegardsKiran K Adharapuram

Book Review: Kansa: (Book 1 – The Killer Trilogy) The Professor Black Series – Prassant Kevin
 Kiran Kumar Adharapuram
 27 March 2018

Blurb:OVER A SPAN OF TEN YEARS, HE KILLED FORTY PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEN VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE. AFTER FIVE YEARS OF SILENCE, HE IS BACK AGAIN, SEEKING HIS NEXT VICTIM. ONLY ONE MAN CAN STOP HIM – PROFESSOR BLACK.Maher was found unconscious in the middle of the highway and later, in the hospital, she revealed that she had escaped from a killer’s house. All the details and patterns matched the serial killer ‘Kansa,’ who had disappeared five years ago after murdering forty pregnant women. ACP Saargi Desai was assigned to the case. She appealed to her department to bring back Professor Black to help her catch the killer. The Professor, who had a haunting past that had kept him away from the world of crime and investigation for several years, was not willing to take on this case. But the ACP managed to convince him to get on board just for this one last time. Soon after agreeing to help, the Professor realized that for the first time in his life, he had met his match. As he dug deeper into the case, everything got dirtier, the stakes went higher, and nothing was what it seemed.Intrigue:‘Kansa’ is the First book of ‘The Killer trilogy’ series by Prassant Kevin. The book narration starts with a couple who are traveling back after marriage at Corbett, whose car met with an accident, which rans out on Meher who is an escaped victim from KaNsa. The story grips with “ACP Saargi Desai” who suspects the impression of serial killer Kansa, who seeks help of a alcoholic, drug addict, womanizer yet criminology expert “Professor Black” to break this killing mystery of forty pregnant women and their babies. Not to further be a spoiler, this book answers the questions:Who is kaNsa?Why is the motive of killing pregnant women and their babies?Did ACP and Professor could break this mystery ?How Meher escaped from killer clutches ?To know yourself, read this crime thriller kaNsa. My Review:To start off , the book cover is damn awesome specially the EMBOSED title, the background picture and fine quality paper with bigger font which is handy makes happy to carry. It was one of the most awaited crime thrillers, the pace of book is very good and you will not find yourself bored at any point and a perfect nail biter.Book starts with a hidden message, a second of driving negligence needs more pay off and in other way that paves a great start as clue to find the serial killer, “There is no one either good or bad, but circumstances make them so” , one of the best thing in kaNsa is the story is written and narrated in third person point of view. writing style is pretty clear, decent content and has minimal grammatical errors, can be ignored in interest of plot. The narration was so perfect, I can feel those come before my eyes when I am reading the book (may be due to midnight read)At few places due to suspect and mysterious nature, readers will literally experience chills in their spine (sweet warning), this book pulled me from love and romance to crime and suspense genre ( I stacked three already) ,title kaNsa and story progress makes the keen readers feels the mythological impression in the intrigue.Below few unanswered questions made me to go with a star less:1. Professor Black family ?2. Logical or medical reason to kill pregnant women3. The necklace4. Two pictures of of three by Meher5. Annu Kesharwani, white rabbit6. Exact male who torture and kill pregnant women7. Arjun involvement in crimeLooking forward for Book:2 in this trilogy series, overall kaNsa turns out to be a perfect crime thriller, with decent story-line,well narrated, fit to screen-played, minor grammatical errors, nail biting page turner. Even the last page has an amazing twist that paves a thought for the upcoming one. kaNsa serves as reference for “Criminology” enthusiastLink:KaNsaRegardsKiran K Adharpuram

Book: ILA IS ONLINE – Preeti Vayada

Blurb:All mothers dream of their sons getting married, having children in a couple of years, and living happily ever after. But my dream was shattered into pieces, not to mention that it was because of a reason I cannot talk about in public.Well, after much thought and careful consideration, I have come to the realisation that it is not all over. Varun will get married. This time I will double check. Sameer told me that staying ‘Active’ on Facebook can help. The only problem is that I don’t know how to use Facebook. But how difficult can it be? If I can operate the washing machine and the smart TV, Facebook cannot be much harder. After all, Varun’s future at stake – and my name in society.Intrigue:“Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.” – This is the crux of this book. This is the story of “Ilaben Patel” conservative mother who wish to get his son varun married to Aakruthi which calls off due to strange circumstances ends her into the social media vicious circle. What’s next,Could she subsist the concomitant of the social media infirmity ?What decision Ila took in addressing those aftermath?Did Varun get married ?My Review:Blurb hints the essence of social media which is supported by Splendid book cover (Facebook blue background) with a marriage procession horse and a chat text “Ila is online”, this is not the story of protagonist Ila rather its a anecdote of every mother Whose children are already trapped amidst the evils of social media. I cant stop appreciating the author who picked up this idea. Every sentence explains the agony of mother of techno-freak kids. This book is first person(Ila) narration with a dash of comical aspect. Author never missed the theme of chucklesome in the entire plot. Characters are very well illustrated.Author conveyed different angle of motherhood of extant society. Its a different approach in conveying message to the readers. Undoubtedly this is a reference manual for the present day fraternity mothers.“I saw my mother in Ilaben Patel” – I hope that consolidatesI rate “ILA IS ONLINE – Preeti Vayada” a 4.5/5 which carries powerful message, humour, motherhood emotions, family bonding and desi style. Its worth reading as this is of different genre and you will never feel bored. Believe me you will never regret reading this treatise.RegardsKiran K Adharapuram

US CHINA (IMPORT TAX)

Followed by the founding of the People’s Republic of China, USA and China have a long period of estrangement. The relation between US and China is very strong yet complex. The relations here refer to the international relations between both the countries. There are a huge amount of trade between both the countries make it somewhat political positive relations, yet some significant issues exist. The relation between the two has been described as the world’s most important bilateral relationship of the century by the world leaders. The countries are neither friends nor foes. The United States and China are clearly not allies. The United States has sought to build positive, comprehensive and cooperative relations with China by expanding their areas of cooperation and also mutually agreeing to the areas of disagreement. There are four annual dialogues held between the United States and China; the Diplomatic and Security Dialogue, the Comprehensive Economic Dialogue, the Law Enforcement and cybersecurity Dialogue, and the Social and Cultural Issues Dialogue which serves as a unique platform to promote bilateral understanding, discuss differences, expand consensus, increase cooperation, and build mutual trust between the two. The United States has put great emphasis on the need for both countries to enhance bilateral trust through formal dialogues, high-level exchanges, and expansion of people ties to ties. The United States approach to its economic relations with China has two major elements which are integrating China into the global, rules-based trading and economic system and also expanding United States exporters' and investors' access to the Chinese market.Recently Trump has directed the US trade representative to level tariffs about $50 billion worth Chinese imports. The mainstream media has been full of these scenarios past few weeks concerning about the potential for a China-US trade war, given that the tariff impositions by United States President Donald Trump imposed upon China in order to stop steel dumping and to protect the American jobs. Trump has increased the tariffs on Chinese imports in order to pressurize China to reduce its tariff rates, regardless of the number of products provided by China to the United States of America where the profit margin is set by United States of America itself. In addition, Trump has also planned to impose new investment restrictions to take strict actions against China at the World Trade Organisation. The move, on the steel and aluminum tariffs also took aim at China, which is heightening concerns of a global trade war that could destabilize the global economy. The US is planning to continue to engage diplomatically with China to reduce the trade imbalance between both countries. It is said that the tariffs would focus on the theft of US technologies. The investigation concluded that China has stolen United States companies into turning over their intellectual property through a series of state-run structural maneuvers, which includes its requirement for foreign companies partners with Chinese companies to access the Chinese market. The investigation has claimed that China has stolen US intellectual property by hacking US computer networks. According to the United States of America’s  International Trade Commission, the current average tariff on imports from China is about 3 percent. Low production costs in Latin America and Asia bring cheap goods in the United States of America, but tariffs would increase the cost of selling Chinese-made goods into the U.S. — which in fact appears to be Trump's goal. Administration officials have expressed concerns about China’s growing ambitions in industries like semiconductors, telecommunications equipment, and other high-tech exports. The tariff rates imposed by China has been measured and it was found out that it has been hit back at exactly the same voters that Trump is eagerly protesting. China has in fact taken a measured response to hurt Trump’s political base rather than swinging an ax over 1300 different products. China's Commerce Ministry on Friday urged the US to avoid placing bilateral trade ties in danger and also said they were not afraid of a trade war. Beijing's measures suspending tariff concessions will target 128 US products including pork, wines and seamless steel tubes and a 25-percent tariff on pork and recycled aluminum products. The Trump administration’s tax proposal, which is said to include cutting the corporate tax rate to 15 percent and also providing a one-time repatriation tax rate for trillions of dollars in the international earnings stashed overseas, is aiming at luring USA’s firms to remit overseas profits home and also to bring such operations back to the United States itself. The tax changes by the United States including the tariffs imposed on imports would tempt the Chinese manufacturers to now invest mostly in the United States of America and to sabotage the competitiveness of Chinese exports. The moto is for China to give up on an old growth model of its relying on exports and to increase its economic transformation. If the initiative of Trump’s maximum 15 percent corporate tax rate is approved by the US Congress, it could flash increased foreign investments into the United States of America. Also, re-shoring of USA’s businesses would be happening to create a shock to the global and Chinese economy as a whole. China might have to cut its own domestic corporate tax in this possible case. The tariffs imposed by the United States on China will not only affect China but it might hurt other countries too as it is true that China exports a lot of steel to the United States but more than that Brazil, Canada, Mexico and other countries do. The metals are used in a huge range of industrial applications that include cars and infrastructures. It is questionable that the imports might pose a threat to the natural security of the country. The United States is the world biggest steel importing country in the world. The top shipment of steel is done by Canada. But the ones affected by this also includes Japan and South Korea. China is not one of the Top 10 countries from which the United States imports steel. In fact, it is not even included in the Top 10 list of steel importers. It is said by trade experts that if Trump goes that route, even U.S. allies like Canada, South Korea, Mexico could be willing to stick tariffs of their own on U.S. exports like agricultural products, or picking non-U.S. goods — like Airbus planes over Boeing models. Beijing is said to take necessary measures to protect its interests if the final decision of the United States affects the country. The unfinished products made from steel are sent to South Korea and Vietnam where the workers put the final touch on the products and ships the finished products to the United States. After that, it is marked as a Vietnamese or Korean import. If that path is closed it indirectly affects China. If Trump invokes Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act, as is recommended, then it is said that he tends to believe that it is hurting the natural security. Trump must respond to the reports by April 11 and 19 for steel and aluminum, respectively to avoid the risk of trade wars and the threat of natural security being imposed on the country.

INDIAN ELECTION
 Suraj Kumar
 1 April 2018

Indian ElectionElections is basically a decision which is taken by the public to choose an individual to run a district, state or a country. Elections not only help in forming a government but it also helps in private organizations. The election came in practice from the Vedic period. The king used to elect another king from their sons. At that time there was no role of the public in elections. When the country did not get free and there was British rule in India, elections were held at that time also. But when India got independent, Indian public also got an opportunity to participate in the electoral process and to vote his/her choice of an individual. The process of vote transactions is called the election which is used to maintain the status of democracy.  These political programs began to establish in the year 1950 and were established in the form of the non-lateral program. In 70’s election were held after every 5 years. The election commission is the main functioning body which conducts and regulates the election. The schedule is also prepared by the election commission. This commission is a constitutional body. It prepares the electoral rolls, voter id cards and makes an election booth where the public can come and vote for their individual. This body keeps an eye on everything happening in a booth so that no discrepancy should occur. It also appoints staff for supervising the election. The commission issues some code of conduct and all the party have to strictly follow certain codes. These code of conduct are basically some guidelines which need to be followed by political parties and candidates. On the day of the election, people used to visit the booth and vote for their candidate either through ballot paper method or electronic method. The voting is done area wise and once the process voting is completed the counting of votes are done in the presence of candidates. The one who gets the largest number of votes is declared elected by the district magistrate. The scenario of Indian election- In India, a person above the age of 18 has the right to vote and play a prominent role in forming a government. The preparation of election starts in advance. Every party finds a way to convince people to vote them by making banners, poster or organizing rallies and meeting people and giving a speech to convince them. Some also try to convince people by going door to door for votes. There is a chief officer is assigned to each and every polling booth who supervise all the arrangements and ensures that voting is done fairly and smoothly.  The voting begins in the morning and ends at 5pm. But there are some parties who use unfair means of getting votes. These parties give money to poor people and many more things just for getting votes.  They create a political atmosphere. Just because of these guys India is not able to grow. Today everyone wants to be an engineer or a doctor but no one wants to be a politician. In fact, everyone just ignores the politics happening in front of them just by thinking why to dip our hands in this. In my point of view a sweeper is much better than these politicians, at least he dumps in sewage and cleans the dirt of the city. After 70 years of independence also India is said to be a backward country and the reason is public. We are the one encourages corruption and for some money, we give a vote to the wrong party who does not deserve to be elected. We are the one who thinks of ourselves and not about our country and just say that politics has ruined our country. Its neither politics nor corruption it's we who have destroyed our country. In India, there are many ways through which unfair polling is done. Either the politicians bribe the public or they give them warning to give them vote or else they will hurt them or their respective family members. Even these politicians bribe the officials to change the counting of the vote. No one knows how they did but they did it.    Constitution of India is the supreme law and this law is been copied by other countries law. Our constitution is a compilation of many countries law and this shows why India is still a developing country. India is a democratic country, we are secular and we must have a separate constitution. If this change is done it might change our country.Apart from this India is captured by reservation also. Even in elections reservation quota is there in which some Lok Sabha seats are allocated to reserved category. In India’s Parliament, there are 543 seats and out of which 84 are reserved for another category. This reservation is now misused by the politicians for their vote bank. The politicians have an added advantage over this category for their vote bank. They support a reserved category to get some votes. This nuisance is supported by them just for a vote. Reservation is a painkiller. Instead of killing the problem, nipping it in the bud, they hide the symptom and harm the body in the long run. Reservations by design, cannot help those who are genuinely oppressed, but only those who are incompetent.Importance of voting-Voting is important because it gives the right to a common person to choose his or her ruler. The public gets an indirect control over the functioning of government and they also have the power to raise a voice against unfair meansVoting is our right and we all should actively participate in the election and only then we’ll have good governance.Today India is also on his knees and it needs someone to who can run this country properly. If we all can come together and fight for GST then we all can also fight for corruption. First, we need to change ourselves then only we can change the world. Instead of promoting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan first we should look inside ourselves and become a Swachh person then only India can become Swachh.

He also accentuated the need for non-violence within a political party. World Health Day

 2 April 2018

World health dayThe World Health Day is celebrated on 7th of April every year. This day is celebrated for awareness of the global health. The World Health Day is been the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as other related organizations. The World Health Organization (WHO) has there theme, slogan and hashtag for their organization are:Theme for World Health Day is: Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere The slogan is: “Health for All”. The primary hashtag that we are using is : #HealthForAll but look out for posts using #WorldHealthDay as well. The World Health Organization held the First World Health Assembly in the year 1948. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950 after 2 years, as the World Health Day. World Health Day is acknowledged by various governments and non-governmental organizations with interests in public health issues, who also organize activities and highlight their support in media reports, such as the Global Health Council. The World Health organizes decided a particular theme for the international, regional and local events on this Day. They have the different theme every year related to their aspect. If we talk about the theme of the World Health Day then we have numbers of year passed with the different theme for the world. Every theme is related to securing your health with different problems. We are celebrating World Health Organization since 1948 till now, long 70 years. Recent themes that are been taken for this day they are; in the year 2014 the theme was taken on the disease Vector-borne meaning of this was a small bite, big threat. In the year 2015, the theme was taken Food safety so that people could eat healthy food. In the year 2016, the theme was taken Halt the rise, this was related to beat diabetes. a largely preventable and treatable non-communicable disease that is rapidly increasing in numbers in many countries, most dramatically in low- and middle-income countries. Simple lifestyle measures have been shown to be effective in preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes, including maintaining normal body weight, engaging in the regular physical activity, and eating a healthy diet. Diabetes can be controlled and managed to prevent complications through diagnosis, self-management education, and affordable treatment. The WHO estimates about 422 million people in the world have diabetes, with the disease the direct cause of some 1.5 million deaths. The goals of WHD 2016 are scaled up prevention, strengthen care, and enhance surveillance. In the year 2017 the theme was taken Depression: Let's talk because the condition affects people of all ages, from all walks of life, in all countries. It impacts on people’s ability to carry out everyday tasks, with consequences for families, friends, and even communities, workplaces, and health care systems. At worst, depression can lead to self-inflicted injury and suicide. A better understanding of depression – which can be prevented and treated – will help reduce the stigma associated with the illness, and lead to more people seeking help. Talking about the upcoming World Heath Day the theme has been decided is Universal Health Coverage. This topic has been taken so that they could cover all different type of problem of the people. The World Health Organization was founded on the principle that all people should be able to realize their rights to the highest possible level of health.“Health for all” has therefore been our guiding from 70 years. It’s also the impetus behind the current organization wide drive to support countries in moving towards the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The organization will maintain a high profile focus on (UHC) events through 2018, starting on the World Health Day on 7th of April with global and local conversations about ways to archive health for all.So it has been decided that in this 70th anniversary year, World Health Organization is calling on the world leaders to live up to the pledges they made when they agreed on the Sustainable Development Goals in the year 2015, and commit to concrete steps to advance the health of all people. This means ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship. Experience has illustrated, time and again, that Universal Health Coverage is achieved when political will is strong. Throughout 2018, we aim to inspire UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by highlighting policymakers’ power to transform the health of their nation, framing the challenges as exciting and ambitious, and inviting them to be part of the change.Throughout 2018, we aim to Motivate UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by sharing examples of how countries are already progressing towards UHC and encourage others to find their own path.Throughout 2018, we aim to Guide UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by providing tools for structured policy dialogue on how to advance UHC domestically or supporting such efforts in other countries. If we talk about some of the countries have already made significant progress towards universal health coverage. But half of the world’s population is still unable to obtain the health services they need. If countries are to achieve the decided target, then one billion people need more to benefit from UHC by 2023.this is the achievement target year has been decided by the UHC.World Health Day will shine a spotlight on the need for UHC and the advantages it can bring. WHO and its partners will share examples of the steps to take to get there through a series of events and conversations held at multiple levels. As it has been said by the Director General “No one should have to choose between death and financial hardship. No one should have to choose between buying medicine and buying food.”Every people do not know that why this universal health day coverage matters for our countries? It is because the country that invites in UHC marks a sound investment in their human capital. In the recent years, UHC has emerged as a key strategy to make progress towards other health-related and border development goals. Access to essential quality care and financial protection not only enhance people’s health and life expectancy, it also protects countries from epidemics, reduces poverty and the risk of hunger, creates jobs, drives economic growth and enhances gender equality.Do everyone know that why World Health Day is been celebrated? World Health Day celebration focuses on increasing the life expectancy by adding good health to the lives of people and promoting healthier living habits. Youths of the new era are also targeted by this event to prevent and make them healthy to make the world healthy and free from AIDS and HIV.Disease spreading vectors like mosquitoes (malaria, dengue fever, filaria, chikungunya, yellow fever and etc), ticks, bugs, sand flies, snails and etc are also spotlighted by the WHO to make the world free from a wide range of diseases caused by parasites and pathogens. It provides better prevention and cure from the vector-borne diseases spread by vectors and travelers from one country to other. WHO supports various health authorities on global basis to make their own efforts for the public health problems to enhance better life without different diseases. It is generally done for the increase the public awareness of various causes and prevention of high blood pressure. So that they could give knowledge of getting prevented from various diseases and their complications. For encouraging the most vulnerable group of people to frequently check their blood pressure and follow medications from the professionals. The promotion of the self care among people. Motivate are the most important for the worldwide health authorities to make their own efforts in creating the healthy environments in their country. The protections of the families living in the disease vulnerable areas is necessary. We all celebrate World Health Day for our development of the body so that we could live healthy and safe life. So let’s celebrate World Health Day on 7th of April.

EARTH DAY- 22nd, April

 3 April 2018

International Mother Earth Day (or Earth Day)The Earth Day is celebrated on 22 April 2018 each year to celebrate the Mother Earth. Thus, Earth Day is to remind us of the importance of maintenance of the life balance.History:●US senator and environment enthusiast: Gaylord Nelson was the driving force behind the celebrations.●The idea came to Senator Nelson on witnessing the infamous 1969 oil spill in California.●The spill took a toll on the ecological system of California and the Outlook of the nation itself.●Driven by the desire to involve the youth in the cause of the environment. ●It was due to the reason that an ideal date i.e. 22 April was chosen (between the spring break as well as final examinations).●Initially, the event had just 20 million supporters and by the 90s the figure swelled up to 200 million.●Then came the path-breaking legislation in form of Rio Declaration of 1992. This legislation put more effort into economic, social and environmental reforms. ●Today, the figure of the followers is estimated to be beyond 1 billion.  As a result, each year volunteers gather to plant trees, ensure cleanliness of the vicinity and achieving success through sustainable goals. Earth Day 2018 Theme:Leading the process of change is the Earth Day Network. It has been decided to dedicate the celebrations this year to End Plastic Pollution. The organization is creating and finding support for ensuring utility. creating support for a global effort to eliminate single-use plastics along with global regulation for the disposal of plastics.  EDN will educate millions of people about the health and other risks associated with the use and disposal of plastics, including pollution of our oceans, water, and wildlife, and about the growing body of evidence that decomposing plastics are creating serious global problems. From poisoning and injuring marine life to the ubiquitous presence of plastics in our food to disrupting human hormones and causing major life-threatening diseases and early puberty, the exponential growth of plastics is threatening our planet’s survival. EDN has built a multi-year campaign to End Plastic Pollution.  Our goals include ending single-use plastics, promoting alternatives to fossil fuel-based materials, promoting 100 percent recycling of plastics, corporate and government accountability and changing human behavior concerning plastics.EDN’s End Plastic Pollution campaign includes four major components:Leading a grassroots movement to support the adoption of a global framework to regulate plastic pollution;Educating, mobilizing and activating citizens across the globe to demand that governments and corporations control and clean up plastic pollution;Educating people worldwide to take personal responsibility for plastic pollution by choosing to reject, reduce, reuse and recycle plastics, andPromoting local government regulatory and other efforts to tackle plastic pollution.Earth Day Network will leverage the platform of Earth Day and the growing interest in the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day in 2020 as a catalyst for global action.Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection.Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.may be hard to imagine that before 1970, a factory could spew black clouds of toxic into the air or dump tons of toxic waste into a nearby stream, and that was perfectly legal. They could not be taken to court to stop it.How was that possible? Because there was no EPA, no Clean Air Act, no Clean Water Act. There were no legal or regulatory mechanisms to protect our environment. In spring 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day as a way to force this issue onto the national agenda. Twenty million Americans demonstrated in different U.S. cities, and it worked! In December 1970, Congress authorized the creation of a new federal agency to tackle environmental issues, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.Earth Day began in America in 1970 as a day to celebrate the planet and encourage people to be more environmentally friendly. It is now an annual event and is widely regarded as the beginning of the modern environmental movement. Activities associated with the day often include planting trees, raising awareness about recycling, volunteering for green projects, and reducing the number of energy people consume. Earth Day is supported by a host of celebrities, including Leonardo Di Caprio, Emma Watson, Miley Cyrus and Matt Damon. Earth Day has become one of the most widely celebrated environmental events across the globe. On this day, events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. Currently, it is celebrated in more than 192 countries each year. It was originally celebrated at Spring Equinox around 21 March every day but now the United Nations has designated 22 April as the International Mother Earth Day. Earth Day Network coordinates this annual day across the globe.Earth Day is all about appreciating the uniqueness of our planet Earth with its incredible biodiversity. On this day various national and international activities are conducted to understand the biodiversity and how should we protect our nature – plants, animals, and environment.Today, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with numerous partners and communities in more than 192 countries to raise the environmental concerns and diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. Apart from this, a large number of communities celebrate Earth Week and create awareness among other people regarding environmental issues.Various Earth Day FactsEarth Day Flag is called Ecology Flag. It was created by cartoonist Ron Cobb and was first published in the Los Angeles Free Press on 7 November 1969. The Ecology symbol resembles Greek letter theta and is a combination of the letters “E” and “O” taken from the words “Environment” and “Organism,” respectively. The flag consists of thirteen alternating-green-and-whites stripes with a symbol on the left-hand side. Earth Day Anthem is a universal song associated with Earth Day. Its lyrics are set to the tone of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” melody on which the official anthem of the European Union is based.“Joyful joyful we adore our Earth in all its wondermentSimple gifts of nature that all join into a paradiseNow we must resolve to protect herShow her our love throughout all timeWith our gentle hand and touchWe make our home a newborn worldNow we must resolve to protect herShow her our love throughout all timeWith our gentle hand and touchWe make our home a newborn world.”Earth Day became an international event on 21 March 1971, when UN’s Secretary-General U Thant spoke about it at a Peace Bell Ceremony at the United Nations in New York City. Since then, the United Nations Earth Day ceremony continues each year on the day of the vernal equinox (March 20th or 21st), with the ringing of the UN Peace Bell at the very moment of the equinox.More than 20 million people and thousands of local schools and communities participated in the first Earth Day of the United States that took place on 22 April 1970. This huge turnout made the first Earth Day as the largest organized celebration in the history of the United States. The success of Earth Day helped to influence the United States’ government to create stronger laws to protect the environment.Earth Day Network, the organization behind the Earth Day movement, works with over 22000 partners in more than 192 countries worldwide to raise environmental concerns. Today more than 1 billion people participate in earth day activities each year to make it one of the largest movements on earth.Earth Day 2000 combined the ambitious spirit of the first Earth Day with the international grassroots activism of Earth Day 1990. This was the year when Earth Day used the Internet to expand its reach and organize activists across several continents. The message was loud and clear and it proved invaluable domestically and internationally. In the year 2009, United Nations officially renamed Earth Day as International Mother Earth Day.On Earth Day 2012, more than 100,000 people rode bikes in China to reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel.Every year on April 22, men, women, children, groups and communities all around the world gather together and put all their efforts to collect garbage, plant saplings, encourage people to go for recycling, sign petitions and discuss issues to save this planet from depleting resources. In few places, earth day is celebrated throughout the week to expand its reach so that more people take part and put their efforts to preserve the environment.Earth Day SignificanceEarth Day is a day dedicated to increasing awareness about the Earth, its issues, and problems. Today, more than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. As a result of this remarkable event, various policy agreements and acts are sanctioned such as Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and many others.Earth Day has gained significant significance in the past. This is due to the fact that people have been witnessing the shortage of food, skyrocketing fuel prices, increased global warming and changing weather patterns. It is a day that acknowledges the importance of our planet. People come to know about the contemporary environmental issues such as global warming, depleting resources etc. Both adults and kids become conscious about the strategies and tactics which they can adopt in day-to-day life to ensure cleaner environments.Various suggestions are brought to light about recycling, energy conservation, increasing plant and tree growth, save water, respect nature, reduce toxins in the air, keep the environment clean, reduce air pollution, planting trees and flowers to increase oxygen and love and respect towards all animals who inhabit the earth. There are small ideas with the huge impact such as – plant a tree every year, switch off the light when not in use, use recyclable bags for grocery shopping etc. presented during Earth Day celebrations.Apart from the individual households, even companies are encouraging their employees to contribute their part when it comes to saving this planet from degradation. Making use of public transportation, carpooling to reduce pollution, switching off AC after office hours, motivating people to take less printouts, using renewable sources to generate power, allowing employees to engage in tele or video conferencing, using CFL lights  and bulbs, extracting geothermal energy to heat up office buildings are few of the initiatives companies are taking to save energy and make this planet safe for our future generations. On the transportation side, companies are now manufacturing and selling hybrid and electric cars that do not make use of petrol or diesel to run. New technologies are coming in which are making these cars at par with that of cars running on petrol and diesel. If people implement some of these and make changes in their behaviors towards Mother Earth, then we would be able to make our planet a much better place to live in – also for coming generations.

The Padma Bhushan awards are announced on the eve of Republic Day on 26th of January every year. The award recipients of Padma Bhushan are recorded in The Gazette of India, a publication that is released every week by the Department of Publication. The award recipient whose awards are restored or revoked is also registered in The Gazette. Such actions are taken by the Government of India and such awardees are to surrender their medals when and if their names are struck from the register. The original specification of the Padma Bhushan was a circle which was made of standard silver with rims on both side and a lotus flower was centrally located with Padma Bhushan engraved in Devanagari script. Later on, the award was modified to a circular shaped bronze toned medal where the lotus is carved on the obverse side of the medal and the word the Padma is placed above the word Bhushan below the lotus in Devanagari script. The emblem of India is also placed with the text Satyamev Jayate written in Devanagari script. In the past, the Padma Bhushan and other prestigious awards were only given by the recommendations of the politicians or ministers but the government has now made it open for nomination. The suggestions for the awards are received online on the portal padmaawards.gov.in which is drafted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. There are a lot of unacknowledged real-life heroes who have done exceptional works in their respective fields and deserved such a national honor and respect. The recipients of Padma Bhushan award include Rajesh Khanna, Jagjit Singh, Aamir Khan, R.K. Narayan, Naseeruddin Shah, Satyajit Ray, Ratan Tata and many more. Recently on 2nd April 2018 Mahendra Singh Dhoni, one of the most successful former captain of the Indian cricket team was conferred with the prestigious third highest civil honor, the Padma Bhushan. The award ceremony was coincidentally held on the seventh anniversary of the World Cup triumph, which turned out to be a happy coincidence for Dhoni. What brought the excitement to the next level is that the former captain of India who holds the rank of Honor Lieutenant Colonel was dressed up in his official military uniform and marched past the dignitaries who were present at the Rashtrapati Bhawan to receive the prestigious Padma Bhushan from President Ram Nath Kovind. The 37-year-old former Indian captain is the second Indian cricketer to receive this honor after Kapil Dev. Dhoni has received a lot of awards before which includes the ICC ODI player of the year award in 2008 and 2009, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007 and also the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honor in 2009. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India won the 2011 ICC World Cup and also the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He was also the first captain to win all three ICC limited over trophies and also led India to top of the rankings. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was nominated for the Padma Bhushan Awards by the BCCI with a unanimous decision for his excellent contribution in the field of cricket. Dhoni is considered as one of the most successful captains of the Indian Cricket Team. It was a very proud moment for all the Dhoni fans to watch him receive such a great honor. Along with Dhoni, Pankaj Advani was also awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan on 2nd April 2007 at the Rashtrapati Bhawan by the President Ram Nath Kovind. Advani is considered as the best snooker/billiards player to come out of India. Advani has won eight world titles in as many years and a total of 19. Pankaj Advani was nominated by the Billiards and Snooker Foundation of India. He has also been awarded the Padma Shri in 2009, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2006 and Arjuna Award in 2004. He has held Asian, World and Indian National Championship titles simultaneously. He is known as India’s first World Champion in the 6 red-snooker.However, some bestowals of Padma Bhushan have been returned or refused by the recipients due to national interest or personal reasons. The first person to refuse the Padma Bhushan was Sisir Kumar Bhaduri, Bengali theatre activists in 1959 due to personal reasons. Some famous refusals included Vilayat Khan, Romila Thapar, Sitara Devi, Salim Khan, and Phanishwarnath Renu. Padma Bhushan awards are renowned awards that are a given as a token of appreciation to the citizens of our country to glorify the work contributed by them and to inspire the future generations to thrive towards the progression of our country by excelling in their talents but we should also remember that the awards should not be taken as an outright rationale behind the work as it is the hard work and skill of an individual that is remembered.

Bharat Bandh- Dalit OutRage
 Suraj Kumar
 4 April 2018

At least nine persons were killed and scores injured Monday as Dalit anger exploded on the streets in different parts of the country on the day the Centre filed a petition in the Supreme Court, asking it to review its March 20 order that called for changes in the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.Protesting this alleged dilution of the law, Dalits tried to enforce a Bharat Bandh and its impact was felt most in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Punjab. They repeatedly clashed with police and blocked rail and road traffic at several places. In the violence that followed, vehicles and public properties, including police posts, were torched.Places in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana witnessed buses being set on fire, trains stopped, curfews imposed and internet services restricted, even as police cane-charged protesters. The Centre has already filed a review petition against the changes made to the Act by the SC to "prevent its misuse", and Union Law MinisterRavi Shankar Prasad on Monday said the government will argue the matter with “full authority”.But the protests we are witnessing across most of the country are not just over the Act. They are born of an anger that has been gathering momentum over the years — sparked by various incidents and allowed to fester, even aggravated, by an insensitive government.According to the latest available National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, crimes against SCs went up by 5.5 percent in 2016 (40,801) over 2015 (38,670). Crimes against Scheduled Tribes saw a spike of 4.7 percent, (6,568 in 2016 over 6,276 in 2015). According to a study of the same data, in India, a crime is committed against Dalits every 15 minutes, and six Dalit women are raped every day.Of these thousands of incidents, some emerged as flashpoints over the past two-three years, witnessing a coming together of Dalits and the emergence of a younger, vocal leadership.Dalit groups across the country have taken to the streets, declaring a “Bharat Bandh” in response to the alleged “dilution” of the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989, after the Supreme Court on March 20, 2018, banned automatic arrests and registration of criminal cases under the legislation which seeks to protect members of scheduled castes and tribes against discrimination and abuse. On the one hand, Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, under pressure from both the Opposition and within the NDA announced that the government does not agree with the Supreme Court's decision and has filed a strong, comprehensive review petition. (Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi had said, “It is in the DNA of the RSS/BJP to keep Dalits at the lowest level in Indian society. Anyone who challenges this thought is crushed with violence. Our Dalit brothers and sisters are today on the streets demanding protection of their rights from the Modi Government. We salute them.”)On the other hand, the agitations on the street have taken a turn for the violent.Madhya PradeshAs per reports, the protests have left four dead in Madhya Pradesh's Morena, adding that curfew had been imposed in the area. In Madhya Pradesh, curfew was also imposed in parts of Gwalior and Section 144 (prohibiting assembly of more than four people in the area) in Sagar. Madhya Pradesh's Bhind also witnessed stone pelting and vandalism. Shots were also fired during protests in Gwalior.PunjabIn Punjab, the Amarinder Singh government has stepped up security measures, including deferring the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examinations. "Taking cognizance of the letter of the director general (school education), the CBSE decided to postpone all class 12 and 10 examinations scheduled for April 2, 2018, in the state of Punjab," it said in a statement issued late in last night. The Punjab government also ordered the suspension of bus services and mobile internet services.Delhi and Uttar PradeshAs per a PTI report, Dalit protesters squatted on tracks in several places outside Delhi, stopping trains, including the Dehradun Express and the Ranchi Rajdhani, as part of their agitation. Many trains, such as Saptakranti Express, Utkal Express and the Bhubaneswar and Ranchi Rajdhani as well as the Kanpur Shatabdi, were stopped ahead of Ghaziabad in Meerut and Modinagar.Clashes also broke out between the protesters and the police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Mobs also disrupted trains at the Hapur station, where the movement of many goods trains was affected.Other statesAnd not just MP, things are far from calm across the country. In Jaipur, Rajasthan, a showroom was vandalized. In addition, clashes between the protestors and the police broke out in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Protestors in Odisha's Sambalpur blocked the movement of trains. As violence remains unchecked, reports suggest that at least three people, including two policemen, were injured during a “lathi charge” in Ajmer, Rajasthan after the protestors attacked first with stones.Reports also suggest that a youth died in police firing in Alwar and internet services have been suspended in the area. While there has been criticism for the arson, the vandalism, and the violence, the “Bharat Bandh” in general has received the support of many. After all, atrocities against Dalits, Bahujans, and Adivasis in the country have certainly seen a spike — it is hard to deny this sad reality considering the year began with mass violence against Dalits in Bhima-Koregaon.The merits, demerits and the inconveniences of a countrywide “bandh” can debate all day long. What is, however, more important, is to understand the potential harm caused by the Supreme Court in its attempt to “prevent misuse of law”.The SC/ST Act remains in place because of millennia of systemic oppression that continues to make its presence felt even in this supposed “post-caste” India of 2018.

ANNA HAZARE STRIKE
 Suraj Kumar
 4 April 2018

ANNA HAZARE STRIKEAnna Hazare (born 1937) a social activist, who has always contributed to various economic issues and several anti-corruption movements including Indian Government Transparency, rural development, agrarian distress, etc. Kissan BabuRao Hazare came to be known as ANNA for his support and work. Anna Hazare always calls the attention of people throughout the nation for his protests and movements for poor people. Anna Hazare has raised his voice for many causes such as village development, agrarian problems, farmer's debt etc.Once again he has grabbed headlines and has led to an anti-corruption movement and sat on an indefinite hunger strike on 23rd of March, 2018 in order to exert pressure on the government which has not been able to finalize Lokpal Bill to investigate cases of corruption and ensures better production cost for farm produce. No doubt that his fast is the first real social networking movement which successfully attracted the attention of people throughout India. His weapon is surely very potent. Thousands of people came to Ramlila Maidan to show their support to Anna Hazare.1500 people gathered on the first day of the strike. This number kept on increasing every day of the strike. His strike captured attention throughout the globe. Only a few civil activists have gained this much attention.Jan Lokpal Bill or Citizen's Ombudsman Bill drawn up by Anna Hazare intended to appoint an independent body to investigate corruption cases. But unfortunately, even after the bill was passed by Supreme Court in India, the Act is not implemented properly, thus it creates no difference at all before or after passing the bill. This bill is one of the most widely discussed and debated topics in India. Passing of this bill should have generated an independent corruption detective system and protected a number of whistleblowers. His movement caught the attention of millions of Indians and shook the head of government. He began his protest on 23rd of March at Ramlila Maidan. Millions of people joined him in his protest. He tried every possible way to put a pressure on the government for setting up of Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in states, not only this, he has also demanded the proper implementation of Swaminathan  Commission report. Swaminathan commission reports had suggestions for “faster and more inclusive growth” for farmers. A report suggests that 7 to 8 of the 11 main demands put forth by Hazare were agreed upon. 2011 struggle had led to pass the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act, 2013 but even after so much struggle and agitation, all the hard work gone in vain as the act was not properly implemented. After giving Dharna at Rajghat, he reportedly marched at Shaheedi Park and from there to Ram Lila Maidan. Anna Hazare started his protest on 23rd deliberately as this is the anniversary of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev’s hanging to death. Delhi police had issued an advisory warning to avoid taking routes towards Aruna Asaf Ali Road, Darya Ganj, ITO, JLN Marg, Delhi Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Paharganj, Vivekanand Marg, Rajghat, Minto Road, New Delhi Railway Station. Some of the developments around Anna Hazare’s fast against the Modi government adds to the limelight of people throughout the nation. Anna Hazare refused any political party to join his movement. He declared that anyone who joins the movement won’t ever conduct elections. He also slammed Government to cancel the trains carrying protesters, he further added that by doing this the government wants to push the protesters into agitation. Hazare raised his finger at our Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he has failed to fulfill his promises made to farmers and also on lokpal. He further added that after sending 21 letters to the prime minister, he got no response at all. Although this time there weren’t even 50% of people as there were in the 2011 strike because firstly it is related to farmers and secondly majority of the people are satisfied with central government’s work. However, his dedication and hard work have paid well as the government has promised to look after all the issues and decided to fulfill all his demands as early as possible. The six-day long fast, after talking with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra and Union Minister of state for Agriculture Gajendra Singh, Anna Hazare ended his hunger strike on Thursday. Supreme Court asks Delhi, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Telangana, and other states to specify the time when they will appoint Lokayukta. The government assured Anna Hazare that all his demands will be taken care of. He further added that if all our demands are not taken into consideration then we will again start our protest strike.

DHARM KI STHAPNA

Respected Sirs,SUBJECT :- Cleaning of Society by Confession and Forgiving, Opportunity of Self Punishment or PRAYSCHIT, ReformationDHARM KI STHAPNA, is the hour of need. We are in minus, having numerous problems. How much minus? Unascertainable, endless ? Where to start to overcome these problems, no definite way is visible ? One major problem is of dishonesty. I hereby take liberty to suggest a way to overcome this problem. We may try to build a platform. We may restart our civilization. First, we declare ourselves to be on Zero. At different times, Government had launched Voluntary Disclosure of Income and Wealth Schemes (called VDS, VDIS, VIDS, Amnesty, etc.), first in 1951, second & third in 1965, fourth in 1975 and fifth in 1997. The broad objectives of all the VDSs were to unearth the undisclosed income & wealth, provide opportunity to the past evaders of tax to adopt the path of rectitude & civic responsibility, to mobilize resources and to channelise funds into priority sectors of the economy. Though the financial outcome of the VDSs of 1975 & 1997 might had been good, but, from the present scenario, you can very well visualize that, apart from collection of some earthed money (that too, of individuals own choice), none of the other objectives (in particular, returning to the path of rectitude & civic responsibility) were / have been achieved. Please introduce some more schemes. Scheme – I This time, scheme should be, not to only disclose the undisclosed income & wealth, but, a scheme of confession / declaration of every dishonesty / financial sin, including disclosure of all bad / black money / assets and surrender thereof. Percentage of surrender be fixed. Government will have to assign / designate this work to some department/s, which shall work as fast track courts in every district or even in rural areas, by taking cognizance of confession / declaration, by taking possession of surrendered money / assets, thereby implying compounding of offences, and forgiving / acquitting the declarant. However, such designated courts may have the power not to acquit such declarants, whose cases are linked with our Country’s security and integrity. This scheme be the last opportunity to us to return to the path of rectitude and civic responsibility. From the date of announcement of the scheme, dishonesty be put to strict vigil and immediate & deterrent punishment, which be continued for ever. After the closure of scheme, the non-declarants of bad / black money be searched, that money / assets be seized / disgorged and they be put for time bound trial before the fast track courts. Besides the black money in our Country, it has been reported (as read in newspapers) that the black money of over Rs.25 (some say Rs.70) Lakhs Crores of our Country was stashed in Swiss banks. This staggering amount of black money is a big hole in the national exchequer and the same can be diverted to the Country’s growth. Amazingly, each of 6 Lakhs villages in our Country would get a share of Rs.4 to Rs.10 Crores if the full amount of black money is retrieved, only from Swiss banks. Now is the time for Government to regain the black money, for which, aforesaid proposed scheme may be first used. Scheme – II In criminal cases, guilt may be divided in 5 categories e.g. negligible guilt, minor guilt, middle class guilt, major guilt and very major guilt. Cases may be discontinued / acquitted in the event of negligible guilt. Offences of minor and / or middle class guilt may be decided by consent orders by payments of expenses / costs & monetary penalties to the courts and damages / compensation to the complainants, by the accuseds. Cases of major guilt and very major guilt be decided in a maximum period of 02 years (one year at Lower Court, six months at High Court and six months at Supreme Court). Scheme – III All the civil disputes be first referred to system of jury / arbitration, where jury members / arbitrators, in each dispute, should first work towards an amicable settlement / conciliation and if the parties do not settle amicably, jury members / arbitrators will pronounce Order / Arbitration Award. Thereafter, there may be time bound court proceedings of maximum one year, upto the level of Supreme Court. This had been provided in CPC Amendment Bill of year 2000, which, probably, was put in THANDA BASTA / scrapped. Decree and Execution be clubbed. All, at least by heart, will welcome, these schemes, because they will have the opportunity for GANGA SANAN. Over 3 Crores cases are pending in courts across our Country. Clearing the backlog of cases is one of the biggest challenges. These schemes will substantially reduce the number of cases and will ease the burden of judiciary and all concerned & investigating departments of Government. Only by honesty, all plans of Government will truly reach to goal, including vision of Rural India. When honesty will prevail, there will be action (KARM) and that action will be in right direction & spirit. Government should do it. Victory is where justice reigns. With regards, Sincerely yours
