Chhaupadi:an inhuman practice
 1 April 2019

Chhaupadi (Nepali: छाउपडी )It is a social tradition associated with the menstrual taboo in the western part of Nepal. The tradition prohibits Hindu women from participating in normal family activities while menstruating, as they are considered "impure". The women are kept out of the house and have to live in a cattle shed or in a hut. This period of time lasts between ten and eleven days when an adolescent girl has her first period; thereafter, the duration is between four and seven days each month. As per the social custom, women who are unmarried have to stay six days in the hut, married women having both a son and a daughter have to stay five days, and women who have only daughters will have to live for seven days in the hut. During this time, women are forbidden to touch men or even to enter the courtyard of their own homes. They are barred from consuming milk, yogurt, butter, meat, and other nutritious foods, for fear they will forever pollute those goods. The women must survive on a diet of dry foods, salt, and rice. They cannot use warm blankets and are allowed only a small rug; most commonly, this is made of jute (also known as burlap). They are also restricted from going to school or performing daily functions like taking a bath. They are not even allowed to bathe from the tap, in wells or rivers during that period of time. In some villages, there are separate taps and wells for the women. They are completely barred from going near the temple; if a road is even linked to a temple, a menstruating woman has to choose a different path. This system comes from the superstition of impurity during the menstruation period. In this superstitious logic, if a menstruating woman touches a tree, it will never again bear fruit; if she consumes milk, the cow will not give any more milk; if she reads a book, Saraswati, the goddess of education, will become angry; if she touches a man, he will be sick. There is a strong belief among locals that if women are allowed to stay inside the home during their menstrual period it would bring misfortunes for members of family and the family members will fall sick. Male members of the family believe the custom must be followed to avoid any bad luck. Senior members of families and village elders are firm in this tradition, while the young, educated generation cannot gather the courage to challenge this custom.Reports indicate that more than 90 percent of women in Nepal’s far-western and mid-western districts follow the Chhaupadi tradition, whether due to social pressure or according to their own wishes. As they are compelled to sleep in poorly constructed and dirty huts, these women face health problems and other risks. Woman who live in the huts are always at risk of diarrhea, pneumonia, and respiratory diseases. While living in the isolated huts, they also face the danger of attack by wild animals, snake bite or even abuse and rape by their fellow villagers. Women have died while performing the practice, including two young women in late 2016 who died from smoke inhalation and "carbon monoxide poisoning" from lighting fires to heat the shelters during cold weather.Following pressure from rights activists, last year Nepal’s parliament enacted a law labeling Chhaupadi a criminal act. As per the new law, people who force their family members to live in sheds are subject to legal actions. Nepal’s Supreme Court had directed the government to make laws criminalizing Chhaupadi all the way back in 2005; it took more than a decade to formulate the laws. Now that the laws are in place, the challenge is in effective implementation. It is not easy to implement laws to prevent long- standing customs like Chhaupadi. In comparison to the past, there have been some changes in urban areas but such practices are still rampant in rural areas. In this region, it is very  difficult to change the mindset of even educated people. Local politicians and political parties can play a vital role in creating awareness at the local level about the harms of this custom. However, politicians are often reluctant to highlight this issue because they fear of losing the support of common people. Parliamentarians rarely raise such issues in the national parliament; instead they want to conceal such social issues. Some non-governmental organizations at the local level and some government agencies are creating awareness, asking people to shun Chhaupadi, but due to the lack of support and backing from politicians, their campaigns have not been effective.Source: Kamal Dev Bhattarai (Kathmandu-based writer and journalist)Rajabala

How Boarding Schools Enhance Students' Skill
 31 July 2019

Just as’Time never stops for anybody’ Likewise ‘Learning never ends at boarding schools’. Lessons extend beyond the walls of the classroom to encompass social skills, independence, tolerance, self-confidence & much more. That’s why top boarding schools like Ecole Globale & The Asian School, Dehradun aim to shift the focus away from purely academic education instead supporting the broader development of the whole person. Reich Hoffman once said, “I think boarding schools are like miniature versions of “Lord of Flies”.Listed below are some essential skills that need to be developed while studying in a boarding school.1. Independence & Personal ResponsibilityStudents in boarding schools learn how to become responsible for themselves & to their belongings/ possessions. In this way, they develop good characteristic traits like self-reliance, independence, forgiveness, etc.2. Promote Work ethics, Tolerance & Acceptance of societyBoarding schools teach children essential skills that they will need to thrive outside the classroom, school & in society. These schools have a well-deserved reputation/ name & fame for academic excellence that encourages in them disciplined work life & good study habits. For this, the part of the reason is the outstanding passion & professionalism of instructors that children will encounter in boarding schools.3. Healthy educative environment with safety & protectionResponsibility of a boarding school goes far beyond normal day schools. Boarding school has to ensure that children feel safe & protected while they get a healthy and progressive environment which is more conducive towards learning.Boarding schools enhance the performance of average & below average students as their teaching methods are different. They prepare students to move into the real world. They enhance students’ performance in different ways. Thus, in these ways boarding schools promote/enhance skills of students.Considering all these good factors in mind, there are 2 boarding schools in Dehradun which are world-wide famous for providing top-class education along with best residential facilities which include academic as well non-academic part. The Asian School in Dehradun is a co-educational day boardingschool which educates children form Nursery till Intermediate.  Opportunities here encourage students’ sense of environmental awareness & self-esteem. They are taught life survival skills & respect for nature.Ecole Globale International School is an exclusive all girls’ boarding school in Dehradun which is famous for offering good education to its students since its establishment. Situated in Dehradun this boarding school provides both academic & non-academic activities which help students in developing various life skills needed in their future life.CONCLUSION: Every child is different & unique, to some, social skills while boarding schools are also unique in their own most ways. Now, assume yourself, are boarding schools good for children or not?

Understanding of Behaviors of the Children Who Have Been Abused
 31 May 2019
Art

In the present times, the cases of children's abuse are frequent in the community due to the changes of family values and social problems. This issue is important as it touches many people who have children and want to protect them. To understand behaviors of the children who have been abused one should analyze the psychological factors crucial for them. One can distinguish two kinds of abuse: physical and sexual. Children aging from 3 to 14 years old can undergo sexual and physical abusing. The behaviors of the children depend on the kind of abusing, ethnicity, gender and age. Moreover, verbal and non-verbal languages are the ways of revealing the differences between abused children. This research paper intends to study behaviors of the children who have been abused and analyze the psychological factors.Literature ReviewThere are a great deal of discussion posts towards this topic. Majority would agree that children who have been abused have their patterns of behavior that are characterized by non-verbal gestures. In addition, non-verbal behaviors can be the determinants of physical or sexual abuse that is revealed through interviewing. For example, using such method as interviewing it have been revealed the fact of abusing. Moreover, the participants of interviewing were stressed and depressed when they answered the questions about physical and sexual violence. In addition, indicators of physical disengagement and stress were progressing while positive emotions were decreasing. Consequently, non-verbal behavior can tell a lot about physical and sexual abuse of children. Non-verbal behavior includes gestures, body movement, language intonation, facial expressions and eye contact.Different kinds of physical evidence, photographic evidence, medical evidence and eyewitness are the ways of determining children's sexual abuse. These are independent measures that can provoke the necessary feelings, emotions and patterns of behavior of children who have been abused. One should mention that indicators of sexual abuse are diverse. They can include disclosure, sexual awareness, symptoms associated with trauma, fears, anxiety, mood changes, conduct problems and other behavioral changes. Furthermore, data from interviewing children is related to the negative experience that oppresses them and can lead even to suicide. In addition, there are such children who are offenders and admit their participation in sexual abuse. Consequently, they can also feel similar emotions. It is important to determine who is an offender and who is a victim as children are cunning and can hide information.Sexual abuse is harmful to the mental order of children. Younger children are more eager to tell about their stressful situations rather than teenagers who feel somalization, anxiety and depression. Therefore, interviewing should also correspond to ethnical, gender and age differences of children. Kathleen Ratican insists that shame and guilt can prevent children from being totally sincere during interviewing. Furthermore, one can see sexually abused children through their relationships with other people. In addition, abused children can be aggressive and hostile to those who interviewed them supposing them to be enemies. Facilitating disclosure and treatment approaches for helping sexually abused children.Sexual abuse is shameful, embarrassing and private topic for discuss. Thus, not all children can admit being sexually abused and provide the objectivity of interviewing. The factors that restrict the reliability and sincerity of interviews are gender, age and individual characteristics. However, one should not use such improper methods as reinforcement (rewards, punishments), social influence, asking suggestive questions to get the necessary information. Furthermore, sexually abused girls are opener comparing with boys by providing more details. Children between 4-6 years old can also give more information due to their trust and childish naivete?.Researches underline the importance of choosing techniques for interviewing children in sexual abuse cases. It is evident that after such negative experience children lose trust, therefore, it is important to establish the contact with them and provide friendly atmosphere. First of all, it is crucial to distinguish the kind of abuse, the reasons and consequences of the violent behavior. There are common patterns of behavior of children who have been abused. These are negative feelings, reservation, depression and hostility. To reveal the fact of sexual abuse in young children one should use play therapy, for example, dolls. However, there can be false answers where children can lie about their sexual or violent abuse. It can be related to their mental and psychological disorders or desire to attract attention of the adult people. In conclusion, one should say that interviewing is one of the best ways to understand behaviors of children who were sexually and physically abused. Interviewing should also correspond to ethnical, gender and age differences of children. Verbal and non-verbal languages can reveal the necessary information and provoke feelings related to physical and sexual abuse. Gender and age are the most important factors that influence children's answers during the interview. Disclosure, sexual awareness, symptoms associated with trauma, fears, anxiety, mood changes, conduct problems and other behavior changes refer to the types of behavior. One should say that every person has his/her individual characteristics that make him/her opener or more reserved. Consequently, girls can inform more details while interviewing, as they are too emotional. As to boys, they are more reserved and suspicious. Yet young children are the most sincere and trustworthy.

THE LANGUAGE OF VIOLENCE
 7 April 2018

Derrick Jensen, in his book “A language older than words” showcases a monologue of torturous life in the first chapter titled silencing. In a world of mixed ethnicities and cultures, jensen wishes to connect and hit homes of the readers with his nerve wrecking message about the existing mushrooming violence. Marveling environmental beauty and the reality of space, he traverses from his memories of the troubled past and guides us to his future and expeditions where he sought lying was the only route to mend his living. The implicit silence that lurks within the society now and since childhood then, is an act of living in a world distant from the truth. In our schooling years whence we all our free birds with no systemisation in our lives, we risk our hearts at the pleasures of being honest and innocent. The education we receive is a monopolistic game play to create disparity between what we are taught and what we experience and feel. The difference makes us stuck in a virtual world where there is a constant conflict between the residence of belief or sight. To survive from which, we must speak lies. With the passage of time, we get bound within the bountiful cultures of knowledge and monotony strikes our lives and we begin to settle. Settle for the way we work, the pattern in which we breathe, the space in which we travel. This life is ushered by physical, mental emotional oppression. However the contemporary era may be, we continue to deny the truth in reality and become mindless, deaf and mute to those in need. “the lies act as barriers to truth.”If one chose to speak, he would be silenced by the oppressing powers of culture, politics in the society. “Consider your own life, the ways you deny your own experience, the ways you have to deaden your own empathies to get through the day.” This subjugation of truth and self acceptance that has been hardwired in our lives sJensen snap shows flashes from his distraught childhood of extreme physical abuse, to which he was made accustomed to as they were ritualised by his father. Making him witness the rule of the powerful, he made jensen sit on the table, quietly, while he assaulted and victimised his family members. after this became a regime, jensen abandoned his belief system and gave up the fight for a change. His father, made him believe in a world which was made out of a figment of his imagination. To him, this ‘control’ over his thoughts and subsequently actions was ‘normal’. although The intensity of torture and pain inflicted over jensen was a customised service upon him done by his father;he was made to believe that this was the routine for him. Escaping from such incidences was a question of human dignity, more of all, his survival. How did he cater to this acute urge to survive? By lying.Jensen rightfully demonstrates how violence speaks the language of lies. “do not believe a word I write in this book, about my father, about the culture, about anything.” Jensen puts the reader in a state of epistemic ambivalence when he contradicts himself and his stories in an attempt to fabricate the truth. For even then, he wishes to make his ends meet. However unbelievable these covers may be, they must always serve as the barrier for truth to colour the horrid reality. He caged himself in a rock crystallized world where he chose silence over speech, calm over revolt and lies over truth. He quotes R.D Laing “ if our experience is destroyed we have lost our own selves” which is precisely jensen’s trial. By denying of it all being happened at the first place, he attempts on losing those memories. These fabrications are the only bread to the subjugated human, suffocating inside the uniform bars of falsehood.History reflects the human tendency to turn a blind eye and lie about the existence of the to existence of successive damaging events. The study from the Allport, Bruner and Jandorf , psychologists of the holocaust and the transformation of the oppressed, from victims to survivors, is hard hitting one. In that period of constant misery and turmoil, steadily victims adapted to their fate, they became tolerant. This tolerance came by the harvest of escapism in their sweet, small endeavors as a mechanism for survival. They found their abode in mozart, business trips and leisure at the countryside. This helped them carve out their world of facades and live in an unreal reality. Jensen attempts the same by reaching out to the naturally expressive yet unspeaking and unhearing stars and moons. “I did not die because they spoke to me.”Jensen snap shows flashes from his distraught childhood of extreme physical abuse, to which he was made accustomed to as they were ritualised by his father. Making him witness the rule of the powerful, he made jensen sit on the table ,quietly, while he assaulted and victimised his family members. By staining his head, instead of painting a fresh leaf, it became a regime, jensen abandoned his belief system and gave up the fight for a change. This helped them carve out their world of facades and live in an unreal reality. By staunch He reaches out to the time when humans see but don’t acknowledge, hear but not listen and register quite what happens around them. He talks of a time when if a grenade were to roll across on the floor, it humans won’t realize it and turn a blind eye to them. Grease, oil and barrels all of which are uncommon to an average working class human, would be highly common. To the dockworkers and factory-men and thus, dangers in a mill would be shortly adjusted to their lifestyle. They too live in a little world of their own lies, ruled by terror but governed by their own escape.Humans are the tenants of the hyperbole of their deception and by each passing moment of progression or digression they save themselves by being stagnant in their own times. . There are atrocities, havocs, desirous activities, disasters and other moments of upheavels for an average human, imagining an illusionary universe can provide a necessary escape. Hence comes the dire need for adopting false mechanisms. False mechanism provides a fraudulent environment which is subjective to everyone, even if so in reality there is a mass in the common pit. In Jensen’s state of constant denial and neglect of reality, he dwells on his experience and faded memories, even while trying to let go of it. They are always arriving in a constant state of departure. We are silencing the reality which begs our interest and action. And even though we go on eons and eons, we are only here for the fraction of fraction of a second and so we stand in a pool of human built subdued untruths. A pool of veils on truth,  made by the subject hood of individuals ,granted to it by the society to facilitate existence. After all the romanticism of relativity theory lies in the passage of time which depends directly as to where we are standing. In past, present, future or just an unreal world decorated by lies of our own.

Boost Your Self Confidence Through Trekking
 27 May 2019

Apart from many physical benefits, trekking also helps you in improving the mental as well as psychological health. To know more read the following article. In the last few years trekking in India has witnessed a huge surge in its popularity. And this led to the importance of distinct trekking tours in India such as trekking in Ladakh, Triund, Parashar Lake, etc. Though people have been following it as a trend there are multiple health benefits associated with it as well. It is easy to guess the physical benefits that include improved heart health, effective breathing, stamina, strength, etc. But there are psychological and mental benefits as well that boosts the self-confidence of an individual.Let’s examine how trekking boost self-confidence:Relieves stress: Hectic meetings, deadlines, performance, etc. all these burden the mind with stress which is the source of various health issues. Trekking, on the other hand, distracts the mind from a chaotic lifestyle and gives you space to breathe. For example, trekking in Nepal in amidst of the Himalayas helps you forget the stress and allures you towards the beauty of mountains. This releases endorphins responsible for relieving stress in the body and mind and ultimately makes you happy.Improves outlook: Negativity, unwillingness, anxiety, etc. often blocks the mind and doesn’t let you focus on the work. Whereas, trekking gives you the opportunity to drift these negativities away and focus on the necessary things. You may be trekking in hills, valleys, beaches, forests, etc. it helps you focus on the details of the environment which changes your outlook. It replaces negativity with positivity and feeds energy to the mind and body.Detoxifies digitally: Being digitally active all the time is another way that blocks the thinking capability of the mind and affects the nervous system. Going on a trek helps you detoxify digitally. It reconnects you with nature and brings awareness to the mind as well as body. This enhances the performance at work, communication skills and teaches compassion towards self and others.Strategic planning: Trekking is the most uncertain experience therefore it introduces you to the challenges that may come in the way. It helps you understand the challenges that may come, how to combat and ultimately win over them. As you gain experience, it helps you plan strategically for the trek as well as for life. Moreover, it helps in building managerial skills such as leadership, strategy management, resource planning, etc. To challenge your managerial skills trekking in Ladakh is the best trek route in India.Builds social circle: There can be a possibility that you are good at work but shy to build relations at work. Trekking helps you connect with people from around the globe to share thoughts and express yourself. You may either trek alone and be friends with a bunch of unknown trekkers and make connections for life. You may also trek with your colleagues, friends, family, etc. You will be benefited either way.Develops spirituality: Not many people can remember the last time they peek into their spiritual souls. The struggle between your personal and social life restricts you for the same. But if you are trekking in India, it isn’t that difficult to connect with the spiritual self. The river bank of the holy river Ganga, temples in India, trekking to the religious destinations helps you discover the spiritual self.Enhances efficiency: Since stress is relieved, the outlook is improved, digitally detoxified, strategic planning is improved, etc. All these eventually have positive effects on performance at work. Trekking helps you focus and concentrate on things for longer, sharpen your abilities and skills and helps you rediscover yourself. This enhances efficiency at work or at home. All the above-mentioned reasons shape the overall personality of an individual and hence, boost the self-confidence.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.31
 28 July 2019

Take Charge - In Gita Verse 2.31 Considering your specific duty as a kṣatriya, you should know that there is no better engagement for you than fighting on religious principles; and so there is no need for hesitation.Krishna is a person who lives into this world and taking all the responsibility - social and spiritual. What he says when we take birth we have social responsibility to fulfill. With the maturity, means through subjectivity. If he will not fight this war then may be for few years all these people will live but the message of the universe cannot be delivered. So all the future generations will know that how to run away from responsibility. You don´t understand even the meaning of the word responsibility. The society has been so cunning. It has destroyed our most beautiful words, given them distorted meanings. Ordinarily in your dictionaries "responsibility" means duty, doing things the way you are expected to do them by your parents, by your teachers, by your priests, by your politicians, by somebody else.Your responsibility is to fulfill the demands made upon you by your elders and your society. If you act accordingly, you are a responsible person; if you act on your own ― individually ― then you are an irresponsible person. And your fear is: in acting spontaneously, here and now, there is a danger ― you may start acting individually. What will happen to your responsibility? The fact is that "responsibility", the very word, has to be broken into two words. It means "response ability". And response is possible only if you are spontaneous, here and now. Response means that your attention, your awareness, your consciousness, is totally here and now, in the present. So whatever happens, you respond with your whole being. It is not a question of being in tune with somebody else, some holy scripture, or some holy idiot. It simply means to be in tune with the present moment. This ability to respond is responsibility.Responsibility is existence, responsibility gives you being:Responsibility is existence, responsibility gives you being. If you go on throwing responsibility onto someone else — it is the Devil who is creating misery and it is God who becomes Christ, becomes Mohammed, becomes Mahavira, and takes you out of the misery — then what are you doing? You seem to be just like a football — on one side is the Devil, on one side is God and you are being kicked from this side to that. Enough! You simply say, 'Enough! I am not going to allow myself to be kicked any more.'Are you a football? Claim responsibility.Right now Krishna says that not only Pandava but society has also suffered from the dictatorship of Duryodhana. Now you must take charge of your life and life of citizens of hastinapur.Take the responsibility into your own hands, it is your life. So do whatsoever you like to do, act, never do anything that you don’t like to do. If you have to suffer for it, suffer, but don’t do it; do only that which is demand of the present moment. If you have to suffer for it, suffer for it. One has to pay the price for everything; nothing is free in life. Then that is the price. If you fulfill your duty as kṣatriya, even if the whole world condemns it, good! let them condemn. You accept that consequence because that’s your assignment of the universe so, it is worth it.This act of your responsibility will make the whole society courageous and insightful that living life under dictatorship of some one is not worth. Take charge and fight for it.

When Women Stopped eating leftovers : A Picture Which Must Change
 18 March 2018

Being Indian, some news brings you shame. This kind of news is one of them. In 21st CE, Where the whole world watches us with their understanding of this century shamed us for such gender discrimination. In distance village of Rajasthan, Banswara. Few NGO went and found that there is a tradition for women. In this tradition, women eat after his male partner and family. eventually, NGO found that it is gender discrimination and they started to educated women groups. Ironically, Many parts of India these kinds of practice is social norms. These kinds of practice have been unchanged in many decades. Many people saw them as regressive practice or culture which comes from Hinduism but for few of them, it’s only outdated tradition which must go as we live in the 21st Century.  For Original article please go throw the below mention link:When women stopped eating leftovers?Irrespective of many arguments that this behavior comes from the patriarchal culture of Indian society, I disagree with this notion. I don’t think so original and fundamental culture of India was male patriarchal in nature. All original scripture which has founded Hinduism agreed on one simple fact:“Women should be worship like Goddess and Their respect brings Devas (deities) into the home”. (Paraphrased from Manusmriti)There are several examples where we Indians celebrated the world most taboo things. Sex (Kamasutra is one of the celebrated book in Indian culture about sex) symbols and position. There is temple which is dedicated to sex and sexual posture. I don’t find that people were having about watching these images together.Khajuraho images which show various posture of sexual activities. (Source: The Wire)So how can a society which gives sex (A widely accepted taboos in all Abrahamic religion) images a place in their temple has become such regressive that they were not allowing women to eat together? It simply baffled me.More than half (51%) of all Indian women of reproductive age have anemia, according to the Global Nutrition report 2017. While our women are not allowed to eat properly. This is a shame situation. But as I was expecting, few readers who have novice understanding about everything had tried to link it with North Indian states, few consider that it’s the fault of Hinduism and few consider that it’s due to our society which has regressive structure.I would like to remind all Indians, It is our burden to remove such practices out of the window and the real reason for such discrimination practice amongst women has nothing to do with Hinduism or It’s ancient culture. For understanding that women position in Indian society please go throw my blog:Women In Hinduism – Part OneWomen in Hinduism.(Wikipedia)We must need to accept that after Mugal invasion (I am not blaming here Mugal but the patriarchy culture they bring in India) our culture has been decayed and it is not inline with our scripture which gives women freedom, allow them social and civil rights. Slowly the local practices turn out to be more patriarchy. But I would like to share an example, which no Indian can be denied and that is the proof that still Indian culture have not inhibit complete patriarchy. When I was a kid. My father used to hard work. I have seen him giving complete salary to my mother (who was the housewife and earn nothing). I have seen him asking money from my mother for his daily expanse. This is the story of millions Hindus household. I never have seen such practice in other culture. Male used to keep all money and give a small number of women for their need. But the above mention practice is a popular culture amongst Hindu family which shows that financial owner of the family is “Women”, They have been termed as “DhanLaxmi” or “Finance Ministers”.So, In my point of view. This kind of practice happening because of Illiteracy. We need a massive drive of literacy (Dharmic and Modern). We need to teach people what they are doing is against of their culture and Modern values.Only Education and Social awareness can bring the change we want. Abusing a culture (which certainly no one understands because of its complexity) is novice attempt to shed of responsibilities. Blaming mindless way will help no one.We must not forget what Upanishads told us about eating habit in the family:And if a man wishes that a learned daughter should be born to him, and that she should live to her full age, then after having prepared boiled rice with sesamum and butter, they should both eat, being fit to have offspring. And if a man wishes that a learned son should be born to him, and that he should live his full age, then after having prepared boiled rice with meat and butter, they should both eat, being fit to have offspring.— BRIHADARANYAKA UPANISHAD 6.4.17 – 6.4.18,The irony with Indians is that We are being more animal after leaving our dharma education. It is time when we bring back the dharmic culture back to our society.

Free Classifieds
 5 March 2019

Free classifieds has converted me from miserable to satisfied. My father died 2 years back and left me with an old restaurant that my great grandfather started with my grandfather 60 years ago. The restaurant has stood the test of time and still has a very small but loyal customer base who had been eating there for generations, but it has remained pretty much the same since it was started, it gets an occasional paint and repair job once every decade and that's about it. I was a software engineer working with a corporate company, earning around 30 Grand a month, but I wasn't happy with the job, the job was pretty close to modern slavery, and the kind of work I did there wasn't satisfying for the soul.I wanted to take over my father's business, but I knew nothing about restaurants and to make matters worse the restaurant wasn't making enough dough for me to take care of my family's finances, as newer more efficient competitors had cropped up everywhere. I wanted to develop my business, all the banks I approached for a loan were sceptical to say the least as the property that I wanted to attest for the loan, was slowly crumbling into pieces. One fine day I was sitting at my restaurant and  going through all the feasible options available, when I noticed a strange trend, more and more people were starting to get parcels there, instead of walking into a restaurant to eat which made me realize that food is my commodity not the restaurant, so I decided to market my food specially and use the whole restaurant space to start a full-fledged delivery based cloud kitchen. We ran a Kerala cuisine restaurant in Chennai, which was highly in demand, I next wanted to market my product and service in a low but highly effective cost that made me turn toward free classifieds on the internet – Used by millions of people all over India. There are so many portals where one could place free classified ads such as Quikr, Olx, Izydaisy.com to name a few in the World. Within a few months of me placing those free classifieds websites and using the social media to create awareness about my business, orders came rushing into my roof. I previously was just making 20 Grand running the restaurant business but then just in a few months it turned into 70 Grand, later a profitable amount of 100 Grand a month, I had to quit my job, which I wanted to do for a very long time, hire more chefs and delivery men. Our business got so much traction that people even started asking for our franchise. It was my humble opinion that we were not ready for a franchise yet, but we did manage to start another branch on the other end of the city which is also working great with the help of classifieds, and now I have incorporated YouTube marketing to the mix. We now have our own dedicated food channel that drives more consumers to try our products. I have also started learning to cook, I help out in the kitchen occasionally, for the first time there is nothing much to complain about in my life, free classifieds has converted me from miserable to satisfied.

Obsessive Love Disorder
 29 May 2019

As young kids and teenagers, we all have had minor and as well as major crushes on our classmates, neighbours, etc. By the time we reach the age of 20 or 25, most of us have been in love at least once in our lives. We have imagined a romantic dinner date and a long term relationship with the person/s. Sometimes, the person we love eventually becomes the only aspect of our life that we actually care about due to which we tend to detach ourselves from regular social obligations. These result in a psychological phenomenon called ‘Obsessive love disorder’. The latter part of this article explains the causes, symptoms and treatments of this disorder. What characterises obsessive love disorder? If you want to be with the person who put you in an abusive relationship or rejected you, then you have the ‘Obsessive love disorder’. When one feels an overwhelming desire or a strong attraction towards a particular person to a degree that he/she becomes controlling and possessive and cannot accept any kind of failure or rejection. What gives rise to obsessive love disorder? The following mental health indicators can imply that the person may have obsessive love disorder:1. Disinhibited social engagement disorder: This means that every person who is extremely outgoing and socialising all the time with random people finds it hard to form meaningful and emotional one on one relationship and thus have obsessive love disorder.2. Reactive Attachment Disorder: It is a condition in which a child is unable to form a secure and loving bond with his/her primary caretakers that can be parents or guardians. Later on, they struggle to form relationships with anyone.3. Borderline Personality Disorder: It is a relatively common mental health disorder which is characterised by unstable mood swings and absurd behaviour. These people can have extreme reactions to situations, inability to control anger, addiction and suicidal thoughts. Some victims of this disorder face obsessive love disorder.4. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: This is caused by obsessive fears that lead to compulsive rituals and practices in daily life. E.g.: the need to wash hands all the time. Due to the constant over one particular behaviour, the person may have obsessive love disorder.5. Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Disorder: This is the same as OCD but it implies the significance of the relationship. The patient becomes so obsessed with her partner that she talks about him all the time, stalks him, etc. Basically, every moment of her life depends on that person.6. Erotomania: This is a rather rare case but it means that you think a celebrity or someone of a really high profile is in love with you when he/she is actually not.Obsessive love disorder Symptoms:If you know anyone facing such problems, you must notify the following symptoms:1. Strong/Overwhelming Attraction: The person feels a strong desire to be with his/her partner all the time. These are the kind of people who say ‘I love you’ too quickly. They have high expected from the relationship sometimes believing false reciprocation of love from the other side.2. Need to Protect the Partner: You feel the constant need to protect your partner and fulfil all his/her wishes even when it is not required. You have a fear of losing the person. There is hardly any personal space left for both individuals.3. Need for validation: You need a constant reminder that you are loved and cared for by the person you are in love with. You call and message the person too many times a day to exhibit your feelings. This behaviour leads to low self-confidence.4. Low self-esteem: Similar to the previous point, this means that the person in the relationship does not feel like himself. Everything seems to fall apart. You start thinking that you are not worthy of being who you are and degrade your personality.5. Contact with Family and Friends: People with obsessive love disorder tend to have the least connection with family and friends. You find it difficult to maintain a healthy relationship with any person apart from the one you have feelings for.6. Unreasonable Jealousy: You cannot tolerate any other person who comes close to your partner or tries to talk to him/her. You stand the thought of another being with the person you love even if the intentions of the relationship aren’t bad.Obsessive love disorder Treatment:If you come across any patient of obsessive love disorder, do not assume the worst or isolate the person from your life. Instead, encourage him/her to visit a psychiatrist or a psychologist and seek professional help. Remind them constantly that they are loved and cared for. Spread awareness about mental health and its relevance in the contemporary world. There is no magical cure to obsessive love disorder but we can give useful advice and take help from people who trained in the field of psychotherapy to make the situation better.Bottom Line:We must make all our brothers and sisters aware of the importance of mental health and obsessive disorders. Let us help the people who have obsessive love disorder instead of stigmatising the very name of it.

Brand and Marketing Strategies: Taking Your Business To The Next Level
 5 October 2019

If your company hopes to grow its business in 2019 and beyond, you need more than just a good idea. It's great if you have a product or service that everybody wants. But it's tough to sell if people don't know about it. That's where marketing comes in.Marketing is something that’s continually changing. Once upon a time, a company's branded marketing approach included an ad in a newspaper or magazine and maybe a television or radio commercial - the classic "offline" method.Today’s marketing strategies have continued to explore new opportunities.Marketing, like everything else, has become more dynamic and plugged in these days. Your strategy is no longer about maximizing one or two channels. Instead, you must leverage a host of various sources, many of which are online or have a digital component, to reach your target market. Creating entry barrier lead magnets to automation in your audience segments inside your customer journey from buying to buyer.Ultimately, marketing is about being where your ideal client is and connecting with them utilizing a multitude of different tools.Let's first take a look at the importance of brand strategy and then cover several strategies to help you engage with your audience and turn them into loyal customers.Brand StrategyBefore employing specific marketing methods, it's essential to grasp what it is you hope to achieve with your overall brand strategy. Commonly mistaken for straightforward business features like your logo, product or your company's website, your brand encompasses much more.Branding runs through every aspect of what you and your team do - from how you answer the phones to the design choices you make for your marketing materials to how well your product or service performs to the way you engage with clients.Branding infuses both what you produce and how you make people feel when they interact with that output. The most successful brand strategies include several core elements that inform every facet of your business:PurposeSure, practically every company's mission is to be profitable, but to have lasting success, your goal must go beyond dollars and cents. Are you only wanting to sell a product, or do you want to enhance the lives of those who use it? Do you want to grow your business or do you want to increase the way those who work for and with your company benefit from it? The difference in approach may be subtle, but the lasting positive impact on your organization can be profound.Example: Seattle-based Starbucks is, of course, all about coffee. But the worldwide brand strives to be more than just a coffee shop. With a socially conscious mission, Starbucks champions diverse initiatives that include sustainable coffee, meaningful employment, and stronger communities.FlexibilityMarkets are always changing. To keep up, your branding and messaging have to find new and innovative ways to appeal to an audience. That doesn’t mean you have to change your logo every 12 months (consistency is important too, as we cover next). Discovering new angles to showcase your brand, partner with others or speak to your audience helps you reach new clients and keep things interesting for those who have already committed to your brand. Example: Target has gone against the "online" grain and is rolling out a new small store concept in urban markets, where their standard, big box footprint would be out of touch with the location's density and local attributes. ConsistencyWhile flexibility is vital to staying relevant in a fast-changing world, you also want current and prospective customers to know who you are and the foundational values you represent. This is particularly important if you've been successful in carving out a niche in a competitive market and don't want to alienate clients. Make use of style guides that inform and standardize your look and messaging, regardless if you're using it in on the web, through social media or in a physical store.Example: Tech giant Apple is perhaps the Mount Everest of consistent branding. Everything from their products and the packaging they come in to their advertising to their corporate headquarters are always unmistakably Apple.EngagementGreat product. Great message. And still no customers? Products and services are rarely instant successes. Instead, successful brands figure out ways to connect with customers and create an emotional attachment that makes the buyer feel as if they are part of something bigger. Recognize how your product or service enriches a user’s life and then play up that connection to generate more meaningful engagement with your customers. Example: Coca-Cola's bright, welcoming aesthetic inviting people to be part of their brand is well established. For the past decade, one of the world's largest drink brands has taken this engagement to the next level with the simple, yet highly engaging “Share a Coke” campaign.Consider some of the biggest brands in the world - Apple, Coca-Cola, Starbucks - and how recognizable their brands - and brand strategies - have become. Yet they continue to evolve in an attempt to reach more potential consumers. You don't need to be an international behemoth to employ a comprehensive and successful brand strategy.  Simply by understanding who your company is, knowing what you offer and connecting with an audience who stands to benefit most, allows your brand to shine.Five Modern Marketing StrategiesWith that understanding of branding and overall marketing strategy, here are five modern methods that can enhance your brand and grow your business.Lead Magnet and Content MarketingIt's the most classic of starting points for all businesses - what solution does your product provide? The best lead magnets crystallize why your brand matters. Identify an audience's problem or question and then present your case for not just being the answer but the only answer.Lead magnets like ebooks, FAQs, checklists, surveys or guides are most useful when you use funnel marketing. This means you grab the prospect's attention with something of value in exchange for their contact info. Then, you can continue connecting with them via other methods, drawing them further down the “funnel” to eventually become a customer. However, lead magnets can be more than just one-off content pieces to capture an email address - they are also effective as engaging, stand-alone marketing or promotional pieces.Email MarketingIt may seem a little low-tech compared to some of today's more advanced tools, but email remains a massively popular form of communication. If done well, it can provide an impressive ROI, or return on investment. For example, Hubspot notes that for every dollar spent on email, you can earn $38 in return, which is a 3,800% ROI. And, more than 59% of marketers say that their biggest source of ROI is through email. Those stats show that email has matured quite a bit in the past few years. The productiveness of your email marketing depends on your commitment to it. Automate your email and customize responses based on the actions of your subscribers, such as when they click a link, navigate to a page, view an item or leave an item in their online cart. You can also personalize your content based on demographics and who they are, whether they are a visitor making a first-time purchase or a satisfied and returning customer. This effort allows you to nurture relationships with your audience and provide touchpoints for them regardless of how they engage with your brand. Social MediaFor many firms today, their marketing begins and ends with social media. It's easy to see why. Sprout Social indicates that social media continues to grow in the number of users and opportunities for engagement with both customers and non-customers. It seems that everyone engages with some form of social media and for your brand not to be involved in at least one platform is a huge missed opportunity.Consider your audience to pick which social media platforms are best for your company. Consider having a business page on Facebook and including Facebook ads as part of your advertising strategy. In addition, consider joining platforms such as Snapchat, Twitter or Instagram, which can also produce valuable direct engagement for both B2Cs and B2Bs.The crucial factor of social media is to be authentic. Many platforms are less about making a sale and more about being part of a conversation. Certainly, don't be shy about promoting your products, services and solutions. But to find social media success, your organization's voice must be genuine and focused on your audience’s experience. Video MarketingWould it surprise you to learn that YouTube is the world's second most popular site - behind Google and ahead of Facebook? It's also the second most popular search engine. In other words, video is big. While no one expects you start producing 30-minute infomercials, taking advantage of video's popularity and the boost it gives your SEO. From product guides and demos to tutorials to two--minute industry-specific info pieces, developing a library of videos sets you apart from competitors while also building another engagement point for your audience. House those video libraries on both your website and a channel on YouTube to increase their exposure.Influencer MarketingWord of mouth has always been a reliable means of marketing for many industries. Unfortunately, the traditional method of creating buzz can take a lot of time and patience as you build a satisfied customer base willing to spread the word. Today, that doesn’t have to be the case anymore.Influencer marketing is supercharging word of mouth with brands partnering with influencers to increase visibility among other circles of followers. If you think your business isn't fit for this type of marketing, think again. Influencers are everywhere and are capable of moving the needle on practically any product or service. For your company to see a big payoff, you'll want to identify the right influencer for your brand and marketing strategy. Look for influencers who have a following similar to the type of audience you want to target. You don't need to aim for the stars either. Micro-influencers reach thousands of individuals at a far lower entry threshold.Final ThoughtsWhen it comes to researching and implementing your branding and marketing strategies, keep your audience in mind. No matter your branding and marketing approach, make sure to test and retest everything you do. By its very nature of convincing others to believe in your business and buy the product you're selling, marketing is an inexact science. Perfect it by understanding your audience as well as your company and its purpose, and then refine the message you want to convey. Leverage all of the channels at your disposal where your audience can be found to share that message and realize your organization's true potential. Grow in Practical Application with a Degree Understanding the foundational concepts of marketing and brand awareness is helpful in whatever business-related industry you find yourself in. Grow in your understanding of core concepts like marketing through a business degree program at PGS. With practical curriculum designed to help you meet your goals, you can add value to your organization and get to where you want to go in business success. Bridge the gap between education and skill development
 28 April 2018

StoryMirror interviewed Bringle Academy that are striking to bring a learning revolution. Here is what they have to say.Tell us about your journey and why BRINGLE started?India is relatively young as a nation with around 28 million youth population being added every year. There is a surge in the implementation of educational technologies for improving student learning. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. Thus began the idea of bridging the gap between education and skills development in 2016. We strive to transform lessons into engaging student-centered, active learning experiences. We began our journey of combining technology with education at Thane, Maharashtra with one center. Our main focus was quaint computer courses and six sigma green and black belt courses. We found our purpose when a young adult with cerebral palsy joined us to learn computers. It was a challenging situation for us to alter our pedagogy and create a learning environment for him. Perhaps most importantly, educators should demonstrate a great deal of emotional support and patience and utilize effective teaching strategies for students with cerebral palsy. Providing positive academic feedback, assisting students in developing friendships with general education peers, and communicating frequently with parents and therapists are all ways that teachers can inspire confidence and success in students with cerebral palsy. Being a catalyst for a Cerebal Palsy dreamer to fulfill his dreams has been our biggest reward so far.Bringle Academy strives to bring a learning revolution, with our core philosophy of ‘Growing with Grace’, which can be achieved through self-improvement and skill enhancement. We constantly thrive on nature’s principal, that ‘learning never stops’, therefore our programs are designed for all age groups and professions. We have even extended our reach to housewives and senior citizens as well. We seek out the best thinkers in an area, and form collaborative networks to work together and bring about transformation. Finally, we share our work with others so it will have the greatest possible impact.Explain us your model and its features. We researched 300+ EdTech platforms & institutes to identify the loop holes and scope of improvement in current education system. After intensive brain storming for 2 Years our team of experts identified key areas to bring disruptive innovation in education space. We developed a robust & effective framework and filed a patent for the same in Dec 2017. We collaborated with various Brand Partners to add value to our initiative. We adopt Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology in all our centers followed by Data Analytics to ensure the continuous improvement in 3 aspects1. SkillProfiling - Career Counselling through Expert Counsellors & Psychologists2. Safety-Index - Keeping a Child Safe (#NearMiss Reporting)3. Career Progression - Holistic Development Monitoring & developing parents, Teachers, Students ConnectK12 After School Skills Development Centers:Our platform aims to provide holistic development of students, which enable them to learn at a faster pace and apply logical & analytical skills in getting their homework done without any additional support. We enable Parents to choose the right time slots for their children. These programs will be certification based and add value to the learning process of students. We would extend our support to differently-abled workforce by our skill development programs.Whom are you mainly targeting?Education interventions promise a wide range of potential benefits: increased economic growth; higher rates of societal production; quicker adoption of technological change; development of government and business leaders; improved health; empowering women; and the intrinsic value of education. Our 8 Target Segments are:1. Most students today have been using mobile devices like tablets and smartphones to play and learn since they could crawl. So it only seems logical to align today's classrooms with the way that your students want and are used to learning. Enabling students to think independently, to form their own ideas which they can then communicate through a creative process is one of the prime focus areas of Bringle Academy.Technology transforms the learning experience. EARTH DAY- 22nd, April
 3 April 2018

International Mother Earth Day (or Earth Day)The Earth Day is celebrated on 22 April 2018 each year to celebrate the Mother Earth. Thus, Earth Day is to remind us of the importance of maintenance of the life balance.History:●US senator and environment enthusiast: Gaylord Nelson was the driving force behind the celebrations.●The idea came to Senator Nelson on witnessing the infamous 1969 oil spill in California.●The spill took a toll on the ecological system of California and the Outlook of the nation itself.●Driven by the desire to involve the youth in the cause of the environment. ●It was due to the reason that an ideal date i.e. 22 April was chosen (between the spring break as well as final examinations).●Initially, the event had just 20 million supporters and by the 90s the figure swelled up to 200 million.●Then came the path-breaking legislation in form of Rio Declaration of 1992. This legislation put more effort into economic, social and environmental reforms. ●Today, the figure of the followers is estimated to be beyond 1 billion.  As a result, each year volunteers gather to plant trees, ensure cleanliness of the vicinity and achieving success through sustainable goals. Earth Day 2018 Theme:Leading the process of change is the Earth Day Network. It has been decided to dedicate the celebrations this year to End Plastic Pollution. The organization is creating and finding support for ensuring utility. creating support for a global effort to eliminate single-use plastics along with global regulation for the disposal of plastics.  EDN will educate millions of people about the health and other risks associated with the use and disposal of plastics, including pollution of our oceans, water, and wildlife, and about the growing body of evidence that decomposing plastics are creating serious global problems. From poisoning and injuring marine life to the ubiquitous presence of plastics in our food to disrupting human hormones and causing major life-threatening diseases and early puberty, the exponential growth of plastics is threatening our planet’s survival. EDN has built a multi-year campaign to End Plastic Pollution.  Our goals include ending single-use plastics, promoting alternatives to fossil fuel-based materials, promoting 100 percent recycling of plastics, corporate and government accountability and changing human behavior concerning plastics.EDN’s End Plastic Pollution campaign includes four major components:Leading a grassroots movement to support the adoption of a global framework to regulate plastic pollution;Educating, mobilizing and activating citizens across the globe to demand that governments and corporations control and clean up plastic pollution;Educating people worldwide to take personal responsibility for plastic pollution by choosing to reject, reduce, reuse and recycle plastics, andPromoting local government regulatory and other efforts to tackle plastic pollution.Earth Day Network will leverage the platform of Earth Day and the growing interest in the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day in 2020 as a catalyst for global action.Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defense of environmental protection.Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.may be hard to imagine that before 1970, a factory could spew black clouds of toxic into the air or dump tons of toxic waste into a nearby stream, and that was perfectly legal. They could not be taken to court to stop it.How was that possible? Because there was no EPA, no Clean Air Act, no Clean Water Act. There were no legal or regulatory mechanisms to protect our environment. In spring 1970, Senator Gaylord Nelson created Earth Day as a way to force this issue onto the national agenda. Twenty million Americans demonstrated in different U.S. cities, and it worked! In December 1970, Congress authorized the creation of a new federal agency to tackle environmental issues, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.Earth Day began in America in 1970 as a day to celebrate the planet and encourage people to be more environmentally friendly. It is now an annual event and is widely regarded as the beginning of the modern environmental movement. Activities associated with the day often include planting trees, raising awareness about recycling, volunteering for green projects, and reducing the number of energy people consume. Earth Day is supported by a host of celebrities, including Leonardo Di Caprio, Emma Watson, Miley Cyrus and Matt Damon. Earth Day has become one of the most widely celebrated environmental events across the globe. On this day, events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment. Currently, it is celebrated in more than 192 countries each year. It was originally celebrated at Spring Equinox around 21 March every day but now the United Nations has designated 22 April as the International Mother Earth Day. Earth Day Network coordinates this annual day across the globe.Earth Day is all about appreciating the uniqueness of our planet Earth with its incredible biodiversity. On this day various national and international activities are conducted to understand the biodiversity and how should we protect our nature – plants, animals, and environment.Today, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with numerous partners and communities in more than 192 countries to raise the environmental concerns and diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. Apart from this, a large number of communities celebrate Earth Week and create awareness among other people regarding environmental issues.Various Earth Day FactsEarth Day Flag is called Ecology Flag. It was created by cartoonist Ron Cobb and was first published in the Los Angeles Free Press on 7 November 1969. The Ecology symbol resembles Greek letter theta and is a combination of the letters “E” and “O” taken from the words “Environment” and “Organism,” respectively. The flag consists of thirteen alternating-green-and-whites stripes with a symbol on the left-hand side. Earth Day Anthem is a universal song associated with Earth Day. Its lyrics are set to the tone of Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” melody on which the official anthem of the European Union is based.“Joyful joyful we adore our Earth in all its wondermentSimple gifts of nature that all join into a paradiseNow we must resolve to protect herShow her our love throughout all timeWith our gentle hand and touchWe make our home a newborn worldNow we must resolve to protect herShow her our love throughout all timeWith our gentle hand and touchWe make our home a newborn world.”Earth Day became an international event on 21 March 1971, when UN’s Secretary-General U Thant spoke about it at a Peace Bell Ceremony at the United Nations in New York City. Since then, the United Nations Earth Day ceremony continues each year on the day of the vernal equinox (March 20th or 21st), with the ringing of the UN Peace Bell at the very moment of the equinox.More than 20 million people and thousands of local schools and communities participated in the first Earth Day of the United States that took place on 22 April 1970. This huge turnout made the first Earth Day as the largest organized celebration in the history of the United States. The success of Earth Day helped to influence the United States’ government to create stronger laws to protect the environment.Earth Day Network, the organization behind the Earth Day movement, works with over 22000 partners in more than 192 countries worldwide to raise environmental concerns. Today more than 1 billion people participate in earth day activities each year to make it one of the largest movements on earth.Earth Day 2000 combined the ambitious spirit of the first Earth Day with the international grassroots activism of Earth Day 1990. This was the year when Earth Day used the Internet to expand its reach and organize activists across several continents. The message was loud and clear and it proved invaluable domestically and internationally. In the year 2009, United Nations officially renamed Earth Day as International Mother Earth Day.On Earth Day 2012, more than 100,000 people rode bikes in China to reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel.Every year on April 22, men, women, children, groups and communities all around the world gather together and put all their efforts to collect garbage, plant saplings, encourage people to go for recycling, sign petitions and discuss issues to save this planet from depleting resources. In few places, earth day is celebrated throughout the week to expand its reach so that more people take part and put their efforts to preserve the environment.Earth Day SignificanceEarth Day is a day dedicated to increasing awareness about the Earth, its issues, and problems. Today, more than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. As a result of this remarkable event, various policy agreements and acts are sanctioned such as Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and many others.Earth Day has gained significant significance in the past. This is due to the fact that people have been witnessing the shortage of food, skyrocketing fuel prices, increased global warming and changing weather patterns. It is a day that acknowledges the importance of our planet. People come to know about the contemporary environmental issues such as global warming, depleting resources etc. Both adults and kids become conscious about the strategies and tactics which they can adopt in day-to-day life to ensure cleaner environments.Various suggestions are brought to light about recycling, energy conservation, increasing plant and tree growth, save water, respect nature, reduce toxins in the air, keep the environment clean, reduce air pollution, planting trees and flowers to increase oxygen and love and respect towards all animals who inhabit the earth. There are small ideas with the huge impact such as – plant a tree every year, switch off the light when not in use, use recyclable bags for grocery shopping etc. presented during Earth Day celebrations.Apart from the individual households, even companies are encouraging their employees to contribute their part when it comes to saving this planet from degradation. Making use of public transportation, carpooling to reduce pollution, switching off AC after office hours, motivating people to take less printouts, using renewable sources to generate power, allowing employees to engage in tele or video conferencing, using CFL lights  and bulbs, extracting geothermal energy to heat up office buildings are few of the initiatives companies are taking to save energy and make this planet safe for our future generations. On the transportation side, companies are now manufacturing and selling hybrid and electric cars that do not make use of petrol or diesel to run. New technologies are coming in which are making these cars at par with that of cars running on petrol and diesel. If people implement some of these and make changes in their behaviors towards Mother Earth, then we would be able to make our planet a much better place to live in – also for coming generations.

SIGHT and ACTION.
 28 March 2018

Maps And Mother Goddesses in Modern India”,Imago Mundi, Vol 53 pp. 97-11by Sumathy Ramaswamy; “Death of a Kotwal”, The Caste Question pp.241-264 by Anupama RaoThe scales of shapes and skills remain balanced so long there is a constant urge to take action through acts and thoughts. Borrowing evidences from the texts from The Death of A Kotwal and Maps and Mother Goddesses of India, this paper argues how bodies produce knowledge. It lurks around the former where an innocent Kotwal is bludgeoned to death and the latter provides for a bodyscape which helped unite India. This paper reflects how irrespective of the existence of materials, constant interactions in the society can lead to formation of perceptions and abstractions. NON LIVING PARTICIPATION IN ACTIONBodies are known to be the hub for interactions and debates. Apart from their physical realities, in a rut to fight and provide evidence, humans intensify the meaning of the non-existential bodies to make them exist. Rao, in her paper explains the helplessness of the family and the Dalit community after Sawane’s virtual corpse is put under the eyes of the law. The case expedites when it is scrutinized deeply and Rao mentions, “The addition of the PCR Act’s Section 3(x)was mandatory and signaled that the case merited extra care as an atrocity”(243). The idea of the investigation of a dead body by another body in power(legislation) sensationalized the tiff in hand. This case was chalked out as an exception from all of the Anti-Dalit discriminations, because of its gruesome severity. Ramaswamy supporting this argument in her essasy argues reflects how soma (body) of a woman can be utilized for representing a map, to awaken the depressed patriots of India. She says, “These gendered bodyscapes also enable the viewing of the nation’s territory possessively, even pleasurably”(109). Considering maps of margins and boundaries incapable of provocation of any belongingness, she intensifies the need and power of embodiment. Such bodyscapes hence acted like moderators between different ideologies to brew a collective revolution.Man’s constant attempt to question and frame an individual to gain attention has made his instinct for differing between the real and unreal blind. The once real, body of the Kotwal and the virtual Mother India, both created by man are not hotplate for discussion and representations.STRUCTURES TO ABSTRACTIONSBodies are meant to provide a structure and materialize the abstractions. However their state of living existence may be, bodies never cease to engender knowledge and awareness. When put under a magnifying glass of human perceptions, one views different from the other. Rao expresses how the location of the village was harmless yet a catastrophe occurred. As the case progressed it was found out that apart from being Dalit and follower of Ambedkar, he was also the gate keeper for his area. Rao writes, “Living outside the village boundaries, the mahar veskar is the outsider figure who protects the integrity of the village social unit” (258). Sawane wasn’t only a material body, but upon his death,a lot of humanity and responsibilities failed which remained unnoticed.Sumathy Ramaswamy too expresses how blank cartographical representations of their progressing nation once looked at differently, livened up. The body of the mother goddess as a map now, calls for national urge to freedom. She writes “They invite the citizen subject who gazes upon them to relate the nation not as some abstract, dead geographical space but as a near and dear person, his personal goddess, his vulnerable mother, even a beloved lover “(110). One couldn’t have imagined the power of abstract images with bodies to shake the restlessness in the nation and make them aware about their surroundings. These perceptions help build studies of knowledge and emotion amongst people who are witnessing the action. Hence to attain the key of all the knowledge of interest from a body, one must seep through all the roots of the body and decipher all its actions and emotions it represent for others before making quick judgments. It is only then when our deductions will surpass the normal overview of bodies, that we will take a leap into the world of actual reality.KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGES ON THE BASIS OF PERCEPTIONSCo-existing with other humans in the universe leads to various perceptions and ideas to be built around the body. The way he moves, his actions, his speech, all comes into consideration when there is an observer or listener who symbolizes his being with respect to own life. On one hand, Rao reflects the importance of politics in the society, on the other,Ramaswamy talks about the status of the female community through her work. The latter writes on behalf of many and says “feminist geographers have suggested that the conception of the nation as cartographically female enables a ‘masculinist’ relationship to the place”(109).In their purview, such kind of bodyscaping was centralized so men could join arms and perform righteous duties towards the vulnerable mother nation. On a similar note, Rao reflects how ideas taken from the perception of Dalit communities and Ambedkar’s role as a political leader helped shape the judgment. She resounds the case progressions and says, “Kharkov distinguished two forms of phenomenal violence: new violent caste social displayed in conflict around Ambedkar statue and retaliatory counter violence that reinstated Dalits’ stigmatized status” (255). This knowledge became crucial in understanding and refining the position of the Dalit kotwal and his ambition of constructing a statue of Ambedkar. The distress of the Dalit community and their political representative from the past, would not have come under notice if there was no action amidst communities. The analysis that came in effect after continuous actions and perceptions made in societies would not have been produced without the continuous expulsion of knowledge from the bodies. It is due to such their status in the society and such symbolic representations, that we can extrapolate their relationships and achievements in the past.Humans, often involuntarily make decisions keeping in mind other people’s existence in their life and their effects. As goes their anatomy, knowledge can never be separated alone from the way they occupy space. This space however need not be tangible or visible, for what matters more is the influence created by it. By their own will, the bodies spout a river of emotions and actions in due course of their life. As they interact, the by products become adaptable and appreciable by the people over who he has the influence. Now this influence can be used to target a set of people or a notion, it can be used as a boon or a bay, or a tool or weapon. These assumptions about perceptions, extraction of reality from abstractions too are caused by an exchange in ideas and thoughts over time in space. Hence so I believe that bodies are more than occupants of the earth, they exceed their limits and become unique walls of creative knowledge.

World Autism Acceptance Day
 3 April 2018

World Autism Acceptance Day is an internationally recognized day on 2 April every year, encouraging the Member States of the United Nations to take measures to raise acceptance about people with autism throughout the world. It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly resolution "62/139. World Autism Acceptance Day", passed in council on 1 November 2007, and adopted on 18 December 2007. It was proposed by the United Nations representative from Qatar, Her Highness SheikhaMozah bint Nasser Al-Missned, Consort of His Highness Shiekh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and supported by all member states. This resolution was passed and adopted without a vote in the UN General Assembly, mainly as a supplement to previous UN initiatives to improve humanrights. Since its inception autism awareness and research around the world has increased as a resultWorld Autism Day is also one of only four official health-specific UN Days. The day itself brings individual autism organizations together all around the world to aid in things like research, diagnoses, treatment, and overall acceptance for those with this neurological variance. The original resolution had four main components:·the establishment of the second day of April as World Autism Awareness Day, beginning in 2008·invitation to the Member States and other relevant organizations to the UN or the international societal system, including non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to create initiatives to raise public awareness of autismThe ·encourages Member States to raise awareness of autism on all levels in society·asks the UN Secretary-General to deliver this message to member states and all other UN organizations.2 April 2008The first Autism Acceptance Day was highly mandated and hosted by the UN branches around the world. The highlighted events were held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The events hosted by the UN includes a panel discussion sponsored by Qatar and the UN representative responsible for the resolution, along with the World Health Organization. In addition, there was a briefing held for NGO's on topics relating to autism acceptance. Both of these events focused on personal efforts for acceptance raising and eliminating negative stigma associated with autism. In addition, there were highlights on the struggles of Autistics to be accepted and the importance of better understanding this neurological variance.World Autism Awareness Day in EuropeIn Europe the international association Autism-Europe runs a campaign every year, focusing not only on awareness but also on fostering a greater understanding of autism. Autism-Europe’s campaigns to date have therefore focused on things such as employment for people on the autism spectrum, discrimination, neurodiverse societies and accessible products, services and communities.Autism-Europe’s member organizations, of which there are more than 80, also commonly work on the same campaign, and promote it in their respective countries. The Power of One MarchThe Power of One March is The National Autism Awareness March and is a unique night-time march in Washington, D.C., on World Autism Awareness Day, which is 2 April 2016. The march aims to unify the autism awareness community and provide a time of healing and peace around the globe. Attendees may choose which organization they want to march for with proceeds of LED bracelet sales going to the organization of their choosing.OntarioAutism Ontario celebrates World Autism Awareness Day by "Raising a Flag" for autism. Municipalities around Ontario raise a flag to raise awareness for autism in their region.Onesie WednesdayIn 2014 WAAD coincided with Onesie Wednesday, a day created by the National Autistic Society to encourage people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to show their support for anyone on the autistic spectrum. By wearing a onesie or pyjamas, participants are saying, "it’s all right to be different".United StatesIn a 2015 Presidential Proclamation, President Obama highlighted some of the initiatives that the US government was taking to bring rights to those with autism and to bring awareness to the disorder. He highlighted things like The Affordable Care Act, which prohibits health insurance companies from denying coverage based on a pre-existing condition such as autism. He also pointed out the recent Autism CARES Act of 2014, which provides higher level training for those who are serving citizens on the autism spectrum.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 4.9
 30 October 2019

Be Ordinary - In Gita Verse 4.9 One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.Krishna tells that when you turn in and immediately you find me over there. You realize transcendental nature of universe. Means change of form nothing else. Whether you understand through science or by turning in, you will find something which cannot be destroyed but only it changes the form. You will find your own eternity.Life has no beginning and no end. It is eternity, and that is God’s gift. God has given himself in the gift, because life is God. All that is needed is a certain awakening in your heart so you can see it, feel it, taste it, touch it. The gift has been waiting and waiting for you for thousands of years, but you have been asleep, as everybody has been. One has to become an awakening. One h...as to be nothing but a great effort to wake yourself up. Nobody else can do it for you. If you don’t cooperate there is no possibility. Somebody can shake you but you can go on sleeping, you can turn over. Somebody can shake you but you can start dreaming that somebody is shaking you.Unless you want to wake up, unless an intense longing to wake up arises in you, no possible help can be given from the outside. But if you want to be awakened then all possible help is available. It cannot be imposed on you; your freedom cannot be interfered with. With your cooperation the thing is very simple… so simple that I say: Snap your fingers, slap your face, and wake up!Just as an experiment, let us try and move our hand with awareness. We will immediately realise that the particular moment was full of grace. The unawareness or sleep is gone, we are now fully awake, and this aware state is what the Buddha called ‘wakefulness’, and it is this wakefulness that is the way to living life. The Buddha’s emphasis was on two very important aspects – life and awareness. And, if life is our goal, if living life to its fullest is the ultimate aim, then awareness is the only highway to reach there. I have tried to depict the state of this continuous presence that ‘we are’, through the routine life, Awareness. When we walk, sleep, or even perform any mundane activity with awareness, it becomes meditation and the centring of our being begins. This centring leading to crystallisation is very important for the birth of our being. When you are eating, just be aware of your eating, and when you are angry, just be aware that you are angry. This constant remembering of the self creates a subtle energy in you and you begin to be a crystallised being. Kabir’s poems beautifully describe this awareness in his rustic but beautiful language. Many of his poems are a call to acknowledge and live in this awareness, which he termed as Jatan. He says, “Man Gorakh, man Gobind, man hi Aughad soy/ Jo man raakhe jatan kari, aape karta hoy.” Kabir says that the body is not doing anything; the entire activity is governed by the inner world of awareness. We only need to be aware of ourselves and the rest will follow. This is the most significant phenomenon that will light our inner consciousness. In his poems, Kabir describes ordinary village women returning home from the river with vessels full of water carefully balanced on their heads. They never use their hands to support the pots even when they are deeply engaged in talking to each other, or while singing a song in chorus. Kabir wonders how they manage to continuously retain the pots on their heads without ever spilling a drop of water. He himself answers it by saying that it is because of pure awareness – a watchful inner guard. Kabir tells us that we should all live, work and walk just like those women who – with precariously balanced pots on their heads – reach home without even spilling a drop of water. There is a very thin line between forgetfulness and unawareness. Kabir has more to say on Jatan, awareness: “Das Kabir jatan kar odhi/ jyon ki tyon dhar deeni chadariya.” Kabir says he draped the subtle yarn of awareness around him, and returned it just as he received it from the lord himself. This is what awareness is all about – living our life, maintaining a constant remembrance and witnessing our self totally.Krishna tells Arjuna that to find your eternity you have to wake up. Once you know your own eternity which has not taught by anyone then all your objective world, material world will drop, with that your attachments, anxiety, expectations, etc everything will drop out. The only way to wake up is be ordinary, bring your awareness in all your routine act.

Do School Need To Impart Sex Education?
 26 February 2018

Sex education or in broad terms “sexuality education has been a topic of great brainstorming in India lately. Just like every other idea it also has its own set of protagonists and antagonist. While supporters (I’m also one of them) cite “better knowledge about sexual health and well-being” as a reason, opposers bring religion, tradition and culture to support their stand.Sex as we know it has been a taboo in India. People are not comfortable talking about it even though it’s as natural part of life as breathing. You can talk and discuss every other part of the body, their functions, diseases that affect them, the causes and remedies of these diseases but about your reproductive system? NOPE, that makes you mean, ill-mannered, ill-cultured douche and what not. You may find many saying that sex education is an obscene western concept and India with all its culture and traditions doesn’t need it. Yeah right! As if we reproduce by ‘photosynthesis’. Though the list of myths about sexuality and sex education is endless, Here we’ll try to bust some of them.MYTH NO. 1: Sex education teaches children to have sex at an early age.NOPE, It doesn’t teach children to have sex at an early age. It teaches them to understand their reproductive system just like any other part of the body. It teaches them about the changes they’ll be experiencing at puberty and how it’ll affect them. It teaches them how to handle and be at par with these changes. It teaches them about the the social, psychological and biological aspects of a leading a healthy sexual life. It teaches them about sexually transmitted diseases and their prevention, birth control measures, sexual abuse and its prevention etc. A healthy sexual life doesn’t only include the physical act of sex but the overall sexual well-being.MYTH NO. 2: Keeping children away from these things will keep them innocent, well-mannered and cultured.Well, certainly not. Children are always curious to know about everything and it applies to sex as well. Not telling them about these things will make them search for this information through some other medium which includes friends, internet and even porn. Chances are very high that these mediums will give him/her a half-baked truth and fill his head with myths about sex. It will only leave him more confused and disillusioned. I once checked a forum of sexual awareness people often used to ask their questions about sexuality. There I found teenagers asking if watching porn will make them pregnant or applying semen to face will make their skin soft. What do you think is the reason behind all these myths? Just one i.e. not talking to them about sex. That way they don’t get their information from credible sources and accept myths as truth. Not talking to them about it will also make them too naïve to understand the difference between a casual touch and an intent of sexual molestation. As we all know that sexual abuse among children aged 5-12 is a grave problem in India. About 30% of the minors are sexually abused in some forms or the other. That is a very gruesome figure and a great cause of concern. A percentage of these crimes happen because children are not aware about it. Making them aware will definitely reduce these incidents by a great margin.MYTH NO. 3: India doesn’t have cases of teen pregnancy like Europe. Why do we need this?A grossly misinformed statement. Child marriage is still prevalent in many parts of India and it sure results in teen pregnancies. Actually the number of teen pregnancies in India is 62 out of a 1000. This is higher than Europe and America. Educating children about birth control measures will lessen the cases of such pregnancies thus saving many lives in the process as the cases of death of teen mothers while delivering the baby is dangerously high.MYTH NO.4: Children should not be told about things like homosexuality which is against nature. It will make them homosexuals.Homosexuality is not against nature. It is as natural as heterosexuality. Telling someone about it will not make them homosexual. Sexual orientations are decided by genetic factors ant can’t be changed just by knowing about all other orientations. Knowing about it will only make them accept the diversity of orientations and looks look at homosexuals with inferiority.MYTH NO. 5: What about the culture? Our culture never shunned “sex and sexual” from being discussed. In fact we had many scholars like Vatsyayana who did extensive research on this topic. His research is still a source of extensive learning on this subject. It’s the Victorian era moral codes imposed by European colonizers in the disguise of tradition and religion which is confused as Indian culture here. So, the bottom line is that you can educate children/teenagers about sexuality while Indian culture will remain totally safe and sound.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.23
 20 July 2019

Eternity - In Gita Verse 2.23 The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind. Now Krishna in this verse says regarding Subjectivity, Soul, which cannot be affected by anything.Which is - The Eternity of Your Being:To live as an awareness: awareness of all the programs the mind has been conditioned for, awareness of all the impulses, desires, memories, imaginations… all that the mind can do.One has to be not part of it, but separate - seeing it but not being it - watching it. And this is one of the most essential things to remember, that you cannot watch your watchfulness. If you watch your watchfulness, then the watcher is you, not the watched. So you cannot go beyond watchfulness. The point that you cannot transcend is your being. The point that you cannot go beyond is you. You can watch very easily any thought, any emotion, any sentiment. Just one thing you cannot watch - and that is your watchfulness. And if you manage to watch it, that means you have shifted: the first watchfulness has become just a thought; now you are the second watcher. You can go on shifting back, but you cannot get out of watchfulness because it is you: you cannot be otherwise. So, “Just be yourself,” Means, “Just be unprogrammed, unconditioned awareness.” That’s how you had come into the world, and that’s how the enlightened person leaves the world. He lives in the world but remains totally separate. One of the great mystics, Kabir, has a beautiful poem about it. All his poems are just perfect - nothing can be better. One of his poems says, “I will give back the soul that was given to me at the time of my birth as pure, as clean, as it was given to me. I will give it back that way when I die.” He is talking about awareness, that it has remained unpolluted. The whole world was there to pollute it, but he has remained watchful. All that you need is just to be watchful, and nothing will affect you. This unaffectedness will keep your purity, and this purity has certainly the freshness of life, the joy of existence - all the treasures that you have been endowed with. But you become attached to the small things surrounding you and forget the one that you are. It is the greatest discovery in life and the most ecstatic pilgrimage to truth. And you need not be an ascetic, you need not be anti-life; you need not renounce the world and go to the mountains. You can be where you are, you can continue to do what you are doing. Just a new thing has to be evolved: whatever you do, you do with awareness - even the smallest act of the body or the mind - and with each act of awareness you will become aware of the beauty and the treasure and the glory and the eternity of your being. Also same thing can be said by different words so we can understand it.Soul has no beginning and no end, it is eternity:Soul has no beginning and no end. It is eternity, and that is God’s gift. God has given himself in the gift, because soul is God. All that is needed is a certain awakening in your heart so you can see it, feel it, taste it, touch it. The gift has been waiting and waiting for you for thousands of years, but you have been asleep, as everybody has been.Unless you want to wake up, unless an intense longing to wake up arises in you, no possible help can be given from the outside. But if you want to be awakened then all possible help is available. It cannot be imposed on you; your freedom cannot be interfered with. With your cooperation the thing is very simple…But if you are not cooperating then it is the most impossible thing in the world; then nothing can be done.Arjuna has to become an awakening. Arjuna has do nothing but a great effort to wake himself up.Right now Krishna is shaking up Arjuna up, again and again and Arjuna is going back to his sleep.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.20
 17 July 2019

Witnessing - In Gita Verse 2.20 For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.Krishna says that our subjectivity or soul is witnessing consciousness. Which is eternal.Witnessing is not a mental activity; thinking is a mental activity. Rather, it would be better to say that thinking is mind. When the mind is not, when the mind is absent, when the mind has disappeared, only then do you have witnessing. It is something behind the mind.Zen Buddhism uses “mind” in two ways: the ordinary mind means thinking; then mind with a capital M means the Mind behind thinking. Consciousness is behind the mind; consciousness comes through the mind. If mind is in a state of thinking it becomes opaque, nontransparent, just like a clouded sky – you cannot see the sky. When the clouds are not, you can see the sky. When thinking is not there then you can feel the witnessing; it is the pure sky behind. So you cannot do two things, either you can think or you can witness. If you are thinking, then you lose witnessing. Then the mind becomes a cloud on your consciousness. If you are witnessing, you cannot think simultaneously; then the mind is not there. Thinking is an acquired process; witnessing is your nature. So that you cannot do both, or mind cannot do both, it doesn’t mean that mind is the faculty to witness. Mind is the faculty to think, mind is for “minding.”Really, many problems are created just by language. There is nothing like “mind.” There is only a process, not a thing. It is better to call it “minding” than mind. It is a process of continuous thought, one thought being followed by another. Only in the gaps, only in the intervals between two thoughts can you have something of the witnessing nature. But thoughts are so fast that you cannot even feel the gap. If you begin to witness your thoughts, then the thought process is slowed down and then you begin to feel gaps. One thought passes, another has not come yet, and there is an interval. In that interval you have witnessing. Thoughts cannot exist without gaps, otherwise they will begin to overlap each other. They cannot exist! Just like my fingers are there – with gaps in between. If your thought process is slowed down – and any method of meditation is nothing but a slowing down of the thought process – if the thought process is slowed down you begin to feel the gaps. Through these gaps is witnessing. Thought is mind; a thoughtless consciousness is witnessing. Thought is acquired from the outside; witnessing is inside. Consciousness is born with you; thought is acquired, cultivated. So you can have a Hindu thought, you can have a Mohammedan thought, you can have a Christian thought, but you cannot have a Christian soul, you cannot have a Hindu soul. Soul is just soul – consciousness is consciousness. What Krishna is right now doing giving very gentle jerk to Arjuna, through that jerk he is bringing Arjuna back to present moment.Recollect the moment when you get little bit of jerk in your thinking your thinking stops, in that moment you get like lightning, you come across a glimpse of your consciousness. Suddenly you will find freshness in you.Krishna right now is just giving a jerk so that Arjuna can be watchful and then can witness. Once Arjuna can witness himself then he will be on his own to become aware. We have to remember that we can eat, see, hear, sleep on our behalf same way no one can witness on our behalf. Unless we take take that challenge and responsibility than only it is possible. Krishna can only give wake up call to Arjuna, so that he can witness himself.Witnessing is a relationship between subject and object. Awareness is absolutely devoid of any subjectivity or objectivity. There is no one who is witnessing in awareness; there is no one who is being witnessed. Awareness is a total act, integrated; the subject and the object are not related in it; they are dissolved. So awareness doesn’t mean that anyone is aware, nor does it mean that anything is being attended to.Awareness is total – total subjectivity and total objectivity as a single phenomenon – while in witnessing a duality exists between subject and object. Awareness is non-doing; witnessing implies a doer. But through witnessing awareness is possible, because witnessing means that it is a conscious act; it is an act, but conscious. You can do something and be unconscious – our ordinary activity is unconscious activity – but if you become conscious in it, it becomes witnessing. So from ordinary unconscious activity to awareness there is a gap that can be filled by witnessing.

On Identity

Who is You?This is a basic question on Identity we all ask and l think there are some confusion about finding true identity. We make an identity on how we represent us to ourself or to the world. If we are good at something ,our proficiency in our skills becomes our identity.now let's me question what was your identity when you're born ? That time you didn't have any ,you were just a baby and your intellect was not fully developed to understand what is happening actually. And it is said we have to creat our identity ,we are not born with one, it depends on several stages for different individuals.so its clear there is no  absolute identity ,it changes with time.So if something changes with time, should we be attached to it too much? I think no.Think you are a prized athlete, but due to accident ,you lost your both legs what will be your identity then, you can never run.people will forget your name gradually and someone will take your place. If I ask you what are you now,you will say "I am nobody" because you lost your skill of running, the way you represent yourself to the world ,and it's their response,if they give positive response you will call it achievements and you are so emotionally attached to it that you became nothing without it.But your identity should not depend the way you represent to the world and their response to it.May be after you lost your legs you found out you are good at writing also ,and then you identify yourself from athlete to writer, but at least you should keep the zeal inside you to find out, you've lost legs but you are not dead yet.I'm giving you another example think you are a director of a well known company ,and you keep your lifestyle , attitude that way because you want to feel it and want to make it yours permanently but one day the CEO of your company fires you.what is your identity then ,you were a director now you are jobless.Identity should not depend on anybody and no one can take your identity if you don't depend on others this is how we should be? How can this world decide what you are only you should know what you are.We creat identity so it can drive us and in doing so we can achieve something greater and impossible in our life but inside we get crazy and we lose our balance. The audience or viewer will not understand this, they will clap and appreciate you for your achievements but it's you ,you will hurt yourself if you identify yourself.do not do something because it drives you to make things happen, but because it makes you happy. And always remember If society gives you identity they can take it too. You have no control on them so it is not wise to give them power to make your identity. We all know about Ludwig van Beethoven, who lost hearing at the age of 46 .We all remember him as a great musician and many of us dream to be like him,but actually heattempted suicide because he lost the gift which he possessed at the highest. He can't play the only thing he played his entire lifetime, his piano. But afterwards he tried to find meaning in art, painting and writing. We all see how they represent themselves to us but after knowing their personal crisis and feeling their malady, you certainly wont wish to die like them.So don't fix your identity, you can do anything.this is the reason the subject line is "Who is you" not "Who are you".It's not a grammatical mistake.most of you know what your are taught to fit in this world, and in doing that we lose our speciality and become very unaware about the True "You".So there is another "you" hides inside you and I am asking you to reveal that third person "you" inside.Identity creats ego so don't take it too seriously. When we identify ourself with something we try to keep our image what we created at any cost consciously or unconsciously and the protective barrier we creat for that is Ego.So there is no particular identity which you can hold, you can be identified with anything.Thats the reason we have many identities, national identity, social identity , ethnic identity, personal identity and many more. You can be a bad ass criminal ,a beloved father,an escape artist and an immigrant ,you are all untill you decide what you take for yourself. You are nobody but you are not insignificant. The way I see is there should not have any identity, because our abilities are limitless.I believe everyone comes in this Earth for a certain job, we all are special at something and we need to find that, nourish that in time and work on that, which will finally make us happy. There is no absolute identity so there is no need to be attached with one, because you are not your mind neither your body you are gifted with consciousness and awareness about yourself and your surrounding and the more we are aware the more we will understand about Life.Identity is not for human beings,it's for objects because you can't change a object,it's fixed but you can change yourself.Do your job ,make an impact, and live happily ,this should be our purpose.Other things like fame, popularity ,wealth , identity might come or might not.Imagine there are billions of living cells inside you and they are doing their job so you can breathe,so Live well.
