Samyak Is Samadhi - In Gita Verse 3.13 The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered ﬁrst for sacriﬁce. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin.Krishna in this verse says live balance life. Live for your needs. When you are hungry eat, when you are thirsty drink water. But we do exactly the opposite, because of the taste we eat even when we are not hungry.Buddha has used the word Right.Gautama the Buddha has no leaning toward abstraction, philosophy or metaphysics. He’s very practical, down-to-earth practical. He’s very scientific. His approach is not that of a thinker; his approach is existential. When he attained and became a buddha, it is said that the god of the gods, Brahma, came to him and asked, “Who is your witness? You declare that you have become a buddha, but who is your witness?” Buddha laughed, touched the earth with his hand, and said, “This earth, this solid earth is my witness.”He is very earthy; he made the earth his witness. He could have said so about the sky, but no; he could have said so about the sun or the moon or the stars, but no. He touched the earth and said, “This solid earth is my witness.” His whole approach is like that.Buddha’s way is called “the eightfold way.” He has divided it into eight parts. Those divisions are arbitrary, just utilitarian. The way is one, it is not really divided. It is divided so that you can understand it easily. This is very fundamental: if you can understand these eight steps or eight divisions of the way, the way will open just in front of you. You are already standing on it, but not aware; your mind is wandering somewhere.The way is in front of you. So try to understand these eight steps as deeply as possible.All these eight steps are concerned with rightness – right view, right intention, right speech, right morality, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and the eighth, the ultimate, right samadhi. The word right has to be understood first because the Sanskrit word samyak is so meaningful, is so pregnant with meaning that it cannot be translated. Right is a very poor translation for it for many reasons.First, the word right immediately gives the idea that it is against the wrong. Samyak never gives that idea; samyak is not against wrong. Buddha’s right is not against wrong because Buddha says wrongs are many, right is one – so how can right be against wrong? Health is one, diseases are many. There are not as many healths as there are diseases, so health cannot be against the diseases – otherwise there would be so many healths. Somebody is suffering from TB and then he becomes healthy, somebody is suffering from cancer and he becomes healthy, and somebody is suffering from flu and he becomes healthy. These three healths are not three healths. The diseases were different, but health is one, and one cannot be against the many.Exactly the same is true about right and wrong. Right is one. Wrongs are millions. You can go on inventing wrongs, but right cannot be invented; it does not depend on you. Right is a state of affairs where you are in tune with the whole. That is the meaning of health too: when you are in tune with the whole you are healthy. The music flows between you and the whole, there is no obstruction. You feel a well-being, there is no noise, everything is in harmony. When the individual is in tune with the universal, right exists, health exists. When you fall out of tune, then so many wrongs arise there is no limit to them, they are endless. And you can invent new wrongs.Buddha says right is that which is not your invention. It is already there. If you go away from it you are wrong, if you come close to it you are right. The closer you are, the more right you are. One day when you are exactly home, you are perfectly right. Samyak and samadhi both come from the same root sam. Samyak is the step toward samadhi. If you don’t understand samyak, you will not be able to understand samadhi.So seven steps ultimately lead to the final step. Samadhi means now everything has fallen in tune with existence; not a flaw exists, the music is utterly perfect. But there is no better word in English than right, so you have to understand it. Right in the Buddhist meaning of the term means balanced, centered, grounded, harmonious, tranquil – all these things. But the basic thing can be understood even if there is no synonymous term in English to translate it.Krishna simply says that if you live Samyak life you live in Samadhi, with your open eyes. Just try for few days don’t follow your schedule of any food time but just eat when you are hungry and see the difference. You will eat the food as per your body requirements. This is what Krishna says that if you live Samyak life you are released from all the sins.

Gorakhnath - In Gita Verse 4.20 Abandoning all attachment to the results of his activities, ever satisﬁed and independent, he performs no fruitive action, although engaged in all kinds of undertakings.Krishna's words we will understand by teaching of Gorakhnath.He releases his embrace and shatters illusion… Gradually drop attachment, infatuation, greed, because whatever you are holding onto outside will be taken away by death.In a very simple words Gorakhnath says that to drop or come out of attachments is only way to know that our attachments are illusion. So it is better to release them, which is your death. Death is not of the body but when we live with the attachments that is death. Our attachments are maya. When religion says that world is maya we have taken it literally that world is maya, they only says that the our attachments for the objective world is maya.Once you understand through your knowing that our attachment is our death, our greed, infatuation, everything will be gone with death. In Buddha’s word with this knowing immediately you will be in middle. You will eat but only to survive the body not for taste, in that process you will enjoy the taste but you will not overeat. According to Krishna this act is ‘he performs no fruitive action, although engaged in all kinds of undertakings.”If you let go on your own before death takes it away from you, you are immensely rewarded, you are blessed. Death never comes again to one who leaves everything behind before death comes. Then you have nothing which death can take away; you have dropped everything on your own. This is called sannyas, renunciation.Dropping does not mean escaping; someone who runs away is still holding on. This is why he runs away, otherwise why should he run away? If somebody leaves his wife and escapes to the forest it only means that he is attached to his wife. Otherwise what is the fear, what is he scared of?If things can be dropped right where you are. The idea of running away is a mistaken idea. Running away is cowardice. Letting go does not happen through running away, it happens through waking up. Just look with awareness. Slowly, slowly become conscious and you will find that, in the light of your awareness, that which is worthless looks worthless, and whatever is seen as worthless you won’t be able to hang on to, your embrace will be released.According to Gorakhnath - He releases his embrace and shatters illusion: Vishnu the sustainer washes his feet.The great god Vishnu comes to massage his feet. Daring statements! The person who was able to say this was certainly a man of courage. Someone who makes Vishnu massage people’s feet has some daring, some courage. He is no ordinary man.Die, O yogi, die! Die, sweet is this dying. Die this death that Gorakh embraced and awakened. In love one has to die. Love is death. And someone who dies attains to the eternal, to the immortal.Gorakh is very simple man with his own extraordinary understanding. When you drop your attachments, which is illusion, you have become very ordinary person with extraordinary understanding, one who has achieve this understanding for him even the God Vishnu comes to massage his feet and he will not resist as he has dropped his attachments for the God also.He is not saying to strengthen your ego his words only says what Zen says - when you eat - eat, when you walk - walk, when you sleep - sleep. As I have mentioned in my this blog you will be in middle, you will eat but not for the taste but for the requirement of body, in the process you will enjoy the taste but because of taste you will not overeat.Krishna tells Arjuna to dropped all your attachments including for yourself and then you will performs no fruitive action, although engaged in all kinds of undertakings.
Don’t Seek Approval - In Gita Verse 4.21 Such a man of understanding acts with mind and intelligence perfectly controlled, gives up all sense of proprietorship over his possessions and acts only for the bare necessities of life. Thus working, he is not affected by sinful reactions.Krishna explains Arjuna that the person who lives for the need and not for desire will not do any sinful act.Here he tries to give understanding to Arjuna that need means right now in the middle of the war what is your need and desire.In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.12, I wrote about Need and desire.Krishna says to Arjuna first take up your desire so that you will know that your all the desire are your attachments for yourself. Your all questions wanted my permission to run away from war. When you want someone's permission it’s your desire to be approved by others, it’s your attachments.One has to see the foolishness of it. It is not a question of resolving it. One has to see the ridiculousness of it, then it falls. It is not resolved. Diseases are not to be resolved; they fall away. Just try to see the foolishness of it.Krishna is saying drop all this nonsense! You are already approved of, otherwise you could not have been here. God has accepted you, given birth to you. If van Gogh paints, whatsoever painting he creates is already approved of - otherwise he would not have created it in the first place. If Picasso paints something, in the very painting, the painting is approved of. The painter has put his heart into it. Just go deeper into your own being - God has put all the treasures that you need there. He has approved of you, accepted you. He is happy that you are!But you don't look there. You are asking from others like a beggar: Approve of me! -I (Krishna) am not going to approve it. As I am not beggar, don’t seek my approval, understand me from that understanding act, even if it is war or Picasso painting don’t make any difference. Your war will become as beautiful as painting of Picasso, Van Gogh. just drop your desire, which is your illusion. Because of this illusion you are seeking my permission.Once you know from your knowing that your desire and attachments are illusion the you will know that what is need at this moment. And just respond for the need is not sin. It’s art, it’s creativity.Let’s try to understand need and desire from our routine life:First try to understand from your small need of the life, when you are hungry you eat, but when you eat for your body requirements you will not overeat but enjoy what you are eating this is need and not desire. But the same food if it is ate for desire you not only overeat but it is sinful also. Because it is for desire. If you eat food for your body requirement and enjoy the food and it’s taste it becomes creative. And same food will be non-creative and destructive if you eat for the taste only.If you understand this from your routine life then it will be very easy to understand how the war can become creative.Right now when you are seeking my approval, your focus is on result and not actually happening in this moment. Second thing for you now war is winning and losing but not an opportunity to look into yourself, empty out all your desire and attachments which is nothing but illusion, from that pure space of yours can feel the way in which your body felt hunger and your dropped the desire for taste you will be able to drop your desire for winning and losing the war. Immediately you will know that the same war can become creative if you can fight Without Enmity as you have dropped your desire for winning and losing all your attachments disappeared. From that pure space you will understand that possibility of Fighting Without Enmity. If you Fight Without Enmity the war will become creative.Krishna is saying to Arjuna take up this challenge and make the war creative, by Fighting Without Enmity.

He was collecting the seeds for his next crop. We were unpaid child laborers, actually. He kept his best watermelons for the contest and he got the best seeds which would yield even bigger watermelons the next year. He would also distribute the seeds to the farmers in his neighbourhood. The farmers sowed these seeds to grow watermelons. He knew very well that he cannot do anything with his unconsciousness. You became an animal, a tiger; the body was so alive with energy, but the mind was not functioning. You became a bird, you became a man. The body has been functioning for millions of years.The body has accumulated much wisdom, the body is very wise. So if you eat too much the body says, “Stop!” The mind is not so wise. The mind says, “The taste is beautiful – a little more.” And if you listen to the mind, then the mind becomes destructive of the body, this way or that. If you listen to the mind, first it will say “Go on eating,” because mind is foolish, childlike. He does not know what he is saying. He is a new arrival, he has no learning in him. After growing up we realised that childhood days were the best days of our life, that's why everyone wants to go back to their childhood days. They were the days when there were no worries, no tremendous work load, no thinking about what others might think. Free from all these extra added problems in life. It seems to almost everyone that life was easier then, we don't have have stress, we live a peaceful life in which we were taken care by our parents and our elders. We don't think about our futures, we don't have the fear of getting judged by other people, we make friends from our heart without judging anyone's family background. Childhood is fresh Life and non corrupted.Those were the days with innocent attitude, we used to run play and enjoy every moment of our life.We used to forget the fights in few hours, no sorrows only happines. The only tension we had at that time was of homework nothing else. Relatives used to gift us, we learnt to be brave, stronge, we had our own world with no responsiblities at all. On the same time were very active and weren't obsessed with mobile/laptop.No job,No Money, no tension, free food, free hugs n kisses, bedtime stories. Eat,play,sleep......and then repeat we don't do care about anything else.You do not care how you look, what people think about you. You can play in mud without caring about your clothes, you can cry loudly anytime anywhere. We dont have any responsibilities and, the amount of care and affection towards us is so high and the major thing is that we are not blinded by money which is mere entity that cause the differences in the society. We're taken care by our parents, and elders, we're dependent on them we don't have to care for ourselves. Our hearts we're pure, unadulterated and simple. We're completely unawared from the materialistic world that was existing outside the walls. We have tensions in that period of our lives as well but they're just about studies Tensions of not finding my classwork copy just before the day of the weekly test, Tension of holidays ending and the holiday homeworks still pending. We love to get surrounded by our family, we feel secured, happy and love to get their attention. Childhood is the best part of our lives.

Even if the entire world is against us, we have parents who stand firm with us. We should always be kind, grateful, thankful & shld show our respect by showering our love & care towards them. The other fact of the society is male dominating, inspite of being educated. We give more encouragement to son in sports or any other field & less to girls. The state fund raised for girls in sports shld be easily approved & available but this corrupted ppl eat funds & fill their own pockets. Girls need to fight with the society & ppl around to prove that they are not less then boys & thoughts towards them are wrong & has no base. Girls are not only born to get marry & do household cores. Parents must take initiative to make their daughter realise of their own worth, potential & value. I salute to the parents who encourages their daughters into sports, singing, dancing or any other field. I feel proud to see parents fighting for the daughters for their rights & equality. The movie emphasis on the thoughts of the society towards girls whether its sports, whether giving birth to girl child etc etc. If given opportunity girls can be much better than boys & we can shape their career, passion & their life. The movie is humorous, it has drama, it has fun, aggression & passion for sports & it has undying spirit of hope & a strong message to the society 'Let her Live' & she can do wonders & create history. The movie is awesome & aamir was superb with his role of being father of two proud daughters geeta & babita. Our society needs more such inspiring father to create more such stories.
