STOP fraud in digital transactions

StoryMirror interviewed ThirdWatch and all about their venture. Here is what they have to say.Q. Tell us about yourself and your backgroundThirdWatch is about stopping fraud in digital transactions. We are avid e-commerce shoppers and has been shopping online since 2005 indiaplaza days when we used to order books online. Couple of years back I was trying to order TV for my Dad who lives in Greater Noida on one of the top 2 e-commerce sites of India however it was not taking the order despite being prepaid. When I ordered the same item to my Gurgaon address it came through. On digging deeper we found that fraud/abuse is a big problem in e-commerce and companies sometimes use broad rules like blocking certain pin codes/cities/states and/or international credit from ordering which affect genuine users part from fraudulent.Given our experience in building big data mobile analytics system we felt confident that we can solve this problem by using Ai and big data hence started ThirdWatch in April 2016.Q. What's is your business all about? Our platform Mitra prevents fraud in digital, banking and e-commerce transactions in real time using AI. Our system captures 200+ parameters and flag every transaction in real time as red or green. It generates a risk score also which defines riskiness of the transaction.By superimposing data from our own knowledge base and from third party databases we enhance the data captured from user transaction like zip code databases , ip address databases, mobile number validity databases. We also use micro models for address profiling, device signature, account profiling and velocity profiling. We capture the whole user behavior including the time taken to place order, the device user is using to order, ip address of user, location of order amongst others. We are very stringent on data security and sign a strong NDA with our clients however we do use networks effects to multiply effectiveness of our platform by collating fraud patterns across the client base and inputting values in our ML algorithm for e.g. fraud rate of email domain, fraud rate or zip code, area and many more.Q. How do you see yourself in next 5 years? In near future we would expand to South East Asia, in long term we will expand into preventing other financial frauds including Insurance and fintech fraud.Q. Message to your customers and viewersFor every customer, Thirdwatch has always been a profit centre and never a cost centre. E-Commerce companies can avail a free 2 months trial, and can actually validate the benefit we are offering themselves.Q. Which are your main clients?  What is the process of integrations? How successful have you been in controlling such fradulent cases in India for these companies?Traction has been phenomenal since we launched, We are currently processing about 5000 transactions per day with a pipeline to reach 50000 transactions per day. Because of our NDA’s and agreements with our client we will not be disclosing clients list, but  we are working with two of the top10 E-commerce Companies of India Q. What is the background of the founders? How big is the team?Adarsh Jain (36) and Shashank Agarwal (28) came up with the idea of ThirdWatch and utilising Artificial Technology to prevent fraud in the e-commerce domain. A few years ago, Adarsh tried to buy a Television set from a leading e-commerce website from his father’s residential address in Noida. The order was unsuccessful due to the location from which it was ordered. The same order could be processed, however, from his Gurgaon address. The problem intrigued Adarsh and he started to research and find the root of this problem. He got to know about the problem e-commerce sellers face, relating to fraud and abuse by fraudulent sellers. Shashank and Adarsh have prior experience with technology solutions, with multiple patents and patent applications in their names individually. They thought of combining their efforts to come up with an all-in-one, smart solution for e-commerce platforms. With a team of 10-15 people at such an early stage of ThirdWatch, the business is growing at a tremendous pace. More people will be on-boarded soon as and when the business expands to other cities and countries.Q. Is your technology scalable to a level wherein it can be used in govt offices or banks? If yes, please give the details on when do you plan on expanding there.Currently, ThirdWatch enables e-commerce businesses to prevent fraud and abuses they come across in form of promo code abuses, chargeback frauds, RTOs, Cash on Delivery frauds, identity frauds, and much more. ThirdWatch's AI- Mitra can be definitely used by Government agencies and banks to detect fraudulent users and block risky transactions. With regards to banks, Mitra can be easily employed to detect fraudulent credit/debit card payments, fake users, multiple accounts held by users to make fraudulent transactions, etc. Mitra can also be useful in the Digital India and Cashless society initiatives undertaken by our Government. There are numerous websites and apps that enable us to transfer money, complete e-KYC, file returns, etc. However, the risks associated with these apps are similar to the risks faced by e-commerce sellers. With AI, detecting and preventing fraud for the Government and Banks is easily plausible!Q. Data security being the Crux in today's internet era, how do you ensure maintaining that? ThirdWatch ensures complete security of the data provided by our clients with its strict Non-Disclosure Policies and Security Measures. The data provided is only used for analysing it and highlighting the transaction into 'risky' and 'fake' transactions. The security parameters are never compromised, and we maintain unmitigated security standards for the data we receive from our clients.Social Media Handles - Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thirdwatchai/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/thirdwatch-data-pvt-ltd/Twitter - https://twitter.com/thirdwatchaiG+ - https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/110280512617140226197/110280512617140226197Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWWWl8h50-w5xuek0GtUEKQ

Benefits of Renting A Private Villa
 7 August 2019

When going off on a vacation, you have an assortment of choices for places to reside. You could stay in a budget to a luxury hotel or a resort, or you can easily choose Villa Rentals. In today’s blog, we’d be glad to point out some of the top 4 benefits that go along with Villa Rentals.1. More PrivacyWhen you’re off on a vacation to an exotic destination, all you want is to be able to completely relax. Time and again, it’s hard to do that at a hotel or resort. You have other family’s kids running through the halls, neighbors from the adjacent rooms making noise much to your annoyance, and much more. Choosing to stay in villas on rent instead offers you a lot more solitude and serenity. Instead of staying with your family members in a small hotel room, you can stretch out across the house. With villas on rent, you can each have your personal bedroom, giving out complete privacy from even your own family or relatives when you require it.2. More SpaceThe size of the majority of the hotel rooms is often quite small. To accommodate around four people in there, with just one bathroom, can be quite hassle for a long vacation. Endow yourself more space to stretch out by choosing villas for rent. When you go for villas for rent, you will not only be provided by several bedrooms to laze around in, but you will also get a full kitchen, get-together areas such as the dining room and lavish living room, and best of all a private outdoor entertainment area with deck or patio, private pool and marvellous views!3. More Personal ServiceWhile some hotels and resorts may have in-house team of personal service providers, you won’t get the same quality of personal service and complete attention there that you will get when you hire villas with pools.By renting villas with pools, you get additional benefits of in-house chefs and housekeepers who ensure that all your requirements during your stay is fulfilled and you can engage yourself in making memories.4. More ValueWhen you decide to stay in a hotel or resort, you get beds and a bathroom and that’s it. What about luxuries beyond a room? When you choose to stay in villa with private pool, you’re receiving a lot more value for money. From the additional space to relax to the availability of personal amenities (not a shared pool that you find at a resort), a villa with private pool gives you an amazing value. Not to mention villas that offer gorgeous views of the Sea or hilly terrains! Combine all that with the luxury services and you won’t find better accommodations than that in villas. To start planning your weekend getaway, give villas on rent a call. We’re here to make your dream of an exclusive vacation a reality in the picturesque paradise we call home! When you decide to stay with us, you can anticipate only the top-class property and best service standards. We look forward to serving you and making your vacation experience a memorable one!

The final labours of Hercules
 15 February 2018

Tenth labour- Cattle of GeryonThe cattle of Geryon by Jun-Pierre ShiozawaThis labour was for Hercules to acquire the cattle of Geryon, brilliant red cattle that were guarded by Orthrus, his two headed shepherd dog. Hercules, for this task, travelled to the island of Erytheia which lies in the far west. In order to do so, he had to cross the Libyan desert. After traveling for long, he got frustrated by the heat and let an arrow loose towards the sun. Helios, the God of the sun, seeing his “courage” decided to help him and gave him his golden chariot on which he crossed the sea from west to east every night. Hercules rode the chariot to Erytheia, the “red island” of the sunset. On his arrival, he was attacked by the two headed dog, Orthrus. Using his famed club, he kills him with a single blow to the head. The herdsman Eurytion arrived to help Orthrus but fell to Hercules’s club in the same way. Hearing the commotion, Geryon joined the fray, wielding three shields and three spears, three helmets on his shoulders. He was slain and fell to one of Hercules’s poisoned arrows which was shot with so much force that it pierced his forehead. Hercules then had to herd the cattle and take them back to Eurystheus. Hera however, sends a gadfly which bites them, sending them into a frenzy, thus dispersing them. Over the next year, Hercules retrieved them but Hera sent a flood to prevent them from crossing a river that stood in their way. Hercules filled the river with stones to decrease the level and crossed it with all the cattle. On returning to Eurystheus, the cattle were sacrificed to Hera.Eleventh labour- Golden apples of HesperidesThe apples of Hesperides by Remnev, AndreyTo begin this task, Hercules first had to find the island that had the golden apples. In order to do so, he caught the old man of the sea, a shape shifting sea God. In some variations, either in the beginning or towards the end of this task, Hercules runs into Antaeus, a man who was invincible as long as he touched his mother, Gaia (the Earth). Hercules fights him and kills him by choking him in a bear hug while picking him up. Hercules was then captured by king Busiris in Egypt who planned on making him the yearly sacrifice. But Hercules broke free if his chains and escaped. Hercules finally made his way to the garden of Hesperides. On the way, he encountered Atlas who was holding the heavens on his shoulders. Hercules persuaded Atlas to get him some apples because he was related to Hesperides. In exchange, he would relieve him of the heavens until he returned. Atlas on returning, broke the pact and said that he’d deliver the apples to Eurystheus. Hercules conned Atlas into taking his place once more saying that he’d take it back from him after he adjusts his cloak. Hercules doesn’t take Atlas’s place a second time and leaves with the apples. In other stories, he slays the dragon Ladon who protects the garden and the golden apples and then returns to he king triumphant.Twelfth labour- CerberusA statue of Hercules as he subdues CerberusThe final labour demanded Hercules to capture Cerberus, the three headed guardian of the underworld and return to the king. To prepare for his journey to the underworld, Hercules travels to Athens and is initiated in the Eleusinian mysteries. He then enters the underworld with Hermes and Athena as his guides. In the underworld, he meets Theseus and Pirithous, two companions who were trapped by Hades because they tried to covet Persephone. One tale tells of snakes coiling around their legs and then turning to stone, cutting off their escape. In another tale, he invites them for a banquet but reserved seats of forgetfulness for them. They sit in them and are ensnared as they lose their mission in mind. Hercules frees Theseus but a part of his thigh stuck to the chair. However, when he tries to free Pirithous, the earth shakes, thus showing how much he desires Persephone. Hercules then meets Hades and asks if he can take Cerberus above ground. Hades accepts on the condition that Hercules subdues Cerberus without using any weapons. Hercules overpowers Cerberus, slings it over his back and takes it back to Eurystheus who at first cowers in fear. He pleads with Hercules to take Cerberus away and said that he’d relinquish him of all duty if he did so. And so, Hercules’s debt comes to an end

JAIPUR JAUNTS-1
 20 February 2018

Epitome of art, architecture and culture. They are rightly the essence of Jaipur, the pink city. Place so vibrant and colorful can be synonymized as “Gateway to Royal Rajasthan”. Art and Architecture is so vastly reflected in the city that once visited, it’s almost impossible to control the urge to visit other parts of the state.Food and delicacies of this region are something not to ignore either. Rich in spices, flavours and desi Ghee are truly the royal ingredients of a Rajasthani meal. This is the exact reason a clique of girls got lost on the streets of Jaipur looking for that perfect Gewarh,Pyaz ke Samose and Dal bati churma; until they could satisfy their appetites. One of the girls wanted to capture the moments and perceptions, while others wanted to be captured in the moments. While the other girls wanted to take back goodies and merchandises as memorabilia, this girl wanted to take back the memories, trapped in the right words.Again, one among them, wanted to live in the aroma and vibes of the place herself, while others wanted to just experience them temporarily. There was something beautiful about feeling on vacation and at home all at once, that’s what made her pen this down.Four girls landed in the city, early in the morning, unaware of even the places to halt. But were no slow-paced in kick starting the day, all dressed to perfection and making bold statements. “Yes, they believed in travelling in class”. It didn’t matter how their itinerary was, but their attires were sure as hell ‘well planned’. It included colors and vibrancies as a base, two days of modernity with some desi touch, while one day restricted to contemporarily basic ethnic outfits!!Itinerary was something like this, first day included all the outskirts, majorly forts of Jaipur. Second day an excursion to Ajmer and Pushkar. Last day included the local inner-city sight-seeing. Planned shopping was to be done either at Pushkar or on the last day of trip which went for a toss and they ended up shopping on all three days. After all, they were girls and it was a girls’ trip, Duuuhhh!!!!!!! Let me clarify – not being a contra feminist here.Experience differ from person to person and so does the stories of travel, even if it’s of the same place or of multiple times. Amer fort (as pronounced), which is written as Amber fort,is a delight to ones’ senses. Well planned, better maintained and least destroyed of all the forts deserves to be called the best of them all. A person can typically spend minimum of one to one and a half hour within the fort. Jaigarh holds world’s largest cannon displayed for public. The walls of Jaigarh and Nahargarh forts are infamously called Great wall of India similar to that of China’s. The view from above and amidst those walls are surely worth a great deal of calorie burn. Not to miss a couple of stops where a glimpse of Jalmahal can be spotted in all its glory,on the driveway to Nahargarh. One can even have some chai and coffee from the local vendors, while chilling at these viewpoints.Pushkar, girls fell for it the moment they entered the streets. Call them vibes, spirit or energy, there was something totally positive. People tend to get drawn towards the hippie culture and ambience the town has. Hosting its tourists with the world’s one and only Bramha temple, charm of the town lies on the banks of serene and sacred lake of Pushkar. The roads of Ajmer to Pushkar in between the aravalli ranges, a sunset on the countryside as a back drop to the camel safari, all adds on to the drive factor. A stay here wouldn’t harm your pockets provided the kind of vacation being looked forward to is of chilling and relaxation as a main purpose. Add on: There is a lot to shop at this place, bargaining is the key!Ajmer Shariff Dargah is a place of religious significance, where faith of believers can be seen at its highest. One thing to be kept in mind is not to visit the place during the times of prayer, especially on the days of Jumma. Tourists might end up waiting for hours together just to enter the center sanctum. Also, the inner most sanctum is the hardest to get in and out of, it is advisable to be cautious of your belongings and special attention required for kids. The most economical and convenient way of travel around Jaipur, Ajmer, Pushkar back and forth is by local buses .It's good to keep a track of time and manage the day accordingly. There are frequent buses plying around, reaching the destination within the span of 2.5 hours. However, if there are kids and people with ailments and ageing, it's advisable to hire a cab on fair prices.Final day, girls headed towards city the local way. The most effective way of reaching the local sights is by a rick or a cab. All the major destinations inside city for example City palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar are all within the walkable distance from one another. These structures of Hawa Mahal and city palace are of more recent times as compared to those forts on the outskirts. Peek-a-Boo through those colorful windows is how Hawa Mahal can be described. City palace is in all its splendor and glory of roughness. It is enclosed with Musuems, Art galleries, Durbar halls etc. which exhibit the objects used by the then royal family. Only place of interest in Jantar Mantar for girls was of structures containing zodiac signs, along with which they could get photographed. People with special interest in science and astronomical knowledge would enjoy this more than laymen. Otherwise, it is still a good sight to visit as a place from history, especially with the world's biggest sundial as a main attraction.Girls felt teleported to the era of maharaja, these structures gave them a feel of life within them. How they wished, they could go back in time and visit when these places were inhabited!!P.S. My HApPyy Moments:1.Spotting Colorfully Painted Elephants on the streets.2.Watching ladies cooking roti on the lanes of Pushkar.3.Getting a glimpse of civilization and mountains merging from Nahargarh.4.Buying a palazzo with elephant prints on them Yesss… elephant in it’s any form is LOVE!!! HAppy Vacations and don’t forget to check the next blog“Background Check, Jaipur Jaunts-2”, containing history of the places mentioned here in detail.

Please give details about your initial education and forming years of life.I have recently turned 13 and am moving to 8th grade. I have been born and brought up in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR. I started my schooling and continue to be at Shikshantar – a place where I can be ‘me’. From my early days, I have been fascinated by all kinds of cars – that’s what even my teachers from idiscoveri preschool remember about me. As I am growing up, this has become a passion – I am an avid fan of all kinds of car racing – F1, Formula E, Moto GP etc. I enjoy a variety of music and sports - from the age of 6, I started learning tennis & piano and they have gradually become an important part of my routine. I have fun playing games on the Xbox and PS4. And…as expected, I can remain engrossed in books for hours!!! How did you get interested in literature? What inspired you to write?   My parents always encouraged me to spend time with books. I remember listening to a wide variety of amusing stories in Hindi, English and Bengali from my parents and grandparents. This started me on my journey with books and this bond has got stronger day by day. At school, I enjoyed reading (or initially observing the pictures) the books from the small book stacks in the classroom. A few years ago, I and my friends became Tintin fans – we used to exchange the comics and read them together. We still do that with books we are currently interested in. During summer holidays, I have spent my time relaxing with the collection of my mother’s old books (& Archies comics!!!) at my Nani’s house. My interest in literature spans a vast range and I enjoy characters like Famous Five, Geronimo Stilton, Shonku & Feluda, Harry Potter etc. I have been entertained by the works of many authors - Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, Herge, Ruskin Bond, Satyajit Ray, Agatha Christie. Mystery & adventure is the genre that I love.  At school, we were always encouraged to express our thoughts and feelings on paper – first through art and then through writing. Starting with a few lines in my own spellings, I began writing short pieces based on the themes given in class.  I got a lot of encouragement from my teachers and parents and over time, my writing skills evolved to poems and short stories based on prompts or on areas of my interest. Guided by my English teacher, my mother approached Children’s World magazine and my work was well appreciated by the editor. When my first poem got published, it further boosted my confidence and motivated me to write better .  I was selected for a workshop ‘ Kissa-O-Kalam’ at Sahitya Akademi in May 2017 where I got to learn about different writing techniques from the mentors and hear interesting ideas of my companions. I have also participated in a number of creative writing competitions including Katha Utsav(2015), Scholastic Writing Awards(2016), Hindu Young World Club contests etc. These experiences have brought in new perspectives and enhanced my writing. What is your view about the present-day literary work?Modern day adventure stories excite me. I have read the series of Percy Jackson, Alex Rider and Time Riders. I find these to be thrilling with fast action and quick changes of scenarios – the twists and turns take the story to unexpected endings. Moreover, these adventures always involve some novel type of technological features which makes it more interesting. I find it difficult to put down the book till I have reached the end –you want to finish it as fast as you can to know the climax. Please tell us something about your literary work.I enjoy writing short stories and poems in English. I generally pick up abstract topics and use my imagination to spin stories around them. For this, I draw upon my experiences of travel, stories that I read, games that I play and what I observe around me.Some of my works include:Short stories - Autobiography of a Pair of Socks, A Chance Encounter with Hanumanji, Desert Escapade Poems – The Paper Boat, Fire n Ice, Falcon, Sounds of Silence I have also written few poems and short stories in Hindi – बचपन, जंगल बचाव, मन करताहै What was your first literary work and how was it published? My first literary work was an English poem called ‘Sounds of Silence’ which was published in the ‘Children’s World’ magazine on its 50th anniversary in April 2017. It is a monthly magazine brought out by the Children Book Trust, Delhi and is one of the oldest magazines for children.Where do you see yourself after 5 years in the literary world?                            I am keen to continue writing short stories and hope to sharpen my writing skills in the future. One of the ways I plan to do this is by pursuing my passion for reading. This will help me to get more ideas and to create extraordinary stories. What ways would you suggest to build a community for poets?                          Online platforms help amateur writers to share their works and read contributions from others. This can be enhanced by holding regular events and workshops. Emerging writers get to interact among themselves, appreciate other’s style of writing and learn from each other. Inviting a well known poet or author to share their thoughts will help young writers to get new ideas and develop their writing skills.      What message would you like to give to aspiring new writers?I always believe in the motto “Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.”                            How was your experience of writing on StoryMirror?Story mirror was convenient to access. The features of a theme picture and introduction helps to arouse curiosity and makes the piece inviting for readers. It is encouraging to know that others are enjoying your writings and read their interesting comments. Would you like to say something about StoryMirror?StoryMirror is a great initiative to bring together young writers and create a community for sharing , learning and developing literary skills. The tile is perfect for the plot. “The Divine Throne of Maharani Meeramani” is the first fictional social novel of the author Meenakshi Verma, in which she has raised the question of respect and rights of the third gender, ‘Eunuchs’ along with the equal rights of all human beings. She has not only raised the questions, but also tried to suggest a solution to the society. This is the story of  Jairajgarh: The Grand Empire Of Rajputana of Maharana Ranjeet Dev Pratap Singh is a great warrior, and a devious politician. The story starts with announcement of next war and news of Prince Samar Dev marriage. While going for the war the news of  untimely death of Prince Samar Dev Pratap Singh everybody was shaken. The entire Jairajgarh was struck with grief. Maharana had locked himself up in his personal room. He had restricted himself to a personal dark room and the words of his Father Maharana Surya Dev Pratap Singh were echoing in his mind and then goes to flashback of Ranjeet childhood memories with his father Surya Dev Pratap Singh and two wives Queen Manorama Devi and Maharani Kesar Devi and seven children. There is no unity in the family and where is no unity, there can never be peace. Both wives and their children all are always busy in pulling each other. While remembering these lesson from his father life, Ranjeet has decided he will marry as many wives as he want but was sure enough that he will make his child from only one wife who deserves to get the throne. He first marries Queen Vaishali as per his father wish but there relation was not much successful.  He then marries Queen Ambika love of his life. Later Queen Vaishali realizes the truth of Maharana Ranjeet and commits suicides and Queen Ambika was all alone after the death of Queen Vaishali and she realize the pain of Queen Vaishali had gone through. Maharana had never loved her and then later Maharana Ranjeet marry Queen Meermani. Meeramani and Ambika share a bond more than real sisters rather than the life of co-wives. Later Queen Ambika with help of Queen Meermani  was conceiving. The child born was was eunuch. If a child gets good upbringing and education then he could do anything and become anything, even if he is a eunuch. Deformity in a body could be anywhere so how is the child responsible for it, if he is a son, a daughter or a eunuch, but isn’t he still  the child to his parents. He can be anything for society, but for his parents he is still their child and separating a child from his mother or a father is a shame on humanity as well as society. As per Queen Ambika request Maharana Ranjeet to give throne of Maharani to Meeramani and also gives the right of his son as mother to Meeramani. From there Maharani Meeramani and her struggle begins with the Prince Samar Dev and form a army of eunuch peoples to give them their right to live Shiva-Jan Army their main aim was to protect Prince Samar Dev. The smooth flow of words makes the narrative not only easy but engrossing too. The characters be they the protagonists or the supporting souls, are well articulated, thus making it easy for the reader to relate to them, their views, their actions and reactions. In fact one can easily don their shoes and live the story without feeling ill at ease/ appearing odd. Each one of them contributes to taking the story forward without a hitch, without a hurdle. The author’s mastery over the language is evident from the terms he has used and the vivid description of events that unfold in the pages of the book. To write is an art, to keep the reader spellbound and yearning for more is magic. The book brings out sibling love at its best and also addresses certain social issues in subtle yet powerful strokes. This book deals with every aspect of struggles a women undergone during the ancient time and also serves a great social message about eunuch community. There are a few typos and one or two places where the author has made contradictory usages that need to be rectified. My favorite protagonist of this story is Maharani Meeramani. The book has worth to be carried and flaunt because it has got a magical touch of love which can be done in a single sitting.A wonderful read, one I’ll strongly recommend to all book lovers. I’m sure that those who don’t like the historical friction will not get disappointed after reading the book.Overall Ratings- 4/5 StarsAbout the AuthorMeenakshi was born on December 27, 1972, in New Delhi.
