She finished a round of strenuous massaging and then graduated to a rigorous body scrub. That grainy feel against my skin was refreshing and made me feel like I had been cleansed right from within my pores. My skin was coated up with a soft, creamy lotion and I was left alone, wrapped in a soft cocoon. The lady then tiptoed into my room and let me out of there into the shower, and the water washed over me like a ritual leaving my skin fresh, and supple. She has to finish these diabolical people or she will be finished. Will Ira be successful in unfolding and further finishing the racket? Will she come out of it unscathed? My TakeThe cover of the book is simple and the title of the book The Mysterious Widows Of Mehboobpura  is thoughtful, and completely justifying the story. They complement each other well and also is according to the story, so it’s a perfect combination. The plot is strong and the author has been able to do full justice to it. The plot covers social evils like drugs, prostitution, human trafficking army, veer nari lifes and struggles. The author has clearly crafted the family life of army officer. The Joy, pride, tears, hardships, separation , skipped heartbeats, the uncertainty and ecstasy.Every chapter starts with a poem which are beautiful and really meaningful. The words were simple and the language is lucid which eased the reading. The book is free from any grammatical errors and has been perfectly edited. The final labours of Hercules
 15 February 2018

Tenth labour- Cattle of GeryonThe cattle of Geryon by Jun-Pierre ShiozawaThis labour was for Hercules to acquire the cattle of Geryon, brilliant red cattle that were guarded by Orthrus, his two headed shepherd dog. Hercules, for this task, travelled to the island of Erytheia which lies in the far west. In order to do so, he had to cross the Libyan desert. After traveling for long, he got frustrated by the heat and let an arrow loose towards the sun. Helios, the God of the sun, seeing his “courage” decided to help him and gave him his golden chariot on which he crossed the sea from west to east every night. Hercules rode the chariot to Erytheia, the “red island” of the sunset. On his arrival, he was attacked by the two headed dog, Orthrus. Using his famed club, he kills him with a single blow to the head. The herdsman Eurytion arrived to help Orthrus but fell to Hercules’s club in the same way. Hearing the commotion, Geryon joined the fray, wielding three shields and three spears, three helmets on his shoulders. He was slain and fell to one of Hercules’s poisoned arrows which was shot with so much force that it pierced his forehead. Hercules then had to herd the cattle and take them back to Eurystheus. Hera however, sends a gadfly which bites them, sending them into a frenzy, thus dispersing them. Over the next year, Hercules retrieved them but Hera sent a flood to prevent them from crossing a river that stood in their way. Hercules filled the river with stones to decrease the level and crossed it with all the cattle. On returning to Eurystheus, the cattle were sacrificed to Hera.Eleventh labour- Golden apples of HesperidesThe apples of Hesperides by Remnev, AndreyTo begin this task, Hercules first had to find the island that had the golden apples. In order to do so, he caught the old man of the sea, a shape shifting sea God. In some variations, either in the beginning or towards the end of this task, Hercules runs into Antaeus, a man who was invincible as long as he touched his mother, Gaia (the Earth). Hercules fights him and kills him by choking him in a bear hug while picking him up. Hercules was then captured by king Busiris in Egypt who planned on making him the yearly sacrifice. But Hercules broke free if his chains and escaped. Hercules finally made his way to the garden of Hesperides. On the way, he encountered Atlas who was holding the heavens on his shoulders. Hercules persuaded Atlas to get him some apples because he was related to Hesperides. In exchange, he would relieve him of the heavens until he returned. Atlas on returning, broke the pact and said that he’d deliver the apples to Eurystheus. Hercules conned Atlas into taking his place once more saying that he’d take it back from him after he adjusts his cloak. Hercules doesn’t take Atlas’s place a second time and leaves with the apples. In other stories, he slays the dragon Ladon who protects the garden and the golden apples and then returns to he king triumphant.Twelfth labour- CerberusA statue of Hercules as he subdues CerberusThe final labour demanded Hercules to capture Cerberus, the three headed guardian of the underworld and return to the king. To prepare for his journey to the underworld, Hercules travels to Athens and is initiated in the Eleusinian mysteries. He then enters the underworld with Hermes and Athena as his guides. In the underworld, he meets Theseus and Pirithous, two companions who were trapped by Hades because they tried to covet Persephone. One tale tells of snakes coiling around their legs and then turning to stone, cutting off their escape. In another tale, he invites them for a banquet but reserved seats of forgetfulness for them. They sit in them and are ensnared as they lose their mission in mind. Hercules frees Theseus but a part of his thigh stuck to the chair. However, when he tries to free Pirithous, the earth shakes, thus showing how much he desires Persephone. Hercules then meets Hades and asks if he can take Cerberus above ground. Hades accepts on the condition that Hercules subdues Cerberus without using any weapons. Hercules overpowers Cerberus, slings it over his back and takes it back to Eurystheus who at first cowers in fear. He pleads with Hercules to take Cerberus away and said that he’d relinquish him of all duty if he did so. And so, Hercules’s debt comes to an end

Bhagavad Gita Verse 4.17
 10 November 2019

Martial Art - In Gita Verse 4.17 The intricacies of action are very hard to understand. Therefore one should know properly what action is, what forbidden action is and what inaction is.Krishna is saying that it’s very difficult to understand the complexity of existence and act. When to act how to act, when restrict ourselves from act, what is inaction.First start from Inaction. When we are self-unconscious at that time we are not taking any initiative to act, is called inaction but when we become fully self-conscious we respond to the present moment, this is also inaction, we transcended our non-initiative to respond.During the journey from self-unconsciousness to self-consciousness we could not understand when and how to act. In Buddhism and Taoist they practice Martial Art. They practice Martial Art to defend. Once you learn this art then in your journey from Self-unconsciousness to Self-consciousness you will give hint when to act and when not to act. Your action will follow the awareness of act to defend.Practice of martial arts may not seem at first to be a particularly Taoist pursuit - after all martial means 'war like' and these skills are used to injure others. However, there is actually no contradiction - Taoist martial artists learn to defend themselves, not to attack others. At the same time they develop suppleness, fitness and timing. Success in the martial arts requires discipline, self-control and perseverance, thus they are also spiritual and mental activities. The primary unifying aspect of the East Asian martial arts, which sets them apart from other martial arts, is the influence of Taoism and Zen Buddhism. This influence has resulted in a strong emphasis on the mental and spiritual state of the practitioner, a state in which the rationalizing and calculating functions of the mind are suspended so that the mind and body can react immediately as a unit, reflecting the changing situation around the combatant. When this state is perfected, the everyday experience of the dualism of subject and object vanishes. Since this mental and physical state is also central to Taoism and Zen, and must be experienced to be grasped, many of their adherents practice the martial arts as a part of their philosophical and spiritual training. Conversely, numerous practitioners of the martial arts take up the practice of these philosophies.Through the Martial Art practice by spiritual seeker defend themselves means their focus is not on others, but on themselves. They practice Martial art to bring the awareness in their action. They have found by practicing this silence arises in them. They become silent. As in their action no aggressiveness their thoughts disappear. No-mind is found in very relaxed manner.Unless you are relaxed you cannot be in no-mind. No-mind simply means that you have stopped judging, fighting with mind. You started watching the mind.Mind is one of the most beautiful mechanisms. Science has not yet been able to create anything parallel to mind. Mind still remains the masterpiece, so complicated, so tremendously powerful, with so many potentialities. Watch it! Enjoy it!Watch the subtle nuances of the mind, the sudden turns, the beautiful turns, the sudden jumps and leaps; the games that mind goes on playing; the dreams that it weaves—the imagination, the memory; the thousand and one projections that it creates. Watch! Standing there, aloof, distant, not involved, by and by you will start feeling… The deeper your watchfulness becomes, the deeper your awareness becomes, and gaps start arising, intervals. One thought goes and another has not come, and there is a gap. One cloud has passed, another is coming and there is a gap.In those gaps, for the first time you will have glimpses of no-mind, you will have the taste of no-mind—call it the taste of Zen, or Tao, or Yoga. In those small intervals, suddenly the sky is clear and the sun is shining. Suddenly the world is full of mystery, because all barriers are dropped; the screen on your eyes is no more there. You see clearly, you see penetratingly. The whole existence becomes transparent. We are fortunate to understand Krishna from various practices. Be in gratitude towards all the practices and you will understand yourself in a very simple way.Krishna through Gita guiding us how to be with ourselves in the middle of the world.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 4.13
 6 November 2019

Accept Yourself - In Gita Verse 4.13 According to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them, the four divisions of human society are created by Me. And although I am the creator of this system, you should know that I am yet the non-doer, being unchangeable.Krishna is saying that whole existence and the structure for human society of four cast is created by me still I am non-doer. Not only in in this world but in existence we also we need to be non-doer.In my few blogs I have wrote why even person like Krishna or Buddha takes birth. When we die, we die in desire while person like Buddha or Krishna dies they just leave this body and when the universe wants them to guide many people to grow in consciousness they take birth. Even to the birth and death they are responding without any resistance or any desire. As we die in desire we take birth also to fulfill our desire.Non-doer means without any resistance respond from your own wisdom. Be courageous enough to be with yourself. Be with yourself simply means accept yourself. You have to be just yourself:When you are not trying to become anybody else, then you simply relax — then a grace arises. Then you are full of grandeur, splendor, harmony — because then there is no conflict! Nowhere to go, nothing to fight for; nothing to force, enforce upon yourself violently. You become innocent. In that innocence you will feel compassion and love for yourself. You will feel so happy with yourself that even if God comes and knocks at your door and says, "Would you like to become somebody else?" you will say, "Have you gone mad?! I am perfect! Thank-you, but never try anything like that — I am perfect as I am."The moment you can say to God, "I am perfect as I am, I am happy as I am, "this is what in the East we call shraddha — trust; then you have accepted yourself and in accepting yourself you have accepted your creator. Denying yourself you deny your creator. If you go and see a painting of Picasso's and you say, "This is wrong and that is wrong, and this color should have been this way," you are denying Picasso. The moment you say, "I should be like this," you are trying to improve upon God. You are saying, "You committed blunders — I should have been like this, and you have made me like this?" You are trying to improve upon God. It is not possible. Your struggle is in vain — you are doomed to failure. And the more you fail, the more you hate. The more you fail, the more you feel condemned. The more you fail, the more you feel yourself impotent. And out of this hatred, impotency, how can compassion arise? Compassion arises when you are perfectly grounded in your being. You say, "Yes, this is the way I am." You have no ideals to fulfill. And immediately fulfillment starts happening! The roses bloom so beautifully because they are not trying to become lotuses. And the lotuses bloom so beautifully because they have not heard the legends about other flowers. Everything in nature goes so beautifully in accord, because nobody is trying to compete with anybody, nobody is trying to become anybody else. Everything is the way it is.Just see the point! Just be yourself and remember you cannot be anything else, whatsoever you do. All effort is futile. You have to be just yourself.Krishna tells Arjuna even though I created everything in the existences still as non-doer means I am also with myself, be with yourself and you will be connected with your own wisdom, your subjectivity and existences. Means you in unity with existence, and existence is using this body to act. This is non-doer. Remember everyone has to act from where they act makes difference in the end result. Krishna has also acted, Buddha has also acted but when they act they just respond to the circumstances. They don’t act because of their desire they act because they are compassionate towards us. When Buddha responded to Angulimal he acted but his action was from compassion towards Angulimal. All the others around the Buddha, who was watching Buddha they were also acting but their action was out of fear and desire to save their life.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.8
 14 September 2019

Prescribed Duty - In Gita Verse 3.8 Perform your prescribed duty, for doing so is better than not working. One cannot even maintain one’s physical body without work.Krishna now very specifically says to Arjuna, you act on your universal assignment. Fight Without Enmity. If you can fight this war and perform your prescribed duty of universal assignment then you will understand what I am saying. To maintain our body we need to work, if we stop working then our body will not be able to function.God not only to Arjuna but to everyone of us has given opportunity to act and simultaneously become self-aware. Overnight we will not realize what assignment we have got from God. Like when we enter the school they don’t say that you will become an economist, engineer, doctor, architech, etc. They just start with alphabets with everyone. Once you start studying you will know what further study you want to do. But that need certain time. Our Karma Yoga, means from our routine work starts. When we are walking are we self-alert, when we are taking a bath are we self-alert? Most of the time we are thinking either for the future or the past but never the time we are self-alert, self-alert means we are not aware of the sensations happening during that act in our body. As if some kind of current is passing through the space inside of our body. This is the alphabet of self-alert. As this practice will increase suddenly you will find that you are become aware of your third dimension, witnessing consciousness of yours.Once you become familiar with your witnessing consciousness, slowly you will get the direction exactly like what you want to study more from alphabat, you will know direction and will be able to follow the universal wisdom for your action. From this you will know what is your universal assignment. Why it is said that we need to pass through so many birth, because as we start becoming familiar and act through that universal wisdom it takes so much time. Like you cannot become graduate overnight. Same way you will not realize your universal self, emptiness, witnessing consciousness overnight, it will take its own time.Witnessing:Meditation starts by being separate from the mind, by being a witness. That is the only way of separating yourself from anything. If you are looking at the light, naturally one thing is certain: you are not the light, you are the one who is looking at it. If you are watching the flowers, one thing is certain: you are not the flower, you are the watcher.Watching is the key of meditation:Watch your mind.Don't do anything – no repetition of mantra, no repetition of the name of god – just watch whatever the mind is doing. Don't disturb it, don't prevent it, don't repress it; don't do anything at all on your part. You just be a watcher, and the miracle of watching is meditation. As you watch, slowly mind becomes empty of thoughts; but you are not falling asleep, you are becoming more alert, more aware. As the mind becomes completely empty, your whole energy becomes aflame of awakening. This flame is the result of meditation. So you can say meditation is another name of watching, witnessing, observing – without any judgment, without any evaluation. Just by watching, you immediately get out of the mind.Whatever Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and other people like him are doing is good, but they are calling something meditation which is not. That's where they are leading people astray. If they had remained sincere and authentic and told people that this will give you mental health, physical health, a more relaxed life, a more peaceful existence, it would have been right. But once they started calling it 'transcendental meditation' they have raised a very trivial thing to an ultimate significance which it cannot fulfill. People have been in transcendental meditation for years, and in the East, for thousands of years. But that has not become their self-knowing, and that has not made them Gautam Buddhas. If you want to understand exactly what meditation is, Gautam Buddha is the first man to come to its right, exact definition – that is witnessing.Krishna tells Arjuna perform your prescribed duty - Universal Assignment - instead of running away. Even your body also will survive only when it is in action. Become Witness to whole war and perform your duty by Fighting Without Enmity.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.19
 25 September 2019

Throw Yes And No - In Gita Verse 3.19 Therefore, without being attached to the fruits of activities, one should act as a matter of duty, for by working without attachment one attains the Supreme.Krishna here explains regarding freedom to act. When you have desire for fruits in your act you will find bondage. You will be suffocating in your action. Because of your desire for the result, fruits.Experience Freedom, Space, and Meaning:Non-attachment gives us the freedom, space, and time to contemplate the true meaning of life, while attachment distracts us from reality. It influences how we perceive and react to our immediate world, since a world of excess leads to a roller coaster of highs and lows. This in turn motivates us to seek out more of those high moments of pleasure. We enter into a hedonistic world of want-fulfilment which creates further wanting in an attempt to bring lasting happiness. There are three kinds of freedom. One is 'freedom from'; that is a negative freedom: freedom from the father, freedom from the mother, freedom from the church, freedom from the society. That is a negative kind of freedom — freedom from — good in the beginning, but that can't be the goal. Once you are free from your parents, what are you going to do? Once you are free from your society then you will be at loss. You will lose all meaning and significance because your whole life had meaning in saying no. Now whom to say no to??This is 'freedom from'. This is not much of a freedom, but better than nothing. The second kind of freedom is 'freedom for'; that is positive freedom. Your interest is not in denying something, rather you want to create something. For example, you want to be a poet, and just because you want to be a poet you have to say no to your parents. But your basic orientation is that you want to be a poet and your parents would like you to be a plumber. "Better be a plumber! That is far more paying, far more economical, far more respectable too. Poet?!People will think you are crazy! And how are you going to live? And how are you going to support your wife and your children? Poetry can't pay!"But if you are for poetry, ready to risk all, this is a higher freedom, better than the first. It is positive freedom — 'freedom for'. Even if you have to live a life of poverty you will be happy, you will be cheerful. Even if you have to chop wood to remain a poet you will be utterly blissful, fulfilled, because you are doing what you wanted to do, you are doing your own thing. This is positive freedom. And then there is a third freedom, the highest; in the East we have called it MOKSHA — the ultimate freedom, which goes beyond both the negative and the positive. First learn saying no, then learn saying yes, and then just forget both, just be. The third freedom is not freedom against something, not for something, but just freedom. One is simply free — no question of going against, no question of going for. 'Freedom from' is political, hence all political revolutions fail — when they succeed. If they don't succeed they can go on hoping, but the moment they succeed they fail, because then they don't know what to do.That happened in the French Revolution, that happened in the Russian Revolution…that happens to every revolution. A political revolution is 'freedom from'. Once the Czar is gone, then you are at a loss: What to do now? Your whole life was devoted to fighting the Czar; you know only one thing, how to fight the Czar. Once the Czar is gone you are at a loss; your whole skill is useless. You will find yourself very empty.  'Freedom for' is artistic, creative, scientific. And 'just freedom' is religious.Just freedom, neither for nor against, NETI NETI, neither this nor that, but pure freedom, just the fragrance of freedom — before you learn, you will have to know the positive one: 'freedom for'.Hence the satsang, Guru, like minded people, commune. It needs creative commune; to be creative in a thousand and one ways. In every possible way everyone are going to be creative, so that you can learn how to say yes to life. When the yes has destroyed your no, both can be thrown away. That is the ultimate in joy, in freedom, in realization.Krishna tells Arjuna be free of yes and no both so you can act without attachments of the fruits. Once you will act from this freedom you are self-realized, Supreme. You will have freedom in your action and not bondage.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.59
 24 August 2019

Body And Soul - In Gita Verse 2.59 Though the embodied soul may be restricted from sense enjoyment, the taste for sense objects remains. But, ceasing such engagements by experiencing a higher taste, he is fixed in consciousness.Krishna says the experience of objective world through all the five senses, which will remain with us and become guiding light within us, to grow in consciousness. For him body is manifested soul and soul is unmanifested body. He is seeing body and soul as unity, whole and not separate. Krishna says that when we can taste all our five senses from awareness and self-alert we will settle in our consciousness, in our subjectivity.Again let’s take the help of Tantra to understand this verse. If you are not very alert you may go on believing that you are moving into tantra, and you may be simply rationalizing your sexuality – it may be nothing but sex, rationalized in the terminology of Tantra. If you move into sex with awareness, it can turn into tantra. If you move into tantra with unawareness, it can fall and become ordinary sex. It has happened in India – because only India has tried it.All Tantra schools in India, sooner or later, were reduced to sex orgies. It is very difficult to keep aware…it is almost impossible to keep aware. If from the very beginning the discipline has not gone very deep in you, there is every possibility that you will start deceiving yourself. Tantra schools arose in India with great energy, with great insight. And they had something – because that is the last center humanly available: the seventh is superhuman, the seventh is divine. The sixth is the spiritual center. From sex to tantra: a great revolution, a mutation, is possible in man. And in the East, people became aware that if you become meditative while making love, the quality of sex changes and something new enters into it – it becomes tantric, it becomes prayerful, it becomes meditative…it becomes samadhi.Tantra uses sex to rise higher than it, but it uses it. Sex becomes instrumental. Bauls say that is not very respectful: “How can you use some energy? How can you use some energy as a means?” They don’t use sex as a means; they delight in it, they enjoy it. They make a worship out of it, but without any technique. It is not technological. They love it, and through love the transformation happens on its own accord. In Tantra, you are to remain unattached. Even while using sex as a means to go towards samadhi, you have to remain unattached to sex, absolutely neutral, absolutely like an observer, a witness, just like a scientist working in his lab. In fact, the tantrikas say that Tantra techniques cannot be used with the woman you love, because love will be a disturbance. You will be too attached. You will not be able to remain detached and outside it. So tantrikas will find women with whom they are not in love at all so the attitude can remain absolutely of the observer. It’s not only for the sex but for all our senses. Let’s take another sense Taste -  We eat very unconsciously, automatically, robot like. If the taste is not lived, you are just stuffing. Go slow, and be aware of the taste. Do not just go on swallowing things. Taste them unhurriedly and become the taste. When you feel sweetness, become that sweetness. And then it can be felt all over the body – not just in the mouth, not just on the tongue, it can be felt all over the body spreading in ripples.Whatsoever you are eating, feel the taste and become the taste. With no taste, your senses will be deadened. They will become less and less sensitive. And with less sensitivity, you will not be able to feel your body, you will not be able to feel your feelings. Then you will just remain centered in the head. When drinking water, feel the coolness. Close your eyes, drink it slowly, taste it. Feel the coolness and feel that you have become that coolness, because the coolness is being transferred to you from the water; it is becoming a part of your body. Your mouth is touching, your tongue is touching, and the coolness is transferred. Allow it to happen to the whole of your body. Allow its ripples to spread, and you will feel a coolness all over your body. In this way your sensitivity can grow, and you can become more alive and more filled.Krishna by saying ‘taste for sense objects remains’ - he says that you will be able to transcend all your five senses if you remain alert. Then you will be able to grow in consciousness. In Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.58 Krishna says - take all the senses inside you - he means go through it, he is not saying to become masochist he is saying in full alertness go through all the five senses and settle in your Consciousness means becoming so alert while passing through all the five senses that you remain unaffected of the objective world, mind, emotions, and you will be able to grow in Consciousness.

She has worked in a variety of schools across India as an English Language teacher, along with an experience of working in Nalanda University. She is also an avid blogger and writes from her heart at www. anuradhastringsofmyheart.com Being alumni of Fergusson college, Pune and a post graduate in English Literature and then working as a teacher; writing poems, travelogues, articles and then a novel came naturally to her. As an army officer wife, she has experienced and explored India from North to South and East to West as India’s true citizen. Though a Punekar by birth, she loves every moment of her wandering life and calls herself as the new age gypsy. A mother of two boisterous boys and a charming lady wife of a serving officer, a teacher and a writer, she wears all these varied caps with élan. What inspires you to write the book?Social evil spread rampant made me restless and that restlessness made me write a story of triumph of good over evil that too a battle waged by a woman who had nothing extraordinary about her, just will to eradicate evil from society and save her brethren. How did publishing your debut novel “The Mysterious Widows of Mehboobpura” change your process of writing?I am even more motivated, more responsible and disciplined. Of course since I have gone through the process once now I know the do’s and don’t of the craft. What is the main thing you want readers to take away from this book? The central idea of the book that social evils like drugs and other things which can finish a complete generation, a healthy society should be curbed and finished at all costs, it is possible to fight against it at your level, individually as well and it should be done by each and everyone of us.What are your hobbies, passion other than writing?Other than writing I enjoy travelling, listening to music and of course I read a lot.If I have a good book in my hand then I forget everything else.Do you recall the first ever book/novel you read?Yes, I was very small then, mere 3 year old. My father got me an illustrated dictionary with amazing illustrations to describe the word, along with an interesting sentence. I kept that book with me for longest time. It was part of my childhood memories. I lost it somewhere when we changed our house. What does your writing/reading space look like?My writing place is very quiet, calming. It changes according to the perception of a person. For me, my book getting published, gives me a stupendous feeling for the main reason that words do not have death. Words change into knowledge and will always float in this worldly space. How did you feel when the publisher accepted your draft for the first time ?The idea of the novel was revolving in my head for quite sometime, it was crystal clear in my head. When it got accepted by the publisher though, i gave a contented sigh, as it was a first sign that now the book is on its way for publishing.Tell us something interesting that has occurred since you became a writer? It is overall a good feeling, when people read my book and come up to me or call me to tell that they enjoyed it thoroughly. This feeling that I can give a good story to people, and people can take something out of it , gives a high. One character from your books, that you like the most?Though the character of the main protagonist Ira is very impressive. I like the character Jagtar for his struggle, the ups and down that he goes through. What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?The chapter where Ira visits the pind with Nimrat. I wanted to make it very interesting. I myself was on edge while writing it, as the words were tumbling off my fingers so fast, it was thrilling writing it down. What is that dream goal you want to achieve before you die?To write stories of varied genre, unique characters, thrilling plots, engaging narrative and reach widest number of readers.A message for aspiring writers?Write from your heart, tell a story which you must.It was really a privilege interviewing you. Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.7
 13 September 2019

Karma Yoga - In Gita Verse 3.7 On the other hand, if a sincere person tries to control the active senses by the mind and begins karma-yoga without attachment, he is by far superior.Krishna here gave distinction of Karma Yoga. In Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.3, Krishna explain us Gyan Yoga and Bhakti Yoga. In this verse he speaks regarding Karma Yoga. Till we are alive in the body, our body will act, there will be action through our body. But when we act, from where our actions come, that makes the whole difference.Just recollect moment in your life when you are angry your action is anger, when you are loving your action is loving, affectionate, if you replay your this incidence again and again you will realize that you were unconscious when your anger or love emotion was present in your action. You were self-unconscious. Even if you realize such a small thing you will find certain space is opening in you, which is you may name as empty like canvas. But like in our education unless we were introduced ‘A’ we will not know the ‘A’, the same way this empty space is who we are, not introduce to us. So we are unknown and ignorant towards self. Many times during the day we come across this space but because we have not got proper education to recognize ourselves we are unknown to this. Krishna says unless you act from this empty space, which has got no judgements, emotions, thinking, your act cannot come from non-attachment. This empty space is our subjectivity, our soul. We are ignorant regarding our empty space as all the religion has taught us scriptures but not introduce us this space, which is Who We Are.What Krishna says you don’t have choice for action but you have a choice whether you want to act from your unconsciousness or consciousness, your attachments or non-attachments. If your actions are from non-attachment then you are liberated. To Karma Yoga, Sufis call it “the watcher on the hills.” The valleys go on changing but the watcher remains on the top of the hill. Sometimes the valley is dark and sometimes the valley is light and sometimes there is dancing and singing and sometimes there is weeping and crying – and the watcher sits on the hill-top and just goes on watching.By and by the content of consciousness does not matter only consciousness becomes significant. That is the essential foundation of all true religion. And this is the understanding of the Sufis. There are four ways to approach truth, to be connected with truth. The first is known in the East as karma yoga – the way of action. Man has three dimensions in him: action, knowing, feeling. So three ways use these three directions: action, knowing, feeling. You can act, and you can act with total absorption, and you can offer your act to God. You can act without becoming a doer. That is the first way – karma yoga: being in action without being a doer. You let God do. You let God be in you. You efface yourself. In this, the path of action, consciousness changes the content. These two things have to be understood: consciousness and content. This is all that your life consists of. There is something which is the knower in you and something which is the known. For example, you are listening to music. Now two things are there: whatsoever music plays will be the content, and whatsoever you are inside, listening, watching, that is the consciousness. You are looking at instruments, through which music is played. Then instrument in your eyes is the content and you, who are looking at that instrument in the eye, are consciousness – the object and the subject. On the path of action, consciousness changes the content That is what action is. You see a rock. Somebody may stumble upon it – because it is getting dark, night is falling. so you remove the rock from the path. This is action. What have you done? Consciousness has changed the content. On the path of action, content is important and has to be changed. If somebody is ill and you go and serve him and you give him medicine, you are changing the content. If somebody has fallen in the river and is drowning, you jump in and you save him from drowning. You have changed the content.Action is content-directed. Action is will – something has to be done. Of course, if the will remains ego-oriented, then you will not be religious. You will be a great doer, but not religious. And your path will be of action but not towards God. When you allow God to become your will, when you say, “Let thy will be mine,” when you surrender your will to the feet of god and his will starts flowing through you, then it is the path of action – karma yoga. The goal of karma yoga is freedom, moksha – to change the contents so much that nothing antagonistic is left there, nothing harmful is left there; to change the content according to your heart’s desire, so that you can be free of limitations. This is the path of Jainism, yoga, and all action-oriented philosophies.Krishna tells Arjuna that you will be librearated if you do your part of action align with the universal will, God’s will, your act will be non-attached. So just focus on your assignment of the Universe, Fight Without Enmity.

All about ebazaar
 21 May 2018

StoryMirror interviewed Viral Thakker and spoke about his venture eBZaar. Here is what he has to say.Q. Tell us about yourself and your backgroundI (Viral Thakker) have 13 years of corporate experience (prior to starting up), primarily as a corporate banker (Relationship Manager) working at ICICI, HSBC and JPMorgan amongst others and managing a portfolio of Fortune 500 companies, top 10 Indian Conglomerates and top 10 PSUs. After completing my Chartered Accountant course, I had a stint in internal & process audits, though business (sales) was always my calling. Audit happened by chance (or brutally put for incorrect guidance and then lack of opportunity) and a Sales role was by choice. My last role was an Executive Director at JPMorgan providing Trade Finance and Working Capital Loan solutions to clients North and East India markets.I also have 20yrs+ of experience as a grocery retailer, in a family business. Have first-hand experience as a milk delivery boy to procurement, selling at the cash counter, keeping track of margins, SKUs, what inventory to push and how to build a loyal customer base built on customer service and trust.Q.What is your life's greatest dream? To be atop Mount Everest and to travel the world. Q. What's is your business all about?eBZaar.com sells fruits, grocery, mithai, cakes, flowers, meat, sea food etc. eBZaar.com makes daily shopping easy and rewarding for the consumer. While daily shopping has many inconveniences, it is no secret that customers love their local stores who provide the right quality, the right products and the right price points. eBZaar empowers these local stores to come online. We provide them a free of cost digital store to help them sell to online customers. At the same time, customers get to buy all their varied grocery at one place, in an online avatar and with all conveniences of online shopping added. In other words, it customers are buying from a real world store but without the need to visit the store.Q. What are its main features and USP?The main feature is that eBZaar allows customers to shop from her own stores  - that same quality, same price, same reliability. But now that her life is digital, she also sees the store in her digital world, available 24X7, better price discovery, improved product discovery and a uniform shopping experience. As soon as customer enters the platform, she inputs delivery address and her nearby stores are shown to her. She selects the store, shops from the store and checks out.We simply build upon the loyalty and trust that a customer already has with her favourite local store and add the digital layer; you can say we bring back the choice of products, quality and price points back to the customer; a factor that many large ecommerce offerings overlook.eBZaar also ensures that only your well known and trusted stores are on-boarded onto its platform, yes we have a curation process. This has been one of the success factors in our internal metrics which perform better then some industry averages.Q. What inspires you?To make a mark, to leave a legacy, to not give up, to make it happen – that is very inspiration to me. Sports stories and war stories of fighting out the odds inspires me. Towards, I see Entrepreneurship as an opportunity to make a real world large impact, to make the world a better place. And retail transformation is a chosen space due to my background.Entrepreneurship was always lurking as part of my aspiration as much as banking as a career. As I set about doing my research, I figured that the technology space was evolving rapidly, the big tech eComm players were becoming big, offering huge discounts to force customers to move online. The rate of technology adoption by consumers has been much higher compared to a retail stores. I realized that the retailer has failed to keep pace in the embracing technology, and if this continued, it will become a matter of survival for them. From the context of running a family grocery business for 25 years, I obviously had a lot of passion for this segment, and pull of retail was inherent in my thought process. I could feel and see their potential pain, this was most inspiration as I quit JPMorgan to set out on my own.The shopkeepers or the banyas are otherwise a very smart set of people. Sooner or later, they’d realise the need for online strategy. We decided to make this as our mission - to bring back parity between the tech savvy online consumers and the lesser evolved local stores, connecting them both on a single online platform. The obvious question was: What if I could add a layer of technology to create convenience on top of the existing trust and goodwill already built by the local kirana stores? Thus eBZaar was conceived. Beyond mere survival, it helps local retailer to also compete effectively in the digital world. I had always wanted to grow our family business manifold in to a big organised set of retail stores, after all as a Gujarati, business is in my DNA. And so our mission was formed, a mission of connecting a 100 thousand stores to more then 10million customers in next few years, using tech & online marketing for the digital transformation in retailQ. How do you want to see yourself 5 years from now?eBZaar is on a mission to connect million of stores of 100 million online customers in a few years time. While our current focus in Mumbai – the home market, in 5 years we should have completed our roll out to top 15 cities. Apart, we are working on a few additional tech products to create the desired transformational impact on the retail segment.Find them on Facebook.com/ebzaar , Instagram, twitter and google+.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.66
 31 August 2019

Sound Of Silence - In Gita Verse 2.66 One who is not connected with the Supreme can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?Krishna is making very easy for us to understand that unless we are connected with our subjectivity we will not find peace, silence. Without that silence no happiness can be found in life.Right now forget about our subjectivity. When we feel the connection with our parents how happy we are, our body is gift from our parents. This is our objective world, but the life of the body is gift of universe. Unless through our intelligence and understanding if we feel that connection with universe - that will be through our subjectivity - immediately we become silent. There will be pool of happiness which is not dependent on the objective world, it is bliss. It’s our own light, through which we find connection with subjectivity, see it, realize it, experience it, immediately that gives us the experience of silence and bliss. No one other than self can find this connection. No one can help us. But with everyone’s support it will help us to find out our own connection with our subjectivity. It’s through their sign that we can find our own connection with our subjectivity.Look back into your life in any small incident, when you were in emotional turmoil, there was misery, but during that time if you just become little alert towards yourself and suddenly you will find that in the middle of that emotional turmoil you become relaxed. I am not saying you will be silent, I am saying you will be relaxed. This experience of relaxation is nothing but your own light and through that you find your connection with the universe. Immediately you were relaxed. There was no external or objective world’s motivation, it was your realization. Without the objective world’s motivation if you feel relaxation in that moment you in your unconsciousness also become aware of your reality of yourself, as whole, not as fragments. This is what Krishna calls Transcendental Intelligence. For us most of the time Silence usually is understood to be something negative, something empty, an absence of sound, of noises. This misunderstanding is prevalent because very few people have ever experienced silence. All that they have experienced in the name of silence is noiselessness. But silence is a totally different phenomenon. It is utterly positive. It is existential, it is not empty. It is overflowing with a music that you have never heard before, with a fragrance that is unfamiliar to you, with a light that can only be seen by the inner eyes. It is not something fictitious; it is a reality, and a reality which is already present in everyone – we just never look in. All our senses are extrovert. Our eyes open outside, our ears open outside, our hands move outside, our legs…all our senses are meant to explore the outside world. But there is a sixth sense also, which is asleep because we have never used it. And no society, no culture, no educational system helps people to make the sixth sense active. That sixth sense, in the East, is called “the third eye.” It looks inward. And just as there is a way of looking in, so there is a way of hearing in, so there is a way of smelling in. Just as there are five senses moving outward, there are five counter-senses moving inward. In all, man has ten senses, but the first sense that starts the inner journey is the third eye, and then other senses start opening up.Your inner world has its own taste, has its own fragrance, has its own light. And it is utterly silent, immensely silent, eternally silent. There has never been any noise, and there will never be any noise. No word can reach there, but you can reach. The mind cannot reach there, but you can reach because you are not the mind. The function of the mind is again to be a bridge between you and the objective world, and the function of the heart is to be a bridge between you and yourself. The silence that I have been talking about is the silence of the heart. It is a song in itself, without words and without sounds. It is only out of this silence that the flowers of love grow. It is this silence that becomes the garden of Eden. Meditation, and only meditation, is the key to open the doors of your own being.Once you experience the real silence, you will see in your action there is some different kind of intelligence, just like when we add sugar in the milk we will not find sugar separately but while drinking the milk we get the taste of sugar. Similarly when you become really silent at that time you merge with universe, you will not be able to find universe and you as separate but in your action you will feel, not only you but your surrounding also will feel the fragrance of universe, which we call Compassion.Krishna is not only saying to Arjuna but to everyone of us, that we are part of universe, which can be realised only through our self-alertness, once you realize this you are connected with your subjectivity and once you are connected with your subjectivity you can transcend your animal nature, unconsciousness into your consciousness. Once you become self-conscious immediately you will find silence and bliss in you. This sound of silence Krishna says is your Intelligence.

Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.26
 11 June 2019

Self-Awareness Is Difficult - In Gita Verse 1.26 There Arjuna could see, within the midst of the armies of both parties, his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers.As soon as Arjuna saw both the parties he was shattered. As in the verse says that Arjuna could see, in the midst of the armies of both parties, his fathers, grandfathers, teachers, maternal uncles, brothers, sons, grandsons, friends, and also his fathers-in-law and well-wishers. This verse did not say he watched everyone and their positions. That indicates that he got into objective world and unable to turn towards himself in his subjectivity. Krishna had his own doubt how can Arjuna will be neutral when he will see whole Kuru family and their friends. To remain aware is difficult. To be unconscious is easy. If you are unconscious then you are part of the objective world and not as Individual, not settle in your subjectivity. In my blog Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.24, I have written that why Arjuna selected against the whole Narayani Sena Krishna, himself as charioteer on a condition, that he would neither fight nor hold any weapon, Arjuna knew that the whole purpose of this war is just not winning or losing or exhibition of their strength, but universe wants to deliver message to whole humanity that we can fight without enmity. Mahabharat war was not just an ordinary war it was war in which Pandava fought without enmity. Keeping this mindfulness of universe message he selected Krishna against whole Narayani sena. He gave priority to Universe and not his desire to win Indraprastha. Pandava did not want to win Hastinapur they wanted only their part of land and that is Indraprastha. The unconscious can be transformed only through awareness. It is difficult, but there is no other way. There are many methods for being aware, but awareness is necessary. You can use methods to be aware, but you will have to be aware. If someone asks whether there is any method to dispel darkness except by light, howsoever difficult it may be, that is the only way - because darkness is simply the absence of light. So you have to create the presence of light and then darkness is not there.Unconsciousness is nothing but an absence, the absence of consciousness. It is not something positive in itself, so you cannot do anything except be aware. If unconsciousness were something in its own right then it would be a different matter, but it is not. Unconsciousness doesn’t mean something; it only means not consciousness. It is just an absence. It has no existence in itself; in itself it is not. The word unconscious simply shows the absence of consciousness and nothing else. When we say ‘darkness’ the word is misleading, because the moment we say darkness, it appears that darkness is something that is there. It is not, so you cannot do anything with darkness directly - or can you?You may not have observed the fact, but with darkness you cannot do anything directly. Whatsoever you want to do with darkness you will have to do with light, not with darkness. If you want darkness, then put off light. If you don’t want darkness, then put on light. But you cannot do anything directly with darkness; you will have to go via light. Why? Why can you not go directly? You cannot go directly because there is nothing like darkness, so you cannot touch it directly. You have to do something with light, and then you have done something with darkness. If light is there, then darkness is not there. If light is not there, then darkness is there. You can bring light into this room, but you cannot bring darkness. You can take light out from this room, but you cannot take darkness out from this room. There exists no connection between you and darkness. Why? If darkness were there then man could be related somehow, but darkness is not there.By selecting Krishna, Arjuna brought light. Why in India there is lot of emphasize on living master/Guru?In the East, the blessing of a master is very very significant.A great receptivity is needed, a great feminine receptivity is needed to find the master. And if you are available and a living master is there, suddenly something clicks. There is nothing to do on your part – you simply be there. It is such a vital energy phenomenon that if you are available something simply clicks, you are caught. It is a love phenomenon. You cannot prove to anybody else, “I have found the master.” There is no proof. Don’t try that because anybody can bring proof against it. You have found it and you know it; you have tasted and you know it. This knowledge is of the heart, of the feeling. At the same time remember - Nobody can put you right except you yourself. The master simply teaches you to be a master of yourself — that is the true function of a master. He does not want you to depend on him. But the mind goes on playing these mischiefs. The mind wants you to depend. The mind is always in search of a father figure or a mother figure; you want somebody to hold your hand. You want somebody to guide, to lead. The master can only indicate. He is a finger pointing to the moon. But the mind plays a mischief: it clings to the finger — you may even start sucking the finger.Arjuna was well aware of his weaknesses. He also knew that only Krishna can help him to come out of his Unconsciousness.

STOP fraud in digital transactions

StoryMirror interviewed ThirdWatch and all about their venture. Here is what they have to say.Q. Tell us about yourself and your backgroundThirdWatch is about stopping fraud in digital transactions. We are avid e-commerce shoppers and has been shopping online since 2005 indiaplaza days when we used to order books online. Couple of years back I was trying to order TV for my Dad who lives in Greater Noida on one of the top 2 e-commerce sites of India however it was not taking the order despite being prepaid. When I ordered the same item to my Gurgaon address it came through. On digging deeper we found that fraud/abuse is a big problem in e-commerce and companies sometimes use broad rules like blocking certain pin codes/cities/states and/or international credit from ordering which affect genuine users part from fraudulent.Given our experience in building big data mobile analytics system we felt confident that we can solve this problem by using Ai and big data hence started ThirdWatch in April 2016.Q. What's is your business all about? Our platform Mitra prevents fraud in digital, banking and e-commerce transactions in real time using AI. Our system captures 200+ parameters and flag every transaction in real time as red or green. It generates a risk score also which defines riskiness of the transaction.By superimposing data from our own knowledge base and from third party databases we enhance the data captured from user transaction like zip code databases , ip address databases, mobile number validity databases. We also use micro models for address profiling, device signature, account profiling and velocity profiling. We capture the whole user behavior including the time taken to place order, the device user is using to order, ip address of user, location of order amongst others. We are very stringent on data security and sign a strong NDA with our clients however we do use networks effects to multiply effectiveness of our platform by collating fraud patterns across the client base and inputting values in our ML algorithm for e.g. fraud rate of email domain, fraud rate or zip code, area and many more.Q. How do you see yourself in next 5 years? In near future we would expand to South East Asia, in long term we will expand into preventing other financial frauds including Insurance and fintech fraud.Q. Message to your customers and viewersFor every customer, Thirdwatch has always been a profit centre and never a cost centre. E-Commerce companies can avail a free 2 months trial, and can actually validate the benefit we are offering themselves.Q. Which are your main clients?  What is the process of integrations? How successful have you been in controlling such fradulent cases in India for these companies?Traction has been phenomenal since we launched, We are currently processing about 5000 transactions per day with a pipeline to reach 50000 transactions per day. Because of our NDA’s and agreements with our client we will not be disclosing clients list, but  we are working with two of the top10 E-commerce Companies of India Q. What is the background of the founders? How big is the team?Adarsh Jain (36) and Shashank Agarwal (28) came up with the idea of ThirdWatch and utilising Artificial Technology to prevent fraud in the e-commerce domain. A few years ago, Adarsh tried to buy a Television set from a leading e-commerce website from his father’s residential address in Noida. The order was unsuccessful due to the location from which it was ordered. The same order could be processed, however, from his Gurgaon address. The problem intrigued Adarsh and he started to research and find the root of this problem. He got to know about the problem e-commerce sellers face, relating to fraud and abuse by fraudulent sellers. Shashank and Adarsh have prior experience with technology solutions, with multiple patents and patent applications in their names individually. They thought of combining their efforts to come up with an all-in-one, smart solution for e-commerce platforms. With a team of 10-15 people at such an early stage of ThirdWatch, the business is growing at a tremendous pace. More people will be on-boarded soon as and when the business expands to other cities and countries.Q. Is your technology scalable to a level wherein it can be used in govt offices or banks? If yes, please give the details on when do you plan on expanding there.Currently, ThirdWatch enables e-commerce businesses to prevent fraud and abuses they come across in form of promo code abuses, chargeback frauds, RTOs, Cash on Delivery frauds, identity frauds, and much more. ThirdWatch's AI- Mitra can be definitely used by Government agencies and banks to detect fraudulent users and block risky transactions. With regards to banks, Mitra can be easily employed to detect fraudulent credit/debit card payments, fake users, multiple accounts held by users to make fraudulent transactions, etc. Mitra can also be useful in the Digital India and Cashless society initiatives undertaken by our Government. There are numerous websites and apps that enable us to transfer money, complete e-KYC, file returns, etc. However, the risks associated with these apps are similar to the risks faced by e-commerce sellers. With AI, detecting and preventing fraud for the Government and Banks is easily plausible!Q. Data security being the Crux in today's internet era, how do you ensure maintaining that? ThirdWatch ensures complete security of the data provided by our clients with its strict Non-Disclosure Policies and Security Measures. The data provided is only used for analysing it and highlighting the transaction into 'risky' and 'fake' transactions. The security parameters are never compromised, and we maintain unmitigated security standards for the data we receive from our clients.Social Media Handles - Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/thirdwatchai/LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/thirdwatch-data-pvt-ltd/Twitter - https://twitter.com/thirdwatchaiG+ - https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/110280512617140226197/110280512617140226197Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWWWl8h50-w5xuek0GtUEKQ

Finance for kids : Why is US dollar more powerful than Indian Rupees
 2 March 2018

Adult (A) : Say there are two kids in the world. You and your friend. Noone else exists.Kid (K): Ok.A: You produce apples and your friend produces oranges. Since you love oranges and your friend love apples, you make a deal that every month your friend will give you 100 oranges in return for 100 apples. This is called barter system - you give me some goods or services and your friend pays you back in terms of goods and services. This practices remained for some time until there was some natural calamity in your area and you failed to produce sufficient apples for a month. But you wanted oranges. You went to your friend's place and asked for oranges.K: But why would he give me anything, when he knew that I couldn't keep my promises.A: Correct. So he made a deal. He gave you some paper, which had some agreement that you would pay him back oranges that he was lending to you. The agreement was made with the assumption that, you were an honest guy and you would keep your promises and when you had apples, you would return him back. Exchange of goods in this format gave birth to a new concept called "Money". In economic terms, it is called 'Fiat economy'- where goods are exchanged for something which cannot have a direct utility. Money has utility only when it is exchanged. Until now you had the need for oranges only. But say, you desired for pineapple, strawberries etc. and there are few more players in the market who are exchanging those fruits by issuing different paper notes. This kind of practice gives rise to the 'global currencies' where the value of each currency is different from rest of the world.C: But won't the value of each currency be same in a fair world?A: Yes, in an ideal world, the value of each currency or fiat money should be same. But here comes the complex scenario which is driven by power and greed. Every player in the market wants to get more by paying less. So your apple might not be as appealing to someone as it appeals to other and you end up paying more apples for same goods and services you get from others. C: Why would I pay more when I can get it at a fair price from someone else?A: The fair price is driven by market perception about certain goods and services. Since more players are in the market, more perception prevails. Good, bad and ugly are differentiated by perceptions only.C: Who controls perceptions?A: Good question. The dominant and powerful player in the market controls the perception. By influencing others he will make others realize that his goods or services are better than others and hence demand more value in return.C: But tell me how USD influenced the market to be the dominant player and hence more powerful in the currency market.A: Before world war I, every country was trying to influence other countries to become the dominant player in the market. During that time, Theodore Roosevelt influenced the neighboring countries to follow USD as foreign exchange currency rather than gold, which was used until that period of time. Some notable examples can be read in the history of  Cuba, Venezuela, Santo Domingo and panama. America had been engaged in producing arms by that time and was supplying to foreign countries including united kingdom.During world war 1, America gave some good number of arms to United Kingdom, who was under financial crisis and was dependent upon its' ruling countries like India and some south-east Asian countries to generate sufficient money to afford luxury the Britishers were accustomed to. During the financial crisis of world war I, United Kingdom took arms from US trough a negotiation or deal known as Liberty Bond, which amounted to over $20 billon, which would be much more than what is America's current national economy at the moment.C: You mean UK was knowing they cannot pay back the loan, but they were still keen on taking the arms from US to fight against other countries and in that case Americans were keen on giving some loans which they were confident that it could not be repaid.A: Power to control others and the greed to have more are biggest vices of the human being. The then political strategists of America were thinking much beyond their time - at least 50 years ahead of time. UK sooner became an ally in America's endeavor to have USD as global currency post world war II. But acceptance by few countries does not make a currency truly global.C: What happened next?A: After world war II, America was perceived as the super power of the world. Thanks to some scientist who could not visualize the impact of atom bomb before inventing them. Every country was agreeing to a global bank known as World Bank and fund of funds known as International monetary fund. The duty of both entities were to ensure fair market practices in the globe. However influence of US continued and they changed the exchange methods from gold transactions to US dollar. There were a lot of factors which were either manipulated or done strategically to get it done.C: I understand dollar became global currency, but why it became more powerful than Indian rupees.A: Once you have the control of global currency, you can manipulate that in your favor. I will go back to that apple and orange examples. Now that your apple is purchased by US, who has certain criteria of selection of apples to know the fair price of apples. After careful observations, it is declared that your 100 apples are actually 50 apples worth as per US standard. You have two choices - either you don't sell apple or sell in the different market. Say in such scenarios, you don't have the sufficiently big market to sell your apples and you know that if you fail to sell in US, you might lose more money. You don't bargain much and accept the negotiations done by them. When everyone started accepting the terms defined by them, the power of dollar became more. I hope that answers your question.C: Can it never be reversed. I mean INR becomes more powerful than USD?A: Yes, logically possible, for that India as a country has to think ahead of time and the strategist and policymaker make the country self-dependent and more job opportunity is created internally rather than dependent upon foreign resources. Many of the natural resources are under-utilized in India so as the human capital. If that is oriented in right manner, then time is not far we see the reverse action. India needs to be technologically sound and the education system should teach how to be innovative and creative rather than just compete to score marks. I strongly believe, your generations can do.C: Yes, we will. Thank you for the answer.

Eight female led crime TV shows you must watch
 14 March 2018

I love, love, love watching crime shows and love more Nordic noir and the temperamental detective, where the moods are as erratic and dark as the plot. Here is a list of a few I watched over the last year which has strong female leads. A few of them are incredibly edge of the seat with a fantastic plot and cast to execute them. And thankfully, the women at the center are not seeking or falling in love with the nearest good-looking man as a respite from (and sometimes at the cost of) their detective duties. They are middle-aged with children or are single and unapologetic about it, much flawed and human, yet brilliant and unwavering in their goal. Check them out and let me know others. This genre, I wish, would grow in multitudes1.The Fall: Gillian Anderson returns to the small screen as Stella Gibson and how brilliant is she? We know both the hunted and the hunter in this slow, moody, psychological thriller and yet, the cat and mouse game is less than predictable. The plot: when a Belfast murder remains unsolved, Stella Gibson (Anderson) is brought in to catch the killer. DSI Gibson soon fears that a murder spree is underway in Belfast and a killer is on the loose. An equally brilliant Jamie Dornan plays serial killer Paul Spector whose identity is known within a few minutes of the first episode, but hey, watch it and tell me if that makes it any less exciting.2. The Killing: Who killed Rosie Larsen (and other questions answered). The Killing is based on the Danish television series Forbrydelsen (The Crime) and stars Detective Sarah Linden and her loyal love-to-hate-you-hate-to-love-you sidekick Stephen Holder (I admit, I fell a bit in love with the damaged piece that was him by the end of it). Each episode ends with a cliffhanger that points of a possible killer who doesn’t turn out to be the one in the next (but of course!). In essence, the show follows the investigation of the murder of local teenager Rosie Larsen but is intertwined with others: the police investigation into the murder, the Larsen family's attempts to deal with their grief, and the fluctuating electoral fortunes of a political campaign that becomes embroiled in the case.3. Happy Valley: Oh, how much do I LOVE BBC’s crime productions? There are five on this list (barring The Killing) and I say without hesitation they have mastered the art (or science or what have you). Happy Valley is set in the Calder Valley and Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) plays a strong-willed police sergeant, still coming to terms with the suicide of her daughter, Becky, eight years earlier. She is now bringing up Becky's young son, Ryan, the product of rape. Catherine hears that Tommy Lee Royce, the man responsible for the brutal rape that impregnated Becky and drove her to suicide shortly after Ryan was born, is out of prison after serving eight years for drug charges. Catherine becomes obsessed with finding Royce, unaware that he is involved in the kidnapping of a young girl—Ann Gallagher. Things get worse as the kidnappers try to hide their tracks and Catherine grows neurotically persistent.4. Vera: Based on the Vera Stanhope novels by bestselling author Ann Cleeves, Vera (starring Brenda Blethyn in the titular role) is an employee of the fictional Northumberland and City Police. She is obsessive about her work and driven by her own demons. She plods along in a constantly disheveled state but has a calculating mind, and despite her irascible personality, she cares deeply about her work and comrades (-- from Wikipedia). Everything about her screams motherly and cantankerous, yet she is a formidable force to watch. And you will grow very fond of her by the end of it.5. The Honourable Woman: Not a detective series this but I couldn’t help adding it to the list. THW is a political spy thriller which is so nail-bitingly good, you have to watch now. It features Maggie Gyllenhaal in the title role (isn’t that the new, happy trend: small screen revival projects for the out-of-work or fading big screen stars?). She won a Golden Globe for it. Totally deserved, may I add? Gyllenhaal plays Anglo-Jewish businesswoman Nessa Stein who eight years earlier became the new head of the Stein Group after her brother abruptly stepped down. As she continues her work to maintain the Middle East peace process, old secrets come to the fore and bodies pile up. The stakes are raised high when Kasim, the son of Atika, Nessa's friend as well as Ephram Stein's Palestinian housekeeper, is kidnapped.6. Top of the Lake: Okay, to be honest, this is not one of my favorites. I thought the plot fell a bit flat towards the end. But the characters and the settings are quirky and unique and the whimsical style of storytelling reasons enough to watch. The drama stars Elizabeth Moss (someone I admired in Mad Men and will, till the end of life, know as Peggy Olson). She plays Detective Robin Griffin, a Sydney police officer returning to her remote New Zealand hometown of Laketop, facing the crimes surrounding the pregnancy and disappearance of a local 12-year-old girl, Tui.7. Spiral (Engrenages): Another one to add to the list is the French BBC Drama - Spiral: Engrenages - broadcast on Canal+. It stars two powerful female characters: a quirky, obsessed, but brilliant female Police Captain Laure Berthaud, and a ruthless, corrupt and beautiful female lawyer Joséphine Karlsson, both caring less about the many feathers they ruffle. These female characters are primary to the plot and rarely was their gender invoked in relation to their job role or position of power. This feminist observation apart, the 12 part series is gripping: the characters etched out in great detail (I felt for each of them in their individual disasters and triumphs), their relationships and challenges realistic, and the three subplots cleverly executed and tied together. A minor quibble was the need to look at the subtitles constantly, but I swear by end of it I could speak a little bit of French myself.8. Marcella: Err... another British television crime noir detective series. Yeah, mea culpa, but I do like them so much! They are astonishingly atmospheric—a trait I look for in everything I read or watch—the cast and setting need to grow on me. The series stars Anna Friel as Marcella Backland, a former London detective who is asked to return to work to investigate an unsolved case from eleven years ago involving an unidentified serial killer who appears to have become active again. What I love best is she is un-coplike, almost vulnerable and thus, very relatable. Series 2 started airing in Feb, 2018 and I can’t wait for it to come to Netflix.Homeland and House of Cards are the other two wildly popular series with strong female leads. Might I also dare add Game of Thrones season 6? Finally, we have women sailing to conquer worlds and play both the hero and the villain. We have come a long way.But you know what else I wish for now? That the victims of these murders are not women! YES, let’s write a book or make a TV series where the victims of the serial killer is not a WOMAN? Yes, yes, please? I know, we make a pretty picture no matter what, but let’s not have any more cowering and whimpering. Just for a change.About the writer: Smita Bhattacharya is an author based out of Mumbai. She has a particular soft spot for psychological thriller novels and TV series. Her latest novel, Dead to Them, was released in January 2018 and is currently garnering rave reviews. Her other two books, He Knew a Firefly and Vengeful, have ranked among the top 100 Asian Literature & Fiction on Amazon. Several of her short stories have appeared in Indian and international publications over the years, making her a very happy person indeed. More about her at: www.smitabhattacharya.com

Focus On Learning and Creating Rather Than Entertainment and Distraction
 25 February 2018

An extraction from my reading experience, which converted me a writer. I cannot spend a single day without writing, even though I had to get up in the midnight to do it. Though, there is not much progress in my professional career now, but I feel writing converted me to an absolutely different personality. “Ordinary people seek entertainment. Extraordinary people seek education and learning.” -Benjamin Hardy Most people are distracted right now. They’re distracted while they’re at work. They’re distracted when they’re with family and friends. They’re distracted at the gym, on their commute, and even in the shower. The mediocre majority will continue going through life this way, never experiencing the fullness of a life filled with deep focus and purpose. Most people don’t prioritize learning and creating. They don’t care enough about any efforts to invest in their personal development and growth.Entertainment is more important. Most people have replaced achieving their life dreams and goals with TV, partying, and social media.Their life is characterized by entertainment and distraction, not learning and creating. As a result, they don’t have close relationships. They’re stuck in jobs they hate. Their life is on the fast-track to disappointment, and they don’t know what to do.Benjamin Hardy once said, “Entertainment and distraction is the enemy of creation and learning. They will keep you in mediocrity.”If you don’t want to end up living a life of mediocrity, focus on learning and education. It’s the fastest way to become extraordinary, wealthy, and successful. The Quality of Your Learning Determines the Quality of Your Success“Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is something you attract by the person you become.” -Hal ElrodYour income, relationships, and success are determined by your learning. Most people spend more money on entertainment and gadgets than self-education. This is why they remain poor and broke with superficial relationships. The quality of your learning and how much you invest in yourself directly determines the extent of your growth. In the words of Ryan Holiday:“The extent of the struggle determines the extent of the growth.”You are defined by what you’re willing to struggle for. Most people aren’t willing to really struggle for anything. They blindly accept what they’re given, and spend their free time disengaging from reality.Renowned motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said the most successful people in the world are always lifelong learners. They fully understand that their level of education directly determines their quality of life.“Formal education makes a living, but self-education makes a fortune,” Rohn explained. It’s not just about a college degree. Most of what you learn in college isn’t applicable to real-world success. It’s your self-education, the kind of learning that helps you develop into the next evolution of yourself. Most people will continue to go through life “in quiet desperation, with their songs left unsung.” Others dictate their income, their happiness, and their fulfillment. If you don’t want to end up with regret on your death-bed, choose self-education over entertainment.“You’ve got to wake up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.” George LarimerWe Attract the Things That Reflect Who We AreDarren Hardy, author of The Compound Effect, once told a story about how he ended up with his wife. When he was in his 20’s, he began compiling an enormous list of every attribute he wanted his future wife to have. He eventually filled 40 pages detailing the most exquisite and perfect match he could think of.At the end of his writing, he realized something very important:Any woman like that wouldn’t want to have anything to do with someone like him!Hardy realized he needed to become a far better version of himself to attract a woman like that. You must become a far better version of yourself to achieve the enormous success you want.Benjamin Hardy put it this way: “We attract into our lives what we are.” Ask yourself — if you want a million dollars, do you have the mindset of a millionaire? Do you have the financial knowledge and self-discipline to own that kind of money? Most people don’t, yet they continue complaining about being poor. You’ll never become a millionaire if you don’t become someone who could be a millionaire!Every day, millions of people attract mediocre opportunities into their lives — jobs, time investments, dating partners, etc. — not realizing they are attracting exactly who they are!Extremely successful people are magnets of extraordinary opportunities. They are individuals who gravitate towards success, because they are successful themselves. If you constantly engage in mediocre, subpar activities with toxic individuals, you’ll only receive similar opportunities. You’ll never experience the type of success of the world’s most extraordinary people, because success is something you attract by the person you become.“Every next level of your life will demand a different you.” -Leonardo DiCaprioStep Forward Into Growth or Backwards Into Security“It’s absurd that we would prioritize the hottest new device, the cool car, or trendy toy over owning that which makes us feel the most engaged and most alive.” -Neil PatelC.S. Lewis once described humans this way: “We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”You do not have the luxury to “wait” to improve. Like an egg, you’ll either progress into a new version of yourself, or go rotten. There is no other way. Most people continue choosing security and safety over the choice to become the fullest version of themselves.Said Louis Sachar:“So, what’s it going to be — safety, or freedom? You can’t have both.”Right now, you have the choice — step forward into growth and development, or step backwards into safety and security. Most people step backward, slowly killing their chances to become extraordinary.Seth Godin once said, “The problem is that our culture has engaged in a Faustian bargain, in which we trade our genius and artistry for apparent stability.”The sad truth is: there’s no such thing as security. Money can be taken away (how many times have you heard of a multi-millionaire going bankrupt?). Our health could fail at any time. Millions of people are abruptly fired or laid off every year.Security isn’t real.We must choose to design our own life, and let go of our addiction to “apparent stability.” If you’ve traded your genius and creativity for “stability,” it’s time to get those back.“The goal of life is not to relax on the beach, sipping mojitos all day. The purpose is to find something you love that adds value to the world.” -Ben FoleyMost People Won’t Ever Experience True Success“The mediocre have a very narrow perception of reality, and in turn, their lives. They see things as they are, not how they can be.” -Ryan HolidayLearning and self-education aren’t popular. Most people don’t read books, attend seminars, or take even the most basic steps for self-improvement. They would rather choose distraction and entertainment. Most people will never be successful because they will spend their life this way. With just a few small changes to your life, you could enter into the top 5% — 10% of your field. The competition is extremely low! Amazing, extraordinary opportunities are abundant, because so few people ever take the steps to discover them. You can become one of the few truly successful people in the world by taking your self-education and learning seriously. In a world of mediocrity, you can become extraordinary with only a few simple tweaks. So how do you start? The more you keep evolving in better versions of yourself, the more you’ll need to be focused on the things that are most important.Your days must be characterized by high-quality activities and behaviors.Benjamin Hardy put it this way: “Success is continuously improving who you are, how you live, how you serve, and how you relate.”James Altucher once said, “Every day, check these 4 boxes: Have I improved 1% on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health?”You can start small. Even the smallest improvement is more than most people will ever see. While most people change slowly and unconsciously over time, you can begin taking control of your success by choosing to make a few small improvements. That’s all it takes. If You Want to Live an Extraordinary Life, You Need to Give Up a Normal One“If you want to live an extraordinary life, you have to give up many of the things that are part of a normal one.” -Srinivas RaoExtraordinary people are very uncommon. Their lifestyle of learning and self-education aren’t popular, either. Odds are, once you begin investing in yourself, you’ll find it’s a lonely road.Todd Henry wisely said, “The more bold you are, the more rejection you’ll experience.” The mob of the majority doesn’t like deserters. If you want an extraordinary life, you’ll need to give up many parts of the “normal” life. That might mean giving up common toxic behaviors or hanging out with toxic people. If “everyone does it,” you’d do well to give it a long, hard look. Most people will never achieve an extraordinary life. That’s OK. The extraordinary life isn’t for everyone. Learning and self-education take time, energy, and focus that most people would rather spend on entertainment and distraction — “ordinary” things.“Great” opportunities cost “good” ones; you can’t have both.Said Benjamin Hardy:Before you evolve, you can reasonably spend time with just about anyone. You can reasonably eat anything placed in front of you.You can reasonably justify activities and behaviors that are, frankly, mediocre. But as your vision expands, you realize you need to make adjustments. You can’t spend your money on junk anymore. You need to manage your time much more diligently. You need to invest in yourself and your future. To avoid mediocrity, you can’t continue being with negative people. You can’t keep eating crappy foods that slow you down. You can’t do many of the things you used to do.This is what extraordinary requires. Most people see the price and simply say “no thanks.”But you can do anything if you pay the price.“Every skill you acquire doubles your odds of success.” -Scott AdamsIn Conclusion“Who you are is a result of who you were, but where you end up depends entirely on who you choose to be from this moment forward.” -Hal ElrodThere are probably dozens of things you do on a daily basis that aren’t helping you improve. Most people live their lives on other people’s terms. Their days are spent working on other people’s goals and following the rules of someone else.Entertainment and distraction rule society. There will never be a shortage of TV shows, Buzzfeed articles, or Bad Lip Reading videos to take up your time.If you want to avoid mediocrity and achieve enormous success, you must cut out distractions and prioritize learning instead. Most people will go their whole lives as a slave to entertainment. They prioritize entertainment over improving their life, their family’s well-being, and their hopes and dreams. This is how people can stay at jobs they hate for years. It’s how people stay in toxic relationships and remain perpetually broke. They don’t bother learning how to succeed. If your lifestyle does not add to your growth and improvement, it will bring you down.Prioritize learning. Invest in self-education.Choose success over mediocrity.

DEEP IN MY HEART, EMBOSSED LIKE AN ART.
 21 March 2018

She was married to a person she never loved. She never had a right to marry the person she loved. Even after all the years of fighting for her unfound love. She got married. Got married to a fake heart. A kind of heart which never came forward, letting the mind do it’s work. A work to undress a soul. With a right on that soul, every night he just used her body as a mode of entertainment. Something known as lust became his only mode of entertainment. Something known as lust became his only mode of living a happy life. Something known as lust became a mode of complete destruction of her life. Every night she felt like her soul is being 'raped'. Every night she saw a person on her bed with those devil horns. Waiting for her to undress herself. Every night she had nothing apart from missing the only person she loved was never made to be with her for a lifetime. All she was left with, was a shattered dream. A shattered love which had went far. So far that it could never be seen. All she could do to stay alive for her child is to keep a curve on her lips and never let that fake happiness disappear. All she could do to stay alive just to see a glimpse of her love was to prove love for her husband who never possessed a heart in him. All she dreamt for was the love which she got from someone who possessed a heart in him just for her. Been years of marriage but still her loyalty never let her fall in love with a person known as ‘her husband' who never possessed a heart. Well people say that sometimes things stolen are never found. Her heart was one of that kind. Which was stolen long back by someone who possessed a heart in him.A right that husband had. To undress her without her wish.A right that husband had. To make a lady, a naked doll. Just for fun.A right that husband had. To call that lady as his, ‘WIFE'. A right that husband had. To make his wife stay in his arms. Naked. For a lifetime.Been years of marriage but still her love for him. The husband. Never existed.Just like a time machine. Which never existed.True love never dies even after ages.Love is just like air. When it comes in front of lust. It’s never visible.©The Gumnaam Writer©The Part Tym HubbyI Be Your Pen, You Be My Words.#smblogcontest
