What is Stoicism?Stoicism is an ancient Greek philosophy developed around 300 B.C. as a modification of Cynicism which teaches the development of self-control and courage by fighting destructive emotions. It is not just a set of beliefs but a way of life with practice and including the logic mostly. Soliloquy and a kind of meditation aimed at training one's attention to remain in the present moment is the main characteristic. No wonder it’s not more popular. No wonder the Stoic sage, in Western culture, has never obtained the popularity of the Zen master. Even though Stoicism is far more accessible, not only does it lack the exotic mystique of Eastern practice; it’s also regarded as a philosophy of merely breaking even while remaining determinedly impassive. What this attitude ignores is the promise proffered by Stoicism of lasting transcendence and imperturbable tranquility. It ignores gratitude, too. This is part of the tranquility, because it’s what makes the tranquility possible. Stoicism is, as much as anything, a philosophy of gratitude – and a gratitude, moreover, rugged enough to endure anything.About the book:The title of the book ' A Stoic's Diary ' is very attention capturing and new. The book cover is very subtle and doesn't talk much about the book. The art of Stoicism is briefly yet illustratively and practically is explained in the book. The concept of mind maps and looking at a problem in different dimensions is observed as the main concept in the book. Self awareness, self help, will power and perseverance are explained in a beautiful manner. One of its kind of a book in the field of Stoicism. Kudos to the author.

Such tumors can dwell in the digestive organs, intestines, where they are the most well-known, in the lungs, pancreas and if not treated for long, depending on the speed of the immune system of the body, can intense to the whole body. A malignant tumor is dangerous, which means it can develop and spread to different parts of the body in the event that it isn't discovered early. A benign tumor implies the tumor can develop however won't spread. An amiable tumor more often than not can be expelled without it causing much trouble to the patient. On similar lines, a neuroendocrine tumor starts in the hormone-creating cells of the body's neuroendocrine framework, which is comprised of cells that are a blend of hormone-delivering endocrine cells and nerve cells. Life sometimes comes with many surprises and unknowing of what is coming our way, we become benign to our health conditions. StoryMirror interviewed Aislin Fall, a 25 years old maker of things. Writer. Photographer. Poet. Compulsive traveller. Joy Seeker. Knowledge sponge. PNW born and bred. Here is what she has to say.Q. Tell us about you and your background.I guess I was born and then a lot of things happened and I ended up where I am now.I'm from British Columbia, Canada. I was 16 when I started taking photographs using my dad's camera. I was really obsessed with fashion photography for a long time and was always making my friends crawl into bushes and peer from behind blooming branches and once, I made my best friend carry a small wooden giraffe around her neighbourhood. Eventually, I started photographing models in the suburbs and beautiful landscapes wearing lots of different clothes. Eventually, I stopped photographing models anywhere. These past few years, I've become more drawn to taking pictures that document life as I see it, which usually fits in the category of travel and portrait photography with a tinge of adventure and lifestyle. I still shoot fashion sometimes but it's not my main focus.Photoshop came before photography for me and by the time I picked up my first camera, I was already dabbling in graphic design and photomanipulation. I fell in love with retouching as I transitioned into fashion photography and I worked as a retoucher for a few years. I don't retouch professionally any longer. I like being outside more than I like being on a computer these days.Travel has been the dominant force in my life for the past four years, although I did travel a lot with my family while growing up. I am usually in a state of going somewhere. I haven't had a "home" for more than a few months in a long time.Q. What is your life's greatest passion? What inspires you? I think life itself is my greatest passion—life and all the things it encompasses. The swell and swoon and pull and press of existence. The miracle of existing at all. The hope is to be as fully present and here in this moment. It's strange how something so simple can be so hard sometimes! How easy to get lost in your head—to stop listening to footfall of passing strangers, trills of birds, pulse of water. So my greatest passion is life and from there, everything else flows. I have been a maker ever since I was little—drawing, writing, forming stories—and the process of creating is a huge passion of mine. Nowadays, it takes the shape of photography and poetry. I grew up travelling the west coast of North America with my family and in my 20s, I've spent a lot of time on the road in Canada, USA, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Travelling is definitely one of the other great loves of my life. But they are all so wound together. Photography, writing, travelling—they're all giant pieces of this life of mine. They're how I think and feel and experience. Life gives me inspiration and then I take that and make these things with it.Life inspires me, the world inspires me, relationships inspire me, art inspires me, emotions inspire me, light inspires me. Since I'm mostly photographing my life as I experience it, I just look for moments.Q. Take us through your work. I shoot people and places. I catch real moments and pull them through my perspective until they feel like me. I get my fingerprints on everything. I'm not one of those photographers who doesn't like to modify things (though if you are, that's fine). I see things as malleable. I love Photoshop. My work is me; my work is my life. It's the fleeting instant that I got my fingers around. It's a record of where I've been and what I've felt. The roads I've walked down, the people I've loved, the sunrises I've seen, the glimmers of light that took my breath away. It's travel or landscape or documentary or lifestyle or portrait or whatever.WhistlerUSATessTasmaniaTasmaniaSydneyScotlandPortoMaiteIrelandIrelandIrelandhowthhollandCanadaBeeAusAthensAthensQ. Can you share with us a 'behind-the-scene' memory of yours that has stood out the most? Back in October, at the beginning of this last backpacking trip in Europe, I went to the Acropolis in Athens for sunrise. I watched the twinkle of dawn wash over the ancient streets of the city and observed the quiet blue of night transform into brilliant, shining light. It was one of those times when you look around at your life and feel all the decisions that brought there to that specific, remarkable, precious point. A blink of overwhelming gratitude.During the day, Acropolis is a swarming beehive of human beings. There are so many people. But when the gates first open in the morning—right before the sun rises, it's nearly empty. There were only two or three other people there when I watched the dawn awaken the city. It was so private and personal, witnessing the sun crest over the mountains, pull the shadows long and far over the ruins.Q. Is there an achievement or contribution that you are most proud of?I have been to 25 countries in 25 years, and while that's not a "career" oriented "achievement," it's a personal achievement. I'm immensely proud of this life that I've carved for myself. I have seen so much and it's truly shaped me.Q. What is your life's philosophy?Love and interconnectivity. Be kind and compassionate towards everything—other humans, animals, the planet, yourself. We are all so tied together. Our actions matter.Q. If you could give a message to all the 20 year olds of the world, what would it be?Be patient. Remember that you are not your emotions. Gratitude is the key. Emotions are passing clouds in the sky—they are things that you experience but they are not your identity so don't be consumed by them or think that they're your truth. Patience because all things take time and it's really hard to really know who you are or what you want at 20. It's important to give yourself room to grow and discover and make mistakes. I view the 20s as being a massive opportunity for learning. Training your mind to practice gratitude has the potential to change everything.Q. How do you want to see yourself 5 years from now?Happy and fulfilled, though that's the aim for every single day and not the destination. I'd like to be sustaining an income from my photography and writing, and still engaged in creative projects that excite me. I hope to have more of a "home" in five years but still travelling a lot with at least another ten new countries checked off my list!Check out her website, blog and instagram.

How often do we say thank you and really mean it?To God, to people who serve us or to mother nature...How often do we thank God for the eyes we open in the morning? For there are many who couldn't see the brightness of the sun today. How often do we thank God for the air we breathe? For there are many, who are putting a lot of efforts to breathe and there are many again, who just took their last breath. How often do we thank God for the people around us? For there are many who are alone and fighting depression. How often do we thank God for the home we live in? For there are many who have no roof. How often do we thank God for our job? For there are many educated unemployed. How often do we thank our maids, our help and other service providers? For there are many who are in dire need of help but have to manage all by themselves. We are busy complaining and comparing and forgoing happiness ourselves.Today it has been scientifically proven that expressing gratitude makes you a happier person. With this follows my third story "Faith" which was published in Dreamz Anthology last year. Although a fiction, it has been inspired by real life events.FaithAfter collecting their bags, Rishabh and Daman went to hire a taxi while Tania and Disha waited near the exit with luggage by their side. When the boys were approaching their girls, Rishabh could effortlessly notice the contrasting personalities of the two females standing a few steps away.Rishabh and Tania had been together since their first year while Disha and Daman, already in a relationship, had met the duo during their internship. Their night duties and a zest for clubs and night life had brought them together.Tania was soft, plump and fair skinned with hazel eyes, almost like the furry overcoat in her hands. With her chubby cheeks, dimply smile and a compassionate heart she had been the spirit of the hospital. Disha, on the other hand had a vivid sex appeal. She too, wore jegging with nude peep toes; her white translucent shirt with a tiny golden heart shaped pendant hanging just above the cleavage made her look sensual.Within an hour they were in their pre-booked private beach resort in Phuket. Tania had booked it after an intensive search for a quite beach resort within their budget for their weeklong holiday. The resort was truly a paradise for the couples. With their cottage doors and windows opening to the sea on one side and pool on the other, the couples were already thrilled.“The lunch is ready so please freshen up and join at the restaurant,” said the manager handing over the keys to their porter.“I really want to take out my clothes and swim,” said Disha, gaping at the Europeans enjoying in the pool bar.“Me too Honey! But let’s have our lunch first,” said Daman putting his arms around her waist while Disha’s eyes were on Rishabh who was looking around with Tania just a few steps ahead. The moment they stepped into the room, Tania kissed Rishabh, who was still brooding over Disha’s changing behavior. Rishabh also kissed her in reciprocation and then rushed to washroom.Tania took out her diary and started scribbling, with a gentle smile on her face.“What are you doing now? I guess we are on a vacation, right!” asked Rishabh, the moment he came out.“Ofcourse! We certainly are! You know, how much I have yearned for these holidays,” said Tania with a beam and got up with her diary folded in her right hand to kiss her beau.“This is my gratitude journal and before I forget, I want to write all those things, I am grateful for. I am just trying to remember the magic of the day till now”.“Magic!” Rishabh wondered.“Daddy’s permission for a trip with friends, riding an airplane which is a wonder in itself, a power nap refreshing me for the day, safe landing, a sunny day after cold foggy days of Delhi, a pre-nuptial honeymoon with the most handsome doc, a beautiful silent beach resort within our budget, an awesome cottage by the sea, all four of us together….in Phuket. I have already counted ten blessings, which are no less than magic for me,” said Tania with a smile and coiled to the writing desk behind to put down her diary.“Hmm! U know your attitude is what pulls me like a magnet to you. But everyone today, wants to have fun and so work on their goals to go for vacations,” said Rishabh.“Wrong! Not every girl is getting a permission from her parents, planes can crash any time, many can’t even see or experience the sun, there are many who can’t sleep properly where as I managed a great sleep in the plane, many love stories end up before they are born, many can’t afford even a budget resort forget the sea view or pool view,” said Tania asserting herself. “I am more grateful when I talk about it and you are also one of the manifestations for me.”Rishabh came from a small town of Uttarakhand and was living in a hostel. His extremely fair complexion behind the black beard and an athlete built up with ever shining inquisitive eyes had always made him stand out in the college group.Tania, on the other hand, had been a day-scholar. Her mom was very fond of Rishabh ever since Rishabh had saved Tania from an accident. Rishabh’s family was also under the magical spell of Tania although they met on rare occasions.Suddenly the phone bell rang.“Are you both ready?” asked Daman.“Oh yes! We will be out in a few more minutes,” replied Rishabh and kept the phone. While Tania changed, Rishabh found himself sandwiching between a nymph and a desirable seductress.Soon four of them were in the restaurant. They occupied a table near the portico with floral climbers till the square open roof tops. It was a breath taking view. The pool had umpteen Europeans swimming in it to tan their bodies. They were all basking under the sun and happy escaping the severe winters of their respective countries. At the brim of the pool were the sculptures of mermaids, painted in pink, blue and golden, pouring water into the pool from the pitchers in their hands. Just behind the pool, they could only see the huge serene and clear blue and green sea. The beach in between was not visible from the partly open restaurant. Tania and Daman were enjoying every bit of the picturesque scenery while Disha creeped her chair just opposite to Rishabh.Rishabh, now felt trapped almost like a monkey with its fist in the trap which can’t come out unless he releases the bananas or the nuts inside. Disha’s oomph factor, quite visible in her red strappy dress with blood red lipstick and penetrating eyes were, no doubt pulling him.Suddenly, Daman clenched his hand onto the table with his eyes still stuck to the vast sea and said, “Guys I am going to buy some vodka and wine and enjoy the evening here inside the pool. What say? No sightseeing, no clubbing. Let’s celebrate here for tonight.” All the three immediately agreed with a “wow” and so after the lunch, Daman went out for some liquor shopping while Tania ran and jumped into the hammock on the beach.“I don’t want to tan my body. I am going to my room guys!” said Disha while Rishabh’s eyes silently chased Disha although he chose to relax on the wooden recliners at close quarters with Tania.Tania was basking under the sun and enjoying the gentle touch of sea breeze. She was thankful for her dream of the sea on one side and Rishabh on the other. Soon, she was asleep. Rishabh was waiting for this; he suddenly got up and sneaked to Disha’s room.Disha was relaxing right there on the bay window. Her smooth, saucy legs turned Rishabh on. He didn’t want to waste the time. He jumped right from the window.“I was waiting for you,” she said in a husky voice into her ears while Rishabh hushed her and kissed. The moment he was to open the zip of her dress, the door bell rang. Rishabh stealthily jumped out of the window. Can’t believe it! You were waiting for me….curtains closed, much wavy locks, sensuous foot rub? What a beautiful kick! Incredible Phuket!” shouted Daman throwing his bag.“Oh you and your gratitude journal! Looks like we’re on your gratitude trip!” said Rishabh irritatingly, the moment he entered the room.“Look who is talking! I looked out for you on the beach and when I didn’t find you, I came back,” said Tania with a shock in her eyes. “By the way, I was thanking God for our beautiful future!”“Which has not even set in!” Rishabh said spitefully.“Why?” Tania gets surprised. “We are already in our honeymoon. What else do you need to start? Come here and sit,” she flipped her pages without enquiring further.“See just six months back, I had thanked God for my dream trip to Thailand and to a private beach resort in Phuket. Isn’t it a dream come true?” she showed her diary to Rishabh with date.Rishabh read her journal and couldn’t believe his eyes. Tania was right and then she showed her a few of her dreams manifested in the past one year, her mother’s health, her brother’s dream job and her results.“Believe me! God has abundance for all of us. You just need to have faith,” said Tania with a smile.Rishabh gazed at her in awe. He was certainly learning more about Tania, huddled over her dairy, in her denim shorts, red puff sleeved top and long straight tresses, she was definitely a fusion. Her thoughts on couple’s compatibility before marriage appeared strange in front of her deep faith like a good old granny.“Her aura always touches my soul. How can I ignore such a beautiful personality, inside out?” said Rishabh to himself. In the evening four of them sat together in the pool bar and enjoyed the cocktails, mock tails, pizza and swimming too. Rishabh tried to ignore the seductress in the string bikini, revealing her petite body.“Daman my back is burning. Can you please check?” said Disha with her eyes again on Rishabh.“There’s nothing honey. Let me rub some ice,” replied Daman and picked an ice cube to rub at her smooth dripping bony back. “You are tantalizing me!” he said in a low voice.“Let me enjoy the weather,” said Tania and swam towards the other end of the pool which meandered till the corner of the vast resort. Rishabh followed Tania. After the Christmas and New Year bash filled with music, dance, drum, wine, beer, fun, food and frolic they were all ready to leave Phuket. Rishabh still ….a pendulum.Their return tickets were booked from Bangkok. The taxi was booked and they happily bid Phuket a goodbye. As they drove their way, the darkness slowly covered the blue and orange sky and the stars slowly took over their positions, the four travelers were enjoying the music.Onthe Phuket- Bangkok Highway near Suratthani, the driver requested them to put some holy chants in his broken english.“Why?” asked Tania.“Madaame, this is accident zone and pirits….you know gosts…. stop caar causing accidents. I am Buddhist, I want to put …chanting,” replied the cab driver.“Are you mad!” giggled Rishabh“Don’t make fun!” said Tania pinching his arm.“Let the music run. We are doctors and don’t believe in ghosts,” said Rishabh reproachfully.“I don’t understand why do you like this metal?” saidTania in a teasing tone. “Let him put chanting for some time.”The moment Rishabh turned to reply; the taxi took a blind turn in order to save a creature crossing over and toppled upside down.Unable to open the doors and windows, they all shouted but in vain. The breathlessness suddenly increased. The three doctors tried their best while Tania prayed for help and imagined that help had arrived, thanking God for the same, repeatedly deep inside her heart.Driver and Disha had already fainted. Daman and Rishabh had also started losing hope when two men on a bike crossed the overturned car. They stopped and drooped to peep inside.Tania gesticulated forrescue.None of them could believe that they had survived a fatal accident. They thanked the good Samaritans who left almost like a bubble. While Tania and Rishabh brought Disha and driver back to their senses, Daman checked the car. The magic was still in the air or the angelic touch, the car turned on.Daman drove the car now with driver by his side; Rishabh took his window seat with Tania by her side. But this time, holding each other’s hand firmly with faith multiplied. The near death experience had turned everyone grateful for their magical retrieval.“Thank You Tania!” Rishabh mumbled in the ears of his lady of faith and felt fleshed out with love and faith.
I have lost him, however, on the other hand, he has made us feel proud
Appreciation can change a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.—Margaret CousinsGratitude is the word which come by your heart when you feel gratitude towards other.Yesterday on teacher's day I try to give my gratitude to the people who gave some impact in my life.I mean to the people I am really grateful what I learn from them.So when I reach home I message to the people I feel to gave gratitude on that.Although it's very embrassing and little awkward to send the message because sometimes you never think what the other people think toward your gratitude. Are they might chuckled for my message. Lot of things came through my mind through out the day but at the end of the day I get some courage and send the message. And response toward gave my gratitude was wow.So my point toward this answer is that.If you feel to say something never concealed yours through in your heart. It's better to speak the words which are confined in your heart. It's really make people valuable.Sometimes given gratitude is not just show-off but it's really meant to be.Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.
This is a common personal feeling what I am about to share about Ocean.I mostly like to stay near Ocean,I just want to see it and watch over it for eternity. When people visit any seashore ,most of them want to bathe in it,swim against those big waves ,and always preserve the thrill to cross the ocean through the waves. But I find some corner ,some grey rocks to sit,I find it like a living creature breathing in its waves, which is very regular sounds like heartbeats to me.I wish to talk to it if it could and always feel bad when I leave it,because I cant hear those waves anymore .So here I am talking about Personification or imagining a non living things as living being.I believe that if we try to personify every object we use then we can feel more significances and values of objects, and their usefulness in our life. And people do that but only with those which they own by themselves, but we need to show the same attitude with those we don't own.Like you buy a car,or a house,or a phone which you can say that it's yours personal and you care for it because you own it but we should think the way these objects are serving us to feel better,to make our life more comfortable. If we ride in bus ,some of us use to make scratches over it,writing names over it,or make it colorless, but if we are using it everyday then why making it looks ugly, that vehicle is saving your time,it is serving you so you can have more seconds in life to count, helping you like a living being. Then why you show your carelessness on it ?The reason of our recklessness is simple ,its because of "mine" word that makes us differentiate what is ours and what's is not and we take everything for granted that's our mistake. The tragedy is we live in a world where we treat humans like our possessions, objects you think you own them then how can we treat objects as living being. It is just upto you how you want to see it and see wisely.
Why it's important to be an employee or doing any kind of job? You might get a simpler answer yet its wrong. The main purpose of doing job is not earning money and providing security to family, its about cooperation and fulfill needs of other human beings.Thousands of years before this idea was implemented that everyone has to work because without it humankind won't exist.People made different groups that time based on their particular skills, some of them became potters, carpenters, barbers, hunters and many more.According to basic needs jobs were segregated and the purpose is still the same ,but we don't see that way. Nowadays Money is the most important thing than anything. But what if everyone in this world becomes Rich suddenly and decide not to do any work, will this world exist? It wont.So if you are lazy then be sure you are a threat to existence, not only yours but others. From this perspective every job should be valued and be respectful for their contributions. We made a system where we judge people according to their earnings and the complexity of their jobs But money is nothing but a medium,we need to think about how important their role is,fulfilling needs of our life. Some ultramodern people say things change with time and I am talking like an old man.But The purpose is never changed because we need to question the creation to find the true purpose of existence and if you find it ,it will always be same even after thousand years more. its unaffected by the ravages of time .Things just change their presentation through time and we make new definitions on basis of their effects instead of their cause.which is very untrue.I believe We don't need any great idea from a great thinker to change the world,we just need to see from different angles, gradually small small changes will start ripples of improvements accros the society and will make bigger revolution later like the butterfly effect. We need to be thankfull and show gratitude in everything we do and need efforts from everyone to make better world, but very unfortunately this is impossible to happen.
The new year is all around and everyone is busy filling his or her journals and brainstorming with his or her goals and resolutions. There are infinite dimensions in which you can think about life and there are myriads of aspects in which you can define your goals and achievements. This 2019, I want to share a story that my grandmother has once read to me (a bit inclined to self-care goal). The story begins ...Once upon a time, there used to exist a village where people were not having access to the mirror. So, everyone can see other person but they don't exactly know how they themselves look?. Besides this, they were so much happy with their life that they never inquired about their appearance. There was a common assumption that we all are from the same species so we all are some versions of each other. There was a mutual understanding between self-ego and social ego.One dark night, a monk was crossing the village. Because of pitch dark night, he was not able to identify the hurdles in his path and after walking a while he felt some pricking pain in his foot. He understood that it might be some thorns, but to his bad omen, his foot started bleeding badly. Holding his foot with hands, he sat down under a tree as the pain was unbearable. After a while, he saw someone approaching him but as per the silhouette, it was a woman wearing all black robe from top to bottom. She had a first aid box in her hands. She sat down beside him and started dressing his wounds. The monk started observing her as if he wanted to know who is she? She had covered her whole body and face with black cloth except her eyes. He saw her eyes, it was magical full of positive energy and good vibes. But, the monk could see some scars in her eyes, some hidden scars. She did the dressing with full dedication and devotion, her work was full of compassion. The monk paid his gratitude for the service and blessed her with prosperity and happiness. Just out of curiosity he asked her-"Why have your covered yourself in a black robe from top to bottom?"She said - "Because I am ugly?"Monk - "How do you know? Who told you?"She - "Because I saw myself in the mirror."Monk - "But I have heard that people of this village don't have access to the mirror and that's the mystery which bridges their self-ego to the social ego. In fact, I have heard that the shadow of inferiority complex has not curbed anyone in this village."She - "Yes! that is true. We respect each other and we believe that all of us are equally beautiful. But one day when I went to another village, I couldn't resist myself from looking in the mirror. And then I discovered how ugly am I."After hearing this, the monk smiled and told her - " Please meet me tomorrow at the nearby sea bank. I have to give you some rewards for your help."The next day, she went to the sea bank, again in the same black robe. She could easily identify the monk sitting at the bank, facing towards the sea. As she walked near, the monk asked her to sit down beside him. Both of them sat for a moment in silence, just facing towards the sea and watching waves. When she couldn't suppress her inquisitiveness more, she asked him -"Why did you call me here?"Without answering her question, he asked her - "How do you define beauty?"She answered - "Something that soothes our eyes. Something that looks attractive and can grab our attention.""Okay! Could you see the waves in the sea?"She thought what rubbish is he talking, the waves are quite obvious in the sea.She answered - "Yes"Monk - "What all kinds of waves are there in the sea?"She - "Different kinds with different forms, some are small and some are big. some big waves are eating up the small waves to become bigger."Monk - "Aren't these beautiful waves soothing your eyes?"She - "Yes true! It is very calm and it looks beautiful. Even the sound of waves is soothing to my ears."Monk - "Yeah you are right. But what happens on the day of high tides?"She - "Waves become stronger and scary. Some time they flood the nearby area of our village."Monk - "Ohh! that is a bit scary and not good."She - "Not exactly bad. These waves carry good fertile soil which they leave for us."Monk -"Okays that's good! Now tell me what are these waves made up of?"She - "Water"Monk - "True. Waves are just patterns made up of water. These patterns keep on changing with time. Sometimes they are beautiful and sometimes they are scary. Change is the eternal law of nature, the law of impermanence. This law is applicable to our life too. Our body, our senses, everything keeps on changing with time. And this change in itself is their beauty. You cannot define something beautiful which keeps on changing or which is not permanent. I believe that the water is beautiful and hence its all formation or patterns including big and small waves are actually beautiful. You have to broaden your vision before classifying anything on the basis of their temporary appearance. Beauty is the quality that remains forever like the beauty of water. If you keep on looking yourself every single day then you will identify the change in your appearance and with time you will fall in love with this change. Appearance varies with time but there are certain qualities which remain with us forever and those are the qualities which define the beauty of each one of us. Observe yourself and you will find out how blessed and beautiful you are. Accept it, you are the most beautiful and unique person."The monk left and she sat there as it is. This huge revelation was hard to handle and she got completely numb. And the story ends...I believe its true! each one of us is equally beautiful and unique. And this year promise me, that you will celebrate your uniqueness and beauty.
Makati is the city that is known for it's coffee pubs, cultural glory and equal set up by the way it responds to the cultural nights and that is what we had been hoping for when in the early evening as a musical band we prepared ourselves for the Musical gig. Generally uptil now people had come to know what the 'The lightboom band' does and we were up for the challenge as we also had to perform up to the task with experts coming to analyse and thence a poetry night was also planned later after the musical performances which had to be kept in mind while performing on stage. In such basic conception what was the major concern that we should keep ourselves up to the time limit set as when the fb event was created we had expressed ourselves very clearly for what time introductions, musical night and poetry sessions would go on and we had to keep ourselves into that time frame to set up all core meetings with hussle and bussle happening with more people coming to the event and making it a cracker. When we started the show though we were very great to see the early impression and thence having certain time limit on hand with all the musical systems getting set the night was going to be a cracker with every musical person of the team responded with loud cheers, jeers and delight and thence we took the advantage and launched on to make it a cracker by all means. First the introduction of the people from the academic group proceeded in which the 8 faces from India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia were included who introduced themselves gracefully and explained their cause. Once that was settled, the multigenre writers including me went to the stage and raising our hands into the stands we introduced ourselves and the genre for which we had been here which was phenomenal in all respects. However there was a small hiccop and the old poetry friend Nick sir felt deranged himself deciding later to quit from our co-author project thus the poetry book titled 'Winner's love' has to be disposed of and now it shall be my own responsibility to write a book by my own commitment separately titled 'Culture of World ward 2' by myself which I announced on stage and it was equally congratuated with loud cheers. Besides the third introduction had certain great writers from England and they had come to review the event thence they introduced their cause to the night where it was also met with great cheers. After that a short evening supper time was announced and all who have gathered hardly felt eating themselves into the great cultural night thus in the food gathering it was now all settled for the musical night that was approaching on all fours now. After the supper was over, everybody was curious enough and all the people that had come went back to their seats now waiting for the musical night to come and let the Indian music rock into the stage that was set for our singers to perform and make the most of it by their musical voices. As planned before there were exactly four musical songs written and composed by ourselvss that had to be performed with the introduction of the team so that went great with complete agreement. First the musical instruments launched to the musical gears and thence the singers took on making the most of it which was great in all respects. The momentum they had required was on and hence with huge cheers, loud night voices and gearing move the musical team has impressed all which was the need of the hour and it went fantastic in all respects. Finally after the musical night it was getting late and time was running out thus without any hesitation the Poets were asked to come on stage and Nick sir was also invited amongst all of them for his self-poetry book 'Winner's love' now who's poetic lines he would be reading for which from inside he was pleased no dout though he was still confused with all the performances of Indians going around with Hindi on it's top gears. In the poetry session around 8 poets recited their poems on basis of the alphabetical order and it all went great with the people smiling around, the crowd was thinning but still interested and it was a cracker. On my part I got the chance to read poems of 'Asian Winds' and I did it with great joy feeling elated to get such a great response. Ultimately it was time for closing and for that honorary owners of the Corner Tree Cafe went to the stage and by their gratitude, thank you note and our acknowledgements to them the night was almost over with all went well. We are extremely thankful to our parents, family, and all who have trusted and supported our judgement in this musical cause which was great to see and the smiles are great on those faces who have been faithful to continue backing us on. However for those who not trust or get confuse now also I have said it countless times that for me 'Community first' approach is the key and if they don't believe it no matter what be the situations then they dont count for us and in our community approach only those things matter that are trusted on us. Finally I am highly obliged to the Corner Tree Cafe, their owners and they have agreed also to host a charity event next day for local Disability circle that is pleasing, Thus it is great to see you all contributing with such enthusiasm and we shal be happy to you for yor great support. For now it's goodbye Makati, thank you all for your love and turning up in such huge numbers, it was a great experience by all accounts...

Making sure to have a memory to cherish, Traveling to Mumbai was the first motion of the move and Mr. Pant with his musical team of 12 members including him took a flight on 19th night after a cracking live performance in Delhi to move for the bigger moment coming to look for.During the process they discussed what may be the major moment and also made sure while they were traveling that what they have planned must come to the right fruition. True they wil have to face the 'power monger' thinkers later once the event was over questioning it's validity but for them only one thing matter and that is 'community first' approach which they focus. And Mr. Pant agreed with the whole team for the same attitude till the musical night was to happen greatly in it's actual core to maintain it in right way. Once they reached Mumbai in early morning, they were greeted by some hospitable people who were assigned for the musical event and they took them to the hotel arranged for the whole team with instruments loaded in a different loading taxy to the same location that cherished Mr. pant' mood. Here they were told to wait first and once formal process was done, they were asked to have strong vegetarian breakfast which Mr. pant and his team accepted delightfully. After the breakfast was over some of team members went on to sleep, Few took out their instruments just to tune and Mr. pant went away for a while meeting with high level celebrities who will also be joining the musical night performing for their own cause and after a quick word with the managing team of the area where the Musical night was to take place he came back assuring the hotel bills to be cleared as well. Thus as a starting point it was great start to take on and he smiled with his team hoping it to be a great event at large. Though when the team in the early evening began their journey for the memorable moment of the night, they were surprised by the crowd that was gathering in the way for the centre stage towards the Mumbai central park and people had already started to come in huge numbers blocking the way of those honorary celebrities who were also going to perform which was a great sight to see and Mr. pant with team felt important for themselves as well listening the roar of the noise coming from the stage. As they reached the platform, the process has also started and the inauguration session had begun so the volunteers came quick by outside receiving the team and they were settled in chairs as senior as well as honorary musical names were receiving momentos for their presence when team reached so it was not too late though. The team found it easy to listen the voices expressing gratitude and enjoyed coffee and snacks while they were talking of the community response which was great in all respects. Once it was over, the lightboom band team was invited on stage to speak few words and they were also provided with momentos expressing gratitude for their community contribution that brought smile on Mr. pant's face and the event had taken toll now that is surely going to be a great one. It started with the prominent musical singers singing their songs showing their carisma with loud crowd behind them and BBC Music sponsers kept shining with their banner over the noise as it was great in all respect. After they have sung, they went out for their refreshments one by one, and the new rising voices from Musical community came in front singing their great's favourite performance which was nice. The bands continue to jingle in the 1st performance galore and also in the performances to support new voices and the atmosphere was now going to be a great one as The Lightboom band also get ready to all fours wishing to perform their best very soon. However things were not over till the band has performed and they were called one by one first to make sure crowd come behind and after once that has been accomplished all of the band members including Mr. Pant had taken their place looking to perform on stage after their great memory of Philippines back from February 2019. They had prepared 6 songs written by Mr. Pant and 2 were written by other band members to perform live and they were ready to go as sound became thrumbing on ears and they ignored what was happening around going completely rock on stage singing the songs with their instruments rightly tuned and experts on team playing great as well as singers of the team singing all the songs in great renditions. It was all on 'them like atmosphere now and the crowd sung few lines of every song they have heard and the senior people wached from back stage from musical industry smiling to the songs thus making it a great galore and complete delight. By such measure the performance went great with stability of classical nodes, equal drums on bang by the team drummist, great instrument display with both wind like Flute as well as string like Guitars on move, keyboard performance by the team player was great and brilliant support of the people gathered around was a great memory. It was something special for the whole team listening to BBC support from behind in musical field, smiling to the back up by some prominent names churrping as songs stopped and new ones were sung And ultimately it was a complete performance what Mr. pant had wanted on it's pervour. Thence at the end, after the lightboom band has performed they were asked to join into the dinner which they did and later on the BBC Asian Network and BBC Music paid them for the performance that made their day. By all accounts it was a memorable day for them to remember and hence as a memory it will stick closer to the team's heart for long by the way it all went with great success...
The beginning of the second day started normally with cool fashion with all prominent people greeting each other, officials welcoming writers of all 21 nations with smiles and handing on schedule of the day to take on, And it was going to be one more day of fun, galore and happy smiles all along. It kicked off with the Honorary directors, organisers and other people being honoured for their service, their short gratitude and explaination of the role they have handed in such time so well, and their wishes to all who have come to represent expecting that preservation of culture in writing shall go on which was agreed by all of us. Once that was done, the proceeding started and it was field adventure to come on where some local sites across Andree Pension, Castelel peles and other local areas were introduced and their impact was explained by the guiding experts while we were observing them that helped the early start to be a prominent one. In such exploration it was great to know the Historic medieval tradition of Romanesque pillars, the way people used to preserve Candle cultures in marvel stones, The way fountation measurement was applied for water management system by early modern Romanian ruling groups and We also came to know the way things were applied in historic fashion. Besides we got the oppurtunity to look after cultural pillars that stand tall inside Castelel Peles and we got the oppurtunity to touch the prime Royal Amblem, the cultural symbol of peace of arts, and we felt great to have it's experience as explained by the guides along side us. Once that was accomplished, we got back into our cabs, took the oppurtunity to reach cafeteria to have vegetarian lunch and it was time approaching now when things would become formal as well as People would have to go back. But the exploration was great in all respects while visiting such hot spots and touring them made it so special after observing such traditions in such great way. Once our outyard adventures have got over, We had lunch, and have been enjoying each other company Thence we decided to take a short experience note with journalists present about the trips in local areas and the writers/poets from all 21 countries took their positions on 6 different podiums inside explaining their experiences altogether. After the experiences and feedbacks were done, things started to get more formal and one more confrence was planned by the organisers but this time not in separate subsessions but in one whole group structure involving all and it took place on the second town hall integral place. Here we all as authors/poets gathered to discuss the future of creative writing and this confrence's main aim was to discuss that what may be the plans to protect the writing culture? How to save it for the next generations? And in what way right steps can be decided? It went all well for around 3 hours with participation, enthusiasm and great thought process of all the writers providing feedbacks for what can be done and how things can be affective and I listened out, argued with some and enjoyed it a lot for sure. And once it was over the final proceedings were on show coming very close now reminding me again of the past happiness of World poetry championship award receiving and I guess this time the process was going to be same one, though the Award ceremony has been much different than that with it's title which suits the best, and I now awaited hoping to have more great fond memories at large. it was time for the last proceeding now and It was as mentioned in above lines has to be the award ceremony where all writers, jury members, associates, guests and prominent names were settled according to their names, places and position waiting for their name calls and receive such prestigious honour. I was only told on the early momentum of 1st day that an award known as 'Best Asian community poet' award has been confirmed in relative to me and I held my breath waiting for the right time. In the beginning the most high ranked officials, organisers and deligates were first called to receive their honours one by one. Once they were over the members of Jury from Europe were called to receive their awards on basis of their literary ranks. Then the official leaders of certain countries were called upon to gain, oblige and receive such prominent awards on basis of their literary standards. And after that all honorary process was over, thence our numbers came by to get the honours done by receiving our prestigious awards on basis of our commendable performances in field of literature. We were seated according to the alphabetical order on basis of sir name and I seated myself behind Pane, Panoe and Panser waiting for my turn which was not far and meanwhile other honorary writers have started to get the awards I engaged myself holding Mango shake aloft as well as enjoying Veg muffin and once the name was called it was great to settle. I went to stage supported by a volunteer, received the honorary trophy, saved it in my bag, spoke for 5 minutes on transition of Technology for creative writing and didn't extend my hand for the prize money as I have discussed earlier with the award giving committee that the fund should go for the weakened Literary families of Balcan community. And a smile on my face I shook hands with the honour giving members, had some photo clicks with them and Ultimately it was over for me. But it was not all over yet, other remaining writers/poets were receiving their awards and My newly made friends continue to crack jokes while we enjoyed Mango shakes all along, thus once the last alphabet 'Z' was over Thence the award ceremony had come to the close. At the end of all such formalities, the key organisers came to the stage once more and presented their analyses of whole 2 days as the contributory moment of the Validictory function explaining how things went, where they wish to improve more, and how management went through with great support of all of us. Once that was done, night crackers went high into the sky, the memory has almost converged to a glorious one, And with smile all around us the 2 day European Poetry Championship award ceremony was over at large...
Patience Is Very Active - In Gita Verse 1.6 There are the mighty Yudhāmanyu, the very powerful Uttamaujā, the son of Subhadrā and the sons of Draupadī. All these warriors are great chariot fighters.Duryodhana was so impatience that in his anxiety to win the war, he was not knowing what he was speaking. He says that the very powerful Uttamaujā, the son of Subhadrā and the sons of Draupadī, it means his and his brothers sons are not worthy, not powerful. Even though Pandavas sons were taken care and brought up by others as they lost their empire in gambling, and were in exile. Whereas Kauravas themselves had brought up their children. By saying this he conveyed that he and his brothers had failed as parents in bring up their children. When we are in the grip of desire, anxiety and anger religions says don’t do anything in that moment of anger - wait.Haste is one of the greatest diseases of present day, because it has made many things impossible which could have happened with a little patience. On your part great patience is needed, and a trust that the whole existence is in support of all those who are trying to grow spiritually. It is not you who are trying to grow spiritually; it is the existence which through you, is trying to reach its pinnacle.Patience is very alert, patience is very active, patience is very expectant. If you are waiting for somebody — a friend is to call on you — you may be sitting just by the door, but you are very attentive, alert. Any noise on the road, any car passing by, and immediately you start looking: maybe your has friend come? The wind on your doors , and suddenly you are alert: maybe he has knocked…. Dead leaves in the garden moving hither and thither, and you come out of your home; maybe he has come…. Patience is as active as that. It is a waiting. It is not dull, it is very radiant. It is not unconscious; it is not like a stupor. It is like a flame burning bright. One waits. One can wait infinitely, but one waits, expectant, active, alert, watchful.People are in a hurry, and religion is such a tree that it needs patience. It needs infinite patience. It needs no-hurry. If you are in a hurry, you will miss what religion is. Religion is not somewhere in temple or as followers. Religion is where you are. In this moment. If you are in a hurry, if you are in haste, you will never know the taste of its existence.Impatience also shows that you are not trusting your dreams, you are not trusting your totality of longing. Patience simply means: I will wait, whatever time it takes for the spring to come — but I will not wait patiently; I will wait with a heart throbbing, desiring, waiting… each moment, day in, day out. Waiting for the ship is a very total action on your part — because the action is total, your trust is total. One cannot predict when it will come. Only one thing can be said emphatically that if you are impatient it will not come. The more impatient you are for it, the less is the possibility, and if you are patient, it is bound to come. The more patient you are, the closer it is. If your patience is absolute, then it can happen right this very moment. But everything depends on patience. Patience is prayer and patience is trust and patience is love.Pandavas patience had courage to hold the present moment and the given resources. It was active, alive, in gratitude. Even the soldier of their army were ready to be participant in the war. While Duryodhana’s impatience was dead - why dead - as his disrespectful action was not allowing anyone to take any action. Before the war could start he had already lost the war. As his whole army were dead through inaction before the war had even started. His army was not a participant in the war. To achieve our goal we need our supporting team to participate.Recollect the moment when we don’t allow ourselves or the people around us to use the available resources, the whole environment becomes tense. Suddenly we feel everything is dead.Patience is nothing but a fragrance of trust. The night is dark but one trusts that the dawn is coming. Each passing moment the day is coming closer and closer. Maybe the night is actually becoming darker. In fact it becomes darker before the dawn comes, so the actual may not be helpful to the possible. The actual may be saying, ‘What are you doing? What are you waiting for? The night is getting darker than ever before. The dawn must be going further away and the distance is growing greater. This is simple logic: the night is getting darker so the dawn cannot be very close. You are losing track! There is no point in waiting any more.Your mind is constant!y hijacking you from the present moment — either into the past or into the future, but it never allows you to be in the now, to be here. By infinite patience is meant that “I trust, I am not worried. I am not rushing for tomorrow. I will rest in this moment. I will allow this moment its totality. I will explore this moment with my totality.” Then immediately, within a split second something wells up within you, something overwhelms you: a kind of music, a kind of melody, a feeling of well-being, as if everything is as it should be, you are at home, nothing is needed, all is perfect. That feeling is bliss — that everything else as it is, is right; it is absolutely okay, it cannot be better. That feeling is bliss, but that feeling is possible only when you relax, are patient, unhurried. And that’s what meditation is all about. Spirituality is nothing but a style of life, of living moment to moment, without hankering for the future… just living the present so totally that the mind has no time, no space, to go anywhere else… so absorbed, so utterly involved, drunk, with the present.Bliss is something that comes to you from the beyond — not created by you but only received. One has to learn how to wait for it; one has to learn the art of waiting. Patience, infinite patience, is needed.
Change Is Blessing - In Gita Verse 1.7 But for your information, O best of the brāhmaṇas, let me tell you about the captains who are especially qualified to lead my military force.Duryodhana address Dronacharya his teacher and chief of his army, as brāhmaṇas, no respect has been shown towards him who is leading his army. The adjective which is used for him “best of the”, was expression of his anger. If he would have looked at the opposition side’s arrangement as information, he would have entered into his subjectivity, then there would be gratitude in his language.Gratitude is not formality. It is reflection of ourselves how we are looking into the objective world. If we look into the objective world we would dwell on what action is required by us, what resources we have to achieve our goal, how we can manage all our resources to enable us to move closer towards our goal. Our focus in not on the goal but on our present moment’s actions. If we focus on the resources and how to manage it and then take steps to act, you will find that gratitude will arise in you. It will not be a mere formality, but our way of life, being. Objective world gives us the information, pure information whether we can convert it for our good or stuck in it would totally depend on us. Duryodhana instead of taking the arrangements of Pandavas as information, he got stuck in it and could not go into his subjective world. Information and going into our subjective world immediately changes the objective world. As soon as we enter into our subjective world we become part of the universe. Our subjective world we may call it God or we may call it the supreme soul or whatsoever we may like. As Duryodhana was stuck in the objective world, he was anxious and afraid of losing the war etc. Universe registered this as Duryodhana wanted to lose the war.We live a compartmental life, wherein we feel that there is no connection between the objective and subjective world. But we forget that objective world is reflection of our subjective world. It reflects whether we are conscious of our subjective world or unconscious. We are judgemental about everything, we criticize everything, because we are not able to go into our subjectivity and are in a hurry to act. Why was Duryodhana was angry at Dronacharya, because he could not go into his subjectivity after looking at the arrangements of the opposite side, hence he was consumed with anger. Whenever we without going into our subjectivity want to act at that time we are in a hurry, angry, anxious, etc. This is an indication that we are unconscious of our subjectivity.Recollect any incidence in your life when your focus was on what you have and how to start your work to reach the goal - immediately you become calm. Is it not so? Also when you are anxious you become blind towards your resources or not? With minute awareness everything changes. We are afraid of change. If we become aware about our subjectivity immediately we realize that change is a Blessing, nothing to be afraid of.Misery arises because we don't allow ourselves to go into the subjectivity and change to happen. We cling to objectivity, we want things to be static.A man of awareness knows that life is constantly changing. Life is change, it is dynamic. Unless we learn to live our objective life with the awareness of our subjectivity, we cannot become part of change. We will be always divided. We will be in hurry, eagar, anxious etc. What is change - living into objective world and acting from subjective world. This is what our sages were saying to us live in the world but don’t allow the world to touch you, your objective life you need to lives from your subjectivity. Live like a lotus flower. There is only one thing permanent, and that is change. Except change, everything else changes. To live this type of life, to be part of this changing existence with all its seasons and moods, this constant flow that never stops for a single moment, is to be blissful. Then nobody can disturb your bliss. It is your hankering for objective world that creates troubles for you. If you want to live in a life with no change – you are asking the impossible.A man of awareness becomes courageous enough to be part of the changing phenomena. In that very acceptance is bliss. Then all is good. Then you are never frustrated. On the objective world we exist as many. Your personality is different from the personality of your neighbor. But your subjective world is not different. Your subjective world is the innermost center of all. When you reach your subjectivity, you reach to be one.The whole objective world is just the circumference. The center – you may call it God or you may call it the supreme soul or whatsoever you like – but when you reach your own subjective world, you have reached the innermost center of all. And there, all secrets are hidden, in that one. And there, all the mysteries can be revealed to you.You cannot know them beforehand. Until you enter the subjective temple of the one, mysteries will remain mysteries. You can create many theories about them and many philosophies but it is of no use, futile, meaningless. You can philosophise much, but nothing can be concluded. It has happened for ages. Centuries have passed and men have been philosophizing, creating thousands and thousands of philosophies, theories and systems with no result. You can create them, but it is mental. You don’t know. When your action comes from your subjectivity that action is divine. You are not divided. You become vehicle of universe. You allow the universe to act through your body.
Karma Without Enmity - In Gita Verse 1.11 All of you must now give full support to Grandfather Bhīṣma, as you stand at your respective strategic points of entrance into the phalanx of the army. This instruction is given by Duryodhana and not by Dronacharya his teacher and commander of army. It should be vice versa. The announcement must be delivered through Dronacharya his teacher and commander of army and not by Duryodhana. Whenever someone is given certain responsibility there is some protocol or decorum in the objective world and respect with honour from subjective world needs to be followed. He conveyed the message keeping Karma and Respect separate. You must Respect Grandfather Bhīṣma, but not at the cost of your Karma. When he says this he is clearly conveying that except for my will nothing is important. For Pandava they will respect but when they need to act against that person they will act not with enmity but with respect and love.Let’s go a little into the past of this incidence. Kaurava wanted to attack Matsya, as they came to know that Panvada had taken shelter there during their last year of exile. Bhīṣma with his army went there. At that time with Uttar, crown prince of Matsya, Arjuna went with all due respect for Grandfather Bhīṣma, and Teacher Dronacharya, he fought and won. When he needed to remove the scarf of Hastinapur’s army he did not remove Bhīṣma or Dronacharya’s scarf which was asked by Uttara Princess and his student. He did his Karma and did not cross the line of respect. On the other hand when the army went back to Hastinapur, Duryodhana demanded that Pandava must repeat their punishments. Everyone said that when they were exposed the one year of exile in disguise was completed. But he demanded that they must repeat the punishment again. Every time in the past also for him his will was most important than anything else.By giving direct instruction and bypassing the protocol and respect towards Dronacharya his teacher and commander of army, he conveyed that his will was important.Pandava were also following “Respect but do your Karma”. But the approach was different. While doing the Karma never bring Respect in, means, focus on your present moment assignment, even if that assignment is to fight against your elders, then fight but without any enmity. A very intangible line and difficult to follow.Respect man, love man. Respect his subjectivity, respect his differences. And that is possible only if you respect your subjectivity. That is possible only if you are grounded in your own being and you are fearless. As I had expressed in Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.8, unless you attune your will with God’s will, which is guided by your subjectivity, you will then be using the divine will for your Karma. That Karma will be done without enmity. That Karma is divine. In all the circumstances we always have choice to act from our subjectivity. For example someone is trying to abuse you. Immediately we come out with lot of reason and excuses for our ill feeling. But in that moment we have missed the opportunity to sharpen our intellect. Once you can see this reality - Immediately you can see that because we did not have patience, we miss the opportunity that the other person has given you opportunity to sharpen your intellect. If you could see this in that moment instead of ill feeling you would be grateful to that person for giving you an opportunity to be silent and sharpen your intellect. Have you seen many people when they are abused by other person they use their intellect without fail and convert whole abuse in their favour. If someone can do then why can't we? Whenever we are given any circumstances and if we act in their circumstances without involving ourselves into any kind of emotion or respect we can do our Karma Without Enmity. When we act without any enmity that time we are in gratitude towards Universe. Karma Without Enmity means Karma In Gratitude.
Trust Yourself - In Gita Verse 1.14 On the other side, both Lord Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna, stationed on a great chariot drawn by white horses, sounded their transcendental conch shells. In this verse of Gita says how the other side was representing themselves. They were totally aware of what is happening outside. But didn’t lose the connect with themselves. Once they heard Grandfather Bhīṣma blow his conch shell, they become more alert towards their position. Also they followed the decorum and discipline of their army. Krishna and Arjuna when they blew their conch shells, it had delivered the message of transcendental, means with the objective world they are also connected with their subjective world. They welcomed all the changes and according to that circumstances they could change their strategy. From their position, stationed on a great chariot drawn by white horses and blew from their conch shells they conveyed their alertness of objective world and subjective world. They have not declared their power of objective world but alertness of subjective world.A person of alertness knows that objective world is for their reference and subjective world is from where they need to act. When you act from your subjective world, you show your humbleness, gratitude, compassion for the objective world. You don’t reject objective world. You cooperate with the objective world, in great reverence. This act will create silence around them. One who is stuck in the objective world has no respect nor love for themselves. For them their will is more important than the divine will. Their actions will be arrogant and disrespectful towards objective world. They will represent their ability as power. They are in a hurry, excited, anxious, etc.In my blog, Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.8, I wrote how we have misinterpreted the real meaning of Jesus’ statement and preach a dangerous doctrine of not using the will. We need will but need to attune our will with God’s will, which is guided by your subjectivity, you are then using divine will. You become divine will.In the same circumstances a person with alertness and a person who is stuck in objective world will see the difference In our life as we have many times experienced that when we are alert, we are silent and the end result will open a new door for us. New opportunities for us. When we are stuck we cannot open the door of opportunity. Why? Our next assignment will be given to us by the universe only if we have aligned our will with divine will. This is opportunity, challenge. How we can align our will with universal will. Simple whatever act you are doing think what more needs to be done? Even if it is washing your hands, eating food, or any trivial act. If you are alone when you are having food eat each bite with awareness, while washing your hands feel the sensation of water on the hands and feel the sensation in the whole body. You will notice a very subtle enthusiasm in you.If you are with others having food at that time priority changes from awareness towards self to awareness towards others. Means here we need to participate. Means knowing what kind of food they like, what type of subject that they will be interested to discuss, create the environment in such a way that everyone at dining table will not only will have food but are also ready to interact, eating food with each other will become a memory of joy to carry with them. Our alertness towards objective and subjective world will make us humble. The man of humbleness is not an exhibitionist; he does not show a consciousness of his defects or shortcomings. A man of humbleness simply is no more; he exists without an ego, without a personality. And without a personality you cannot have shortcomings and you cannot have defects. These are possessions of the ego. That’s why ego feels a deep inferiority complex whenever it sees some defect, some shortcoming. They trust themselves. They are unpredictable as they will respond to each moment differently, with alertness. If this moment demands them to fight they will fight, if this moment demands them to express their compassion towards the other person, who has even tried to take your life they will show their compassion. Because for them divine will is most important. Like Mirabai, when she was asked to drink the poison she drank without any ill feeling. Then she left Mewar. When the same people went to search her and found her, requested her to come back to Mewar, she only said let me take permission from my lord Krishna. If he permits I will come. She entered the Dwarka Mandir, closed the door to seek permission and never returned back. She disappeared into God. Put is rightly God absorbed her.Whatsoever you do, do it with deep alertness; then even small things become sacred. Then cooking or cleaning become sacred; they become worship. It is not a question of what you are doing, the question is how you are doing it. You can clean the floor like a robot, a mechanical thing; you have to clean it, so you clean it. Then you miss something beautiful. Then you waste those moments in only cleaning the floor. Cleaning the floor could have been a great experience; you missed it. The floor is cleaned but something that could have happened within you has not happened. If you were aware, not only the floor but you would have felt a deep cleansing. Clean the floor with full awareness, luminous with awareness. Work or sit or walk, but one thing has to be a continuous thread: make more and more moments of your life luminous with awareness. Let the candle of awareness burn in each moment, in each act.
Rhythm Is Silence - In Gita Verse 1.19 The blowing of these different conch shells became uproarious. Vibrating both in the sky and on the earth, it shattered the hearts of the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra.Rhythmic Response of Pandava reached in whole existence. While Kauravas response was tumultuous in whole existence. In Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.13 it says that when Kaurava responded - After that, the conch shells, drums, bugles, trumpets and horns were all suddenly sounded, and the combined sound was tumultuous.Rhythm means - When you feel one with the trees and the birds. and the rivers and the rocks, and the ocean and the sand – watch. You will find that there are many rhythms of your breath, a great spectrum: from the most violent, ugly, miserable hell-type, to the most silent heaven-type.Then when you have discovered your rhythm, practice it; make it a part of your life. By and by it becomes unconscious; then you only breathe in that rhythm. With that rhythm your life will be a life of a yogi: you will not be angry, you will not feel so sexual, you will not feel so filled with hatred. Suddenly you will feel a transmutation happening to you.Rhythm is a message of silence in us. Tumultuous is a message of excitement and anxiety. As a team when Pandavas silence reached to sky and on the earth it shows their gratitude towards existence. In gratitude they said that we will focus on what we have to deliver is without enmity towards Kaurava and fight with them. We accept your assignment in gratitude.Whenever we hear music immediately we become silent. In the middle of all the objective world’s activity suddenly we feel silence, we feel life. This is very alive not dead but flow.Rhythmic message by Pandava and their team conveyed to Universe that we are ready without any resistance to deliver your assignment. For them it is not right or wrong, win or lose but only one thing how we can deliver our assignment which has been given by Universe. There is no possibility of any division between right and wrong on the highest level of universal consciousnesses, for the simple reason that there are no divisions at all. It is one. What is right and what is wrong?Awareness is right; unawareness is wrong. Don’t label actions as wrong and right. Don’t say violence is wrong. Sometimes violence can be right. Don’t say love is right. Sometimes love can be wrong. Love can be for a wrong person, love can be for a wrong purpose. Somebody loves his country. Now, this is wrong because nationalism is a curse. Somebody loves his religion. He can kill, he can murder, he can burn others’ temples. Neither is love always right nor is anger always wrong. Then what is right and what is wrong? Awareness is right. If you are angry with full awareness, even anger is right. And if you are loving with unawareness, even love is not right. So let the quality of awareness be there in every act that you do, in every thought that you think, in every dream that you dream. Let the quality of awareness enter into your being more and more. Become suffused with the quality of awareness. Then whatsoever you do is virtue. Then whatsoever you do is good. Then whatsoever you do is a blessing to you and to the world in which you live.Sound of conch shells which was so Rhythmic that the silence which was uproarious through it, shattered the hearts of the sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra.It’s natural. When you are excited for anything other person will not be shattered. Because they know it within no time they can uproot you, divert you. But when you are silent the other person will be shattered because it says that I am rooted in myself. The person who is rooted in themselves it is very difficult to uproot them and defeat them. For Kaurava this war was to win but this Uproar of silence so profound that they could hear that we will not be able to defeat Pandava.
Go Beyond - In Gita Verse 1.24 Sañjaya said: O descendant of Bharata, having thus been addressed by Arjuna, Lord Kṛṣṇa drew up the fine chariot in the midst of the armies of both parties. As Dhritarashtra wanted every minute report from Sanjaya, Sanjaya informs Dhritarashtra that as Arjuna had Krishna, Krishna drew the fine chariot in the midst of the armies of both the parties.Sanjaya said ‘fine chariot’ - definitely Arjuna’s chariot was very fine, besides the chariot, charioteer was Krishna himself. Everyone was on their chariot then why Arjuna’s chariot was specified as fine? It’s not about the chariot but who is the charioteer makes the difference. All of us have experienced when we are sitting in the car who is in the driving seat matters. With the driver the movement or gesture of the car will change. The body of the car will be same but the gesture will be different. People on the road will also know and accordingly walk.Same with us - everyone of us have similar body but from where the action comes, from mind or from our subjectivity. When action is from the mind it is very superficial and on the surface, through that body, the expression of anger, anxiety, sadness, violence will be expressed. When action is from subjectivity it has depth and on the surface, through the body the expression of silence, compassion, gratitude will be expressed. Why did Arjuna choose Krishna to be his charioteer? When Arjuna and Duryodhana, had both gone to meet Krishna before Kurukshetra, the former went in later, and seeing the latter at his head, he sat at Krishna’s feet. Krishna woke up and then gave them the choice of either his entire Narayani Sena, or he himself as charioteer on a condition, that he would neither fight nor hold any weapon. And he gave Arjuna, the chance to select first, who then chose Krishna as his charioteer. Duryodhan could not believe his fortune, he had wanted the Narayani Sena, and he got it on a platter, he felt Arjuna was plain foolish. Little did Duryodhana realize that while he got the physical powers, the mental and spiritual power was with Arjuna. There was a reason why Arjuna chose Krishna, he was the person who provided the intelligence, the guidance, and he knew the weakness of every warrior in the Kaurava camp. Also Arjuna was the best warrior in the Pandava side, Yudhistir while being the most wise among them, was not exactly a “great warrior”, who could take on Bhishma, Drona, Kripa, Karna, it was only Arjuna who was an equal match to them. Bheem was all brute force, and while that was needed, for physical and mace combat with the likes of Duryodhan and Dushasan, he could not have been effective in handling Bhishma or Karna. Now while Arjuna was the finest warrior ever, he also needed strategic advice, and that was where Krishna came in. Unlike physical combat, battle in archery needed quick reflexes, strategic thinking, planning, and this is where Krishna was an invaluable asset. As per Arjuna’s desire Krishna drew and parked the chariot exactly in the middle he conveyed Arjuna Be In the Middle. Don’t get shattered or stumble. If you can live your life in objective world with awareness then the fundamental, then all kinds of language and knowledge and all your daily activities as you respond to people and adapt to circumstances, through so many upsets and downfalls, whether joyous or angry, good or bad, favorable or adverse - these are all trivial matters, the branches. If you can be spontaneously aware and knowing as you are going along with circumstances, then there is neither lack nor excess. That is one of the most important experiences of Gautam Buddha. He says that if you are just in the middle of any two polar opposites - find exactly the middle, neither less nor excess - if you are exactly in the middle, you will go beyond. The middle is the beyond. If you go to the extreme, then you will start clinging to it; from the extreme you cannot go beyond. That was a great contribution to spiritual science and to humanity, that the middle is the beyond. Just keep yourself balanced in the middle, and suddenly you will see you have gone above both the extremes - neither good nor bad, neither ordinary nor extraordinary, neither knowledgeable nor ignorant. This beyondness is his nirvana. Just to think about it you will feel an immense peace. Just visualize it and you will feel a great silence descending on you. And this is only visualization - what will happen in actuality if you come to the middle? You cannot conceive the ecstasy of it, the blissfulness of it, the benediction of it.By placing the chariot in the middle Krishna hinted Arjuna to go beyond.
This glory is something that we have been wanting from long time not because we haven't won it and we wish to but also because we were in such mood that United Kingdom can be a lucky charm for us and there we can perform our best and make the country proud. In this way when our meetings started to kick on back in Early may 2019 it was up for us to make challenges bigger, make sure that we do tick those boxes which weren't address in absence or presence of certain players and make the mark. Thereby after returning to complete health with short niggles and listening out the lacking pinpoints to track after our performances in Pan American quiz tournament in my absence It was up for me and the coach sir to once again set the tone and make sure we set right standards from the beginning. At least we were up for the basic plans in the meetings held before the tournament and I believe that from there on the trust to do well and make sure that we come on top has started to become sure not only for a proper settlement but for a better future vision in it's ultimate approach and I am glad in past the way things shaped and the team continued to work hard in the practice sessions before the quiz tournament indeed. In the early stages we found ourselves with great atmosphere in Trinity college, London with great support of we the Indians and we would like to express our grattitude here going further as a team response and I felt that the entire team started to blend in with such environment and the hunger to perform big started to grow. In the both 2 braille rounds we did well and though we were not at the top we were still around in top four which was pleasing and we knew that as the bigger matches come by our pressure game should develop more and it was a great start with team contributing regularly not depending only on the captain or vice captain for the impact and all joining the cultural galore. Further in the both typing rounds we burst through and at the end of it finished on the top with great score at the end of it which was more delightful and we have started to recognise that bigger moments can be ours if we play well and impress each other for great momentum that is essential to go through for knock out stages. Yet we also had fun moments from beginning to keep the tone of the inside rooms that counted our early trip to entire London before the tournament started and our happy trip to the London zoo after the league stages closed and altogether it was great fun to have around and make sure that happy moments continue to inspire before the performance to come in pressure situation with promissing results on show. Once the knock out stage were in front of us there was a serious plan that we have to apply with the other teams who have come by and they were all top teams for which accurate speed, right decision making and equal judgement skills were essential for which we have a short meeting before our 1st match against Greece who's victory should certainly lead us to the semi finals. In the Quarters we made sure to understand Where Greece has their weaknesses, applied our speed to right perfection and the biggest joy for me was the role of the central order and the vice captain who all came to their fours and performed well ultimately helping us to the next stage with tremendous roar of support from crowd and great delight of the team. However we hhad cleared the quarters, the next knock out was going to be more tough and when we came to realise that Switzerland had surprised Sweedon we were not shockd and knew they are great side and have to perform well against them thus when we faced them we focused on early start, struck down speed of burst on buzzles and hence in the third round found their pressure zones with they doing some mistakes of wrong answers that ultimately helped us and by that we had bounced to our first finals in the legendary tournament like European Quiz championship. The morale to support back home was phenomenal, we had a quick chat with honorary leaders of our comunity on phone to appreciate and they spread their wishes, social media greatly applauded but also wished us goodluck and now it was only 1 step away the memory we want to save in our heart forever if we are able to champion the finals against the very strong hoste England and become the champions. Yet when the finals came it was something assuring to see the way team was ready for it and I have called Tanishka, a Quiz player of Maharashtra, in case if my heart not respond well and I might not be fit to play, But the team requested and after some pulling of legs amongst mates for laughter things has started to shape well and after some quick sessions of talks with coffee amongst us we got ready for the place travelling again in the same cab with great support of Allen the cab driver and continued to chat the plans we have made against the home team in this big final. We knew that the support would be phenomenal for both teams and Brian Higgs who is the captain of English Visually impaired team told us that we were getting great response which was understandable and I was happy to see the way things were going till the match had to begin. Once we went in, the formal process started where this time there were 4 rounds each of 1 hour with each having two phases of 30 minutes with 10 questions each and like all the knock out rounds the team that would score the best at the end of the 4 rounds shall be declared the champions and it was going to be a real cracking evening. The patterns once again repeated itself with both team's players names were announced with their coach, both teams' captains speaking to the crowd greeting and introducing, and the umpire also introducing himself, a good one from turkey, and it was surely going to be great fun for all of us and we couldn't wait for such moment anymore than our opponents and it was off with the bang of the whistler and buzzles started to zing from all sides. The first two rounds were very close no dout with both the team performing well but in the 1st hour we had taken lead from 200 to 150 and I think our plans were well, But England came back very strong taking the lead of 10 points in the 2nd hour with their score 170 to ours of 160 and we were not in panick mode but had realised that they were not going to give up easily and shall come to best moves when required. Though in the 3rd round we returned with more speed of accuracy and the central order once again fired with our lead going up to 200 to 150 again and I think that was the defining point, Though England had to perform great in the last hour they had started to do those pressure errors like Switzerland of Semi finals and we were able to close it down from 180 to 100 by them and we are very glad to announce on our social media places for those who are waiting for great news that we have managed to win. We defeated them by 750 to 570 after the conclusion of the all 4 rounds and once the announcement of our victory happened on stage mike the noise was deafening, we were all on our feet being 1st time champions of this historic Quiz tournament for the visually impaired and as a captain as wel as a quizzer i shall remember this memory for long and express my gratitude to all those who kept their faith in us and supported us both in England and also back Home, Thank you all. Further in process the presentation ceremony took place after gap of 1 hour and we were amongst the award winners but there were some rising faces and 1 player and his or her coach were nominated for 6 different awards each representing a certain continent as this is a huge tournament and it was a great gesture by the Royal Commonwealth committee and yet our vice captain was the performer of the tournament an I got the performer of the day which was happy to see and pleasing as a captain that I was able to contribute in the big match to bring the happy cause to right momentum. However we also got some local vegetarian food passes and I took the whole team to the party with some local media personal joining us, But again, I would rather here like to express my gratitude to parents and family, Indian Quiz Federation and the organisers of the tournament, our External Affair ministry and Tourism group in India, And all who are behind the scenes and made our success possible as a managing core. As a quizzer I am sure that even in the sighted field people in our country shall start to recognise it's value as a national sport and commercial quizzing can also continue, yet we have one happy moments and Quizzing as an academic sport has lot to go through in future in our country, Till more happy moments to come, Big thank you to all from the entire team, it's cheers from charlie...
Drop Expectations - In Gita Verse 1.42 By the evil deeds of those who destroy the family tradition and thus give rise to unwanted children, all kinds of community projects and family welfare activities are devastated.Arjuna is now seeing only the future and not this moment’s assignment.Don’t move ahead of yourself into the future because that is not possible to do. The future remains unknown; that is its beauty, that is its grandeur, glory. If it becomes known, it will be useless because then the whole excitement and the whole surprise will be lost.Don’t expect anything in the future. Don’t corrupt it, because then all your expectations, if fulfilled, will make you miserable. You will not be happy about it because it is your expectation and it is fulfilled. Happiness is possible only through surprise, happiness is possible only when something happens which you had never expected, when something takes you completely unawares. If your expectations are fulfilled a hundred percent, you will be living as if you are in the past, not in the future. You come home and you expected your wife to say something and she does and you expected your child to behave in a certain way and the child does. Just think, you will be constantly in boredom. Nothing will happen, everything will be just a repetition, as if you are seeing something which you have seen before, hearing something which you have heard before. You will continuously see that it is a repetition of something, and repetition can never be satisfying. The new, the novel, the original, is needed. So if your expectations are fulfilled you will remain completely unfulfilled. And if your expectations are not fulfilled then you feel frustrated. Then you feel constantly as if you propose and God goes on disposing, you feel that God is the enemy, you feel as if everybody is against you and everybody is working against you. Your expectations are never fulfilled, you feel frustrated.Just meditate upon your expectations: if they are fulfilled you will feel bored, if they are not fulfilled you will feel cheated, as if a conspiracy is going on against you, as if the whole existence is conspiring against you. You will feel exploited, you will feel rejected, you will not be able to feel at home. And the whole problem arises because you expect.Don’t go ahead into the future. Drop expectations.Once you drop expectations you have learned how to live. Then everything that happens fulfills you - whatsoever it is. For one thing, you never feel frustrated because in the first place you never expected, so frustration is impossible. Frustration is a shadow of expectation. With expectation dropped, frustration drops on its own accord. You cannot frustrate me, because I never expect anything. Whatsoever you do, I will say “Good.” I always say “Good,” except for only a few times when I say “Very good!”Once expectations are not there you are free - to move into the unknown and accept the unknown, whatsoever it brings, and to accept it with deep gratitude. Complaints disappear, grumbling disappears. Whatsoever the situation, you always feel accepted, at home. Nobody is against you; existence is not a conspiracy against you. It is your home.Read Arjuna’s words again and again from the time he became unconscious towards himself, he started expecting something from the universe. His words were having no life and enthusiasm in it. He was incapable of listening to universe. Instead of giving something back to universe he became demanding.Look at our prayers - they are demanding. Because of our demand we are feeling bored. All we are asking is to fulfil our expectations. When our expectations are fulfilled we feel boredom, through the boredom universe gives us the message that don’t expect. But we think that we are on the right track. Because of our thinking we ask more and get more bored. If your focus changes from receiving or expectations to giving, suddenly you will find that your prayer will change, our prayer will not be for demand but how to act, how to give more, what else we can do? When our focus is on giving means what I can do something more through the same act and you will find that you are becoming enthusiastic, boredom will drop. This is 24x7 prayer. You will become wacky-tacky temple.Similarly as Arjuna when he was conscious towards himself he chose Krishna against Narayani Sena, he did not get caught up in the greed. As soon as he become unconscious towards himself there was fear, sadness, guilt etc. The difference is only of consciousness and unconsciousness.
Fear - In Gita Verse 1.43 O Kṛṣṇa, maintainer of the people, I have heard by disciplic succession that those whose family traditions are destroyed dwell always in hell.Arjuna is now in the grip of fear. More so he is becoming unconscious towards himself.Did you find any similarity between unconscious Arjuna and us, our prayers are also out of fear and not in gratitude. All your fears are by-products of identification. The fear that things may change tomorrow.... Somebody may die, you may go bankrupt, your job may be taken away. There are a thousand and one things which may change. You are burdened with more and more fears, and none of them are valid...because yesterday too you were full of these fears, unnecessarily. Things may have changed but you are still alive. And man has an immense capacity to adjust himself in any situation. The fear is part of the mind. The mind is a coward, and has to be a coward because it doesn’t have any substance. It is empty and hollow, and it is afraid of everything. And basically it is afraid that one day you may become aware. That will be really the end of the world!Mind is a prison. Awareness is getting out of the prison – or realizing it has never been in the prison; it was just thinking that it was in the prison. All fears disappear. The greatest discovery in life, the most precious treasure, is of awareness. Without it you are bound to be in darkness, full of fears. And you will go on creating new fears; there is no end to it. You will live in fear, you will die in fear, and you will never be able to taste something of freedom. And it was all the time your potential; any moment you could have claimed it, but you never claimed it.It is your responsibility. In fear Arjuna identified with it. With this identification he become unaware of the fact that the universal assignment given to them not only would liberate them but his family also. Because of the fear he thought hell was certain for his family and him. He became assertive. To be identified with something which you are not, is the formation of the ego. Ego means to be identified with something you are not.Identity is the basis of all slavery: Be identified and you will be in a prison. The very identity will become your prison. Be non-identified, remain totally yourself, and then there is freedom. So this is what bondage is: Ego is the bondage, and egolessness is freedom. And this ego is nothing but to be identified with something that you are not. For example, everyone is identified with his name; and everyone is born without any name. Then the name becomes so significant that one can die for his name’s sake. This identification is ego. If you are not identified with anything – with name or with form or anything – then where is the ego? Then you are, and still you are not. Then you are in your absolute purity, but with no ego. That’s why Buddha called the self, no-self; he called it anatta, anatma. He said, “There is no ego, so you cannot call yourself atma even. You cannot call yourself ‘I’; there is no ‘I.’ There is pure existence.” This pure existence is freedom. When the mind is projecting something which is not, it is avidya. When this mind destroys all projections, all identifications, remains without any projective activity, then this method of destroying all projections, all that is not, but appears to be – is called vidya. Vidya is not knowledge; again, vidya is a positive force to destroy all that which avidya creates. Vidya is untranslatable. Vidya means a positive force in you which can destroy ego formation. Both are positive: avidya creates that which is not, and vidya destroys that which is not. So vidya means yoga, vidya mean the science of religion.Arjuna in fear was trembling and creating hell for himself and his family members. Same Arjuna when he heard Bhishma’s conch shell first took position and then replied. There was aliveness in him, there was trust in him. As soon as he became unconscious towards self, immediately he lost the life in his living body, he was dead. He created hell for him and his family.
Usually, I am the kind of person who is very much attached to his/her personalized room and don't feel comfortable in any other setup. And that is the reason why I avoid trips which requires me to stay in hotels or Airbnb. But, recently I discovered something new about me. In fact, just two weeks back, I, with my friends decided to visit Okinawa (a prefecture in Japan). Okinawa is considered as one of the blue zones in the world. We booked our flights, reserved resorts, packed some of our vegetarian food (some times it's difficult to get vegetarian food in Japan especially if you are not in Tokyo) and started our journey. As per the government norms, Wednesday is considered as no overtime day in Japan so that day, you get the privilege of leaving the office early. So we started our journey on Wednesday evening. Our itinerary was such that we could get enough time to relax instead of just touching every single tourist places. Generally, it is recommended to have a driving license and rent a car to roam around in Okinawa. But since none of us was having an international driving license so we prepared an itinerary to visit those places which can be reached by bus or ship. The best part of traveling in Japan is that you can rely on Google Maps. Okinawa is surrounded by ocean and located in the south, so the place is a bit humid and hot compared to Tokyo (you don't need to wear shrugs or jackets during the spring season).Day 1And the very first day itself weather wanted us to roam in blue and yellow raincoats as it was a kind of rainy day with a thunderstorm (very common in Japan). After getting ready and wearing the nice dress we had to put on raincoats...it was nature's order we can't help it.Okinawa world (Theme park)The moment I stepped into the cave, I was wonderstruck by the beauty of nature and effort of Japanese sculptors who would have carved down that cave. It recalled me of class 6th geography when we had studied about calcium deposits referred to as stalactites and stalagmites. At that time, I used to think that whether in my life will I be able to see these in real or not? And see, it happened! The cave was quite long and it was conveniently designed with proper lightings and pathways so that people can roam around and enjoy the beautiful formations. You can watch some hot springs also running on one side of the cave. I felt like I am in a palace which has been specially designed for tourism but no, all these structures were formed naturally. Nature is beyond our imagination. Just for your information, it takes 3 years for a stalactite to grow by 1 mm. Also, if you are a person who likes beer then you are most welcome in Okinawa to have a sip of "Habu" snake sake (beer) :P Snake sake as omiyage (souvenir)!Day 2We started from Naha in the early morning so as to reach Motobu before noon.Emerald Beach (in Motobu)Forenoon and the beautiful beach sounds an amazing combination no?! I don't have any word to explain the beauty of white sand and blue seawater, you can see it by yourself.Meeting the Japanese standard of cleanliness, the beach was extremely clean and beautiful with the spread of white sand underneath the blue seawater, shining like the bed of emerald in the sunlight. I felt that I could spend my days and nights just sitting beside the sea, enjoying the view and listening to the sound of waves hitting the shore (only if I get paid for doing so :P).Churaumi AquariumThis aquarium is considered to have the world's second-largest water tank. This was my second visit to any aquarium, so for me, it was amazing to see small colorful fishes, coral reefs and big fish like a whale shark. You can see a wide variety of aquatic animals here or in fact, you will discover some new aquatic animals which may not be known to you till the date..that is what happened with us.Also, there are some open areas where you can touch small fishes like starfish. You can feel the hard stone-like stiff body of starfish. And, if you are at the correct time then you may get an opportunity to watch the feeding show. Basically, you can see how they feed 55000 kg whale shark by the filter-feeding method. There were many shows but because of time constraints, we couldn't cover up all the shows. The last thing to watch that day was the Dolphin show. I feel that Dolphins are not just fish but they are the sweetest and cheerful creature among aquatic animals. If you are feeling tired or low just get a ticket to the nearby aquarium and watch the dancing Dolphins. Dolphins are like drama queen only, they will definitely cheer you up and seeing their dance and act, you will definitely burst into laughter.Day 3We had kept this day especially to cover up some of the famous beaches which were on the way from Motobu to Naha. Though because of the rain and thunderstorm, we skipped a few and preferred to stay inside the bus.Cape ManzanoAgain, the clean dark blue water hitting the rocks to carve out a beautiful structure. Till that day, I had seen blue water only in painted sceneries, which used to have no relation with real existence. The rock formation near the beach was looking like the head of an elephant. People over there were busy taking photos and selfies while I felt completely lost in paying gratitude to the Creator for such an amazing beautiful creation. I wanted to absorb everything ... the air ... the scenic beauty with blue water, greeneries and rocks all around ... and the mystic sound of waves ...everything was so pacifying to my soul. At that moment, I wanted to capture all those feelings, senses and emotions in my memory forever. After Cape Manzano, we roam around a few other beaches before taking our final bus to Naha. Thus the closing evening of the trip passed away. We reached Naha airport and took our flight back to Tokyo. Once again continuing life in between skyscrapers. My one-liner for Okinawa - Amazingly beautiful place to relax in the lap of nature! My learning - It is a foolish idea to judge something without exploring it because you never know what transformation can happen next. I discovered that I had a wrong perception about myself and I love long-duration trips. These trips give you the opportunity to create more memories to cherish upon and to daydream sitting in front of your computer at the office desk.Message - Steal a few days from your busy schedule, pack your bags and start your journey to explore yourself.
When I first started my journey back here on such a portal like Story Mirror at least more than 3 years ago in march 2016 it was like a dream come true but I never thought I may travel so far with support of some great people which is a heartening sight indeed.Since my joining here on the portal I have got support of some great personals including Palak ma'm in start, Pratishta madam and sapna madam as well as Devendra sir later on, little with Shivam bro and nice one from Rahul bro, and ultimately Neha ma'm as well as shreshta ma'm in recent times who has been phenomenal in approach and guiding on. We are all in the need of happiness....so where do find it?
About the attitude, wisdom and resilience parents must have
Tantra - In Gita Verse 2.58 One who is able to withdraw his senses from sense objects, as the tortoise draws its limbs within the shell, is firmly fixed in perfect consciousness.Read this verse again and again, what Krishna says clearly he is; go deep into the centre of the objective world and there will be perfect consciousness. Means only pool of energy. You need to pass through all the senses, but go into it in totality. Like Tantra - unless you become NON-SEXUAL, don’t have sex.Tantra is the natural way to God, the normal way to God. The object is to become so completely instinctual, so mindless that we merge with ultimate nature – that the woman disappears and becomes a door for the ultimate, the man disappears and becomes a door for the ultimate. This is the tantric definition of our sexuality: the return to absolute innocence, absolute oneness. The greatest sexual thrill of all is not a search for thrills, but a silent waiting – utterly relaxed, utterly mindless. One is conscious, conscious only of being conscious. One is consciousness. One is contented but there is no content to it. And then there is great beauty, great benediction. We always have a question: 'What is tantric sex…a sex which is a meditation based on certain techniques?'If you are too technique oriented you will miss the mystery of Tantra. It is pseudo-Tantra that is based on techniques because if techniques are there, ego will be there, controlling. Then you will be doing it – and doing is the problem, doing brings the doer. Tantra has to be a non-doing; it cannot be technical. You can learn techniques – you can learn a certain breathing so that coitus can become longer. If you breathe very, very slowly, if you breathe without any hurry, then coitus will become longer, but you are controlling. It will not be wild and it will not be innocent, and it will not be meditation either. It will be mind – how can it be meditation? The mind will be controlling. You cannot even breathe fast, you have to keep your breathing slow – if the breathing is slow then ejaculation will take a longer time, because for ejaculation to happen the breathing has to be fast and chaotic. Now, this is technique but not Tantra. Tantra is not technique but prayer. Is not head oriented but a relaxation into the heart. Please remember it. Many books have been written on Tantra, they all talk about technique but the real Tantra has nothing to do with technique. The real Tantra cannot be written about, the real Tantra has to be imbibed. How to imbibe real Tantra? You will have to transform your whole approach. Pray with your woman, sing with your woman, play with your woman, dance with your woman, with no idea of sex. Don't go on thinking, 'When are we going to bed?' Forget about it. Do something else and get lost into it. And someday love will arise out of that being lost, suddenly you will see that you are making love and you are not making it. It is happening, you are possessed by it. Then you have your first Tantra experience – possessed by something bigger than you. You were dancing or you were singing together or you were chanting together or you were praying together or meditating together, and suddenly you find you both have moved into a new space. And you don't know when you have started making love; you don't remember either. Then you are being possessed by Tantra energy. And then for the first time you will see a non-technical experience. This is one of our senses where we all are stuck there. If you can read this blog again and again and if you can transform your sexual energy into prayer then it will be very easy for you to transform all the senses into prayer. Then you will find all your act has become nothing but prayer and Gratitude towards universe. With all the senses go inside of you and you will find a pool of energy all of it is perfect consciousness, prayer. Go through all the senses, go inside of all the senses and your act will become prayerful. This is the key for living in the Objective World, from your Subjectivity. Unaffected by Objective World.
Austerity - In Gita Verse 2.61 One who restrains his senses, keeping them under full control, and fixes his consciousness upon Me, is known as a man of steady intelligence. When Krishna says restrains senses, he means, austerity, “Be simple, don’t cultivate it”...because cultivated simplicity is not simplicity. How can a cultivated simplicity be simple? It is very complex; you have been trying, calculating, cultivating. But Masochists have converted austerity into self-torture. They think that the more you torture the body, the more spiritual you become. Torturing the body is the way to become spiritual: this is the understanding of the masochist.Torturing the body is not a way; torturing is violent. Whether you torture others or yourself, it is violent; and violence can never be religious. What is the difference between torturing someone else’s body and torturing your own body? What is the difference? The body is “the other.” Even your own body is the other. Your body is a little closer and the other’s body is a little farther away, that’s all. Because yours is closer it is more likely to become a victim of your violence; you can torture it. And for thousands of years people have been torturing their bodies with the false notion that it is the way towards the divine. Austerity cannot be practiced. You simply have to look at life and see that the more complicated you become, the less sensitive you become. And the less sensitive you are, the farther away from existence you are. The more sensitive you become, then closer and closer and closer you come. A day comes when you are sensitive to the very roots of your being; suddenly you are no longer there, you are just a sensibility, a sensitivity. You are no longer there, you are just an awareness. Everything is beautiful then, everything is alive; nothing is dead. Everything is conscious; nothing is alive, nothing is dead. Everything is conscious, nothing is unconscious. With your sensitivity, the world changes. At the last moment, when the sensitivity reaches to its total, its ultimate climax, the world disappears; there is the divine. The divine is not to be found, really; sensitivity has to be found. Be sensitive totally that nothing is left behind, no holding back; and suddenly, the divine is there. It has always been there; it is just that you were not sensitive. For Krishna austerity is a simple life, a life of understanding. You need not move into a hut, you need not go naked. You can live simply in life, with understanding. Poverty will not help but understanding will. You can force poverty on yourself, you can become dirty, but that won’t help. Become more sensitive, become more austere. And when Krishna says become, Krishna doesn’t mean practice, Krishna means understand. Try to see that whenever you are simple, things go beautifully. Whenever you are complex, things become problematic; you create more puzzles to be solved and everything becomes entwined, a mess.Live a simple life of needs being fulfilled, with no mad desires. You need food, you need clothing, you need a shelter – finish. You need somebody to love; you need somebody to be loved by. Love, food, shelter – simple. What is the trouble with man? The trouble is that he thinks that for enjoyment certain conditions have to be fulfilled first; this is the trouble. To enjoy life in fact no conditions are to be fulfilled; it is an unconditional invitation. But man thinks that certain conditions have to be fulfilled first; only then can he enjoy life. This is the complex mind. The simple mind feels that one has to enjoy whatsoever is available. Enjoy it! No conditions are to be fulfilled. And the more you enjoy this moment, the more capable you become of enjoying the next. The capacity grows; the greater and greater it becomes, the higher and higher it goes – it is infinite. And when you come to the infinity of enjoyment, that is what God is. God is not a person sitting somewhere and waiting for you. By this time He will have got bored, waiting and waiting for you. He will have committed suicide if He had any sense...waiting for you. God is not a person. He is not a goal, He is a way of enjoying life right here and now. God is the attitude of being blissful for no reason at all. You are miserable for no reason at all; that is the complex mind. An austere man comes to know that happiness is the nature of life. You need not have any causes to be happy. You can simply be happy just because you are alive! Life is happiness, life is bliss; but this is possible only for an austere man. A man who accumulates things always thinks that because of these things he is going to be happy. Palaces, money, gadgets – he thinks that because of these things he is going to be happy. Riches are not the problem; the attitude of the man who tries to find riches is the problem. The attitude is: unless I have all these things, I cannot be happy. This man will always remain unhappy. An austere man comes to know that life is so simple that whatsoever he has, he can be happy. He need not postpone it for anything else. Austerity will mean then: come down to your needs. Desires are mad, needs are natural. Food, shelter, love; bring your whole life energy down just to the level of needs, and you will be happy. And a happy man cannot be other than religious; and an unhappy man cannot be other than irreligious. He may pray, he may go to the temple and the mosque; that doesn’t matter. How can an unhappy man pray? His prayer will have a deep complaint in it, a grudge. It will be a deep grump. Prayer is gratitude, not complaint. Be austere. Live with the necessary and forget about desires. They are fantasies in the mind, ripples in the lake. They only disturb you, they can never lead you to any contentment. Krishna is saying that act for your need with all your sensitivity, don’t restrain your sensitivity, become more sensitive and then act. Even if it is war be sensitive and fight the war. Then even the war will be Divine. If you can do that you become whole, united with God.
Give Up Desire - In Gita Verse 2.71 A person who has given up all desires for sense gratification, who lives free from desires, who has given up all sense of proprietorship and is devoid of false ego – he alone can attain real peace.Krishna says to Arjuna that we have to act what present moment demands from us but without our own desire. Unless we come from that space, universal space and then act, suddenly you will find that your act is not from desire but from silence of the universe.Buddha also act and we also act then what is the difference? Difference is Buddha surrender himself to the universe and we surrender ourselves to desire. Where we surrender makes total difference. Because Buddha don’t resist desire but with desire he surrender to the universe so he is not attached but in his act he is compassionate and silent. There is no hurry in him. He leaves to universe, whatever is end result he will receive it in gratitude.Let me explain to you through Buddha’s story:One day Buddha walked through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him.The man said: “You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake.”Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man:“Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?”The man was surprised and answered: “It would belong to me because I bought the gift.”The Buddha smiled and said “That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself.”If we are also in the same situation as Buddha was, we also need to answer. But while answering Buddha has no desire to transform the other person. If we were in the same situation we will have desire to transform other person. Why I took Buddha’s this incidence because we are passing every day such type of incidence where someone may not come to abuse us but to get any help or support. Now as soon as that person has approach us we are very eager to advise him, and we are doing this to fulfill our desire to be above or superior to others. All of us have read and heard this story many times but as our habit we have read and remembered the words only so we feel that when someone comes to take some help is not the same as Buddha’s life. In fact we are waiting for such incidence to satisfy our ego, and we will be imitating Buddha by not getting angry. As we are in desire to protect our identity. We are always looking for circumstances where we can prove our ego and identity. This is very subtle all the time desire for our identity and ego.“I” means identity. You cannot call yourself ‘I’; there is no ‘I.’ There is pure existence.” This pure existence is freedom.Just compare your life incidence with Buddha’s this story, if someone comes to you and how you act. This comparison is healthy, it will give you light so when someone comes to you for any help or support you will be self-alert and then without any expectation you will help them. Without expectation is first step towards to give up all desire from your act.Krishna tells Arjuna you have choice from where to act but you have to act. So better to act from your self-alertness, once you are self-alert you will be able to give up your desire and can act. In that you will find peace, silence.
It is flat out amazing just how potent our daily routines and lifestyle habits are in influencing mental wellness. While we might assume that mental health issues are the direct result of experiencing a traumatic event or chronic stress, in reality, it is our self-sabotaging habits that can spark symptoms of anxiety or depression. The mind-body connection is incredibly tight. When either one of these core aspects of our being are out of kilter a cascading litany of negative effects will impact the quality of our mental health. This means that our focus each day must center on ways to bolster each: our physical wellness and our mental health. We may not give a moment’s thought to our habit of falling asleep while scrolling through Instagram at the wee hours each night or of stubbornly resisting forgiving someone who has wronged us. These and other ordinary daily actions can become potholes to trip us up, preventing us from feeling our very best psychologically. Below are some common behaviors that may contribute to a less-than-ideal mental state.5 Mental Health Saboteurs Sleep deprivation. As enticing as Netflix binging is, by shortchanging our sleep hours we are unwittingly undermining our mental health. The circadian rhythm, or the sleep cycle, is hardwired into our biology. Mess with that and suffer the consequences, including a weaker immune system, depression, irritability, anxiety, heart problems, and more. According to an article published in Neurologic Clinics [Andrew Krystal, M.D], there is increasing acknowledged that sleep problems and mental health disorders involve “bi-directional causality.”While true that many mental health disorders include sleep disturbances as a prominent symptom in diagnostic criteria. According to a recent article by Harvard Medical School, a whopping 50%-80% of patients seeking psychiatric treatment have chronic sleep issues. Emerging clinical evidence is now shining a light on the causal nature of sleep issues on mental health. How do we improve our quality of sleep and boost our mental wellness?Establish a regular sleep schedule, an earlier bedtime has a positive effect on mental health. Aim for a minimum of 7 hours of sleep nightly.Shut down electronics for at least one hour before bedtime.Limit caffeine, avoid caffeinated beverages after 3pmAvoid exercise after 7pmPractice relaxation rituals before bed, such as taking a warm bath, meditating, writing in a journal, practicing gratitude, and sipping chamomile tea.Lack of exercise. Too many Americans lead a sedentary lifestyle. Couple that with a poor diet and it is no wonder that depression and anxiety rates are rising. The mind-body connection dictates that to reach a state of positive mental health, the body needs to move. Regular exercise is a key element for improving not only physical health but also for elevating mood and reducing anxiety.Clinical evidence of the connection between getting regular exercise and achieving optimum mental health is well documented. An article published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry sums up these findings nicely, explaining that physical exertion increases blood circulation to the brain, influencing the HPA-axis and the limbic system, affecting mood, reactivity to stress, memory, and motivation.Activities that will help boost mental health include:WalkingRunningSwimmingCyclingDancingGardeningHikingHolding grudges. You know those icky feelings we may harbor towards another that rattle around in our subconscious? Well, those negative emotions are bad for our mental health. While our stubborn pride may prevent us from letting go of a grievance, it is important to wellbeing that we learn how to move forward instead of ruminating on such negativity.Hanging on to negative feelings is stressful. The roiling emotions caused by festering resentment or anger can lead to anxiety disorders, states an article published in the Journal of Psychopathology and Behavior Assessment. Emotion regulation, posit the authors, is an important strategy for diminishing feelings of fear and emotional reactivity.Try these tips for releasing pent up negative feelings:Practice forgiveness toward those who may have inflicted harm on you. This is not the same as reconciling with them or forgetting the incident but refers to letting go of the attached emotions to the slight through the act of forgiveness.Journaling can help diffuse feelings of resentment or frustration. By jotting the feelings down on paper they lose much of their potency.Start a gratitude journal and list three things per day that you are grateful for. This helps override those other negative emotions with new positive ones.Practice deep breathing exercises or meditation to help release the negativity.Excessive drinking. While an occasional alcoholic beverage is no big deal for most people, a tendency to overindulge can have dramatic negative consequences on mental wellbeing. In fact, substance abuse can stealthily tip into a substance use disorder. When addiction or chemical dependency results, negative life consequences ensue. Those can cause someone to spiral into depression or to acquire an anxiety disorder. The Centers for Disease Control have created guidelines for discerning what is moderate and what is heavy alcohol consumption. These guidelines stipulate that moderate alcohol consumption is limited to one alcoholic drink per day for women and two drinks for men. A “drink” is equivalent to a 5-ounce glass of wine, a 12-ounce beer, or 1.5 ounces of hard liquor.Social Media. Increasingly, social media overuse is being associated with depression and anxiety disorders. Something that at one time was hailed as a fun way to stay in touch with friends and family has morphed into a source of distress for many. Social media is a giant time-sucker, erasing hours of productivity each day in exchange for mind-numbing infinite scrolling. This can lead to loss of sleep, eye strain, poor posture, and symptoms of behavioral addiction. Most concerning is the negative impact social media over-consumption has on mental health. Many people find that viewing the seemingly perfect lives, faces, bodies, wardrobes, etc. posted on social media feeds can leave them feeling depressed and inadequate. Body image issues, cyberbullying, social media shaming, and low self-esteem are very serious consequences that can result in social anxiety, depression, and lead to isolating behaviors.Tips for reducing social media exposure:Give yourself a defined time limit on daily social media use, and stick to it.Stop scrolling social media at least an hour before bedtime.Go on a social media fast and just log out for a month to restore sanity.
Gratitude - In Gita Verse 3.12 In charge of the various necessities of life, the demigods, being satisfied by the performance of yajña [sacrifice], will supply all necessities to you. But he who enjoys such gifts without offering them to the demigods in return is certainly a thief. In this verse Krishna takes us further - he talks regarding Karma from Gratitude. In my blog Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.71, Krishna speaks regarding Give Up Desire. Now he says you live with your Needs and not for your Desire. In my blog Bhagavad Gita Verse 1.12, I have wrote the distinction between Need And Desire. The person who lives their life with the needs are capable of dropping their Ego. Unless you Sacrifice your desire and live the life all your needs can be provided. Dropping your desire is dropping your expectation and living into the present moment. Once you drop your desire suddenly you will find that even for the small need which is provided to you, you will be in gratitude.Let’s understand Gratitude from Junnaid’s life incidence. How to live in gratitude.A Sufi master, Junnaid. He was the master of al-Hillaj Mansoor. He had a habit: after each prayer – and Mohammedans pray five times a day – after each prayer he would say to the sky, “Your compassion is great. How beautifully you take care of us, and we don’t deserve it. I don’t even have words to show my gratefulness, but I hope you will understand the unexpressed gratitude of my heart.”They were on a pilgrimage, and it happened that for three days they passed through villages where orthodox Mohammedans would not allow them even to stay in the villages; there was no question of giving them food or water. For three days without food, without water, without sleep, tired, utterly frustrated… The disciples could not believe that this man Junnaid, their master, still goes on saying the same things. Before, it was okay – but still he goes on saying, “You are great, you are compassionate, and I don’t have words to express my gratitude.”On the third evening when he had finished his prayer, his disciples said, “Now it is time for an explanation. For three days we have been hungry, we have not had water, we are thirsty; we have not slept, we have been insulted continually, no place has been given to us, no shelter. At least today you should not say, ‘You are great, you are compassionate.’ For what are you showing your gratitude?”Junnaid laughed. He said, “My trust in existence is unconditional. It is not that I am grateful because existence provides this and that and that. I am – that’s enough. Existence accepts me – that’s enough. And I don’t deserve to be; I have not earned it. Moreover, these three days have been of tremendous beauty because I had an opportunity to watch whether anger would arise in me, and it didn’t arise; whether I would start to feel that God had forsaken me, and the idea did not arise. There has been no difference in my attitude towards existence. My gratitude has not changed, and it has filled me with more gratitude than ever. It was a fire test, and I have come out of it unburned. What more do you want? I will trust existence in my life and I will trust existence in my death. It is my love affair.Recollect from your own life, when you do anything from Enthusiasm, at that time you will not find any kind of negative emotion in you. Why because when you are Enthusiastic your whole focus is on giving and not on receiving. Just because we were not self-alert we could not realize this. In that moment you will find not only that no negative emotion but you will find your heart is full of love, and you will be thankful to everyone in that moment.Remember such incidence from your life and remind yourself again and again. This reminder will slowly spread in all your actions.Krishna in this verse says to Arjuna that unless you live in gratitude you cannot sacrifice your desire or ego, in that moment not align with Universe or demigods. So he says that they cannot be SATISFY. We are much stuck to the words so we go on doing things with our desire to satisfy the Universe or demigods. In the process we will find only frustration and we find that we are cheating ourselves. Just live Enthusiastically and see how you will be in Gratitude. In that Gratitude you will be Giver and not Receiver. Receivers always has a lot of expectation and desire they are greedy and thief. Don’t follow the words but live Enthusiastically and you will find that you can live this verse in your action.
Five Elements - In Gita Verse 3.14 All living bodies subsist on food grains, which are produced from rains. Rains are produced by performance of yajña [sacrifice], and yajña is born of prescribed duties. Not by Krishna but our Ayurveda also says that be in gratitude towards all the five elements, space(Ether), earth, water, air and fire. We worship all this five elements for being in our life and taking care of our needs. To nourish our body we need food but grain, food is combination of all the five elements.Krishna says unless we are in gratitude towards five elements and what they are giving to us we will not be doing our prescribed duties.Ayurveda evolved in the meditative minds of seers of truth - the rishis. For thousands of years their teachings were transmitted orally from teacher to disciple, and later they were set down in melodious Sanskrit poetry. Though many of these texts have been lost over time, an abundant body of Ayurvedic knowledge survives.Originating in Cosmic Consciousness, this wisdom was intuitively received in the hearts of the rishis. They perceived that consciousness was energy manifested into the five basic principles or elements. The rishis perceived that in the beginning the world existed in an unmanifested state of consciousness. From that state of unified consciousness. the subtle vibrations of the cosmic soundless sound aum manifested. From that vibration there first appeared the Ether element. This ethereal element then began to move; its subtle movements created the Air, which is Ether in action. The movement of Ether produced friction, and through that friction heat was generated. Particles of heat-energy combined to form intense light and from this light the Fire element manifested. Thus, Ether manifested into Air and it was the same Ether that further manifested into Fire. Through the heat of the Fire, certain ethereal elements dissolved and liquified, manifesting the Water element, and then solidified to form the molecules of Earth. In this way. Ether manifested into the four elements of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. From Earth, all organic living bodies including those in the vegetable kingdom such as herbs and grains, and those in the animal kingdom. including man, are created. Earth also contains the inorganic substances that comprise the mineral kingdom. Thus, out of the womb of the Five Elements all matter is born. The five basic elements exist in all matter. Water provides the classic example: the solid state of water, ice, is a manifestation of the Earth principle. Latent heat (Fire) in the ice liquifies it, manifesting the Water principle; and then eventually it turns into steam, expressing the Air principle. The steam disappears into Ether, or space. Thus the five basic elements; Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth, are present in one substance. All five originated in the energy issuing from Cosmic Consciousness: all five are present in all matter in the universe. Thus, energy and matter are one.Man as Microcosm.Man is a microcosm of nature and so the five basic elements present in all matter also exist within each individual.Ayurveda regards the human body and its sensory experiences as manifestations of cosmic energy expressed in the five basic elements. The ancient rishis perceived that these elements sprang from pure Cosmic Consciousness. Ayurveda aims to enable each individual to bring his body into a perfect harmonious relationship with that Consciousness.Krishna by saying that unless you live from your subjectivity you will not realise this five element from which our body is made and having expression of cosmic energy.
Back in June 2019 Mr. Pant tried one more time to make it possible to contribute for the process by which selection in the world poetry championship happens every year in Sinaia located in Romania and to make the first step possible he sent them the email with his two poems attached. For such a great purpose once more he chose the poems on the environment and this time not barrier reef but Arctic was the theme in which he wrote 2 poems and sent them for the submission process so the jury could examine and along side his registration was confirmed by the officials. As a short background here the poems have to go through the peer review and if they are cleared the jury approves them and consider them both for the festival anthology as well as for the Poet's entry in the world poetry championship ceremony that takes place in Romania. Hence when Mr. pant first took on the task to send them on it was a happy moment, he felt elated to send once again back in June 2019 and now only he had to wait for response. Meanwhile the process was on, Mr. pant relived moment of the past, kept in touch with the people who have been part of such a platform also in past, and hence in regular momentum he came to know at least for his satisfaction that his chosen theme was unique and it may inspire some fruitful result on the core that was sure to come. However he had his own douts, whether the languages with spelling mistakes may count, may be some metaphors or other figure of speech be challenging, or other things and while he had come to Delhi with some thinking pranks amongst his old friends and juniors, the luck and fate both awaited. The process was on and he had to wait as it is a long process, the competition is huge and so many poets from all across the world in all ages come to force not willing to miss such a chance and he was patient waiting for his happy moment to come to him soon. Although Mr. Pant was not quiet before he had come to Delhi, he had published 1 more edition of the Warming Boom, had been presented a falicitation by Poetry Ireland, some great responses for his works were still on the go and hence if the news of happy moment would have come sooner thence it was going to be an icing on the cake making it more delightful. He kept himself busy in those days, had some content writing with the Writing Squad, made some more great friends after coming back to the Indian capital for 1 year computer course and here also in July he had managed to release the 2nd edition of print books from Poetry Ireland and all that was going to come was a bigger happy news that could increase the celebration. The process was almost done as the August was coming, Mr. pant's wait was still on the same pedestal being patient, and hence after reading through some great posts from T S sir about poetry as well as the progress of the World Literature Academy of Romania, the happy hopes were to come around. It was now just a matter of time to share a great news with all and it has now happened as the news of the result of the selection has come this 3rd of August and different lists are made according to the category of the creative works as other genres for presentations in the festival anthology are also considered. There are some prominent poets who are on the top list, the other list contains the proce, One more that considers the Hykoo writers, and mainly where Mr. Pant's name is of the Primie De Excillenta, where after counting the names from the top Mr. pant is able to find his name listed on the 107th spot and feels honoured to have such a great joy. Thus he would like to express his gratitude to parents and family, the world poetry championship jury and Ts sir with his entire team from Romania, Mr. Pant's author team both online and in Mumbai offices, and most vitally all the readers across all the Europe and world, And his deepest of congratulations to all who are coming for championship ceremony. He hopes that the memory shall be a cracking one coming in future. He is excited to look forward to be part of it with all the great poets for a great memory to cherish. And once again thanks to all those with who's blessings this has been made possible once again, till more happy moments and delight of the championship moments come It's cheers from charlie for now...
Insightful Act - In Gita Verse 3.21 Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues.Read very carefully what Krishna says, he says a great man means the person who has courage to be with himself. They carry big responsibility, on their shoulder, as 99.99% of the people are imitatore, without any understanding they follow. As right now everyone’s eyes on Arjuna, what action he will take. They will not use their intelligence why and under what circumstances you took decision and then acted on that. They will just follow him blindly.Look after the Buddha and Mahavira without any insight many people become sannyasins. They become a burden to society, they did not want to take responsibility for themselves and their family so to run away from the responsibility they took sanyas. They were escapist. When I am saying they run away from their responsibility, I would like to explain by the following incidence when after enlightenment Buddha met his wife Yashodhara. When Buddha became enlightened, the first thing he said to his disciples was, ‘I would like to go to Yashodhara and talk to her.’ His wife….Ananda was very much disturbed (Anand was disturbed because he is followed Buddha’s word to become sanyasi). He said, ‘What is the point of your going back to the palace and talking to your wife? You have left her. Twelve years have passed.’And Ananda was a little bit disturbed also, because how can a Buddha think about his wife? Buddhas are not expected to think that way. When the others had left, Ananda said to Buddha, ‘This is not good. What will people think?’Buddha said, ‘What will people think? I have to express my gratitude to her, and I have to thank her for all the help she gave me. And I have to give something of that which has happened to me – I owe that much to her. I will have to go.’Read both Ananda and Buddha’s words carefully, Ananda wanted to follow something, decorum, rules, while Buddha through his self-awareness wanted to act. Buddha is not follower. He is not identified with his sanyas. He came back. He went to the palace. He saw his wife. Certainly Yashodhara was mad! This man escaped one night without even saying anything to her.She said to Buddha, ‘Couldn’t you have trusted me? You could have said that you wanted to go, and I would have been the last woman in the world to prevent you. Couldn’t you have trusted me even that much?’ And she was crying. Twelve years of anger! And this man had escaped like a thief in the middle of the night – suddenly, without giving a single hint to her.Buddha apologized and he said, ‘It was out of non-understanding. I was ignorant, I was not aware. But now I am aware and I know – that’s why I have come back. You have helped me tremendously. Forget those old things, now there is no point in thinking about ‘spilt milk’. Look at me! Something great has happened. I have come home. And I felt my first duty was towards you: to come, and to convey, and to share my experience with you.’The anger gone, the rage subsided, Yashodhara looked out through her tears. ‘Yes, this man has changed tremendously.’ This was not the same man she used to know. This was not the same man, not at all; this looked like a great luminosity… She could almost see the aura, a light around him. And he was so peaceful and so silent; he had almost disappeared. His presence was almost absence. And then, in spite of herself, she forgot what she was doing – she fell at his feet and she asked to be initiated.Rabindranath has written a poem about this incident when Buddha comes.Yashodhara asked him one thing. ‘Just tell me one thing,’ she said. ‘Whatever you have attained… I can see you have attained, whatsoever it is. I don’t know what it is – just tell me one thing: was it not possible to attain it here in this house?’ And Buddha could not say no. It was possible to attain it here in this house. Now he knew. Because it has nothing to do with forest or with town, with family or with ashram – it has nothing to do with any place; it has something to do with your innermost core. It is available everywhere. When Kabir, Nanak, Osho reach to their Buddhahood they understood where everything in the society has gone wrong, by taking the sanyas. They created new path through their experience and insight, they asked the people to do mediation, don’t renounce but mediate wherever you are, and without mediation, without your own insight even if you will become sanyasi you will be carrying the world with you wherever you are. With meditation living in the world you will be untouched by world.Krishna tells Arjuna that person of your stature, to whom many people will like to follow but they will be misguided by their unconsciousness. So please be self-aware and remember that it’s not only the war but many other responsibility universe has given to you. There will be many people will follow you, so come out of your self-unconsciousness and act from self-consciousness, in this war by fulfilling your assignment of the universe Fight Without Enmity.

Science And Religion - In Gita Verse 3.32 But those who, out of envy, disregard these teachings and do not follow them regularly are to be considered bereft of all knowledge, befooled, and ruined in their endeavors for perfection.Krishna says the people whose action is content-directed. Action is will; something has to be done. Of course, if the will remains ego-oriented, then you will not be religious. You will be a great doer, but not religious. There are people the act, speak with full awareness and then they will find a tremendous change in them. The very fact that their are awareness changes their acts. This kind of people are religious. When Krishna says perfect means religious, whole. Don’t combine religion means religious.People who follow the religion may or may not be religious. Religion is cult and religiousness is quality in us. It has fragrance of love, gratitude, surrender, from our act. It is not about knowledge the scriptures but taking the scripture as scientist took the syllabus as resources if the person who took scripture as resources to grow in consciousness, which cannot be taught but you have to be self-alert and watch yourself - will give you certain experience which you can express only through your actions. The true religion can only be one, just like science. You don't have a Mohammedan physics, a Hindu physics, a Christian physics; that would be nonsense. But that's what the religions have done – they have made the whole earth a madhouse. If science is one, then why should the science of the inner not be one, too?Science explores the objective world and religion explores the subjective world. Their work is the same, just their direction and dimension are different. In a more enlightened age there will be no such thing as religion, there will be only two sciences: objective science and subjective science. Objective science deals with things, subjective science deals with being. The most beautiful thing about science is that it does not pretend to be omniscient.Science does not pretend to be omniscient; it accepts its human limits. It knows how much it knows, and it knows that there is much more to know. And the greatest scientists know of something even deeper. The known, they know the boundaries of; the knowable they will know sooner or later – they are on the way. But only the greatest scientists like Albert Einstein will be aware of the third category, the unknowable, which will never be known. Nothing can be done about it because the ultimate mystery cannot be reduced to knowledge. We are part of existence – how can we know existence ultimate mystery? We have come very late; there was nobody present as an eyewitness. And there is no way for us to separate ourselves completely from existence and become just an observer. We live, we breathe, we exist with existence – we cannot separate ourselves from it. The moment we are separate, we are dead. And without being separate, just a watcher, with no involvement, with no attachment, you cannot know the ultimate mystery; hence it is impossible. There will remain something always unknowable. Yes, it can be felt, but it cannot be known. Perhaps it can be experienced in different ways – not like knowledge. You fall in love – can you say you know love? It seems to be a totally different phenomenon. You feel it. If you try to know it, perhaps it will evaporate in your hands. You cannot reduce it to knowing. You cannot make it an object of knowledge because it is not a mind phenomenon. It is something to do with your heart. Yes, your heartbeats know it, but that is a totally different kind of knowledge: the intellect is incapable of approaching the heartbeats. But there is something more than heart in you – your being, your life source. Just as you know through the mind, which is the most superficial part of your individuality, you know something from your heart – which is deeper than the mind. The mind cannot go into it, it is too deep for it. But behind the heart, still deeper, is your being, your very life source. That life source also has a way of knowing. When mind knows, we call it knowledge. When heart knows, we call it love. And when being knows, we call it meditation.Krishna tells Arjuna be self-aware, connect with your subjectivity, know from your being and act. This is perfect man, whole man.
Bondage And Freedom - In Gita Verse 4.12 Men in this world desire success in fruitive activities, and therefore they worship the demigods. Quickly, of course, men get results from fruitive work in this world.Krishna is telling us how we are after everything in the world. We are after desire so we want to achieve something, we want to live in the duality and not in unity. As a result to achieve the goal we are missing the present moment.Look in your life - we are so much in a hurry to achieve the goal that we are ready to do anything. Any kind of rituals, anyone to follow. Fake Guru, fake God. but this has got nothing to do with religion. Remember that whenever we are after the goal, this not the religion. The person who is in this moment and responding to this moment is religion. Everyone needs to act but what’s difference between the person who is after the goal and person who is responding to the present moment is only one thing the person who is after the goal he is in bondage and the person who is responding to the present moment is from freedom. What is bondage? – bondage is something which you have to do as an obsession, as a compulsion. You never wanted to do it and you have to do it. You have to go against yourself, whatever it is, it is a bondage. If you are just floating and it is what you always wanted to do with your total heart, your total being, it is freedom. Now let me state it as a paradox: if you are free as an obsession, in your freedom is bondage. If you are a slave with total acceptance, in your bondage is freedom. It depends. It is the attitude, not the situation. So only you can know about it, what it is.Unless we learn to give, we will not be able to come out of the attitude of bondage, running after the achievements and not responding to the present moment. Bondage means kind of stuckness, not flowing, giver means flowing.Let me explain to you who can be Giver by this Zen story.Giver should be Thankful:It happened with Dozo, a Zen monk. A rich man came to Dozo with ten thousand gold coins. That was a very big amount. He was going to gift it to the temple where Dozo was the priest. Dozo accepted it as if it was nothing. The rich man became agitated. He said, “Do you know these are ten thousand gold coins?”Dozo said, “You have said it so many times, I have heard it so many times. You have said it already too many times — do you think I am deaf?”The man was just asking for thanks, only thanks, nothing more. Then he said, “Ten thousand golden coins is a big amount, even to me. I am a very rich man, but that amount is very big.”Dozo said, “What do you want? What are you really asking? Are you asking for some gratitude? Are you asking that I should be thankful to you?”The man said, “At least that much can be expected.”So Dozo said, “Take your gold coins back. If you want to really give them to this temple, you will have to be thankful to me that I accepted.”When Dozo says that you should have to be thankful to me - means in the present moment you are responding to others for what they have done for you. Not that you are expecting anything from others even if it is thanks. Your expectation shows that you have attachments and goal for your giving but when you are thankful to others it shows that what you did was from freedom to give and share your belonging with others. Your are sharing with others because you are overflowing with the universal energy of love, and to express that you have given something in material.Krishna tell Arjuna that all your bondage reflecting in your words. And not respond to this moment. If you want to respond to this moment then your question would be not from bondage but what are other alternatives, when you will be Fighting Without Enmity, is to be considered. This is freedom. Same circumstances either you can act from bondage or from freedom.
Martial Art - In Gita Verse 4.17 The intricacies of action are very hard to understand. Therefore one should know properly what action is, what forbidden action is and what inaction is.Krishna is saying that it’s very difficult to understand the complexity of existence and act. When to act how to act, when restrict ourselves from act, what is inaction.First start from Inaction. When we are self-unconscious at that time we are not taking any initiative to act, is called inaction but when we become fully self-conscious we respond to the present moment, this is also inaction, we transcended our non-initiative to respond.During the journey from self-unconsciousness to self-consciousness we could not understand when and how to act. In Buddhism and Taoist they practice Martial Art. They practice Martial Art to defend. Once you learn this art then in your journey from Self-unconsciousness to Self-consciousness you will give hint when to act and when not to act. Your action will follow the awareness of act to defend.Practice of martial arts may not seem at first to be a particularly Taoist pursuit - after all martial means 'war like' and these skills are used to injure others. However, there is actually no contradiction - Taoist martial artists learn to defend themselves, not to attack others. At the same time they develop suppleness, fitness and timing. Success in the martial arts requires discipline, self-control and perseverance, thus they are also spiritual and mental activities. The primary unifying aspect of the East Asian martial arts, which sets them apart from other martial arts, is the influence of Taoism and Zen Buddhism. This influence has resulted in a strong emphasis on the mental and spiritual state of the practitioner, a state in which the rationalizing and calculating functions of the mind are suspended so that the mind and body can react immediately as a unit, reflecting the changing situation around the combatant. When this state is perfected, the everyday experience of the dualism of subject and object vanishes. Since this mental and physical state is also central to Taoism and Zen, and must be experienced to be grasped, many of their adherents practice the martial arts as a part of their philosophical and spiritual training. Conversely, numerous practitioners of the martial arts take up the practice of these philosophies.Through the Martial Art practice by spiritual seeker defend themselves means their focus is not on others, but on themselves. They practice Martial art to bring the awareness in their action. They have found by practicing this silence arises in them. They become silent. As in their action no aggressiveness their thoughts disappear. No-mind is found in very relaxed manner.Unless you are relaxed you cannot be in no-mind. No-mind simply means that you have stopped judging, fighting with mind. You started watching the mind.Mind is one of the most beautiful mechanisms. Science has not yet been able to create anything parallel to mind. Mind still remains the masterpiece, so complicated, so tremendously powerful, with so many potentialities. Watch it! Enjoy it!Watch the subtle nuances of the mind, the sudden turns, the beautiful turns, the sudden jumps and leaps; the games that mind goes on playing; the dreams that it weaves—the imagination, the memory; the thousand and one projections that it creates. Watch! Standing there, aloof, distant, not involved, by and by you will start feeling… The deeper your watchfulness becomes, the deeper your awareness becomes, and gaps start arising, intervals. One thought goes and another has not come, and there is a gap. One cloud has passed, another is coming and there is a gap.In those gaps, for the first time you will have glimpses of no-mind, you will have the taste of no-mind—call it the taste of Zen, or Tao, or Yoga. In those small intervals, suddenly the sky is clear and the sun is shining. Suddenly the world is full of mystery, because all barriers are dropped; the screen on your eyes is no more there. You see clearly, you see penetratingly. The whole existence becomes transparent. We are fortunate to understand Krishna from various practices. Be in gratitude towards all the practices and you will understand yourself in a very simple way.Krishna through Gita guiding us how to be with ourselves in the middle of the world.
Rituals - In Gita Verse 4.25 Some yogīs perfectly worship the demigods by offering different sacrifices to them, and some offer sacrifices in the fire of the Supreme Brahman. In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.15, I wrote regarding sacrifice. Krishna tells Arjuna there is only one Sacrifice is needed is self-unconsciousness, your ego. All the other sacrifices are nothing but form your desire to achieve something from the worldly material. It’s business with God. Through your unconscious act you only can desire to achieve something but never realize your purpose of this life is to grow in self-consciousness.Universe has given you birth as human being to grow in consciousness, otherwise animal life would have been enough. But universe is very creative it want to give everyone something different so everyone can be unique. Everyone can live without comparison. One who understand this and then his action will be for delivering something and not to achieve anything. It’s will be full of joy and participation with universe, through his action. There will be innocence in it. It will have fragrance of love, compassion in it.When people are doing any rituals for any achievements they are following the words, but not their own conscience. It doesn’t mean not to do the any rituals, but where is your focus is that makes difference. All the rituals has its own significances, but if it has done from gratitude towards the universe, to offer our ego and aligning our will with universal will then it is Supreme Brahman. Before doing any rituals work on your own desire, your ego, burn it, so your rituals will help you to align your will with supreme will and in that way you can become vehicle of universe to deliver his act and for you, you will grow in consciousness. You will melt in yourself. You will become Godliness. This is the reward universe want you to give. But we are not available for it. We are busy in getting something which is our own goal which is not align with universe.Take the example of Arjuna. When he says he is not willing to fight the war, what he is saying that according to him and his knowledge what he is doing is sin. He is not align with universe in that moment. Universe has given him the hint in various ways that not only Pandava but citizen of hastinapur has also suffer in the dictatorship of Duryodhana. Which I have already wrote in my Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.31 blog. Universe wants Arjuna to fight but Fight Without Enmity; now when Arjuna denies to fight what he is conveying is only one thing that I am superior than Universe, let universe follow me. This is how knowledgeable person think and act. The person of knowing will surrender himself to present moment and move towards his own subjectivity to take action from his knowing. Knowing simply means that what is order from supreme is there and I will use my body accordingly to act. In total acceptance of the objective world I will sacrifice my ego to act from my subjectivity. This is according to Krishna is offer sacrifices in the fire of the Supreme Brahman, where you burn your ego to act accordingly universe.Again I repeat rituals require for sacrificing our ego and not for our desires to achieve anything from objective world. Rama also did rituals before fighting the war, that rituals was done by Ravana. Even though Ravana was his enemy still after the rituals he bow down to him to take his blessing. Rama bow down to Ravana to take his blessing so that he can surrender his ego. Because he bow down Ravana blessed him his victory. Rama didn’t asked for it he bow down in his gratitude towards the universe. For him Ravana in that moment was not an enemy but person who is higher than him, who did rituals for him. So he bow down.Think how many times, forget about bowing down but in gratitude towards our enemy. If you can be in gratitude towards your enemy than your ego will be immediately sacrifice. Means we can librarate from our ego.Now take Rama’s case and Arjuna case. Both of them was suppose to fight the war. Rama took it as universal will, align with it his own will and prepared himself to fight the war with available resources, which was monkeys and few other animals. He was calm. While Arjuna could not accept it as universal will and not able to align his will with universe so he is miserable with all the resources and charioteer like Krishna.Misery only shows that you are not align with universal will and not ready to sacrifice your ego to Supreme Brahman.Krishna tells Arjuna to sacrifice his ego and act according to universal will.
Intangible-Self - In Gita Verse 4.32 All these different types of sacrifice are approved by the Vedas, and all of them are born of different types of work. Knowing them as such, you will become liberated.Krishna tells teaching of the veda says that which ever way you can drop the ego practice that. There is no particular practice to follow for dropping the ego. Just you need to practice self-alertness. If you are self-alert you will know what universe has given you the indication in this moment.Understand from our own life. If you are alone in the room and doing certain things. Suddenly you feel that someone has come or peep you from the door how much alert we become. Here when we become self-alert because of others, but we never think that we become alert because someone was watching us. As we are always focus on mind. Mind at that time tells us that because someone is watching please be alert. If we are little self-alert we will think differently - if someone is watching us we can become alert but others cannot watch us all the time 24x7 we need to find out way by which all the 24x7 we can be watched, means ego is under scanner. Slowly we realize that no one others can watch us but definitely we can watch ourselves all 24x7. This thought will transform you from following the mind to let mind follow you. Before we start watching ourselves we need to understand that our intangibility, our subjectivity only can watch us. To become familiar with our intangible self, subjectivity, becoming aware of the breath will help us lot. Because through the breath we get understanding that we cannot touch the air but air can touch us. We cannot give life to intangible but intangible can give life to us.Once this understanding will come from within without any reference of the knowledge then immediately you can feel that your intangible self can watch you. All your fear of unknown will dropped. As for us familiar means only tangible. So when we are alone we are always afraid of our aloneness. We have fear of being alone. To fill up our aloneness immediately we run after someone’s company. This is how we develop our codependency pattern.Once through your breath and your realization of your intangible self, immediately you can relaxed for unknown and slowly, slowly with your self-alertness and familiarity with your intangible self you can start watching yourself - means watching the tangible self. This is first step for turning in.If you can become conscious of yourself for your intangible self immediately your attachments and resentment of the objective world will dropped. It’s only there because your focus was on the tangible. Once your focus will shift towards your intangible world you will filled with gratitude for whatever is available to you. Even if someone will try to abuse you you will not be disturbed, but definitely whatever your action will be, it will be form love, compassion. As intangible self only knows compassion towards you and for everyone. The immediate difference that you will find is you start honouring yourself and loving yourself. You will be calm in the middle of the objective world. You have accepted yourself as you are.Accept yourself as you are. And that is the most difficult thing in the world, because it goes against your training, education, your culture. From the very beginning you have been told how you should be. Nobody has ever told you that you are good as you areDon't be obsessed with yourself - but a natural self-love is a must, a basic phenomenon. Only then out of it can you love somebody else. Accept yourself, love yourself.Nobody else has ever been like you and nobody else will ever be like you; you are simply unique, incomparable. Accept this, love this, celebrate this - and in that very celebration you will start seeing the uniqueness of the others, the incomparable beauty of the others. Love is possible only when there is a deep acceptance of oneself, the other, the world. Acceptance creates the milieu in which love grows, the soil in which love blooms.Krishna tells Arjuna don’t get stuck to the words of veda understand it, once your understanding will come you will be able to watch yourself, your intangible self will watch your tangible self. In the process your action cannot be sinful.
Transmission Of Truth - In Gita Verse 4.39 A faithful man who is dedicated to transcendental knowledge and who subdues his senses is eligible to achieve such knowledge, and having achieved it he quickly attains the supreme spiritual peace. When Krishna says - A faithful man who is dedicated to transcendental knowledge - he means person who know Knowledge is not knowledge. It has the appearance of knowledge, hence it deceives many. Knowledge is only information. It does not transform you; you remain the same.Let’s understand distinction between Knowledge and wisdom.Knowledge is a way for ignorance to protect itself - and it protects itself very cunningly, very efficiently, very cleverly. Knowledge is the enemy although it appears as the friend. This is the first step towards wisdom: to know that you don't know, to know that all knowledge is borrowed, to know that it has not happened to you, it has come from others, that it is not your own insight, your own realization. The moment knowledge is your own realization, it is wisdom.Wisdom means that you are not a parrot, that you are a man, that you are not repeating others but expressing yourself, that you are not a carbon copy, that you have an original face of your own.Knowledge makes you a carbon copy, and to be a carbon copy is the ugliest thing in the world. That is the greatest calamity that can happen to a man - because knowing not and yet believing that you know, you will remain always ignorant and in darkness. And whatsoever you do is going to be wrong. You may be able to convince even others that you know, you may be able to strengthen your ego, you may become very famous, you may be known as a great scholar, a pundit, but deep down there is nothing but darkness. Deep down you have not yet encountered yourself, you have not yet entered in the temple of your being. The ignorant is in a far better situation. At least he has no pretensions, at least he is not deceiving others and himself. And ignorance has a beauty - the beauty of simplicity, the beauty of uncomplicated ness. To know that "I don't know" immediately brings a great relief. To know, to experience, one's utter ignorance fills one with great wonder - the existence is transformed into a mystery. And that's what God is all about. To know the universe as a miracle, as a mystery, as something unbelievable, as something impenetrable - as something before which you can only bow down in deep gratitude, you can only surrender in awe - is the beginning of wisdom.Socrates is right when he says: I know only one thing - that I don't know at all.To be wise is not to be knowledgeable. To be wise means to realize something of your consciousness - first within and then without; to feel the pulsation of life within you and then without. To experience this mysterious consciousness that you are, first one has to experience it in the innermost core of one's being, because that is the closest door to God.Once you have known it within, it is not difficult to know it without. But remember: the wise man never accumulates knowledge - his wisdom is spontaneous. Knowledge always belongs to the past, wisdom belongs to the present. Remember these distinctions. Unless you understand the difference very clearly between knowledge and wisdom, you will not be able to understand these sutras of Gautama the Buddha. And they are tremendously important.Knowledge comes from the past, from others, from scriptures. And Buddha has said:My transmission of truth is beyond the scriptures. What I am saying, what I am imparting, what I am communing, is not written anywhere, has not been spoken anywhere - in fact, cannot be spoken at all, cannot be written at all. It is transferred in deep silence between the master and the disciple: it is a love affair. Wisdom is contagious. It is not taught, remember; you can receive it but it cannot be given to you.Krishna says unless you go beyond the scriptures, you cannot transcend knowledge. The person who has transcended the knowledge he attains the supreme spiritual peace.
Devotion - In Gita Verse 5.2 The Personality of Godhead replied: The renunciation of work and work in devotion are both good for liberation. But, of the two, work in devotional service is better than renunciation of work.Krishna says to Arjuna that from both the path you will be liberated from your knowledge. But for Krishna work in devotional service is better. In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.28, blog I wrote - Devotion means that you are beginning to experience the divine in matter, that you are beginning to perceive the unmanifest in the manifest, that the formless has begun to be glimpsed shimmering in form.Let’s understand this verse of Kirishna by verse of Daya:The glory of your name is infinite, as even a tiny spark of fire burns the greatest forest. “If even a small spark falls onto me, O Lord, I will burn like the forest and turn to ash.” The moment the devotee is burned to ash, to nothingness, the moment he has been erased, he becomes the divine. The death of the devotee is the birth of the divine within him. The death of the devotee is the coming of godliness. Devotion is a lesson in death, because love is a lesson in death. Only those who are able to die ever know love, and only those who are determined to die the great death ever know devotion.Be determined: it can happen. And until it does, you will remain the same orphan that you are now. It can happen, it is very close to you. If you open your doors and windows even a little the divine will come inside; just as the rays of the sun and the fresh air enter as soon as you open the doors of your house. Don’t sit with your doors shut. Sway, dance, sing, give thanks to life. If you can thank life, you will know that whatever you have already received, even that is enough. What you have is enough. If you can give thanks for that, you will receive more and more. Your gratefulness will bring more and more. The greater your gratitude, the more will come onto your side of the scales. The more your gratitude, the more you will be worthy and the more you will be filled with the blessings of the divine. The path of devotion is the path of the heart. Only the mad succeed there, only those who can laugh and cry with their whole heart, those who are not afraid to drink the wine of the divine – because when you drink that wine you will lose all your senses, you will lose all control over your life. Then you will walk when he makes you walk, you will stand when he makes you stand. Even though it is he who is making you walk, he who is making you stand up, your life goes on very beautifully, very blissfully. Right now, your life is nothing but sorrow: then your life will be nothing but bliss. But this happens only when your life is not under your control. And that is the fear. The only thing that stops you from moving toward devotion is this fear that you will lose control and no longer remain your own master. If you want the divine to be your master, you cannot remain the master yourself. Lord…this is forever my request. If the divine is to be your lord, you must give up your lordship over yourself. If you want the divine to be your master, you must get off the throne. Get off the throne! As soon as you do, you will find that he has always been sitting there. You couldn’t see him because you were sitting there. Get down and bow in front of the throne and you will find that his boundless radiance, his infinite light, his grace has filled you from all sides.Ramakrishna used to say: “You are unnecessarily rowing. Unfurl your sails, put down your oars. His winds are blowing. He will take your boat to the other shore.”Devotion is sailing with the wind, the path of knowledge is working the oars. In rowing, naturally it is you who will work. But when the sails fill with the winds of God and the boat takes off, you don’t have to do anything. Surrender, unfurl your sails! Nothing done on your own has succeeded so far. Stop relying on yourself. Walk with his feet, see with his eyes, live according to him. Let your heart beat with his heart. These verses of Daya are unique. They can bring a revolution into your life. For Krishna devotion is better as devotion is not a path. You don’t have to travel it. Devotion is a way of merging and melting into existence. It is not a pilgrimage; it is simply losing all the boundaries that divide you from existence – it is a love affair.Love is not a path. Love is a merger with an individual, a deep intimacy of two hearts – so deep that the two hearts start dancing in the same harmony. Although the hearts are two, the harmony is one, the music is one, the dance is one. What love is between individuals, devotion is between one rebel and the whole existence. He dances in the waves of the ocean, he dances in the dancing trees in the sun, he dances with the stars. His heart responds to the fragrance of the flowers, to the songs of the birds, to the silence of the night.Devotion is not a path. Devotion is the death of the personality. That which is mortal in you, you drop of your own accord; only the immortal remains, the eternal remains, the deathless remains. And naturally the deathless cannot be separate from existence – which is deathless, which is always ongoing, knows no beginning, no end.Devotion is the highest form of love.It is possible you may love one person, and love becomes so deep that slowly, slowly the very quality of love changes into devotion. Then that person becomes only a window for you to take a jump into existence. That is the situation of the master, as far as the rebel is concerned.Devotion is not a path. Devotion is only a love affair, purified to its ultimate state. Then whomsoever you love becomes a door, a bridge to the universal organic unity, the experience of your small identity dissolving in the ocean just like a dewdrop slipping from a lotus leaf.
Childlike Wonder - In Gita Verse 5.22 An intelligent person does not take part in the sources of misery, which are due to contact with the material senses. O son of Kuntī, such pleasures have a beginning and an end, and so the wise man does not delight in them.Krishna tells that the first step towards discovery is to accept yourself, rejoice in being yourself. You are not to be a Jesus, no, you are not to be a Buddha. In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 4.13 I wrote - When you are not trying to become anybody else, then you simply relax — then a grace arises. Then you are full of grandeur, splendor, harmony — because then there is no conflict! nowhere to go, nothing to fight for; nothing to force, enforce upon yourself violently. You become innocent. Why is childlikeness, innocence compared to meditation? When a man is reborn, only then he understands the beauty and the grandeur of childhood. The child is ignorant; hence he is unable to understand the tremendous innocence that surrounds him. Once a child becomes aware of his own innocence, there is no difference between the child and the sage. The sage is not higher and the child is not lower. The only difference is, the child knows not what he is and the sage knows it.I am reminded of Socrates. In his very last moments of life he said to his disciples, “When I was young, I used to think I knew much. As I became older, as I knew more, a strange thing started happening: an awareness that knowing more was bringing me to knowing less.”And finally, when the Oracle of Delphi declared Socrates to be the wisest man in the world…the people of Athens were very happy and they went to Socrates, but Socrates said, “Go back and tell the Oracle that at least for once its prophecy has been wrong. Socrates knows nothing.”The people were shocked. They went to the Oracle…but the Oracle laughed and said, “That’s why I have declared him the wisest man in the world! It is only the ignorant people who think they know.” The more you know, the more you become innocent.According to the Socratic division, there are two categories of people: the ignorant knowers and the knowing ignorants. The world is dominated by the second category. These are your priests, your professors; these are your leaders, these are your saints, these are your religious messiahs, saviors, prophets, all proclaiming that they know. But their very proclamation destroys the utter simplicity and innocence of a child.Bodhidharma remained in China for fourteen years. He was sent by his master to spread the message of meditation. After fourteen years, he wanted to come back to the Himalayas; he was old and was ready to disappear into the eternal snows. He had thousands of disciples – he was one of the rarest people who have existed on the earth – but he called only four disciples and he said, “I will ask only one question: what is the essence of my teaching? Whoever gives me the right answer will be my successor.”There was a great silence, tremendous expectation. Everybody looked at the first disciple, who was the most learned, most scholarly. The first disciple said, “Going beyond the mind is what all your teaching can be reduced to.”Bodhidharma said, “You have my skin, but not more than that.”He turned to the second disciple who said, “There is no one to go beyond the mind. All is silent. There is no division between the one that has to be transcended and one that has to transcend. This is the essence of your teaching.”Bodhidharma said, “You have my bones.”And he turned to the third disciple, who said, “The essence of your teaching is inexpressible.”Bodhidharma laughed and he said, “But you have expressed it! You have said something about it. You have my marrow.”And he turned to the fourth disciple who had only tears and utter silence, no answer. He fell at the feet of Bodhidharma…and he was accepted as the successor, although he had not answered anything. But he has answered – without answering, without using words, without using language. His tears have shown much more than any language can contain…and his gratitude and his prayerfulness and his thankfulness to the master…what more can you say?The great gathering of disciples was very much disappointed, because this was a man nobody had ever bothered about. The great scholars have been rejected; the great knowers have not been accepted, and an ordinary man…Krishna tells Arjuna that ordinariness is the only extraordinary thing in the world…that childlike wonder, that childlike experience of the mysterious all around.Remember one thing: the moment you start knowing something you are not a child. You have started becoming part of the adult world. The society has initiated you into civilization; it has distracted you from your essential nature. When the child is surrounded by the mysterious all around, everything just a mystery with no answer, with no question, he is exactly at the point the sage ultimately reaches. That’s why childlikeness is compared again and again to meditation. Meditation would not have been needed if people had remained in their essential childlikeness.Do you know the root of the word meditation? – it comes from the same root as medicine. It is a medicine. But the medicine is needed only if you are sick. Meditation is needed if you are spiritually sick. Childlikeness is your spiritual health, your spiritual wholeness; you don’t need any meditation.Krishna is talking about the nature of wonderment like child who will be always blissful. Bliss is not pleasures have a beginning and an end.
Be Simple - In Gita Verse 5.29 A person in full consciousness of Me, knowing Me to be the ultimate beneficiary of all sacrifices and austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods, and the benefactor and well-wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the pangs of material miseries. When Krishna says austerity, he means, “Be simple, don’t cultivate it”...because cultivated simplicity is not simplicity. How can a cultivated simplicity be simple? It is very complex; you have been trying, calculating, cultivating. In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 2.61, blog I wrote regarding Masochists, who have converted austerity into self-torture.Austerity cannot be practiced. You simply have to look at life and see that the more complicated you become, the less sensitive you become. And the less sensitive you are, the farther away from existence you are. The more sensitive you become, the closer and closer and closer you come. Be sensitive so totally that nothing is left behind, no holding back; and suddenly, the divine is there. It has always been there; it is just that you were not sensitive. Austerity is a simple life, a life of understanding. You need not move into a hut, you need not go naked. You can live simply in life, with understanding. Poverty will not help but understanding will. You can force poverty on yourself, you can become dirty, but that won’t help. Become more sensitive, become more austere. And when I say become, I don’t mean practice, I mean understand. Try to see that whenever you are simple, things go beautifully. Whenever you are complex, things become problematic; you create more puzzles to be solved and everything becomes entwined, a mess. Live a simple life of needs being fulfilled, with no mad desires. You need food, you need clothing, you need a shelter – finished. Krishna tells Arjuna that an austere man comes to know that happiness is the nature of life. Right now Arjuna you are thinking that if you run away from the war you will be happy. This is your desire and not need.Austerity will mean then: come down to your needs. Krishna says so remember, Arjuna, the more you are possession oriented, the less happy you will be. The less happy you are, the farther away from the divine, from prayer, from gratitude you will be.Be austere. Live with the necessary and forget about desires. They are fantasies in the mind, ripples in the lake. They only disturb you, they can never lead you to any contentment.
Use The Mind - In Gita Verse 6.5 One must deliver himself with the help of his mind, and not degrade himself. The mind is the friend of the conditioned soul, and his enemy as well.Krishna is saying that Mind is friend as Servant and enemy as Master.I have heard an ancient story:A king was very happy with one of his servants. He was so devoted, so totally devoted to the king; he was always ready to sacrifice his life for the king. The king was immensely happy, and many times he has saved the king, risking his own life. He was the king's bodyguard. One day the king was feeling so happy with the man, he said, ‘If you desire anything, if you have any desire, just tell me and I will fulfill it. You have done so much for me that I can never show my gratitude, I can never repay you, but today I would like to fulfill any of your wishes whatsoever it is.’The servant said, ‘You have already given me too much. I am so blessed just by being always with you - I don't need anything.’But the king insisted. The more the servant said, ‘There is no need,' the more the king insisted. Finally the servant said, 'Then it's okay. You make me the king for twenty-four hours and you be the guard.’The king was a little apprehensive, afraid, but he was a man of his word and he had to fulfill the desire. So for twenty-four hours he became the guard and the guard became the king. And do you know what the guard did? The first thing that he did, he ordered the king to be killed, sentenced to death! The king said, 'What are you doing?' He said, ‘You keep quiet! You are simply the guard and nothing more. It is my wish and now I am the king!’The king was killed, and the servant became the king forever.Servants have their own devious ways to become masters. The mind is one of the most beautiful, the most complex, the most evolved mechanisms. It has served you well, it serves you well. Because of its services you have repeated the same story in your life, everybody has repeated the same story: you have made the mind the master and now the master treats you just like a servant. This is the problem, not that the mind has to be thrown out.And that's what meditation is all about: the art of moving away from the mind, being above the mind, becoming transcendental to the mind, knowing that ‘I am not the mind.’ That does not mean that you have to throw out the mind. Knowing that ‘I am not the mind’ makes you again the master. You can use the mind. Right now, mind is not within your hands. You are not a good charioteer. Mind has not to be rejected at all; if you reject it, it will remain. Rejection means repression. Anything rejected never leaves you; it simply moves from the conscious to the unconscious, from the lighted part of your being to the dark layers where you cannot face it. You become oblivious of it, but it is there, more alive than ever. It is better to face the enemy than to keep the enemy at your back; that is far more dangerous.Mind is a beautiful mechanism, one of the miracles of existence. We have not been able yet to make anything comparable to human mind. Even the most sophisticated computers are nothing compared to it. A single human mind can contain all the libraries of the world; its capacities are almost unbounded. But it is a machine, it is not you. To get identified with it is wrong, to make it your master is wrong, to be guided by it is wrong. But to be the master and the guide is perfectly right. The mind as a servant is of tremendous value, so don't reject it. To reject it will impoverish you, it will not enrich you.Krishna is not against the mind; he is in favor of transcending it. And if you reject you cannot transcend. Use it as a stepping-stone. It all depends on you: you can make it a hindrance if you start thinking that the mind has to be rejected, denied, destroyed; or you can make it a stepping-stone if you accept it, if you try to understand it. In the very effort of understanding it, transcendence happens. You go beyond it, you become a witness.

Transcendent Self - In Gita Verse 6.19 As a lamp in a windless place does not waver, so the transcendentalist, whose mind is controlled, remains always steady in his meditation on the transcendent Self. When Krishna says - As a lamp in a windless place does not waver - he is talking about witnessing consciousness. The moment you start witnessing yourself, you will see three layers of existence within you. One is the outermost; anybody can observe it; it is objective; it is material; it is your body. The second layer behind it is your mind, your thoughts, your dreams, your expectations. Only you can see them, nobody else can see them from outside. They are not objective: they are subjective, but they certainly are. They exist in their own way; you cannot deny them their existence. Certainly on a different wavelength, not as solid and physical as the body, but you can see them, they direct your life, they are your hopes, your projections, your expectations. But beyond both there is a witness which can watch both the body and the mind, the material and nonmaterial. This witness, this consciousness, this awareness, is beyond both. It is neither material nor nonmaterial, because it is beyond both. And you cannot go beyond it. You cannot witness it. You have come to the very end of the rope, you have come to the very bottom of existence. This awareness is called the transcendental, because it transcends the duality of body-mind. And to be centered in it, you have come home, because there is no way beyond it. Here ends the road. Suddenly you find everything in its perfection. Nothing is missing, nothing needs improvement, refinement; everything is as it should be. And this feeling, that everything is as it should be, brings a tremendous gratitude. The perfection of existence fills you with tremendous joy that you are a participant in a perfect existence, that you are an invited guest, that you are welcome here, that the whole existence needs you. If you were not here, it would miss you. There would remain some place vacant. Nobody else can take your place. This gives you individuality and dignity and a great blissfulness. For the first time you are at ease with existence, with trees, with stars, with the ocean. The whole becomes your home. This is the transcendental. It is called transcendental because it transcends all duality and brings you to a state of oneness. This is the ultimate outcome of a meditative consciousness.Maharishi Mahesh Yogi calls his meditation Transcendental Meditation. That is an unnecessary repetition of words. “Meditation” is enough, or “transcendental” is enough, because both mean the same. Meditation brings you to transcendence and every transcendence is nothing but the ultimate flowering of meditation. And what he calls Transcendental Meditation is neither transcendental nor meditation; it is just chanting a certain name.In the East we have known for centuries that chanting is good for sleep, and sleep is good for health. So there is nothing wrong in it, just fifteen minutes or ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes in the evening. If you can do it, you will have better health, a better sense of well-being, so there is nothing wrong in it. But it is not meditation.Meditation is just the opposite. It is awakening. It is becoming fully aware of your body, of your mind. And you have simply to be watchful. You don’t have to repeat anything, because repetition means you have fallen into identifying with the thought process.Chanting is also a thought process.Meditation is always the essential awakening, witnessing, watchfulness, consciousness. It is never unconscious. It is never a deep sleep. It is a deep awakening. The moment you are alert, you can see the body, you can see your mind, and you can experience yourself. And beyond this ‘yourself’ you cannot go. You cannot go behind it or beyond it. It is your very being. You cannot jump out of it. It is not a dress that you can jump out of.It is you yourself. It is your very essence. This essence is transcendental.Krishna tells Arjuna that person who has known himself through witnessing for him even the war doesn’t matter. He will be able to fight the war by witnessing.
Love The Mind - In Gita Verse 6.25 Gradually, step by step, one should become situated in trance by means of intelligence sustained by full conviction, and thus the mind should be fixed on the Self alone and should think of nothing else.Krishna is talking about No-Mind.In my Bhagavad Gita Verse 3.2 and Bhagavad Gita Verse 6.7 I wrote regarding No-Mind. Also wrote that No-Mind is beyond mind. You have to understand two things very clearly: first, mind is a great miracle.Existence has not been able to create anything higher than your mind. Its function is so complex that it baffles the greatest scientists. It manages your whole body, and it is such a complex system. Who manages that a certain part of your blood should go to the brain? Who manages that only a certain amount of oxygen should reach to the brain? Who manages what part of your food should become bones, should become blood, should become skin? Who manages that part of your skin should become nails and part of your skin should become eyes and part of your skin should become ears?Certainly you are not managing it, and we don’t see any other manager around. So first you have to be grateful to the mind. That is a first step to go beyond mind, not as an enemy but as a friend. Have tremendous respect for mind. We are obliged so much by the mind, there is no way to return our gratitude. So the first thing is: meditation is not against mind, it is beyond mind. And beyond is not equivalent to against. That misunderstanding spreads the more people talk about meditation, particularly people who don’t understand meditation – those who have read about it, those who have heard about it, those who know the techniques…and techniques are simple; they are available in many scriptures, you can read them. And now there are books on how to do anything – car mechanics, electric engineering, anything – you ask, and the bookseller is ready to give you a book about how to do it.Now book with a cassette are available. The book will give all the background of the meditation and the cassette will give all the instructions, so you need not go anywhere. Just sitting in your room with your tape recorder and you have a master! Gautam Buddha is no longer needed….At the same time a master will never become irrelevant for a simple reason: who will teach you to love the mind and yet go beyond it? To love your body, to respect your body? To have gratitude towards your mind, its tremendous, miraculous functioning? That will make a great friendship, a bridge between you and the mind. With this friendship deepening, whenever you are meditating, the mind will not disturb because your meditation is not against it. It is in fact its own fulfillment, it is its own ultimate flowering. Going beyond it is not an antagonistic attitude, but a friendly evolution. So this should be the background of all meditators: not to be a fighter. If you fight you may be able to make the mind quiet for some time, but it is not your victory. The mind will come back, you will need it. You cannot live without it; you cannot exist in the world without it.And if you can create a friendly relationship with the mind, a loving bridge, rather than being a hindrance to meditation it starts becoming a help. It protects your silence because that silence is also its own treasure, it is not just yours. It becomes a soil in which the roses of meditation will blossom, and the soil will be as happy as the roses. When the roses will be dancing in the sun, in the rain, in the wind, the soil will also rejoice.Krishna’s approach is totally different from the approach that has been taken by knowledgeable people. For thousands of years, all the knowledgeable people have been teaching something against body, against mind.Knowledgeable people have taught against the body. That was so ridiculous – you have to live in the body, you have to nourish the body; you have to keep it healthy, it is your home. They have been talking against mind.Krishna guidance is simple, be with everything but as a friend, as a watcher.
