Awaiting for change - Daughter in law
 Harsha Darji
 10 April 2018

Daughter in law is said to be laxmi, but still they disrespect her, ill-treat her, does not give space to live or survive & wants her to be perfect in everything from the day one. Every hour its difficult for her to survive coz every hour ppl keep finding faults in her. Just look at yourself, you ppl must be in your 30’s, 40’s & 50’s are you perfect in all aspects. Don’t you make mistakes; don’t you see faults within yourself??? After all she is also a human; she has left her family and has come at in laws place. Make her feel homely & comfortable, make her feel that she is at right place, where she need not to worry. She would get more love & care that she used to get from her parents. If you don’t like that someone disrespect you, than do not misbehave with her. If you treat her with love & affection, you would get more love in returns. Relationship does not mean that daughter in law needs to change herself completely & you ppl still remain the same. Let her be herself. Togetherness brings more improvements instead of pointing her & finding mistakes in each & everything that she does. We are living in 21st century & still if you think woman are only here to do household chores than there is no illiterate person like you though being educated.  There is an old saying “As you sow, so shall you reap”. If this is how you would behave with your daughter in law, than what lessons who would leave behind for your grandson, granddaughter & upcoming generation. She takes all the little initiative to make her husband & her family happy, she has not cooked before, but she is learning, she has not done house hold work, but still she is managing. Appreciate her little efforts & if you can’t appreciate than stop finding faults in her. Each one should take initiatie to improve relationship & make it healthier instead of complaining & arguing with each other, coz all needs the improvement, not only your Daughter in law. #smblogcontest

Bridge the gap between education and skill development
 StoryMirror Feed
 28 April 2018

StoryMirror interviewed Bringle Academy that are striking to bring a learning revolution. Here is what they have to say.Tell us about your journey and why BRINGLE started?India is relatively young as a nation with around 28 million youth population being added every year. There is a surge in the implementation of educational technologies for improving student learning. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. Thus began the idea of bridging the gap between education and skills development in 2016. We strive to transform lessons into engaging student-centered, active learning experiences. We began our journey of combining technology with education at Thane, Maharashtra with one center. Our main focus was quaint computer courses and six sigma green and black belt courses. We found our purpose when a young adult with cerebral palsy joined us to learn computers. It was a challenging situation for us to alter our pedagogy and create a learning environment for him. Perhaps most importantly, educators should demonstrate a great deal of emotional support and patience and utilize effective teaching strategies for students with cerebral palsy. Providing positive academic feedback, assisting students in developing friendships with general education peers, and communicating frequently with parents and therapists are all ways that teachers can inspire confidence and success in students with cerebral palsy. Being a catalyst for a Cerebal Palsy dreamer to fulfill his dreams has been our biggest reward so far.Bringle Academy strives to bring a learning revolution, with our core philosophy of ‘Growing with Grace’, which can be achieved through self-improvement and skill enhancement. We constantly thrive on nature’s principal, that ‘learning never stops’, therefore our programs are designed for all age groups and professions. We have even extended our reach to housewives and senior citizens as well. We seek out the best thinkers in an area, and form collaborative networks to work together and bring about transformation. Finally, we share our work with others so it will have the greatest possible impact.Explain us your model and its features. We researched 300+ EdTech platforms & institutes to identify the loop holes and scope of improvement in current education system. After intensive brain storming for 2 Years our team of experts identified key areas to bring disruptive innovation in education space. We developed a robust & effective framework and filed a patent for the same in Dec 2017. We collaborated with various Brand Partners to add value to our initiative. We adopt Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology in all our centers followed by Data Analytics to ensure the continuous improvement in 3 aspects1. Should we fear Examinations?
 Ratna Kaul Bhardwaj

It is wrong to believe that examinations are a burden or a fear on part of all the communities involved in  the entire set up of our examination system, be it teachers, students or the parents. It is very important to understand that Examinations are an important tool to evaluate our understanding about the subjects being taught, or being learned.Generally we relate the examinations with the grades or the percentage of marks scored. If understood deeply, the grades or the marks scored don’t hold much importance in comparison to what has been learned or taught  and how the same has affected or been  related to  our day to day life.  When we prepare ourselves for the examinations, we get an opportunity to widen our understanding, to check the facts properly  and to learn and memories more deeply the information that a particular content offers. They also help to absorb the knowledge unconsciously. Hence, Examinations also provide us with an opportunity to work hard, develop mental discipline, patience, creativeness, leadership,  improving writing caliber, learn the content by heart, by understanding it, not by mugging it up. Once the content is mugged up, it looses its importance unless the information that it carries is stored deeply in our mind. So understanding the content is the most important factor in terms of gaining knowledge and applying it in our next level. In current scenario when the syllabus is quite huge, it is important for all to prepare a healthy schedule to address one content at a time, understand it, check the loop holes, focus on the logical part and  write the content a multiple times to grasp the knowledge, as writing improves comprehension and critical thinking. Writing is basically the frame work of our communication. It is important to understand that without conducting examinations, students do not concentrate in their studies, hence the mental discipline is lost. Hence, my advice here to all the communities involved in the process of examinations, is not to fear the system but to address it logically. Take it in the healthy spirit, don’t load the children with the burden but find ways and means by making it more playful, more enjoyable, and more practical by focusing on cross learning, making mind maps, designating time hours, multiple patterns of a single question, relating the content with day today activities the child is into, etc. Don’t forget to given leap hour to a child on daily basis during examination to rejuvenate his interest in examinations. Boredom should be avoided to keep their interest alive. All the best!Ratna Kaul Bhardwaj

Technology based education will it solve the problem we are facing ?
 Venkatesh R
 9 May 2019

We can use Technology to provide education to children: We can give quality education by using the technology and by connecting to the globe, and where ever possible reuse the existing information.Use a commonplace for school, like the temple, church in absence of school.EDU-VAN for education: Mobile van will contain equipment like Computer, Mobiles, Mobile gadgets like memory card, Mobile/Radio charge outlet which will be used by the teacher and students. The mobile van can reach to the remote place and can be used to teach the students. The recorded media like pdf can be saved in the mobiles so this will serve as a textbook for children. The children can take the mobiles to their home and can learn. The usage of recorded media such as videos from youtube, how stuff works will help the children to learn at faster/own phase. Probably some rights are needed as these materials are been used by an organization. We need not invest a huge amount in mobiles there are many organizations that recycle the mobiles, with the advancement in technology probably we can get the recycled mobiles at a cheaper rate, and can have the recorded materials in it. Moreover, we need just a device to play media files and have pdf so that will not cost much.Google Hangout-based education: We can ask students from other countries, to provide online class sessions to the refugee camp students. If we can design a Time-Zone based Time Table, and by having collaboration with schools and colleges we can execute this idea. As a part of social service activity, points credit should be given to the students and teachers of various school, where they will be spending 2 to 3 hrs a week in teaching the children on their favorite subject. At the end of the session, the google hangout video will be available which can be used as recorded material and can be reused for clarifying doubts and refreshing the subject.Radio-Based Education: Still there are places which may not have enough electricity so we can use the radio in those places. 3 or 4 dedicated channel for education, where the subjects can be broadcasted repeatedly and weekly once. Children can attend the school (a common place like temple/ Van) and can get their doubts clarified. If that is not possible an interactive radio session can be conducted/Email based question-answer session can be conducted where the children can post their question to the staff/teacher they will send a mail to other teachers and will provide an answer.Bring Innovation in Teaching: In today's world innovation cannot be ignored, so even the teachers should keep learning, and should introduce new approaches in learning, there are many online free courses on creativity and Design labs. Which will be useful for teachers and students. So the teachers/students can enroll in those courses and can share their experiences. One such course is by Novo Education, Creativity course by Tina Selig https://novoed.com/creativity, where you get a chance to interact with professionals from various background. "Nothing can replace Experience, and when some shares it please absorb it!"Knowledge Sharing Session: Let the students learn through the recorded media, and let them be one day teacher. Where the student takes the class for other students, the idea is to improve their confidence and soft skills which are required for their future. In the advanced version of knowledge sharing the refugee students can take the class to the foreign students so they can overcome their fear.Advanced Skill Learning: We can use some mobiles to have an advanced skill set learning, which contains recorded materials on various subjects like "Languages, Photography, Journalism " etc let the student learn these skills through the recorded media. Then UNHCR can conduct a workshop on that subject based on the enrolled student's strength. The accelerated workshops and apprenticeship help them to achieve the job.Security Issue: One of the main reasons, girls avoid school is security reasons. If we can deliver the materials through recorded media through mobiles, we don't need even the internet, they can play the recorded materials and pdf at their own phase. They can clarify their doubt once or twice in a week when the Edu-Van reaches their place. "It's better to learn, than being taught." Moreover most of the girl's dropout during the secondary education and by using the animations we can teach them easily as the  "picture is worth more than a thousand words"!Divide and Conquer Education with informal discussion: Let the girls interact with each other, their neighbor/ friend let them learn one subject properly and share the learning with other girls in their locality.Time Management: When a girl becomes pregnant, or she has household responsibilities she cannot spend enough time in school, with the help of recorded media she can learn the things at a faster pace, and by giving 3-4 hours on the important subject she can achieve a good education. After a certain age " We can learn by our-self, but we need to invest ample time and confidence to achieve it.Advanced Skill Learning: We can use some mobiles to have advanced skillset learning, which contains recorded materials on various subjects like "Languages, Photography, Journalism " etc let the student learn these skills through the recorded media. Parents and Families: Parents should encourage their children to attend the technology-based school, as schooling is delivered to their home. So the security issue is been addressed. At the max, their children have to visit the EDU-VAN or Church-based school weekly once or twice. This is a chain reaction when one family follows it, others will start doing it.Communities: The communities can help in setting up the school in the church or other common places, and they have to spread the message that "By educating a girl they are educating their society" during the public gathering they need to spread the message of Technology based schooling and their advantages, such as their children has a good scope to get a job, quality education. So this encourages the parent to send them to school.Though all of these are thoughts can this be realized?
