Focus On Learning and Creating Rather Than Entertainment and Distraction
 Suchismita Sahu
 25 February 2018

An extraction from my reading experience, which converted me a writer. I cannot spend a single day without writing, even though I had to get up in the midnight to do it. Though, there is not much progress in my professional career now, but I feel writing converted me to an absolutely different personality. “Ordinary people seek entertainment. Extraordinary people seek education and learning.” -Benjamin Hardy Most people are distracted right now. They’re distracted while they’re at work. They’re distracted when they’re with family and friends. They’re distracted at the gym, on their commute, and even in the shower. The mediocre majority will continue going through life this way, never experiencing the fullness of a life filled with deep focus and purpose. Most people don’t prioritize learning and creating. They don’t care enough about any efforts to invest in their personal development and growth.Entertainment is more important. Most people have replaced achieving their life dreams and goals with TV, partying, and social media.Their life is characterized by entertainment and distraction, not learning and creating. As a result, they don’t have close relationships. They’re stuck in jobs they hate. Their life is on the fast-track to disappointment, and they don’t know what to do.Benjamin Hardy once said, “Entertainment and distraction is the enemy of creation and learning. They will keep you in mediocrity.”If you don’t want to end up living a life of mediocrity, focus on learning and education. It’s the fastest way to become extraordinary, wealthy, and successful. The Quality of Your Learning Determines the Quality of Your Success“Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is something you attract by the person you become.” -Hal ElrodYour income, relationships, and success are determined by your learning. Most people spend more money on entertainment and gadgets than self-education. This is why they remain poor and broke with superficial relationships. The quality of your learning and how much you invest in yourself directly determines the extent of your growth. In the words of Ryan Holiday:“The extent of the struggle determines the extent of the growth.”You are defined by what you’re willing to struggle for. Most people aren’t willing to really struggle for anything. They blindly accept what they’re given, and spend their free time disengaging from reality.Renowned motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said the most successful people in the world are always lifelong learners. They fully understand that their level of education directly determines their quality of life.“Formal education makes a living, but self-education makes a fortune,” Rohn explained. It’s not just about a college degree. Most of what you learn in college isn’t applicable to real-world success. It’s your self-education, the kind of learning that helps you develop into the next evolution of yourself. Most people will continue to go through life “in quiet desperation, with their songs left unsung.” Others dictate their income, their happiness, and their fulfillment. If you don’t want to end up with regret on your death-bed, choose self-education over entertainment.“You’ve got to wake up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.” George LarimerWe Attract the Things That Reflect Who We AreDarren Hardy, author of The Compound Effect, once told a story about how he ended up with his wife. When he was in his 20’s, he began compiling an enormous list of every attribute he wanted his future wife to have. He eventually filled 40 pages detailing the most exquisite and perfect match he could think of.At the end of his writing, he realized something very important:Any woman like that wouldn’t want to have anything to do with someone like him!Hardy realized he needed to become a far better version of himself to attract a woman like that. You must become a far better version of yourself to achieve the enormous success you want.Benjamin Hardy put it this way: “We attract into our lives what we are.” Ask yourself — if you want a million dollars, do you have the mindset of a millionaire? Do you have the financial knowledge and self-discipline to own that kind of money? Most people don’t, yet they continue complaining about being poor. You’ll never become a millionaire if you don’t become someone who could be a millionaire!Every day, millions of people attract mediocre opportunities into their lives — jobs, time investments, dating partners, etc. — not realizing they are attracting exactly who they are!Extremely successful people are magnets of extraordinary opportunities. They are individuals who gravitate towards success, because they are successful themselves. If you constantly engage in mediocre, subpar activities with toxic individuals, you’ll only receive similar opportunities. You’ll never experience the type of success of the world’s most extraordinary people, because success is something you attract by the person you become.“Every next level of your life will demand a different you.” -Leonardo DiCaprioStep Forward Into Growth or Backwards Into Security“It’s absurd that we would prioritize the hottest new device, the cool car, or trendy toy over owning that which makes us feel the most engaged and most alive.” -Neil PatelC.S. Lewis once described humans this way: “We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.”You do not have the luxury to “wait” to improve. Like an egg, you’ll either progress into a new version of yourself, or go rotten. There is no other way. Most people continue choosing security and safety over the choice to become the fullest version of themselves.Said Louis Sachar:“So, what’s it going to be — safety, or freedom? You can’t have both.”Right now, you have the choice — step forward into growth and development, or step backwards into safety and security. Most people step backward, slowly killing their chances to become extraordinary.Seth Godin once said, “The problem is that our culture has engaged in a Faustian bargain, in which we trade our genius and artistry for apparent stability.”The sad truth is: there’s no such thing as security. Money can be taken away (how many times have you heard of a multi-millionaire going bankrupt?). Our health could fail at any time. Millions of people are abruptly fired or laid off every year.Security isn’t real.We must choose to design our own life, and let go of our addiction to “apparent stability.” If you’ve traded your genius and creativity for “stability,” it’s time to get those back.“The goal of life is not to relax on the beach, sipping mojitos all day. The purpose is to find something you love that adds value to the world.” -Ben FoleyMost People Won’t Ever Experience True Success“The mediocre have a very narrow perception of reality, and in turn, their lives. They see things as they are, not how they can be.” -Ryan HolidayLearning and self-education aren’t popular. Most people don’t read books, attend seminars, or take even the most basic steps for self-improvement. They would rather choose distraction and entertainment. Most people will never be successful because they will spend their life this way. With just a few small changes to your life, you could enter into the top 5% — 10% of your field. The competition is extremely low! Amazing, extraordinary opportunities are abundant, because so few people ever take the steps to discover them. You can become one of the few truly successful people in the world by taking your self-education and learning seriously. In a world of mediocrity, you can become extraordinary with only a few simple tweaks. So how do you start? The more you keep evolving in better versions of yourself, the more you’ll need to be focused on the things that are most important.Your days must be characterized by high-quality activities and behaviors.Benjamin Hardy put it this way: “Success is continuously improving who you are, how you live, how you serve, and how you relate.”James Altucher once said, “Every day, check these 4 boxes: Have I improved 1% on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health?”You can start small. Even the smallest improvement is more than most people will ever see. While most people change slowly and unconsciously over time, you can begin taking control of your success by choosing to make a few small improvements. That’s all it takes. If You Want to Live an Extraordinary Life, You Need to Give Up a Normal One“If you want to live an extraordinary life, you have to give up many of the things that are part of a normal one.” -Srinivas RaoExtraordinary people are very uncommon. Their lifestyle of learning and self-education aren’t popular, either. Odds are, once you begin investing in yourself, you’ll find it’s a lonely road.Todd Henry wisely said, “The more bold you are, the more rejection you’ll experience.” The mob of the majority doesn’t like deserters. If you want an extraordinary life, you’ll need to give up many parts of the “normal” life. That might mean giving up common toxic behaviors or hanging out with toxic people. If “everyone does it,” you’d do well to give it a long, hard look. Most people will never achieve an extraordinary life. That’s OK. The extraordinary life isn’t for everyone. Learning and self-education take time, energy, and focus that most people would rather spend on entertainment and distraction — “ordinary” things.“Great” opportunities cost “good” ones; you can’t have both.Said Benjamin Hardy:Before you evolve, you can reasonably spend time with just about anyone. You can reasonably eat anything placed in front of you.You can reasonably justify activities and behaviors that are, frankly, mediocre. But as your vision expands, you realize you need to make adjustments. You can’t spend your money on junk anymore. You need to manage your time much more diligently. You need to invest in yourself and your future. To avoid mediocrity, you can’t continue being with negative people. You can’t keep eating crappy foods that slow you down. You can’t do many of the things you used to do.This is what extraordinary requires. Most people see the price and simply say “no thanks.”But you can do anything if you pay the price.“Every skill you acquire doubles your odds of success.” -Scott AdamsIn Conclusion“Who you are is a result of who you were, but where you end up depends entirely on who you choose to be from this moment forward.” -Hal ElrodThere are probably dozens of things you do on a daily basis that aren’t helping you improve. Most people live their lives on other people’s terms. Their days are spent working on other people’s goals and following the rules of someone else.Entertainment and distraction rule society. There will never be a shortage of TV shows, Buzzfeed articles, or Bad Lip Reading videos to take up your time.If you want to avoid mediocrity and achieve enormous success, you must cut out distractions and prioritize learning instead. Most people will go their whole lives as a slave to entertainment. They prioritize entertainment over improving their life, their family’s well-being, and their hopes and dreams. This is how people can stay at jobs they hate for years. It’s how people stay in toxic relationships and remain perpetually broke. They don’t bother learning how to succeed. If your lifestyle does not add to your growth and improvement, it will bring you down.Prioritize learning. Invest in self-education.Choose success over mediocrity.

You: An unseen, unspoken force

It wont be wrong if I say that 2017 was a time period, in which I explored myself with many such qualities which were hindering my self-exploration since my birth. On particular rough days, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days, so far is 100% and that’s pretty good. I welcomed a new morning by forgiving everyone, who were the cause of my all these days. Inner peace began, the moment I chose not to allow another event or person or the complete world to control my emotion. When I realized this, I started accepting some of my qualities such as stubbornness, emotional, introvert and caring in a positive way, because of which I had suffered my life in a negative way. I stopped explaining myself, when I realized people only understand from their level of perception. So, I was able to completely come out from the ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ attitude. Me, Myself and My writings… that’s all got at the end.I thank to everyone who were my co-passengers of this journey, my toastmaster family, my Trifecta family, my office colleagues and at last but not the least, my own family, my tiny fishes, flower plants and my cute pug…A special thank goes to you who taught me about meditation and encouraged me to follow my passion. Though some of your words were pinching me like the prickles of a cactus, but I tried to go to the depth of those and took a challenge to make you realize next time that the time has come for you to throw one more prickle word towards me. Thanks for all the comments which were coming from an unspoken and unseen energy, pushing me to climb another step up of the ladder of my life,.Going to start a new year with again some unexpected, unwanted and not much encouraging circumstances. Again, let’s see, how the year 2018 is becoming one more milestone in my self-exploration.

Snake Repellant

One day, I saw a snake's skin near the window of my office room. I ran to my desk, sat keeping my legs up in the chair and started telling my teammates that i saw a snake's skin. They laughed at me and said these are very common here!!! Snakes are like our friends. Without telling anything, I kept quite and started working myself. Next day morning, i saw the infrastructure admin in my office room. I could not resist and started asking "Uncle, can my desk be shifted to Helix, which is near to the office gate?"Admin: "Why Mam? Why do you want to shift?"Myself: "No, I am scared!!!"Admin: "Of what?Myself: "Of snakes!!!"Admin: "Dont worry mam. Snakes wont come inside your office room."😊Myself: "what is the guarantee that they wont come inside? Many are roaming in the surrounding of office room!"Admin:"I am assuring you that they will never come inside of this office room".Myself:"How can you be so sure?"Admin: "Because we don't provide access card to anyone who are not our employees and snakes are not our employees. They dont have access card, so they cannot come inside!!!"😊😊Myself: "Yes, I agree. They can come inside when someone will open the door."Admin: "Tailgating is prohibited in our organisation!"😊Myself: "But, space-tailing is there! They can come inside through the 1" space gap between the floor and the door."Admin: "Mam, you can use this snake repellent, while you are inside this room"Myself: "OMG!!! where I came! I need to use snake repellent to work in the office!!!"😮

The Timeless Link Between Writing and Running and Why It Makes for Better Work
 Suchismita Sahu
 26 February 2018

There is a lot of mythology about a writer’s life and routine, and very little of it is true. It’s one reason why that famous misquote from Hemingway is so popular, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”If Hemingway ever did say such a thing, his meticulously edited, and ironically, handwritten manuscript pages at the John F. Kennedy Library speak much more loudly. There are some 47 alternative endings for Hemingway’sA Farewell To Arms, written by his hand alone. Hemingway rewrote the first part of the book, by his own count, more than 50 times.In truth, like many ventures, writing is a long hard slog. It’s more akin to a marathon of effort than a sprint of inspiration. Not that writing is a miserable profession. It isn’t. If one learns to cope with it properly, it’s quite wonderful and any who gets to do it for a living is blessed. But the coping is key. For many writers, that coping comes in a form rather appropriate to the analogy I gave above: Writers cope with writing by running. My routine goes something like this: After the hectic office hour, I begin to slow down and eventually become stuck. Accepting that any more time spent would be throwing good effort after bad, I change, put on my running shoes, and go for a run.Depending on whether I’m writing from my home or my office, my run will be one of a few prescribed courses. I run because I love it. Because it’s good exercise. It’s the only exercise I’ve ever really been good at.. But I run for another reason, the same reason that many writers apparently run: it makes me better at my job. There are many writers who run. Of course, there is Murakami, who in addition to his beautiful fiction, is best known in the running community for his book What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. Malcolm Gladwell has been a competitive runner since high school (and recently told Tim Ferriss that he begins every morning by checking out Letsrun.com. Novelist Don DeLillo told the Paris Review how after writing for four hours, he goes running to “shake off one world and enter another.” Joyce Carol Oates, in her ode to running, said that “the twin activities of running and writing keep the writer reasonably sane and with the hope, however illusory and temporary, of control.” Lawrence Block, creator of the Matthew Scudder series was not only an avid runner, but a competitive walker too (more on that in a minute).Professional writers quickly learn one reality of the job: you have more bad days than good. It’s the rare day that the writer finds that the words come out exactly the way they were in their head. In fact, it’s usually the opposite — one is disappointed, distracted, struggling, committed but unproductive. It’s a special day when the flow is pure and uninterrupted, when one doesn’t stop somewhere short of where they’d like to be.But exercise — especially running — is the opposite. A run is almost always good, and if you don’t take your phone, hardly ever interrupted. If you set out to run five miles and five miles is within your capabilities, you will accomplish that goal. It’s rare that one leaves their house for a run and somehow doesn’t make it back. In this way, running is predictable, dependable, satisfying and thus a counterbalance for the mercurial muses of the creative professional. The writer Shelby Foote, who I gather from the copious of images of him in a bathrobe, slippers and smoking a pipe, wasn’t much for running, once joked about all the things he discovered for his books “while looking for something else.” As a researcher, I can attest to that. As a runner, I can also say that most of my biggest breakthroughs as a writer came after I had stopped writing and gone running. There’s no race, there’s only a runnerJust keep one foot in front of the otherAs a runner, the real race is getting up and running every single day. Life is the marathon. The same is true in writing. A lot of people sit down to write a book. Many don’t make it past that point. Plenty get something finished, but are intimidated by the maze that is publishing, promoting, selling. And of the relative few that make it through there, only some have the stamina to start the next one. To make it a career.Murakami once described running as “both exercise and a metaphor.” This is true. The life of a running writer is marathon within a marathon within a marathon. The training and the participation in each one of these races makes us better at the other. He also said, in an interview a few years ago:“Without a solid base of physical strength, you can’t accomplish anything very intricate or demanding. That’s my belief. If I did not keep running, I think my writing would be very different from what it is now.”This has always been true, even before our modern culture of exercise. Diogenes Laertes in his famous Lives of Eminent Philosophers tells us that the philosopher Chrysippus trained as a long distance runner before he discovered Stoicism. One can only imagine the influence this training had on Chrysippus, and how it put him in a position to understand a philosophy based on self-discipline, inner-control and endurance. The saying in the ancient world was that “But for Chrysippus, there had been no Porch.” (the stoa in stoicism) But for many miles of running, would there have been a Chrysippus? There are plenty more philosophers, writers, and poets who have found the same benefits in not just in running but in walking. For centuries, thinkers have walked many miles a day because they had to, because they were bored, because they wanted to escape the putrid cities they lived in, because they wanted to get their blood flowing. In the process they discovered an important side-effect: it helped them make better work. As Nietzsche would later say: “It is only ideas gained from walking that have any worth.” Thoreau, another avid walker, claimed, “the moment my legs begin to move my thoughts begin to flow.”Lawrence Block, a prodigious writer and author of more than a hundred books, traded in marathons for day long distance walking races in his 60s. This activity, he says, is quite similar creative process. He told screenwriter Brian Koppelman on Slate’s The Moment, “either writing or distance walking would be a bad idea for someone who doesn’t have much of an inner-life.” The novelist Helen Dunmore gave The Guardian a list of rules for creating fiction. The best one? “A problem with a piece of writing often clarifies itself if you go for a long walk.”

Myths about Highly Sensitive Personality
 Suchismita Sahu
 3 March 2018

"You are too sensitive!"The countless times of this review made me to analyze, synthesize and redefine my personality.High sensitivity is a misunderstood trait. As a highly sensitive person (HSP) myself, I’ve felt insecure in the past about my empathic, thoughtful nature. Luckily, society’s perception of sensitivity is changing, thanks in part to the growing acceptanceneuro-diversity—the idea that neurological variation among people is normal. When you think of the most successful person you know, what qualities do they embody? It’s likely you’re wowed by their ingenuity and creative problem-solving skills. Or maybe you’re impressed by their emotional intelligence and ninja-like ability to connect with people. These are just a few qualities of highly sensitive people (or HSPs), who make up about 20 percent of the population. Despite popular belief, sensitive people make great leaders. They’re consistently rated as top performers. HSPs tend to be well-liked by managers and appreciated for their commitment, even if they get on their co-worker’s nerves from time to time. Some of this diverse group of “famous” individuals that — in my opinion — might appropriately belong on the list of those who exhibit the characteristics of high sensitivity would include Scientists: Albert Einstein, Carl Jung and Charles Darwin, Sir Isaac Newton, Thomas Alva Edison  to political leaders: Abraham Lincoln, Harry S. Truman, Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Eleanor Roosevelt and Princess Diana, today’s celebrities: Mandy Moore, Adrien Brody, Glenn Close, Eddie Murphy, Joaquin Phoenix, Nicole Kidman, Kevin Kline, Winona Ryder and Elijah Wood, to name a few Artists: Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali, Georgia O’Keefe, Picasso, Frida Kahlo and Frank Lloyd Wright, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Elton John, Alanis Morissette, Neil Young, Jim Morrison.Singer/song writer Jewel in her famous “I’m Sensitive” song, sings: “So please be careful with me, I’m sensitive And I’d like to stay that way. I have this theory, that if we’re told we’re bad Then that’s the only idea we’ll ever have…”Being sensitive is a superpower, but if not managed properly, it can turn into a stumbling block. Navigating the world as a highly sensitive person involves special considerations, as does loving, working, or living with an HSP.1: The Secret Life of a Highly Sensitive Person And why the trait can actually be an advantage: Applying Your Highly Sensitive Strengths HSPs are masters of emotional intelligence. They pick up on subtleties that less sensitive people miss and have a keen ability to read between the lines. Believe it or not, HSPs can be great entrepreneurs and marketers precisely because they tend to be so skilled at building rapport, listening, and empathizing.2. HSPs are conscientious: Details, structure, and organization are their jam. Because they are accustomed to processing a lot of input, they easily come up with plans and solutions for complex problems, which is an invaluable asset. HSPs can also concentrate deeply and adore getting lost in ideas. This make us perfectly positioned for success in an era where deep work matters.3. HSPs are innovative. Some of the world’s best artists include HSPs. Why? Pair heightened sensory processing with a rich inner experience and you have a group of people neurologically wired to create. So, lean into your curiosity, ask questions that rock the status quo, and explore your whims. It’s what separates you from others who are too afraid to think big.4. HSPs are multi-passionate.They care about their work, their relationships, and it shows. HSPs are usually intelligent trailblazers who find ways to uniquely combine their varied interests into satisfying careers that have impact on the world.Thriving as a Sensitive Person Are there downsides to possessing this innate trait? Of course. But with some forethought and intention, they can employ their high sensitivity as their greatest strength. Get more comfortable with feedback. Most highly sensitive people, despite being good communicators, don’t fare well when caught off guard in meetings or presentations. Similarly, one critical comment may shake them for days or weeks. If you’re an HSP, get ready for high-stakes interactions by anticipating questions that may arise. 5. Don’t react—respond.Life doesn’t always go according to script, and as an HSP, you need to hone your resilience skills in response to surprises. To curb panic and emotional flooding, practice putting space between the triggering event and your response to it.6. Be bullish with boundaries. As a highly sensitive person, it’s essential to conserve your energy. You spend the day picking up on the feelings and moods of your peers. If these interactions skew negative, they can leave you feeling drained. Noisy, busy environments (even bad music—yes, seriously) also take a toll on HSPs.Simple shifts can make a big difference. Try getting to the office early so you can have some quiet working time before the hustle and bustle of the day takes holds. I put a 15-to-30-minute buffer between all meetings to ensure I have time to decompress.Managing your energy effectively comes down to creating solid boundaries and paying close attention to the inputs you allow into your life. Limit time with toxic people, be careful about the media you consume, and be bullish about self-care. If you demand a lot from yourself (which most HSPs do), then building in periods for rest and recovery is nonnegotiable.Tips for Loving or Working with an HSP: Highly sensitive people make loyal partners and great leaders, that much we know. But truthfully, loving, living with, or working alongside an HSP isn’t always easy. You can’t (and shouldn’t try) to change them. But you can inspire and support them in simple ways:If you work with an HSP:Keep them in the loop with frequent updates and clear information. HSPs tend to have a high input orientation, so the more they know, the better. When possible, let them prepare. Give them the meeting agenda ahead of time.Focus on coaching instead of criticizing. Details are an HSP strength, so provide ultraspecific steps for improvement.Honor their hunches. Value intuition as part of your HSP’s decision-making process.2. If you love an HSP:Build quiet time and solitude into your shared schedule.Expect insomnia. HSPs sometimes struggle to sleep soundly because they have active minds.Be patient with them during confrontation. If they need space, don’t take it personally.Above all, whether you’re a co-worker, a sibling, or a spouse, try to appreciate the unique set of characteristics an HSP possesses as best you can. There can be a sharp learning curve, but ultimately, you will both see how high sensitivity can shape your worlds for the better.

Below is my script, which I had delivered in my club level contest of Toastmaster International speech contest. For the knowledge of the readers, I would like to say that Toastmasters International (TI) is a US headquartered nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. Writing stories and writing scripts for speeches are two different things. In speeches, the speaker has to take the challenge to involve her audience throughout the speech and she has to communicate everything within 7 mins of her talk. Audience may lose interest if the opening is not good and if the script timing goes beyond 7 mins, then audience may feel bored. So, this script provides some guidelines to a speaker.... Hope the readers will enjoy it:Title: The phoenixOpening:4th Jan1986, Odisha, a girl was born with lots of dreams in her eyes. Dreams to be the best daughter to her parents  …. Dreams to be the best Engineer the world has ever seen….dreams to bring a change in the nation …. Dreams to do the best of her life …. N  Dreams to be a wonderful wife……………………Everything was going fine as planned until 2014 when this girl caught a disease ………….. her dreams started dying, her faith in love started dying, her trust for her parents started losing and worst of all , she even thought of ending it……Eventually After 2 years of struggle  that sweet innocent girl ……died a suffocating death.Body:Good afternoon Honorable Contest Chair, fellow toastmasters and dear guests. In one of those chilly evening on November 2016, she was reborn as an independent woman with self-respect, one who takes her own decisions ……4 years back, life had put her at a turning point where one decision that she took made her disgrace for everyone……… worse even disgrace to her parents. What was that one wrong decision that changed her life………….? What was that disease that killed her happiness…??Her mistake was she decided to say no to domestic violence after marriageShe decided to not tolerate her drunkard husband’s beatings every night, she decided to not tolerate her father in law stopping her to talk to her family members, she decided not to ask her parents for more dowry, she decided not to tolerate her mother in law’s giving her high voltage electric shocks. She had lost her mental peace and freedom, which had huge negative impact on her professional career. How difficult to bear all those? How painful those moments were?? Losing individuality and living means a spiritless life with a moving physical body, that means you are living like a dead body!!!When she looked back to get the ANegative Situation Wisely Experiencing Reversal she could see that she had very little control over what happened. The seasons of her experience had to run their course – severe winter storms, cold and darkness, then the seeds hidden from within started beginning to sprout (very exciting!). The best she could do was ride the waves, which she did with varying degrees of success. She saved all her strength to swim with the tide and to flow with the grace that washed through her days, raising all her quills to defend against invaders. She took this on faith. All she used is a pair of eyes unblinkered by fear, apprehension and prejudice. Fighting with herself went on in each and every moment, hour and day, to come out from her demon created by herself since her birth. To come out from the attitude to care about ‘what will people say?’Transformation was not sweet and bright. It was dark, murky, painful and pushing. A practice in facing our own created demons.  A complete uprooting, before becoming. She turned her demons into art, her fears into fuel, her mistakes into teachers and her weaknesses into reasons to keep us fighting. She did not waste her pain, instead recycled her heart!!!Situation in life might had defeated her, burnt her, insulted her, injured her and abandoned us. But,  they will not, shall not and cannot destroy her, like a Phoenix she knows how to surrect. Lakshmi Agarwal, JK Rowling, Muniba Mazari and many more are the phoenixes who emerges from the ashes….Now, after 4 yrs, she can see herself as an independent woman who spreads her messages on how to fight with themselves among those women who try to commit suicide due to various reasons whether she is a rape survivor or has become physically disabled and lost her confidence to live her life. She says them “We do not need magic to transform our world. We carry all of the power we need inside ourselves already. The world is full of wonderful things you havenot seen yet. Don’t ever give the chance of seeing them. You are not a victim, you are a survivor. The man who attacked you will cover his face. You wont. While we women get busy in playing our predefined roles, we forget to love ourselves, we forget our worth and we don’t realize that there is so much more we can do for ourselves and for the people around us.”Conclusion:Ladies and Gentlemen,As said by Lao Tzu “New beginnings are disguised as painful endings.”What’s perceived as painful and undesirable, often paves the way for something better – and if not better, at least different. In difference, lies life’s momentum and progress. Traumatic occurrences always have a disguised positive side to them. Hidden opportunities make us more determined and fills us with life-preserving energy. Until we’re jolted out of our peaceful slumber, no epoch event can be expected to happen.Desire changes Nothing, Decision changes Something. But Determination changes Everything.Desire changes Nothing, Decision changes Something. But Determination changes Everything.Over to Emcee…

After gathering some courage, I told the doctor “Sir. Bad news first”.“This is not to dishearten you, but according to your reports your weight is going out of control now. Your body is blowing like a balloon. You are overweight by 25 kg!” Hearing this, first tear broke free from my eyes, the rest followed in an unbroken stream.Trying to console me, the doctor said “Darling. There is a good news too. This disease of obesity which is haunting you now is totally curable. You are very lucky to be diagnosed well on time. It would have been very difficult if you showed during the final stage”. I was amazed at the doctor’s wonderful statement about my life-threatening disease!!! I collected my reports & walked back home. What is the reason of getting more and more of those tiny creatures, who live in my closet and sew my clothes a liitle bit tighter every night…calories? Then the coolest place of my house having food carrying capacity of 10 peoples…my refrigerator gave a smile at me!!! whenever i lose some weight, i used to get it back in my refrigerator!!!I wish losing weight would be as easier for me as losing my keys, watch, hair rubber band, temper & even mind.” Instead of blaming myself my heart said “Dear, You are not overweight, you are just under tall!!!”.Then, I decided to have a fight between food & me. Everything is fair in love & war & this was a war. I had to win. “A healthy diet for a healthy body”, “You are what you eat”, “Whatever your problem is, your answer is not in fridge” I collected all motivational quotes for dieting & started placing them on my cupboard, my room walls, even on my refrigerator door. Then I started googling “How to lose weight”. There were unbelievable suggestions. A kind lady in one of her articles claimed that she lost 20 pounds in a month by writing 3 pages daily. So, my dear dispirited plumpy audience, you can imagine who is the inspiring hero behind my becoming a blogger!!!I try to remove all things those make me fat…like scales, mirrors and photographs!!! Conclusion: Dear mirthless TMs, rejected Guests and long faced Judges!!!After a passionate, enthusiastic follow up of my diet plan, the day of test match came, when I had to attend a big fat wedding party. Sweets were looking mesmerized in many colorful, fancy dresses. A dark red cherry was smiling at me sitting on the top of triple story frosted cake.“New body is under construction. Please let me go.” I turned backwards only to see hot, delicious, mouthwatering chocolate sizzler on the table. The enemy was very strong & well equipped, while I was handling an unequipped one-woman army. I fall prey to my food desire. “Dear my favorite foods. Things are not going to work between us. It’s not me. It’s you. You are detrimental, disastrous and deleterious!!!” I lie on the floor completely dead for few minutes. I stood up & I rushed to the front table, where a range of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and unsalted seeds, nuts were kept!!! The toughest part of DIET is not watching what you eat. Its watching what other people eat!!! But! I had conquered all the toughest parts related to DIET. So dear friends, how many of you is having courage to hate all the enemies related to DIET and to say  ”Good Bye Dear, I don’t want you in my life anymore!!!”

Priyanka, A Savior Girl.....

 20 March 2018

It was 15th March. On her way to Ganesh market, Priyanka found a poor puppy that was passing through the middle of the road and at the same time a girl from opposite side, just came with her two-wheeler and was about to hit that puppy. But Suddenly Priyanka threw everything, jumped and took that puppy away but unfortunately, that two-wheeler hit her that brought her many injuries CV. Still, she forgot about her and curiously searched that puppy and asked the nearby public, “if the puppy is okay if it needs medical help …..”The Puppy raised it's head without making any voice and looked at Priyanka because it was really asking for help. Priyanka was worried about that puppy wherever she herself was badly injured by that two-wheeler. Priyanka reached home with many injuries. After seeing her in such condition, her Mumma badly cried as she was loving her a lot. Dady also came from work and called a doctor to home….her friends came to see her … and all were angry as well as made her fun by saying why she was going to save such a street sided puppy..! But no one was able to read her heart …! In real when Priyanka met that puppy, it had no such name tag or belt tied around its neck. Then It was very dirty and thin but instead of all, it was also very cute. She thought it is a stray dog but unknowingly she went and saved the puppy! Wanted to take it and make it a normal, healthy, happy, Puppy which in reality gives her an opportunity to give life, which was never…..!Priyanka sometimes says "I honestly believe that God sees these creatures being seen by animals as to how anyone can spend in human form! If You have performed well and we must hope that a lot of People will go ahead and learn from you...This is one of the reasons that she comes forward to save them, because dogs are the best friends of humans, and as she said being a valuable animal to get a good life….# Umasankar Sahu #smblogcontest

Why it takes a long time to post a Whitepaper

Writing a white paper is a long process. It can take 20-40 hours for a professional writer to create a single medium length paper—and that’s working on it full time. When you’re a subject matter expert working on other projects at the same time—all bets are off.Why does it take so long to write a white paper?Well, first of all, it doesn’t take everyone that long. I’ve talked to other professional writers who take considerably less time. The issue then becomes how close do you want the writer to come on the first draft. If the writer doesn’t take enough time up front, you may have to pay at the back end by going through multiple rounds of revisions with them. What goes into creating a paper that hits the mark by the first—or at most second—draft?A good paper requires considerable research (or deep subject matter expertise) to provide context and the writer must work hard to tell a cohesive story. The Need for ResearchWhenever I start a white paper, I interview the client to get basic information, including the audience, the goals of the project, the one key message the client wants readers to remember, and the key supporting messages (which usually relate to the benefits of the solution being described). My job as the writer is to flesh out these high-level messages into something that leads the reader to understand why the problem is important and what steps can be taken to solve it. This involves the following:Providing context. People don’t know what they don’t know. To get them to read more, you need to start where they are. Describe some issue that they can relate to, and then lead them into a discussion of something they hadn’t considered related to that issue. For a white paper, this usually means starting with a description of a key strategic issue that the target audience faces. For example, the paper might address a new regulation that has an industry quaking in its boots.I recently wrote a white paper for a company that helps hospitals comply with audits from Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance companies. Targeting hospital audit managers, operations managers and CFOs, this paper documented the prospect of an exponentially increasing number of audits that are arising due to the success of Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) audits. This particular paper quoted the rising number of audits faced by one medical center. In other cases, I use quotes from high-profile industry analysis, such as the Gartner Group or Forrester Research to document a trend.Opening the knowledge gap. Once you’ve described a problem the reader already knows they have, you can describe a new area where they have a gap in their knowledge. In a white paper that talks about a technology solution, this often means describing what’s missing in existing solutions that customers/readers may already be using. Again, this can require considerable research to adequately describe these problems.Providing context around the solutions. Once you give people a clear idea of the problems they face and why existing solutions don’t truly address those problems, you can then begin to introduce your take on the solution. And yet, as you discuss different aspects of the solution, you still need to provide enough context so they can understand you.For example, if I’m writing a white paper on how an ERP solution improves productivity, I might discuss how it centralizes data from throughout the organization and how it automates business processes. I would need to provide the additional context to explain how data was not stored centrally before and what problems that caused (i.e. the need to constantly rekey information into multiple systems, which is a time-consuming and error-prone process).Providing context is time consuming. Even though I have an extensive background in many types of hardware and application software, it’s important to include the most up-to-date information, including the very latest trends as they apply to a particular industry, role or buyer persona. That can take considerable time sifting through trade-industry articles and interviews to understand the full story. Finding proof points from industry analysis can be time consuming—again because not only must the research be on topic, it also must be timely.Even providing context about the individual benefits of a relatively generic solution can take a fair amount of effort. I like to find several sources to ensure that I understand each issue completely and can describe it fully to my readers. The Art of Good WritingThe second time-consuming aspect of writing white papers is assembling contextual information in a way that makes sense for the reader and compels them to read further:Tell a coherent story. You can’t just include blobs of content. People want to read a story with a beginning, middle, and an end. Usually for thought-leadership papers that educate potential customers at the awareness phase of the sales cycle, the story will need to include the following:A beginning that describes a problem that our fearless reader needs to solve. In a white paper, this is usually a business condition that the customer must overcome if he or she is to succeed in meeting business goals. For example, the business challenge might be an uncertain economy that is leading the CFO to clamp down on IT budgetsThe middle will often describe obstacles in the way of our fearless reader solving that problem. For example, say your paper is on tape-backup consolidation. Here’s where you can talk about why current tape-backup systems contribute to inefficiency in the business. The end is where the reader is introduced to a solution to their problem. Here’s where you talk about all the ways tape-backup consolidation improves efficiency.Tell the reader why you’ve included each section of the paper. Not only must the paper attempt to tell a story, it must make the different parts of the story obvious. You need to include an executive summary telling readers up front what the paper will be about (so they can decide whether or not they want to read it). You need to introduce each section. As I draft the rough versions of my papers, I often use subheads that state the purpose of each section—problem, obstacles, solution, benefits etc.—so I keep them clear in my own mind as I’m writing. Only when the draft is 95% complete do I change the subheads to more clearly represent the actual content of the paper. I might change a section called “The Challenge” to one called, “The Need to Improve Efficiency.”Eliminate anything that doesn't contribute to the story. One risk of doing a lot of research is that while you’ll gather a great deal of information that’s important as background, but that won’t necessarily apply to the topic at hand. When you go to write the paper, however, you need to be ruthless about cutting anything out that doesn’t directly contribute to your story or the reader will get confused. For example, in my white paper-editing example, a key topic was the future of business intelligence. Yet, in many places, the paper wandered into a discussion of the Internet. While it’s fine in this context to talk about how the proliferation of Internet use will impact business intelligence, I cut out all references to how the Internet impacts telephony. So in answer to the initial question, the reason white papers can be time consuming to write is that you must do your homework to get the context necessary to explain the issues thoroughly and then you need to craft a single, coherent story that includes only relevant information.
