  1. Your book explores awakening within everyday life, how would you describe “awakening” in simple terms for someone new to spirituality?

Awakening in simple terms is, to know that you are existing in the form of wave too other than particle. Now the process to learn the way of living in the form of energy begins, some for rapidly under the guidance of Guru or some in the process of life and death slowly, according to their individual timeline or story.

After Awakening, one can see a clear difference between the witness and the one who is being witnessed. One can listen and observe their own thoughts. And there are many minute things you can get to know through the book itself.

  1. How did your understanding of love evolve through your spiritual journey?

When snigdha witnessed, that there was only “I” in the thoughts and the focus in the mind to process what is happening, he “Sukrit” who could see, that she could not understand it now, that “I” is not love, he still brought up the child the witness hiding in plain sight to teach life, by answering all her questions, all her doubts and most importantly he taught to see inside. To pull the eyes inward is the most difficult task one can change in someone who is unaware of the terms of observation.

That teaching, that effort irrespective of what is present in Snigdha for these long years, he continued, and this taught her through experience and observation, this is what love is. Love is present in the very nature of the soul, the being in the presence itself. Not as a moment, but as being. Always present.

  1. Do you think spiritual growth can happen without a partner, or does a mirror like Sukrit accelerate it?

Yes, everyone is experiencing their own Spiritual growth in their life, consciously or unconsciously. But In case of Snigdha, if I answer to this question. Then the answer is very simple, a Big “NO”. without his presence, it was impossible to learn anything.

Because for a girl like her, who could only learn and process life through presence, means through lived action and experience. Other than that, nothing could enter her.

So, transmission, teaching, guidance and care went hand in hand for her growth to self- knowledge and duties to inculcate in life by the rules of the matrix. We call it Santana Dharma, a way of living.

  1. Was there ever a moment where you resisted the transformation? What did that resistance look like?

Every moment, felt like a resistance. The hold to the patterns, belief systems and the on going way of life was strong. I think that stubborn character of hers tested his patience a million times. The resistance had many faces, ways and stories. The resistance was the control of the genetics that is bestowed upon you through this body. It was the hardest to tackle. Because everyone learns through observation. So, to change the very root of that pattern, voice intonation, speaking and the analysis the ways of the old personality. All came in the way like small hurdles; he took hold of her hand and kept pulling her ahead. No stopping, only moving forward and unlearning.

  1. Were there any parts of the story you found difficult to put into words?

Yes, when the thin line of the witness (author) and the character snigdha became one while writing, it became difficult. Because according to her guru, the “I” must not surface in the intentions while writing. So, she had to work on that “I” and then she could progress for the next line.

  1. What is one misconception about spirituality that you hope this book breaks?

That spirituality is a line, like a profession one can force onto one. Spirituality is nothing but truth, actions with alignment. As the soul matures, spirituality itself knocks at their door. This book, reveals the misconceptions about what is love, who is a true Guru, what is action, what is observation and how to train that ego. What is desire and how the mind plays. What is intellect, sometimes through direct transmission of wisdom, this journey was like a research and development on everything a new seeker learns about Spirituality, about the working of the body, mind and then the soul.

The story of death of ego again and again in middle of the games and the observation Sukrit curated to teach Snigdha.

So that she finds the freedom, which a guru wants for his disciple while living her life with right actions.

  1. If a reader takes away just one message from your book, what would you want it to be?

Love begins from surrender.

  1. Silence seems to be a strong presence in your journey, what has silence taught you that words never could?

It was never silence; it was rather a continuous flow of presence. Sukrit’s actions and his directions were so strong, that it defied the need of words sometimes. It is what’s happening around. And without silence one cannot absorbs it all.

  1. Kundalini awakening is often misunderstood; how would you describe it beyond the mysticism?

It is misunderstood, because it can be understood by the one who is experiencing it. A square does not know what a cube is? Just like that Kundalini is supposed to be misunderstood. Without Guru, one should never force themselves into the path of Kundalini Yog. A very twisted, highly intellectual path which need strict control, care and guidance of a Guru, who is fully awakened or at least awakened till the third eye chakra. A guru must see everything and knows everything about the disciple. Because there are different paths, and especially the spine which decides the whole foundation of Kundalini Yog.

  1. How did your perception of femininity evolve through this journey?

By developing the masculine, and training the mind to observe. Witness nature of the body and the mind being enacted in front of her, which became the mirror because at first she looked outward.

Like a movie based on Snigdha played by Sukrit her Guru. He was never silent, but a true mirror. When snigdha saw her own reflections, silence arrived. And masculine in snigdha understood what is her feminine is.
