Here, during this fair a no. of cattle like sheep, camels, goats, cows & other domestic livestock animals are being traded in a huge amount. In addition to this, animals are decorated lavishly to take out grand parades. Although different types of cattle are traded yet camels remain at the top in the trading list.

Rituals At The Fair

A holy Hindu pilgrimage, the Pushkar Fair held for a week to 10 days from Ekadashi to Kartik Purnima.  People (pilgrims) who travel to Pushkar come to take a holy dip in the Lake of Pushkar & offer religious prayers/ offerings to almighty deity, Lord Brahma. Many rituals are performed at the fair including bathing at the Pushkar Lake, and many others.  This is the only temple of deity in the country that makes it an important pilgrimage tourist spot for the religious faith/ believes.
