Both my parents being from Science background, I had little to zero clues about the field of my interest, i.e. literature. Now that I had stepped into this field, I knew I'd have to research a LOT. Continuing on my research spree, I decided to do an internship during my first summer break in college. This was when I found out about StoryMirror. One of my mother's colleagues had told her about this company.
StoryMirror is basically an online platform for aspiring writers to publish their work or launch their books. One can also read and purchase books through this platform. I applied for the place of a content writer for the duration of 2 months, which was how long my summer breaks were going to last.
My first day, quite contrary to my expectations, was a lot of fun. The people I had to work with for 2 months, were very welcoming and supportive. The team of StoryMirror is a bunch of talented people who work hard to make this company, that started in early 2015, a success. I never thought I'd get to learn so much in a couple of months. I found Deven sir, the CEO of StoryMirror, to be a man of high ambitions and throughout, he was very approachable and had created a transparent and friendly work environment for all the employees. Every person in that company had some or the other thing to 0ffer when it came to working. I got to learn something new every day from each and every person around me. Raj sir, Amneet sir, Rahul sir, Kunal sir, Sonam ma'am, Urvashi ma'am and others helped me at every point and taught me so much (Although, they hated the fact that I called them sir/ma'am :p). The fact that they were all in their mid-twenties made communication with them more efficient.
I truly believe I spent those 2 months of my internship in a very productive manner. Every day was a new challenge but it was a lot easier with people guiding me. This was my first first-hand encounter with the corporate, professional world and I must say, StoryMirror made me love it.
