millennials and gandhism

In history of mankind, many great men have come and left their imprints on people’s life, but gandi was different, his action, strong intents and deeds have inspired lot of people, his principles are accepted worldwide.

Gandhiji gave two golden formulas to not only india but to the whole mankind, truth and non-violence. He lived his whole life following this two terms only, and we now call it gandhism.

In childhood we all have heard this example, “If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also.” And now a days if one does so we say “aaya bada gandhivadi” and we’ll slap him on another cheek too, new generation is fond of violence to get something they want. Once gandhiji said “I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent”. And there is no alternative to non-violence.

This generation-z doesn’t actually believe in gandhism, this is the generation of feminism, gandhi said truth and non-violence are keys to the healthy nation, we say we need equality, according to gandhism equality is must for nation’s growth, equality brings fairness, but truth is no one wants to be treated equally, everyone need more. Gandhiji said once “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.” And there is no alternative to equality.

Gandhian says “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” In the era of killing and ruling best thing one can do is helping others. “prem seva se paoge tum par”, And there is no alternative to selfless service.

Gandhian says “You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” New generation believe being cool and bold is good, being rude is a fashion, attitude is some fancy jewellery. They don’t realise humanity is the best ornament one can wear, helping people is the best trend and being polite is never off fashion. But there is no alternative to humanity.

Gandhian says “Truth stands, even if there be no public support. It is self-sustained” you can’t find a single person who has never spoke a lie before, we say “a lie spoken for good deed isn’t a lie”, but other side of the coin is you can never hide truth, the wall which is made of bricks of lie can never stand for long. Truth is god and truth never damages, truth surely wins but truth asks for patience and faith, it took gandhiji more than 30 years to win the freedom fight. But millennials need everything instantly, we need success in seconds, nothing happens overnight, everything happens with the time, all we need to do is stay patience, truthful, and work harder, Not because Gandhian says, because it’s the golden rule,because as Gandhiji says “Gandhism is no real thing, I have simply tried in my own way to apply the eternal truths to our daily life and problems”. And there is no alternative to truth.
