J.K or  JOANNE ROWLING:

A British novelist, screenwriter and producer also writes under the pen name of  J.K.Rowling and Robert Galbraith.She rose to fame with her Harry Potter series.They have become best seller books and she has gained a lot of fame and awards through these series.A  typical rag to riches story.



CHILDHOOD AND EARLY LIFE:

She was born as Joanne Rowling and was academically proficient.She attended  St.Michael's primary school, then Wyedean school and college. She went to University of Exeter to do her B.A in  French and Classics. She wrote from the young age of five and her first story was RABBIT.She has penned down innumerable stories. 

In 1986 after graduation she moved to London   to  pick up a job of a Researcher and Bilingual Secretary for Amnesty International. Here she penned a small essay' What was the name of the nymph again? or Greek and Roman studies recalled.'which was published in University of Exter's journal.

CAREER:

A  memorable journey from Manchester to London made her dream big and on that journey was born the bespectacled boy Harry Potter.The mere thought of this caricature made her pen down her thoughts immediately and gave birth to the wizardry of the' Philospher's  Stone'She soon relocated from London to Portugal to fill a vacancy for a teacher.She penned down her first three chapters of this book in Portugal.

In 1993 she moved to Scotland to be with her sister as she was facing personal issues with her marriage and was jobless.Now her only passion left was writing.It was in 1995 she completed her legendary book 'Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone'.It was rejected by 12 publishers and then Bloomsbury published it.Then she took up a teacher training course in University of Edinburgh.From 1998 to 2009 she wrote a series of Harry Potter books for children and they have sold in millions.

In 2012 she came with a book totally for adults'The Casual Vacancy.'In 2012 she came up with her website POTTERMORE.In 2013 she penned another adult book 'The Cuckoo's Calling' under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.The sales of the book escalated four- fold.Presently she is busy writing two books one aimed at small children and the other for adults.

Her books have been translated into 65 languages and have- a  238m selling.She has been conferred with awards from the French government and Order Of The British  Empire.A true inspiration for people who want to turn their dreams to reality.
