 13 March 2018

Babies especially newborns are sensitive beings recently out from the safe vicinity of mother’s cocoon to face the extreme weather conditions. Since their bodies are slowly developing immunity and tolerance, babies born in summers have a tougher time of not only coping up with extremely hot surroundings but also regular problems like long power cuts, water shortage, and soaring temperature. HappyMaa provides some tips to keep both the baby and mother cool during the summers.Baby bathing frequency-Babies sweat a lot during the summers but it is still not recommended to bathe them frequently as their skin may get dry. However, if your child still feels too hot wiping them frequently with lukewarm sponge will and moisturizing them also help to keep them cool and prevent their skin from developing dryness. Babies should not be bathed with cold water in open surroundings, the bathing water should always be lukewarm and babies should be brought back to the bed wrapped in a towel. While bathing the baby special care should be taken to clean her underarms, neck, and all the folds visible on her body as these areas produce more sweat and chances of developing rashes are more.Oil Massage- Oil massages are mandatory health routines for the baby even in summers as they regulate blood circulation and strengthens the bones of the child. However, in summers it is recommended to use light oil which readily gets absorbed in the skin and doesn’t stay for long on the body of the baby as it may block the sweat pores and develop skin rashes causing irritation.Summer dressing- Babies should be dressed in loose fitting cotton clothes during summers as cotton cloths easily absorb the mild sweating. For the protection of babies they are usually dressed in layers so that whenever they start feeling uncomfortable due to soaring weather a layer can be removed to keep them cool yet protected. If you are moving out with the baby, try to cover their body completely with loose and soft cotton cloth and her head with comfortable hat to safeguard her from scorching heat, rashes, and heat strokes. However, it is recommended to avoid taking baby out during the hot weather for a long time.Additionally, throughout the weather try to use soft and comfortable material for baby everywhere like whenever you are putting baby down the cloth below her like the bedsheet should be of soft cotton material so that it can easily absorb their mild sweating. It is recommended to avoid using silk, nylon, and other synthetic form of material for the baby as they may trap heat inside the baby’s body and cause them to sweat profusely causing skin rashes.Use of AC and Coolers for baby- It is highly recommended to keep baby under the normal room temperature so that their bodies adjust to the temperature accordingly. However, if the mercury is soaring and unbearable, the AC and Coolers at moderate temperature can be used. However, babies should be kept away from the effect of direct air hitting their bodies. Also, switch off the AC and let the baby’s body adjust to the temperature before taking them out during the summers as sudden baby’s bodies are vulnerable to sudden weather changes.HAPPY MAA WISHES YOU AND YOUR BABY HAPPY SUMMERS. WE ALSO RECOMMEND YOU TO SHARE YOUR UNIQUE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR BABY COOL DURING THE SUMMERS.

 2 April 2018

World health dayThe World Health Day is celebrated on 7th of April every year. This day is celebrated for awareness of the global health. The World Health Day is been the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as other related organizations. The World Health Organization (WHO) has there theme, slogan and hashtag for their organization are:Theme for World Health Day is: Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere The slogan is: “Health for All”. The primary hashtag that we are using is : #HealthForAll but look out for posts using #WorldHealthDay as well. The World Health Organization held the First World Health Assembly in the year 1948. The Assembly decided to celebrate 7 April of each year, with effect from 1950 after 2 years, as the World Health Day. World Health Day is acknowledged by various governments and non-governmental organizations with interests in public health issues, who also organize activities and highlight their support in media reports, such as the Global Health Council. The World Health organizes decided a particular theme for the international, regional and local events on this Day. They have the different theme every year related to their aspect. If we talk about the theme of the World Health Day then we have numbers of year passed with the different theme for the world. Every theme is related to securing your health with different problems. We are celebrating World Health Organization since 1948 till now, long 70 years. Recent themes that are been taken for this day they are; in the year 2014 the theme was taken on the disease Vector-borne meaning of this was a small bite, big threat. In the year 2015, the theme was taken Food safety so that people could eat healthy food. In the year 2016, the theme was taken Halt the rise, this was related to beat diabetes. a largely preventable and treatable non-communicable disease that is rapidly increasing in numbers in many countries, most dramatically in low- and middle-income countries. Simple lifestyle measures have been shown to be effective in preventing or delaying the onset of type 2 diabetes, including maintaining normal body weight, engaging in the regular physical activity, and eating a healthy diet. Diabetes can be controlled and managed to prevent complications through diagnosis, self-management education, and affordable treatment. The WHO estimates about 422 million people in the world have diabetes, with the disease the direct cause of some 1.5 million deaths. The goals of WHD 2016 are scaled up prevention, strengthen care, and enhance surveillance. In the year 2017 the theme was taken Depression: Let's talk because the condition affects people of all ages, from all walks of life, in all countries. It impacts on people’s ability to carry out everyday tasks, with consequences for families, friends, and even communities, workplaces, and health care systems. At worst, depression can lead to self-inflicted injury and suicide. A better understanding of depression – which can be prevented and treated – will help reduce the stigma associated with the illness, and lead to more people seeking help. Talking about the upcoming World Heath Day the theme has been decided is Universal Health Coverage. This topic has been taken so that they could cover all different type of problem of the people. The World Health Organization was founded on the principle that all people should be able to realize their rights to the highest possible level of health.“Health for all” has therefore been our guiding from 70 years. It’s also the impetus behind the current organization wide drive to support countries in moving towards the Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The organization will maintain a high profile focus on (UHC) events through 2018, starting on the World Health Day on 7th of April with global and local conversations about ways to archive health for all.So it has been decided that in this 70th anniversary year, World Health Organization is calling on the world leaders to live up to the pledges they made when they agreed on the Sustainable Development Goals in the year 2015, and commit to concrete steps to advance the health of all people. This means ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship. Experience has illustrated, time and again, that Universal Health Coverage is achieved when political will is strong. Throughout 2018, we aim to inspire UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by highlighting policymakers’ power to transform the health of their nation, framing the challenges as exciting and ambitious, and inviting them to be part of the change.Throughout 2018, we aim to Motivate UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by sharing examples of how countries are already progressing towards UHC and encourage others to find their own path.Throughout 2018, we aim to Guide UHC stakeholders to make commitments towards UHC by providing tools for structured policy dialogue on how to advance UHC domestically or supporting such efforts in other countries. If we talk about some of the countries have already made significant progress towards universal health coverage. But half of the world’s population is still unable to obtain the health services they need. If countries are to achieve the decided target, then one billion people need more to benefit from UHC by 2023.this is the achievement target year has been decided by the UHC.World Health Day will shine a spotlight on the need for UHC and the advantages it can bring. WHO and its partners will share examples of the steps to take to get there through a series of events and conversations held at multiple levels. As it has been said by the Director General “No one should have to choose between death and financial hardship. No one should have to choose between buying medicine and buying food.”Every people do not know that why this universal health day coverage matters for our countries? It is because the country that invites in UHC marks a sound investment in their human capital. In the recent years, UHC has emerged as a key strategy to make progress towards other health-related and border development goals. Access to essential quality care and financial protection not only enhance people’s health and life expectancy, it also protects countries from epidemics, reduces poverty and the risk of hunger, creates jobs, drives economic growth and enhances gender equality.Do everyone know that why World Health Day is been celebrated?  Leona Zoey
 10 January 2019

Everyone has got a favorite treatment or a face cream but beautiful skin actually starts with nourishment from inside. You should know that older cells are always shed and they’re soon replaced by younger ones and a constant supply of the main nutrients is vital for supporting rapid growth. When you eat the right balance of foods, you can give your skin the vital nutrients it requires to stay supple, soft and blemish-free.As much as you can try to resist it, human skin naturally ages. This is something we can’t avoid as this is the inevitable part of aging and age spots, wrinkles and overexposure to the sun, strong soaps, poor nutrition and chemicals leads to fast aging. Keeping this in mind, it is best to adopt a holistic approach towards your skin care routine. Importance of Nutrition for your healthIt is important for you to give proper nutrition to your health as because an unhealthy diet can always cause damage to metabolism, promote weight gain and also have an impact on the organs like liver and heart. Something that you eat will also have an impact on the health of your skin which is the largest organ of your body. Omega-3 fatty acids are vital to keep skin supple, thick and moisturized. In case there is a sudden deficiency of omega-3 fats, this can lead to excessive dry skin. Omega-3 fats which are found in the aforementioned fishes reduce inflammation which can be the ultimate cause behind the acne and redness and it can even make your skin less sensitive to the harmful UV rays of the sun. They’re also a resource of all the Vitamin E which is one of the main antioxidants which helps your skin.#2: WALNUTSWalnuts also have several kinds of features which make them a perfect food for healthy skin. They’re indeed the best source of fatty acids which are those fats which aren’t made by the human body. Walnuts tend to be richer than most other forms of nuts in both omega-6 and 3 fatty acids. Remember that a diet which is too rich in omega-6 fats will induce inflammation and might lead to psoriasis. On the other hand, omega-3 fats help in reducing inflammation and also in the skin. #3: AVOCADOSAs long as healthy fats are concerned, avocados are rich in them and such fats benefit different function in the body like the health of your skin. Since Vitamin E is that nutrient which majority of the Americans don’t get enough of, it is better to have avocados. It is also essential for our skin to have enough amounts of Vitamin C for getting healthy and fresh skin. These days, it is rare to have a deficiency of Vitamin C but still there are few common symptoms like rough, dry and scaly skin which gets bruised easily. A 100 gm serving which is around half of an avocado offers 10% of RDI of Vitamin R and 18% of RDI of Vitamin C. #4: SUNFLOWER SEEDSIn general, seeds and nuts are the best sources of nutrients which are vital for healthy skin. Seizure first aid is uncomplicated to give.Around 1 out of 10 people may have a seizure at some stage in his or her lifetime. That means seizures are common, and one day you may need to help someone. First aid for seizures involves helping the person to be safe until the seizure stops on its own and knowing when to call the doctor for emergency help.It has become necessary that professionals such as school nurses and other school staff, law enforcement, first responders, and childcare workers understand the concept of epilepsy and how to offer first aid. CDC provides training programs for these groups through a partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation.4. Seizures can look different than you expect. What comes to mind when you talk about a seizure? In the movies and on TV, many a times they show a person falling to the ground, shaking, and becoming unaware of what’s going on around them. That’s one type of seizure, but it’s a very rare one. Many a times, a person dealing with a seizure may seem confused, stare into space, wander, make unusual movements, or can’t answer questions or talk. At times it is hard to tell when a person is having a seizure, so it’s necessary to learn how to recognize different types of seizures.5. Few Causes of Epilepsy Are Preventable.Epilepsy can be caused by various conditions that affect a person’s brain. Sometimes, doctors don’t know the cause. Traumatic brain injuries, some infections such as cysticercoids, (which are the leading cause of epilepsy worldwide), stroke, as well as pregnancy complications are several preventable causes of epilepsy.
